Title: [RP][Day one, Tournament.] Dimension Veil's
Post by: Desbear on December 15, 2014, 12:46:23 AM
Legends speak of an energy that each creature in the different worlds holds, a unique energy, to give them unique powers. There's a small fallacy in this legend; it's not a unique energy. There exist worlds in between all other worlds, with a link to all other worlds. Within these worlds, some of the creatures do still have a unique energy, but there exist a greater number, who share a link, or share an energy with a creature from another world. Humans that wielded such energies were called Astral Fighters, and the being they could channel were called Astrals.

Originally, the humans would use techniques to truly become these Astrals, but those arts have long been lost. Now, technology has been created to create a digital arena, where the users can channel their Astrals, and fight within tournaments. That brings us up to around now. It's time for the third annual Galactic Tournament. This is the first year where a method was created so spectators can watch, and also the first year where the referees don't have to channel the arena itself. There're even rumors that letters have already been sent out to gather the participants of this tournament.

- You play as the Participants of this tournament, during the day you have the ability to socialize with the other participants, and explore the town that the tournament takes place in. At night, you participate in the tournament, going through a single battle each night.
- This is another RP in the Galactic Tournament series. To read these, go to Galactic Tournament, and Galactic Universe's pages respectively. However, this RP will not acknowledge the other two, as it's a prequel to both.

Rules
- No Godmodding. You are not all powerful, and must be fair to the other players.

- No off topic discussions in the OOC (http://www.pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,5085.msg133597/topicseen.html). Please leave the OOC just for RP related things.

- All posts must be at least a paragraph, or 4 sentences, long. Anything shorter will result in a warning, and multiple warnings will result in being kicked from the RP.

- You must use proper grammar and spelling at all times in your posts. You can write character dialogue in any style you wish so long as it is readable.

- All battle results must be determined beforehand in either the OOC, or through PM's. Since this is a fighting RP, it will be up to you who wins and who loses.

*For the sake of space, all other details will be in the OOC, which is here (http://www.pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,5085.msg133597/topicseen.html#new).

*Details for the Profiles are here (http://www.pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,5084.msg133596/topicseen.html#new)

*Mature content warning, as some of the deaths can be...A little gruesome.

GM POST

The guards for each tournament member knocked on each Astral Battler's door in the hotel, and began to read off a letter.

It's the dawn of a new day, and not just any day, folks. It's the start of the Galactic Tournament! Er...The day before the Galactic tournament! It's currently 8:00 AM, and it's the dawn of the day the tournament starts. The tournament, however, starts at 7:00 PM. You are free to do whatever you want in between this time, but you are not allowed to leave the city. We recommend you seize the day, and take advantage of the free Breakfast at the Galactic Hotel! On each of your tables you'll find a map of the city, and some recommendations on where to go. Lastly, the hotel is equipped with a sparring room, so if you want to spar, either grab one of the guards, or grab a partner! Now then, have a nice day, and remember, battles at seven.

After that, the Guards promptly left, and went to the ground floor, where they would begin to eat breakfast while waiting on the Battlers to come from their rooms.

With a groan, Alexa groggily dragged herself out of bed after hearing a knock-knock-knocking on her door. Still in her half-asleep state, she pulled her black hoodie over her pyjamas, yelling over to the door. "Coming!" She stumbled over her bags left and right, her palm swinging out to grasp ahold of something to stop her fall once she tripped on the edge of a suitcase... said object just to happening to be the doorknob, what unfortunate luck. With a twist of the knob, she began to swing along with the door, her free hand lurching forward to slam against the wall to her right. At this moment, she was rather glad that her look of panic and awkward Spiderman-esque pose was concealed behind her hotel room door. "Ugh-- hang on, hang on!" the blonde mumbled, trying to fix up her scruffy bedhead to the best of her ability with her fingers, or- atleast, a guesstimate of what might be a wee bit more presentable, since there were no mirrors nearby. Walking around the door so that she was visible to her visitor, she pried an amber orb open. "Now whaddya wan-" Oh, sweet Gundam... it was the guards... and why were they dressed like they came straight out of a comic book? Secondly... why were they so tall? With a barely audible nervous laugh, Alexa took a step back, allowing the man to read off the letter.

It's the dawn of a new day, and not just any day, folks. It's the start of the Galactic Tournament! Er...The day before the Galactic tournament! It's currently 8:00 AM, and it's the dawn of the day the tournament starts. The tournament, however, starts at 7:00 PM. It had literally only been a few days ago. The dreams of fire, the weird scar on her hand that she kept concealed under a glove, and two crazy-looking men dragging her off to a hotel. Galactic tournaments? P'ah! Thusfar, the building certainly seemed less than stellar... like herself. Though, out of all of these darn things, what was an...as...tra...Astro...Astro Boy? Heck yeah! She loved that show! Though, the look of shock in the eyes of the guards that visited her apartment yesterday after mentioning she had one of those things... what was that about, anyway? Pushing that thought aside for now, she sighed. This would be her new home away from home for the time being, and she figured that she might as well get used to it.

Half-listening and half not to what the guard had to say, a particular term caught her interest like a new RPG game on a 70% off sale. Free...breakfast? She was sold! Ah-- wait... there was just one problem. Chances were, she probably wasn't the only little sprout in the building who was ready to snatch up a free meal, which meant... Oh, god... oh no... In exchange for food, she'd have to run the risk of... CONVERSATION! Maybe if she snuck down there as quick as a fox, scooped up her food and found a nice, quiet area of the building, she'd be able to chow down without socialization getting in the way... With the rumbling of her stomach roaring in her ears, she decided that it was a risk worth taking. With a shaky bow of her head in respect, "T-...t-t-....thank you for your time!" Alexa barely managed to squeak out before dashing her way down to the ground floor like a hoodie-clad knight in... fuzzy socks and pyjamas...

Angelo had been awake for hours, his excitement preventing any form of sleep whatsoever, however he didn't feel tired at all. In fact, as soon as he heard the knock at the door he burst outside almost tackling the guard. The guard was startled but continued on to read a message.

Guard-It's the dawn of a new day, and not just any day, folks. It's the start of the Galactic Tournament! Er...The day before the Galactic tournament! It's currently 8:00 AM, and it's the dawn of the day the tournament starts. The tournament, however, starts at 7:00 PM. The guard quickly departed afterwards.

Angelo-Free breakfast?!?!

Angelo sprinted down the hotel corridor and straight to the elevator. He mashed the down button but after a couple seconds he decided to take the stairs. He bursts through the stairs door and trips rolling down the stairs all the way to the bottom. He quickly stands up and brushes off the dust on his shoulders and calmly walks through the door as if nothing happened. This is when he realises he is still in his pyjamas.

Clark Matthews

When the guard knocked on Clark’s door promptly opened with Clark, fully dressed as he's already been up for about an hour, quickly making his way past the guard. He looked back towards the guard with an uninterested look. “Save it. I already know the routine." He continued walking going towards the elevator, it looked like someone was there but they ran off before they elevator could come up. "Typical newbie" Clark thought to himself. John entered the elevator but rather than going to get breakfast he decided to head towards the sparring room. Today wasn't a day to slack off and Clark knows he's going to need to stay sharp if he wants to win. Underestimating the enemy is what made him lose the tourney the last time he entered. Clark let out a small sigh the guards never really try in battle; hopefully an actual competitor comes along and provides some real practice.

