Title: Ken Sugimori

For those who don't know the name, Ken Sugimori is the guy that designed the creatures we all love.
He and Satoshi Tajiri, the man with the idea, teamed up and made the universe that is finally getting a online chapter through Mr.D and the gang :)

I just think he needed a post for being the one that designed, if not all, most of the pokes, trainers and other characters.

Now you can all post and show your love! ;D

PS: Note the Oshawoot, Squirtle and Arceuses... Arceuss? Eeh... Whatever. The 2 Arceus in the back on the picture :3
Also just noticed Entei.. and the blue thing (fin) behind him might be Mudkip... and there's a Pichu

Well he's making some bad one's now i mean he's made some brilliant ones but he's running out of ideas i mean one of the new ones recently was a floating ice cream pokemon used to be based of animals and aliens, legendaries were acceptable to look odd but inanimate objects or certain foods is just desperate.

I was referring to the blue fin just behind his back and the one just besides the Pichu. :P

Personally, I don't really see how that could be "desperate" when there were Pokemon based on inanimate objects in Gen 1. ???

He isn't the one with the ideas though. He just gets the ideas from others and designs them.

The blue thing is Oshawott~there's a shell on its belly.
Not sure what to say, except that he was responsible for me having an awesome childhood! Very few things beat playing Pokemon with friends!

Guess I should be thankful for this guy and Tajiri. If not for them, and a few other people that cranked out games for the Game Boy Color, Nintendo would not be around anymore, and we wouldn't have pokemon today. Look it up, it was the biggest thing to ever happen in video game history.

The amount of hate on Gen 5 pokés leaves my perplexed.

I just adapt, yes at first they were so weird. But so was Gen4.
And it turned out to be one of my favs.

Anyway,i now "love" Ken,he was the original, original developer of Charizard.
A briliant man for a briliant creation.

You're not the only one, John.  ???

I actually found a rather interesting comic (http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=pokemon%20gen%201%20gen%205&order=9&offset=312#/d3e91yr) that explores what general reactions would be if Gen 1 and Gen 5 were switched.

:< Eh? I actually loved Gen 5.... It was much more interesting than 3 or 4 to say the least. And the overall pokemon design was for the most part better in my opinion than in the previous 2 gens.... 'cept for Vullaby/Mandibuzz and Ice Cream Trio, but I'm sure even they could have their useful/good points...

Anyway, thanks Ken Sugimori, Satoshi Taijiri, and everyone else involved for creating this series we can debate over. (No sarcasm intended! ^ ^)

I don't care what any of you say, those Ice Cream Pokemon are ridiculous! But to be honest, I really never cared much for Gen 2's Pokemon. Aside from the obvious favorites of the bunch (Starters, legendaries, etc.) they seemed sort of weak or not cool-looking enough to me. Didn't care for the majority of weaker Pokemon you encounter early on in Johto, which is why my team consisted of nearly all Kanto Pokemon. But Gen 5 wasn't all bad, albeit the new Pokemon seem a lot more cartoon-ish, there are always some gems.

BTW, Tajiri and Ken made my childhood awesome, so cheers to them! ;D

That is a very intruiging comic, altough i think the reason there is so much hate on gen 5 is due to the fact that it didnt seem as silly when we were kids, and now it just seems plain ridiculuos for some of them.

Here's the man who drew 1/5 of my thousand-large collection of Pokémon cards. Hats off to you sir. When I was a kid in elementary I knew your name and the names of all your fellow Pokémon artists.

That was a pretty funny comic, but I didn't really agree with the carbon copies bit. Cloyster does have Gastly's face, but that's it. It also has an entire shell built around it making it unique. Nidoqueen and Rhydon do look very very similar and I always thought that was sort of odd, but it was nice to have options and I'd rather have Rhyhorn evolve into that instead of a ... well a bigger rhino so-to-speak. But see the Genies aren't supposed to be compared to those Pokemon, because they're the "Legendary Trio" of Gen 5, right? Well Pokemon has been doing this trio carbon copy thing for a long time, ever since Gen 1 with the legendary birds. It just so happens that ever since about Gen 3, they've made the differences between them more and more subtle. Latios and Latias, anyone? How about the Legendary Golems? Each generation the differences become less obvious.
