And our winner is, Genbor! With 27 votes for his Postman. Congratulations Genbor. Monzta stuck in there for awhile, and had a great entry. For the moment, Genbor is going to be offered a trial period with the Pixel Art Team. He will mostly be focusing on paperdolls for Pokemon Universe.
Thanks to all competitors, this was a long competition, but we have our winner.
Now for the finale, lets see who can take the prize and have the opportunity to develop a very unique skill. Here are the entries.

As stated in the title, you can see who has made it to the finale. And Lubbies did a great job in this competition, so please thank him for his hard work. The winner of this last competition will have a trial period with the Pixel Art Team. You will learn, and hopefully, master some techniques in pixel art, and even possibly move on to other things; other than paperdolls. So lets get this on the road.

These descriptions are short, but allow for a lot of free play. Don't rush this round, as these sprites could possibly be used in the game, and you'll also have til 22nd of this month. Which is two weeks to complete your submission. Please use reference pictures and what ever resources you have to add as much detail, and originality as you can. Good luck, and let the best man win.

Becuase of this

Well I still suck at shading, but that doesn't matter I guess. Whatever happens from now, it was still fun.
ShedinjaEDIT: Couldn't fit the darn Logo no matter how I tried, so I just tried to imitate it with a few pixels trying to resemble a pidgey (or at least a bird). :D
PS: Could you also post the descriptions with the submissions as to avoid the same confusion as what happened last time?

I think he soiled himself. Or lacks the funds to afford a washing machine. Either way, it won't change his "uniform" in any way.

Liked both of them, I voted Genbor though simply because it was more pleasing to look at for me. Only qualm for both of them is that they need to learn better shading techniques.

I don't think the inn keeper looks like an inn keeper. For some reason, he looks like a marine. The apron looks like a bulletproof vest. Looks cool though.

I personally don't see that at all...
They were both so good it was hard to decide, but I had to go with Monzta's for his use of shading. Good job to both of you though!

But to me it dosent look like a bartender, it looks more like a butcher(minus the blood). But that dosent change the fact that both of them did a great job, so it was hard for me to decide.

Now THAT, I can sorta see...but I can still see the bartender in him. The beer-stained apron, the stubble of facial hair commonly associated with bartenders... The fact that he's slightly overweight also suggests that he's a bartender, as you have to be pretty strong to cut meat all day, and would look more surly than anything else.

Well I tried making mine smile in the previous versions (or at least have a smirk on his face) but it didn't really show, so I believe expressions will be available in-game through popup signs.

How would it make the voting easier? The default expression of any animated sprite/piece of art is neutral. It would look stupid as poop if an NPC was permanently smiling or any type of expression.
Anyway, i'm using this thread to say i've returned after three years.. for some reason.

I sort of agree, as I personally don't think a sprite's expression would help me vote. Plus what if that character would change expression in-game? It would probably make things more difficult. Also, this is not the thread to be posting your return to PU.

I think you're over-exaggerating. Some npcs can smile all the time or they can look grumpy all the time too. Plus I'm pretty sure PU sprites are bigger than the handheld sprites so it may be able to work.
And I could say, hey, why does that barman always have an empty expression. It's creepy so I'm not gonna buy anything. No offense intended, Monzta, to your awesome work.