Yui heard a knock on the door. Groaning a bit she hugged her pillow more tightly.
"Don't wanna... Pillow is my bezzzt friendzzz..."
She mumbled. She was about the fall back to sleep again with a weird vision of widely grinning cows when she snapped back to reality by a louder knock. She turned to look at the clock. She groaned again rolled herself out of bed flinging her "best friend" to the footend. She sighed and walked to the door opening it. She looked up at the guy at her door.
"Do you realize what time it ---?"
"It's the dawn of a new day, and not just any day, folks. It's the start of the Galactic Tournament! Er...The day before the Galactic tournament! It's currently 8:00 AM, and it's the dawn of the day the tournament starts. The tournament, however, starts at 7:00 PM. He interrupted her mid-sentence. She stared at him for a minute in complete silence after his long introduction.
"Oh... Er... Thanks..."
The guard walked away. Yui just stared after him, then closed the door jumping back in bed grabbing her pillow. She remained there for a few minutes, though she knew she couldn't get back to sleep once she got up. Annoyed she picked her clothes and changed.
Will they do this for every person...?
Yui pitied those whom might be worse at getting up early. She yawned and then left for breakfast.

"Ding!"
The elevator opened up right in front of Yui. She looked around but saw nobody. Perhaps too impatient to wait for the elevator. Yui walked on to the door to the staircase. Going with the elevator down she found a ridiculous concept. Walking down stairs ain't tiring, walking up was a different thing though. She walked quite swiftly down the stairs, skipping the last one by jumping down. She looks at a spot that seemed like someone smashed his face in the floor. She decides to not think about it walking towards the restaurant section. A guy in his pyjamas was standing there. She just had a quick glance and then just passed him entering the room.

The sudden knocking of the door surprised Rika who was in the middle of getting changed. Judging from the intensity of the knock, whoever was there seemed to have an urgent message for her. Perhaps it was the organiser for the event? she initially thought but realised that it was probably a messenger. "Just coming!", she shouted as she hurriedly organised the mess that was her hair, until it was at least a somewhat presentable appearance in her mind. After fumbling around with the rest of her possessions, placing them in their proper places, Rika made her way to the door. The girl stopped right at the door to take a deep breath, thereby, composing herself. Today was going to be fun. With that positive attitude in mind, she gently opened the door to reveal the guard and their message.

Unfortunately, it was too early to absorb the dose of information she got. She probably didn't take much of the information in, rather, just the key points - the current time and the time the tournament starts. Small mumbles of a "Hmm" and "Ahh" emitted from her mouth as the guard spoke, no louder than the squeak of a mouse. The strain on her neck was quite substantial. Rika wondered if she was just short or if the guard was just, well, huge. She closed the door after thanking them for the message.  There wasn't much to say to a guard after all...was there? With a frustrated sigh, she drifted through her room to sit down for a moment so she could process the information given. 8 a.m... 7 p.m... I've got 11 hours to prepare. Okay. I should get breakfast first. With that in mind, she finally left her room, heading for the dining hall. However, there was one small problem.

She had no idea where she was going.

Scarlet almost didn't hear the knock at her door, and if she didn't take her headphones off to shake her hair out she would've missed it. She hastily threw on a top and answered the door. "Can I help you?" she asked halfway through a yawn. The guard delivered his message and promptly left. She closed the door behind her and leaned her back against it. It took her a few moments for her brain to process what it was told. ". . . oh. Sh*t." She pushed herself away and put on her sweater. She had already been awake for an hour now and was relaxing with music after her shower when the guard came. She put on her headphones, made any due adjustments to her outfit, and set out to the lobby. She specifically asked the staff for a room on the lower levels, then she could take the stairs without being totally exhausted. Nobody took the stairs, after all.

The dining hall was packed with fighters crowded around tables, trying to memorize their maps over breakfast. She would have preferred her own cooking, but it's free food, so she didn't complain. She snickered on the inside; as if she would complain anyway. She picked a table on the far edge of the hall where the crowd was less dense and their voices wouldn't go through even her headphones. But after some peaceful isolation, and a meal that made her miss her mother's cooking, she set out for the sparring room to practise.

Aaron hurtled out of bed at the sound of the knock, flying to the door and tossing it open. "Yo what up, what can I do for ya?" The guard's eyes widened in surprise for a moment, then head read his message and left quickly. He stared at the spot the man had been, then shook his head and turned back into his room to get dressed. He realized at that moment he had answered the door in his boxers. "Well, that sure explains a lot..."

He threw on a black t-shirt with the words 'I'M THE MONKEY KING ' in big bold letters on the front, a baggy pair of jeans, and slipped on his sneakers. Then he grabbed his Ipod and turned on a song that sounded suspiciously like crazy train, hung his headphones around his neck, and took off out the door. He had decided to skip breakfast in favor of some sparring, and took a left to avoid the lunch hall entirely. He was too absorbed with his music to notice he was about to run into someone, and only saw a flash of red hair before he slammed into the person.

"Oh sh*t, I'm sorry!" He stuck out a hand to help her up, and offered a weak smile. "You okay?"

Scarlet was wearing her headphones as well when Aaron ran into her. They landed around her neck at the moment, blaring an old rock alternative band. As for Scarlet, she hit floor with an "Oof!" After a few seconds of looking up to this tall man who ran her down, she couldn't help but smile back as he took his hand and got back to her feet. "Yeah, I'm alright," she replied and dusted herself off. She chuckled a bit. "Nice shirt."

Aaron rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled nervously. He averted his attention to his music long enough to mute it, then he went back to the girl in front of him. "Your hair looks weird, is it natural?" He paused for a moment, then smacked himself in the forehead. "Sorry, didn't mean to say that out loud. I should have at least introduced myself first, I'm Aaron. I came here for the tournament, and was headed towards the sparring room when I ran into you."

She rolled her eyes and laughed softly. "Yes, that's why my name is Scarlet," she said half-sarcastically. "And it's alright. I was on my way to the sparring room too." She brushed her hair behind her ear. "I think I can guess what your astral is," she said while looking at his shirt.

Aaron nodded. "Yeah, that should be pretty easy. The Monkey King's gotta represent!" An idea suddenly hit him. "If we're both headed to the sparring room, why don't you tag along with me?" He stared at her expectantly, his face subconsciously taking something akin to a puppy dog pout. It was quite a scene, since he towered over her.

She couldn't say no to that face. "Alright," she said with a shrug. "I'd rather fight with a fellow opponent than a guard. Go easy on me, okay?" she said while starting to walk again. She almost had to crane her neck just to see his face.

Angelo, though slightly embarrassed by his outfit continued to serve himself breakfast. A girl with black hair brushed past him but he was so focused by the many choices of food that he didn't even notice. after a few long minutes he decided upon the pancakes with smiley faces cut into them. The chef looked at him skeptically and walked over.

Chef-Sir, you do know this is the section for children.

Angelo had already coated his pancakes in a fine layer of maple syrup. Angelo looked up from his dish straight up to the chef.

Angelo-And?

The chef looked almost shocked but decided to leave Angelo with his devices. Angelo turned to find a seat. His eyes scanned the room, there were more people than he expected this early, all the tables seemed full up except one.. Angelo sat down at the last remaining table alone.

Leon had been lying in the bed of his hotel room, watching the National Sports Network as there had been constant coverage of the upcoming tourney. He had been up since five in the morning, which was rather late for him, seeing as he rarely got much sleep anymore. There was suddenly a knock at the door, and so he quickly hopped out of the bed, and already fully clothed, made his way over to the door. He opened it to a guard, who looked eager to read the letter he held in his hand. Once the man was finished speaking, Leon nodded to him and said a quick, "Thank you."

Just as the guard left, Leon's stomach growled angrily. After closing the door to his second-floor room, he quickly made his way down the stairs. Upon arriving at the dining hall, Leon filled his plate with an colossal stack of food. It seemed that all but one table was full, where a boy who seemed to be just slightly younger than him was sitting. He made his way over to the table and sat across from the boy.

"Hello," he said warmly before digging into the eggs that sat at the top of his mountainous plate of food. It was a wonder how he didn't have a weight problem.

Yui had her plate loaded with some bacon and eggs. She smeared peanut butter on a freshly toasted toast and put a slice of cheese on it. The chefs behind the counter looked at each other when they saw her putting that combination together. She then sat down at a table. The peanut butter already started melting and oozing from underneath the slice of cheese. She started with the toast first.
"Mmm..."
She proclaimed. She took a look at the map that was placed on the table. On it were spots marked that were recommended. She skimmed through it and then decided she would go to the park after breakfast.

Outside it was still quiet. Apparently nobody has gone to the park yet. She sat down at the base of a tree. Closing her eyes to clear her mind. The whole journey to here had made her bounce all over the place in excitement... In her mind that is. At least, that's how she remembers it.

Aaron nodded. "Alright, lets go!" He grabbed her arm and broke into a sprint, pulling the much smaller woman along with him. "I can't wait to battle!" He was like a kid in a candy store when battling was mentioned, and this time was no exception. He practically glowed with energy.

They burst into the sparring room, flying right beside the guards and another astral battler. "We're here!" He finally let go of her, throwing his arms wide to display the room. "I came here a lot when I first got here, but I only ever found the guards. They don't put up much of a fight though, so this should be much more interesting!"

Clark Matthews

Clark let out a heavy sigh, clearly disappointed in the so called "fight" the guards gave him. "You guys know you’re not actually helping anyone of the competitors if you don’t put an actual effort into the fights." After offering his opinion he readied himself to leave when two people came bursting into the sparring room with one spouting some nonsense.

Honestly some of these guys are getting a little too excited, but some people can’t help themselves he supposed. "Sorry to burst your bubble man, but me and these guys are the only other people in here." He said pointing to the guards standing across from him. "But hey if your looking for a fight I’d be happy oblige." He gave a bit of a twisted smile and extended his hand out in manner that could be considered friendly. “Name’s Clark by the way."

Angelo was just about to dig in when a guy who appeared to be slightly older than himself sat down across from him with a mountain of food piled high on his plate. Angelo was slightly confused.

Guy-Hello.

Angelo's confusion turned to excitement, he finally gets to meet his competition, you only make a first impression once. He grins in a way a kid would look at candy.

Angelo-Hey, I'm Ange..

The guy had already started to destroy his plate of food.

Angelo-Lo...

Angelo shrugged it off and also started to work on his fat stack of pancakes, the syrup dribbling through their eyeholes. He tried using a knife and fork but decided to use his hands. He took a large bite and thought it best to start conversation.

Angelo-Sooo *munch* you're in the tourny too right? *munch* *munch*

Scarlet giggled a bit. She liked this Aaron guy, he seemed to have a lot of energy in him, despite how early it was. Then she wondered if he knew where the coffee was, she would've liked a cup of it an hour ago. "I've only done a few battles before now, just to get a feel for it," she said while looking around the room at all the machines. They still fascinated her with how they work. Then she saw a strong man with long hair in front of him, and he was extending his hand out to her and Aaron. "Umm... yeah. Okay. I'm Scarlet,"  and she shook his hand, her grip neither loose or firm.

After wandering about aimlessly on the ground floor for what felt like an eternity, Alexa finally stumbled upon... a door! Hallelujah! This had to be the location of the breakfast buffet! Though, upon swinging the door open and striding in, little did she know.. she was actually in the sparring room.... in her PJs. She glanced to and fro, wondering where all the fresh plates of food were. To her dismay, the delicious morning meal was nowhere to be found. There were, however, a few people... and plenty of guards.

"Ah-... excuse me!" The blonde called out to the group of people, waving a gloved hand. "Did I arrive too early for the breakfast?" With a huff, she took a few more steps forth, a melodious humming and bright amber glow emitting from beneath the fabric of her glove as she made a slow, shaky approach towards the group. Unfortunately for her, she had absolutely no clue that these people were going to be who she would have to go up against once the tournament time arrived. "Ah, I suppose that's that... Hey, uh-- any of you mind tellin' me what an...As..tro thing is?" The closer she got to the battlers, the more obvious the light and sound became, until she pulled her hand up her sleeve in a futile attempt to muffle the noise. "The guards have been muttering back and forth about it all day, but.. I.... I have absolutely no clue what they're chatting about... could you-- u-uh... l-l-lend me a hand, here?" What was she doing? this was completely the opposite of what she had planned! That, and why did her hand feel like it was on fire? God, nothing made sense!

After walking around for the best part of a half-hour, Rika - eventually - found the dining hall. Her face lit up, smelling the food that had acted as her guide for her nose. The last hurdle of this marathon was now in sight. She regretted not listening to what the guard had to say, or rather, not concentrating enough. In her defence, it was early in the morning and Rika is, as you can tell, is not a morning person. Exhausted from the trek, Rika walked through the dining hall to search for refreshments. Up until now, she hadn't really saw or spoke to anyone but if she was going to do that now, here would be the perfect place...right?

Searching far and wide was in vain. There didn't seem to be a single soul in the hall. A barely audible sigh escaped her system as she wondered what she'd do now with her spare time. Was she late because of how lost she had gotten? That must be it, right?

"Stupid...", she mumbled to herself, hastily picking a quick meal and some orange juice to go with it. With this in hand, she decided to hurry to the gym where, most likely, everyone else was...but where exactly was the gym?

"...Should check this map~", Rika said, spotting one next to the exit. Fortunately, now that she was more awakened, Rika was able to concentrate better so going to the gym shouldn't take her long. She started to head over to meet up with anyone else who was there.

Aaron smiled and shook the man's hand. "I'm Aaron Stillen, nice to meet ya! I'd be glad for a battle, but I already promised Scarlet I'd battle her..." He scratched the back of his head awkwardly, and gave him an apologetic look. "If we could find another person we could all bat-" He was cut off as a short blonde rushed up and stuttered at an apology, muttering something about breakfast. He opened his mouth in an attempt to tell her this was the sparring room, but she cut him off again with a rant about 'astros'.

"Uh, okay... This is gonna take a minute to explain, so gimme a second." He looked at both Scarlet and Clark for help, and when none was offered, launched into an explanation. "First off, you're in the sparring room, not the breakfast buffet. Secondly astral battling is a sport around here, and everyone you find will have an astral, which is a being from a different universe you can merge with to fight. They're all different; some are big and really strong, some are fast, some can fly and shoot." He rubbed a hand against the the back of his neck nervously. "I know I'm doing pretty bad at explaining, uh... I know, we'll show you! We can have a battle, you and Clark vs Scarlet and me! That all right with all of you?"

Oh... Astrals! She got it now! ...well, uh- no, she didn't, really. Although it was certainly a shame that she didn't show up at the place she intended to be, and she wasn't a real big fan of sports, the way the wording was pieced together had her convinced that this whole area was some high-tech video game arena! Sweet! "Ah-ha... so it's just like Pokemon, then? A'ight... I'm certain I can handle a round of that..." she mumbled, a crooked grin making its way onto her face. "Sure thing! I suppose I can handle a wee lil' game or two before breakfast with you guys, you seem to know plenty more about this whole Astral thing then I do!" As if worried that the ground itself would explode beneath her feet, she took a wary step forward, reaching a trembling hand out for a shake. "Hey, uh-- the name's Alexa! I'm sorta new to this whole thing, so...uh-- thank you for helping me out of the basics of all this..."

Before receiving the handshake, she suddenly paused, taking a moment to remove her glove... something she had never dared do in front of anybody before. "Now, uh-- I hope this doesn't weird you out, but..." The golden, runic symbol of a four-legged cracked triangle with pointed arms was now in view on the back of her hand, shimmering and flickering wildly like a golden flame trying to escape from beneath her skin. "Since you appear to be a pretty smart guy, can you-- explain this thing for me and just how the heck it got here?" The glow intensified as it was held up to Aaron's face, the sound of a roaring flame mixed with an otherworldly hum ringing out from the mysterious runic seal.

The gym was much further than she originally estimated. Is this place a maze or something? Rika thought. Lacking the energy to walk much more, she sat down at a lounge to think of her next move. "I'll just get a little bit of rest here...Ugh, I wish I'd exercised more before I came to this - I'll be a sitting duck if I can't even move!", she complained with a hopeless tone. While moping about at the lounge, she noticed the flickering of a TV screen above her. She squinted her eyes a little to see...was it the other contestants? And they seemed to be in the gym hall. Is this a live feed? With this in mind, she curiously watched as to what was going to happen next.

Scarlet shrugged. "Sure. I wouldn't mind, so long as I get to practice." She tossed her head back to get the hair out of her eyes. Then she rolled up her sleeves, revealing the tattoo on her arm. The rose was beginning to glow faintly, but it seemed to get brighter as time went on. Her heart began to race, but her expression remained calm. She hadn't been connected to the machines yet, but she wasn't going to reveal that any time soon.

Aaron shook her hand without hesitation, giving her a disarming grin that stretched from ear to ear. "I'm Aaron Stillen, glad to meet you. The mark on your hand is your astral symbol." He pulled up his right sleeve to reveal his own, a large cloud which weakly glowed orange. "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it just appeared after you started having weird dreams? That's the way we all get them. We use them to sync into the arena."

He turned toward the sync station, a tall antennae-like structure. There were computers on each side of it, used to sync in. "That all your questions? If so, we can get this show on the road. I'm ready to fight." He hesitated. "I'll show you how to use it Alexa, the rest of you are good, right?"

Clark Matthews

Clark put his hand on his chin thinking over the offer. This girl seemed pretty clueless on astral battling in general, really doing a credit to blondes. A match against her would just turn into a pointless stomp with 2 against 1, but Clark took note of the way Scarlet looked at the machines. If she's not that experienced then this battle might not be so one sided after all. He thought to himself and then finally spoke. " You know normally teaming up with someone who doesn't even know what an astral is would seem like a pretty bad handicap." A bit of a smug smile showed on his face. “But I think we can handle it. this is just for practice after all." He turned and began walking towards the machines. He stopped for a moment turning his head back. “Well let’s hook up and get started, it'll all make sense once we begin."

Dreams... dreams... suddenly, it all came back to her. Dear god, the dreams... The cave, the forge, the drones... the girl with the soul-piercing eyes... the burning at the back of her ha-- "A-...a-a-astral symbol.. g-got'cha!" She suddenly snapped back to reality with an awkward chuckle, scratching the back of her head shortly after stowing away the glove in her hoodie pocket. "Yeah, I got the dreams, all right...Dreams of fire..." With one last glance towards the general direction of the door, she began to follow Aaron over to the tower.

'Sure haven't seen a console like this one before... why is it so... huge...?' She couldn't help but find herself thinking, narrowing her eyes up at the massive device. A strange addition to an otherwise normal everyday hotel. "I...guess that answers everything. Hey, sure-- you said this was a game, right? I-I've seen plenty of games in my time, I'm sure I'll catch on right away!" She put on a confident mask to conceal her timidness, "...Except for... whatever this thing is. . .A little help on how to work this thing would be nice..."

”Yup.” She was lying through her teeth. Her only experience with these machines was watching a few other fighters hook up to it, and now she was going to as well. What am I doing, she thought as she approached it nervously. On the outside, she was calm, like she knew exactly what she was doing. But inside, she was a wreck. You could poke her with a needle and all her tense emotions would explode into a fit of anxiety. But she remained calm.f anxiety. But she remained calm.

Aaron pressed a button on the side of the tower, and immediately all fours screen came to life. "These get us in-tune with our astrals and into the arenas. All you gotta do is press a couple buttons and..." He smashed a few buttons on the screen and it faded to black, then another screen came up with a large red button that said 'Ready' in bold letters. "Now when we're ready to begin you'll hit that button, press your hand against your astral mark, and just let the pulling feeling on your mind take you. Get it, got it? Good."

He stepped away from and took his place on the left side, quickly preparing his station. When the ready button appeared he rolled up his sleeve and pressed his left hand onto his mark, which was now glowing a bright orange. His right hand hovered over the ready button, and already he could feel the tug on his mind to away into Wukong's conscious. "Ready whenever you all are."

Clark was ready at the sync station his screen ready, he looked over to Rika once Aaron had finished explaining."I'll watch your back if i can just try not to get caught to soon." After giving a bit of a reassuring smile he pressed the ready button and a glow on his shoulder where he had a scorpion tattoo began to glow, but not the whole thing only a small portion with a light blue glowing in the shape of a small chick. Clark was already warmed up after battling the guards and was ready to go again. "Oh and Scarlet don't worry it should be easy to sync after having Aaron explain it like he did." He said smiling as his consciousness slipped into that of his astral.

Leon caught himself with a slight grin on his face as the man introduced himself. He momentarily stopped stuffing food down his face to speak.

"Pleased to meet you, Angelo. I'm Leon."

His new friend began to dive into his own food as he asked if Leon was a competitor.

"Yep, I am," he said proudly. He assumed that Angelo was one as well.

"Hey," he said after chowing down on breakfast sausages and bacon, "what do you say we run through a practice match or two after we finish eating?"

Scarlet would’ve liked to peer over Aaron’s shoulder to see what he was doing, but she had to settle for watching from under his arm. She half-memorized the button sequence and figured out the rest of it at the console. It took her a bit longer than Aaron to prepare herself, but eventually she was ready as well. ”Let’s do this,” she said, trying to sound confident but it came out with a half-squeak in her voice. Her fingers quivered over her tattoo. This was a make-or-break moment. It was time to prove to everyone - to herself - that she was not going to fail.

Cold...
Gazing on the landscape that stretched out before her she looked around for any suspicious activity. It seemed like the coast was clear for now so she sat down on the ground. The sun was shining brightly. But she still felt a sort of chill in the air. Looking at her hand.
Damn this...
Sitting in the sun was the only thing that kept her sane, so she sat in it as much as she could. Even though she couldn't feel the warmth of it anymore.

Yui opened her eyes feeling rather disoriented. She looked around confused, then realized she had fallen asleep while clearing her mind. She shook her head and then sighed. She stretched her arms and legs as wondered how long she nodded off. She took out her map and gazed upon the highlighted points of interest once more.

Gatillo slowly rose from his bed, he glanced over at the clock, which read 8:50, meaning breakfast was almost over. "Hmm... According to the letter, I was supposed to get a wake up call at 8:00 Am, guess I slept through it... Good thing I studied the last two tournaments, I guess... It's almost 9, so I should go grab the breakfast before they get rid of it... I also have roughly 10 hours until the guards will come to collect me... Eh, lets go eat." He got dressed in a blank T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, and began to slowly walk down to the buffet. There was very little food left, but he prepared a plate with what was left, and began eating.

As he did so, the clock rolled over to 9:00 AM, meaning he had just made it in time, as the staff began to come out and clean off the buffet area. He began to read some of the signs that had been set up in the mean time. Two of them were maps of the area, however, one of them, caught his eye. It talked about an area nearby where the fighters could explore and learn more about Astral battling it self, but didn't state the location, stating that it would be revealed after the first set of battles. "I'll have to keep my eye's open for that, that's what I'm here for anyways. I need to check out the local library and book stores in the plaza too, I need to see if they have anything on that one topic..."

As he finished his meal, he slowly rose from his seat, looking around. He began to check the area, taking a map of the hotel as he walked past the check in area. He began to think to himself, a small smile on his face as he began walking. "I'd bet that there are some fighters in the sparring room. I may have missed the original crowd, but I'm at least going to find a few here. I'd like to at least get to see some of the competition, and hopefully, learn something more about their Astral's themselves." He began to slowly make his way to the the room, where he saw that several fighters had began fighting, or at least began to synch, a screen above the Synch machine showing a top down view of the arena in one corner, and flashing through scenes of the other fighters, switching perspectives randomly. "Bingo. I was right."

She had to admit, she was incredibly reluctant on stepping up to the screen, amber orbs eyeing the ready button as though it were the trigger to blowing up the world. Why did she always think everything would burst into an inferno of death? The world may never know. "pulling...on my...mind...?" she looked over to Aaron, repeating the phrase under her breath. To her, the first thing that came to mind was the gruesome hand of a zombie clawing at her cranium. With a slight shudder and a shaking of her head to rid herself of the thought, only now did she realize how paranoid she had become about the thousands of possible things that could happen in this very moment. Every inch of her body was quivering like a leaf in the wind. She didn't know what to expect, she didn't know what to do except for what she was told...

So, she decided that she might as well roll with it, what could possibly go wrong? Fear warping into the surge of excitement of starting anew in her life, her hand swooped forth to slam the ready button down. Drawing a deep breath in to clear her mind, she released it slowly, amber orbs sliding shut as she placed her palm over the seal. The crackling rage of a fiery blaze roared in her ears, a sound only heard by herself. She felt what seemed to be a surge of otherworldly energy rush through her body, leaving her feeling weightless like the drop of a rollercoaster. The roar grew louder, louder, the world felt like it was burning all around her, but yet-- it brought a sudden feeling of calm despite the deafening blare and heat that sounded like it was ready to consume her very being. With one last breath floating out of her mouth, her body went numb... and the sound was gone as though it was never there in the first place.

Eyes snapping open out of shock, she gazed about to find a familiar dreamscene unfolded all around her, blooming into existence out of the endless white void... yet, this time... there was no sound that reached her ears. The flowing of magma, the drones whizzing past her head, metal clashing together... the girl. Despite the piercing gaze of the golden-haired figure, she found herself walking closer... step by step, she walked, her body moving on its own. Eventually, she was a mere few feet away, her feet freezing in place upon the ground. The armored figure said nothing, rising up to her feet. With the silent groan of the metal that encased her arms, she reached out a massive clawed hand. Instinctively, Alexa found herself reaching out her own, her gaze snapping over to the glowing astral mark branded into the back on her hand... and then over to the symbol marked in gold upon the girl's jacket... they matched. 'You...?' Alexa barely managed to mouth a soundless word as her palm pressed against the gauntlet. Just like that, an electric twinge shot through her body as everything bloomed back into white once more, the roaring of flame ringing in her ears before everything went black.

She awoke with her back against a tree, the chirping melody of birdsong overhead being her only company. Shakily dragging herself to her feet, she realized that the ground was... a little bit further from her than she had expected. Everything around her was certainly much too advanced to be virtual reality as she looked down at her palms, which were now clad in neon orange gloves... She took a moment to pinch her arm, both to check to see if she was still alive and that she wasn't dreaming. Feeling the sting of pain, she hissed inwards... "Agh--" She suddenly halted... that voice didn't belong to her at all... "Wh-..wh--" No, no... Swiftly dashing over to the nearest lake, she gaze down at her reflection in the water... "...No...it...i-i-it...!!" She suddenly clutched at the sides of her head, only to meet with a pair of horns among her golden locks... Rubbing at her eyes frantically, she checked again... still, no matter how many times she checked, the girl from the flames was there...no...impossible...SHE was now the girl from the flames... "But it was just a stupid dream!!" She bellowed at the top of her lungs. Out of pure frustration, she stomped a metal boot down upon the ground, yelping when the ground itself split beneath it, a wave of rocks shooting up its wake. "Wh-...what do I do... what do I do?!" She shook her had violently.

Then, suddenly, without even thinking, she found her arm moving on its own, pressing in a switch on her shoulderplate. A small hiss of steam floated away from the vents of her blackplate armor as it slid open, a couple hunks of scrap metal rolling out. She felt-- oddly irritated at herself for some reason as she swiftly began to go to work, piecing the plates together as though it was a little kindergarten craft she had repeated for her entire life. Ok, sure, she had joined a robot club once, but she couldn't help but marvel the sight of the finished product... two freakin' balls. Brilliant... just what she needed in the midst of the forest. Frustration now forming into rage, she gave one of them a hard kick. With a series of whirrs, the ball split open to reveal what seemed to be the holy offspring of a spider and a set of gatling guns, releasing a short whistle before it trotted off into the forest. "...Okay...THAT was awesome..." She couldn't help but smirk a little as the bot disappeared into the trees. Moving over to the next sphere, she gave that one a little tap with her foot, giggling excitedly as it too popped open, making a beeline in the other direction. Wait-...Oh, god.. that had to be the girliest laugh she had ever done...eugh. Gross. Shrugging her shoulders a little, she found her other hand swooping up to press a button on her other shoulderplate, her shell clunking shut and now releasing a thick cloud of steam from the vents... However, after her memories rushed back to her... her eyes widened. "W-...Wait... battle...battle...Where the heck are my weapons?!" The Astral suddenly squeaked. Great, those two drones were probably her only method of protection and she just rolled them out into the forest like a bloody idiot. What other weapons did she have? Well, perhaps she could stomp her feet and do that fancy rock thing again... oh, yeah, perfect. With a sigh, she made her way over to a thicket of trees, rubbing at her temples as the cloud of mist surrounded her like a thick sheet. Maybe, with any luck, she'd find an axe, o-- scrap metal-- or a swor-- s c r a p  m e t a l-- or maybe a pair of twin pisto-- S  C   R  A  P  M E  T  A  L. Ugh! Great, now she had a crazy voice in her head... just where was she going to find metal in a freakin' forest?! Nothing made sense today...

She watched as her colleagues slipped away into the unconscious to bind with their astrals. Aaron spoke of dreams, visions of a silhouette, a flash of colour, a rainbow. The sense of flight, freedom, breaking free from everything that has held her back for so many years. Scarlet heard stories of the Astrals, who and what they are. She had no doubt in her mind who her Astral was.

The big red button stared at her menacingly. Her tattoo glowed and felt like it was burning. Wind whistled past her ears and blew back her hair. She could take this feeling no longer. She pressed the button, clapped her hand over her thorny rose and closed her eyes.

Falling. Face down. Falling through the air. Nothing to catch her, nothing to stop her. Her heart was beating out of her chest and she tried to scream but the air rushed back into her lungs. Laughter. From a voice that was not her own came laughter, beautiful and carefree. She opened her eyes.

She wasn’t falling anymore. She wasn’t even moving, just standing. Not naturally, however; she was on all fours with her back horizontal. She wanted to stand upright, but that didn’t feel right either. She looked down at her haaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!! These were not hands! These . . . she sat down on her haunches and stared at her hooves. Bright blue hooves. She turned her head to look behind her; yes, she was definitely a sky-blue horse. With a rainbow-coloured tail too, and a mark on her flank.

She stood again, precariously this time, and swayed back and forth, back and forth, side to side. Getting her balance, she put one hand - no, hoof - forward, then a back one, then a front one, and so on, slowly lurching onward. Soon she was walking, then running, faster and faster, as fast as her powerful legs would carry her. There was an odd feeling in her back, and itch. She tensed the muscles and felt a light *woomf* before biting the dirt and tumbling over and over, landing upside down with her tail up a tree.

”What the-” She clamped a hoof over her mouth. This was not her voice. ”I sound . . . like this?” she asked herself. ”Sounds familiar.” But she had no time to wonder about her voice, she needed to know what brought her to a halt. Looking up at herself, she saw two blue protrusions from her back - wings. She couldn’t help but smile. ”Awwww yeah,” she proclaimed and clumsily rolled to her hooves. She got a better look at them and their beautiful cyan feathers. She flapped them once. Twice. Over and over until she was hovering. She couldn’t contain her laughter. It was as if she was born for this, made to fly. Acting on instinct alone she soared higher, faster, flying through the crisp forest air and perching on a cloud.

She fell onto her back and laughed. ”This is the best day of my life!” she yelled. Nothing in the entire world could stop her from enjoying this.

Aaron hit the ready button and let the pull take him, the familiar exhilarating feel of syncing overtaking him. The feeling of unbelievable power and anger, the betrayal from the gods, the confidence he held as he defeated them all. The despair as he was imprisoned, and the peace of journeying to the West. He was the Monkey King, the Great Sage equal of Heaven. He was undefeatable.

Son Wukong awoke high above the arena in the sky, sitting cross legged on his nimbus cloud in a meditative form. The wall of clouds all around him obstructed his view and left his fur damp and plastered to his skin. That would simply not do. His eyes, glowing jade green orbs with no pupils, slowly opened and he stood. He reached into his ear and plucked out something the size of a pin, then brought his arm back to his side.

The small object started to grow as he held it until it was a full sized staff slightly taller than the monkey king. The shaft was made of a polished wood, and at both ends there was a heavy jade green dragon head made of marble. He gripped around the middle and whirled it around him, dispelling the wall of clouds. That was much better, now the world could see the handsome Monkey King. Which reminded him, he was here to show off his skill and... Oh yeah, he was here to demonstrate astral battling!

The Great Sage leaped off the nimbus cloud, hurtling toward the ground at great speeds. The Ruyi Jingu Bang grew in length and width as he fell, and when he was satisfied it was large enough, threw it like a spear at the ground. It broke the surface of the dirt, landing upright like a totem pole. The Monkey King landed atop it with ease, balancing on one leg, tail paralyzed midair. Then, with an enormous grin, he bowed. "I am the Great Sage equal of heaven, Sun Wukong the monkey king. Face me if you dare!" His voice boomed across the quiet forest like thunder, rattling the leaves on the nearest trees. His position was no secret to anyone if they wanted to find him.

Yugo

Once again after opening his eyes Clark finds himself in the body of the young Yugo. Going from a tall 23 year old to a short 12 year old was always annoying to Clark, especially one that wears such a big ridiculous looking hat. He was with in the forest arena one which he are very familiar with. He couldn’t see Aaron or Scarlet's astrals, the only one around was a girl with long blonde hair and strange looking hand. She was expunging steam and little robots from looks of it, definitely one of the weirder kinds of astrals.

Yugo decided to test her awareness and begun moving his hands in a circular motion, then two small blue portals emerged. He tossed one up into a tree above the girl leaving the other one in front of him and stepped through. He appeared on top of the tree above Alexa's astral as the portals closed behind him. "Hey looks like you sync'd in just but you might not want to stay still for too long, we don’t know where the others are after all." He yelled down to her wondering if she even realized who he was.

"YAHH!" Alexa stiffened at at the unfamiliar voice, sharply turning on a heel to look up at the tiny astral standing atop the tree. Moments later, her 'cat on a hot tin roof' look subsided, being replaced with a pout of disapproval as she crossed her arms. "Great, this is the part where I die now, isn't it?" She raised a hand up partway to lower her forehead into her palm. "Look, give me a break, kid..." she muttered as the vents on her shell closed. She found it hard enough to see already, so she might as well not fog this up any further. With a flick of her antennae, she moved her gaze up to the portal boy once more. "I can't find where my weapons have spawned, I just threw away possibly my only defenses into the forest, and I can't stop thinkin' 'bout bloody scrap metal!"

"As far as I know, my only attacks are that I stomp my foot on the ground and it shoots rocks at people! What am I supposed to do with that?!" The blonde growled, swinging her arms out to the sides. though, as she did so, a trail of fire shot forth from her arms along their path of movement, then shooting forth like a short-ranged projectile and scorching the ground below her feet. "ok, so I split the ground, build robots, and do a fire thing... great...and I don't even know where the others a--"

Off in the distance, the first drone patrolled through the forest. It halted, tilting its body until it faced skywards, emitting a whistle.

A few moment of silence later, a blurry image pulsed into Alexa's mind, urging her to... look upwards... "...There..." She thoughtfully muttered as she pointed a hand skywards. Though, it moved about, as if unsure of the exact direction of the pulse. "But-- how the heck--?"

Scarlet - err - Rainbow watched as the Monkey King descended from his perch in the clouds with amazement. She scrambled to the edge of the cloud and perked her ears as he let out his cry. There was no mistaking who this ape was. ”Aaron!” she yelled, despite knowing he was too far to hear her. ”Wait a minute,” she said with surprise, ”I have wings.” Confidently, she leaped off her perch and soared downward, circling around him to slow her descent. But in the midst of her excitement she forgot one crucial detail: landing.

”Look out belloowwww!!!! she cried as she spiralled toward Sun Wukong.

Wukong latched one hand onto his staff and somersaulted backwards, defying gravity as he ripped the totem-sized weapon from the ground and carried it with him. He landed in a crouch his staff, now back to its normal size, held behind him with one hand. "I need no warning, I could hear you clumsy flying from a mile away."  He stood at ease, tail swishing leisurely behind him. A small horse did not scare the monkey king, he could take her out like a fly.

He was preparing to do so when an image of a small pale human with a red mane flashed into his mind, and the memories came rushing back to him. He stood up, shrinking his staff back down and hiding it back in his ear. "I'm sorry Scarlet, you know what astral battle does to people... I thought I really was Wukong for a second there." He offered her a smile and held up his hands in a peace offering, then froze. "Shh... Do you hear that?" It wasn't often, but every little bit there was a soft beep.

The sage tensed and drew his staff, standing protectively in front of the much smaller pony, ready to fight.

Yugo

Well it seems like she isn’t to keen on noticing people He thought after seeing her look of surprise. From the way she talked it sounded like she thought Yugo was the enemy. “Listen hey im not gonna hurt you. It's me Clark...well sort of. Anyway you’re not gonna find any scrap metal here. this is pretty much all forest." Clark didn't really want to have to help the newbie since she's a competitor, but the hero in Yugo that gives him the desire to help people knows no limits. Yugo leapt from the tree branch he was standing on towards Alexa. Then out of nowhere she shot fire out of her hands, she was only a few inches from hitting Yugo.

The loud voice came running through the forest. The words were a bit hard to make out but it's most likely Scarlet and Aaron. Alexa was pointing towards the sky as if she had seen something but whatever is there Yugo can’t see through the trees. “Yugo come on now, get up. And be careful with that fire you might set the whole forest on fire." Yugo took a few step in were Alexa was pointing but still couldn't see anything. So instead he closed his eyes and concentrated after, after a few seconds he could see a large light blue silhouette. The exact shape couldn't be made out but it could only be the enemy.

Yugo turned back to Alexa offering his hand to help her up." Scarlet and Aaron are somewhere over. Good job in pointing out there position though i don’t know how you did. Good intuition I guess. well come on we don't want to get caught off guard by them." He gave a soft chuckle, still holding his hand out. But from that silhouette Yugo saw he can only imagine what kind of horrendous creature one of them must be.

The armored girl suddenly perked up and held a finger up to her lips with a glare, as though gently requesting that Yugo stay silent. "Shh..." After a few moments, Alexa closed her eyes... when they opened once more, they seemed... rather glassy, as though she were staring out for miles. The concentric rings within her irises pulsing and flickering with a bright light. The drone whistled softly again, another pulse of an image rushing into her head... much clearer this time around. That grin on her face didn't seem like she was planning anything pleasant, for sure. The atennae upon her head flicked once more as she got into what seemed to be an attack stance, a metal finger still pressed to her lips... golden orbs slid shut again... Both competitors in the same place... how convenient. "...There." She whispered, a fang visible through her crooked grin.

Off in the forest, the first drone whistled softly once more. There was a near silent click... and then a rustle... with a loud 'PEEP PEEP' of alarm, the drone sprung forth from the bushes, gatling guns revving as it would soon unleash fire in the general direction of Sun Wukong and Rainbow Dash in a matter of seconds. "Incendiary ammo... they won't even see it coming..."

Rainbow nearly grazed Wukong and she flew by him while he was still mid-air. She tumbled down to earth but managed to land on her hooves. She shook out her mane and said ”I need to work on that,” under her breath. When Wukong spoke, she did not hear Aaron; she could barely hear herself, only one instinctual thought: fight. She crouched as well, wings spread and poised to take flight. She flared her nostrils and smiled menacingly. She could take him on easily, just fly really fast so he can’t hit you with that giant stick. But then he relaxed. He spoke. Aaron. Scarlet. Astral. These words held meaning to her.

This was her friend.

She returned to a natural standing position and smiled. ”Yeah, I got that feeling too. Nice astral, by the-” He hushed her. Her ears perked. A soft beeping noise. She nodded. He towered in front of her as if to protect her, but she knew she wouldn’t need it. Using her size to her advantage, she hid behind the Monkey King, ready to fly over him and into whatever lies ahead.

Then the beeping started.

”Yaaahhh!!!” she screamed and flew up and over him, flying head-first into the drone. Without hesitation, she grabbed the drone and tossed it at Wukong, hoping he was quick enough to swat it from the sky.

Yugo

Alexa began pointing back over to the enemy. She seemed to be doing something but as to what it was he didn’t know. Yugo used his sixth sense once more looking over to their adversaries once more. They were messing around with some type of machine, Yugo could tell as the silhouette was black with no form of Wakfu around it at all. It might not be a stretch to assume it's Alexa's robot given her astrals appearance. But this means that they were on the offensive and this was no time to let up the assault.

With his eyes still shut he maneuvered himself in-between the trees, he saw one of them had flown up to the robot...knowing one of them can fly is good info. Once he determined a fair shot into between the trees he spread his hands out creating two portals before bringing them together. When the portals lined up a blast of energy shot forward from where they were facing blasting through the tree, tearing through the branches, towards the flying target and the drone.

Wukong was surprised, but he had been trained as a warrior, and his reflex showed it. He brought his staff up and smashed the turret, giving it the chance to only fire once. The wild shot grazed and hit the tree behind him, exploding on impact and showering fire in every direction. The majority it missed the battler, igniting all the landscape around it when it went off. He paid it no heed, attention solely on the blast of energy headed for Rainbow Dash. "Watch out!"

He threw his pole in an attempt to block the laser, ignoring the pain flaring up from his injured shoulder. The staff flew true and the bolt of energy hit it head on and knocked it away, sending both it and the laser straight for the pony. The Buddhist eyes widened in horror. What had he done...

After seeing the smaller astral wisk off into the distance, she hissed under her breath in irritation...before the slightest twinge of loneliness struck her heart. Agh, nevermind that! She lost contact with one of her drones, meaning that her plan would most likely shoot straight down the gutter...that is-- unless she took a more stealthy approach this time around... Ah! Yes! That was it...she still had her second drone! 'Be...quiet...' She 'threw' her words out to the second robot as it swiftly crawled through the shrubbery, heading over to track down Wukong. This time around, however, her drone made no beeps...

She had to admit, the feedback imagery she was currently receiving from her drones was a little on the crappy quality side, but she just rolled with it, figuring that a blurry image was better than nothing. Indeed, due to the image being nothing but a shadow, she had no idea that a little crackling flame was beginning to kindle, as though it was ready to avenge the death of the drone...eventually.

”Huh? Yikes!” She hardly saw it coming. She tried to dodge both projectiles, and the staff thankfully missed, but the bolt of energy did not. It barely hit her flank, knocking her back and careening into the ground with a loud ”Oomf!” After a few moments, she slowly but surely rose back to her hooves. She shook out her tail and winced slightly, then smiled. ”Hehe, I’ve taken worse.” She rubbed her flank. ”Ow . . . you'll live,” she told herself and rose back into the air. She flew over to Wukong and hovered beside him, rubbing the back of her neck. "Hehe, sorry about tossing a drone at you. I just kinda . . . you know . . . did what my brain told me to, y'know?" She looked at his shoulder. "Guess I deserved that ball thing, whatever it was that hit me. But hey, if I can take a hit, so can you," she said confidently, jabbing him in his good arm.

Angelo smiled devilishly,

Angelo-Sure that'd be great.

He finished the rest of his food with such speed he'd put a professional to shame. He stood up quickly then realised once again he was still dressed in his pyjamas.

Angelo-Is it okay if I meet you there, I kinda need to change.

Before he could get an answer he moved quickly to the elevator. He pushed the up button, then he felt a pain in his chest, he put his hand against the elevator door to steady himself. His breathing grew heavy and he was about to collapse. A few more seconds of this passed by and the feeling dispersed. He looked around to see if anyone noticed, no one did.

Angelo-good.

Ding!
The elevator doors opened and inside he went.

Wukong nodded and summoned his staff to his hand, face blank as a slate. "No more talking, it's time to fight. They gave themselves away when they shot you." He pointed in the direction the blast had come from. "Follow me. Stay high so they don't see you." His staff was shrunken and put away, and he shifted into a bald eagle and took off into the sky without a word. He spanned the distance between them in no time, silently landing in the thick foliage of a tree near them.

He could easily make out which astral was Alexa's, they looked similar. She was taller than the young boy beside her, dressed in dark clothing that left nothing to the imagination. It slashed with her bright, waist length blond hair and luminescent gold eyes. She didn't appear to be that strong, but he had learned looks could be deceiving. One of them had created the turret with exploding shots, and she looked far more capable of doing it than the boy. If so she was much more dangerous to him, he couldn't stand fire.

In stark contrast, the boy beside her was dressed extremely bright colors. He wore a strange hat that nearly dragged against the ground, and had no weapon in sight. The battler guessed he would be the one that had fired the energy bolt, since he seemed to have no other method of defending himself. Of course, Clark was an experienced battler, and he wouldn't go down without a fight. Scarlet hadn't been battling that long, and would be at an extreme disadvantage. That left him to take on Clark, and hope Scarlet could hold her own against whatever the other astral had in store. He already knew what to do, he just hoped his partner would pick up on it...

He decided to delay no further, silently shifting back to himself and plucking a hair, which fell to the ground and morphed into a clone identical to him. The clone charged both astrals, shrieking furiously to draw their attention. He knew it could not seriously injure them, but he was already moving to circle around them using the foliage as cover. It didn't take him long to do so, and he lengthened his staff to the size of a totem, then jumped out of his cover and brought it down at both of them.

She nodded and flew after him, easily keeping pace, and landing as quietly and carefully as she could in the trees. From there she could see a strange, colourful boy and an equally strange . . . thing. She didn’t even know how to describe it. Some half-mechanical humanoid with antennae and long blond hair. She may not be the smartest tool in the shed, but Rainbow could figure out that this was the one who sent that little drone at them, which meant the other created the energy blast. She shuddered at the memory; she was fighting the mech.

Wukong plucked off a hair and sent a clone at the two as he looked around. She slinked back into the brush and circled the other way instead. She wetted her lips and crouched, wings spread, poised to jump into the fray. When Wukong leaped, Rainbow followed suit, pouncing onto her target with a solid punch aimed at her jaw.

No, no! This was not part of the plan at all! Then again-- was there really any plan to begin with? Within no time at all after the boy had fired the massive laser, she heard a rustling far off in the distance... and then.. felt a buzzing in her head, as though an electric toothbrush was scrubbing at her brain from inside her head. "Wh-...What is this--?!" Alexa growled under her breath, hands clutching at her antennae and holding them down. Well, that seemed to negate the effects of that weird, pinpoint of a weird vibration... It was sorta the same feeling she got whenever the silhouettes the drones recorded pulsed into the back of her head, but.. annoyingly continuous. With a groan of infuriation, she stepped back... the buzz was getting stronger, eventually feeling like it was directly in front of her...

...Then came the screeching. Just when she thought the 'nails on a chalkboard' moment couldn't get any worse. Her gaze swiftly panned skywards. Through the thick mist, she just barely managed to make out the shape of... a stick? The buzzing grew louder, as though screaming at her to get out of the way-- which she promptly did. Not knowing which way to go, she simply ran in a direction away from the pole, then swinging away from a blue hoof in the nick of time, disappearing into the fog through the thick path of folliage. Twigs snapped, leaves rustled, a soft orange glow began to build in intensity on the horizon... The backs of her hands burned like her mark did back at the terminal, for reasons she did not know why. Screeching to a halt to catch her breath, she plunked herself down by a boulder. Waiting for her exhaustion to subside, she winced and covered her face with a shaky hand as a bolt of orange energy zipped between branches, crawling back into her shell. The voice in her head returned... 's c r a p  m e t a l.' Just then, things began to make marginally more sense. Remembering the jerky movements of her hands performing actions on their own from the beginning of the match, she pressed in a button on her left shoulderplate, her shell creaking open to reveal... a part set for a new drone...?

She closed her eyes, feeling a very faint 'thump' at the back of her head that assured her that her second drone was still on the field... This may make things interesting. Nonetheless, she got to work on making a new drone to replace the destroyed one. To what may look like a complex piece of work, it somehow all felt like a four-piece puzzle to her. Giving her finished work a tap with her foot, it popped open, giving a friendly little whistle before skittering off to hide amongst the bushes. Ahh, she'd never get tired of that silvery little sound. "Now, what else can I build..." She lightly scritched at her chin with an orange-tipped metal glove, before-- 'claws.' "Wh--" 'c l a w s.' "What d--" 'D o t h e c l a w t h i n g' "What claw thi--" 'H U R R Y!' She felt dizzy in the midst of arguing with the weird little voice in her head, as though her soul was about to float out of her body. Getting ahold of herself once more, she swung her arms out. "WHAT CLAW THING?!" She roared, swinging her arms out to the side.. then, suddenly... the loud groaning of metal plates rung in her ears. Coursing up her arms, a raging torrent of fire shot out from her hands, crawling up her limbs ember by ember. Each finger became a menacing claw, and shadowy metal bloomed forth from the blaze. Before she knew it, one could say that she had gotten herself a pretty sweet set of giant honkin' gauntlets. "...Dude..." 'd u d e.' Taking a moment to marvel over the monstrous metal masterpiece as she looked down at her palms, she soon realized the threat at hand... a-- did she just almost get attacked by a flying blue horse? Was that the same one that fell from the sky like a bloody idiot? A new spark of confidence kindling in her heart, she sat down and waited...

Yugo

Yugo made a triumphant gesture after see his blast land its mark, at least the assumed it did since the silhouette fell. But there was no time to stand around and cheer, the silhouettes had already recuperated and heading in their direction and becoming clearer. One looked to be the size of a man but he has a tail? And the other looked like a small flying horse...well that’s just plain silly. At a time like this normally he'd begin movement but if he stops focusing on his senses then the range he can see will diminish and he'll lose sight of them. He'll have to wait and react depending on what they do.

Suddenly the man shaped one split into two, there doesn’t seem to be a difference between the two, cloning is so unfair. The clone or maybe the real one began to circle around them along with the horse while, the clone perhaps, remained still. Alexa hasn't seemed to realize they're being surrounded. Suddenly the one that had remained in its original position leapt forward from the bushes, it was a monkey, well that figures. At the same time the other two leapt out towards Alexa and Yugo. Yugo's eyes shot open, there wasn't enough time to react and save both of them, she'll have to handle herself for a bit.

Yugo after making his decision, quickly lifted his arms leaving one portal open in his hands facing the monkey attacking his back and throwing the other at the monkey charging from the front of him, allowing him to let the prime ape through and come out the other side . It shouldn't matter which ones real as long as one of them is hurt. Not looking back he began to move forward creating some distance between them preparing to open up another set of portals.

Angelo quickly exited the elevator and entered his hotel room. A few minutes later he came out dressed in a loose tie and blazer with a white shirt underneath that was missing the top button. The collar was up and his shirt was untucked from his dark navy jeans. He jumped to the elevator trying to put on his flip flops. Once again he entered the elevator and pressed the button leading down to the sparring room. His mind was aflight with all kinds of thoughts such as what astral Leon uses or how he fights but he knew right off the bat that Leon was much more experienced than he was.

A couple seconds passed and the elevator reached its destination. He walked out into the sparring room only to notice that there were quite a few people already here. Angelo went over to one of the machines and waited for Leon to arrive.

It was settled then: Rainbow was taking the mech. Her hoof had barely missed it's mark, but her ears perked behind her where sounds of rustled bushes and clanking metal came. She flapped her wings, dispersing most of the mist that lay between herself and her target.

And now the bush was on fire? Smoke pillared into the sky some 5, maybe 10 metres away. This was just bizarre, but now Rainbow knew one of the mech's weapons. Without hesitation, she leaped into the air, flew over the flaming shrubbery, and landed behind the mech, this time going up on her forelegs and kicking her in the back.

Leon finished his food and headed over to the sparring room. He was rather interested to see what his opponent's astral would be. He sure hoped that Angelo would pose more of a challenge than everyone he had fought in The Brotherhood. Upon arriving at the sparring room, he could see that several people were already battling. He walked over to the sync station that Angelo was waiting at and began to ounch in some settings. He selected the Championship Forest as their stage and looked over at Angelo.

"You ready?" he asked Angelo.

Just barely catching a whiff of smoke from the treeline, Alexa narrowed her eyes, lowering her hands so that the massive metal knuckles touched the ground. Though, surprisingly, despite their great size, they didn't seem to carry any sort of significant weight, though she could still feel a little extra 'pull' to her movements. "Wait, who--?" She just barely began to ponder over the thought of the orange glow among the mist before a whoosh reached her ears from overhead. Figuring that it was just the boy due to the lack of a warning buzz resonating inside of her head, she let out a sigh of relief.

However, the hum soon roared in her head... and then came a sharp pain with the clanking of metal. Stumbling forward with a grunt of pain, she was thankful for the thick shell on her back for taking the blunt of the hit. By goodness, that still really freakin' hurt, though! Turning around on a heel after the kick, she took a few steps back, swinging her arms down as she got into a battle-ready stance. However, this time, instead of the usual firey swing, the five circular vents on each of her broad metal forearm shafts puffed out a burst of flame, giving her a little bit of an intimidating flair, she supposed. To be honest, Alexa nearly spooked herself. "Well, you found me!" She shrugged, a smug grin plastered upon her face. "What're you gonna go, flap your little tiny wings and take a torpedo dive at me while I'm wide open in the middle of this clearing?"

Angelo looked at the console and back at Leon.

Angelo-Ready as I'll ever be, I guess.

He looked back down at the controls, not really knowing what he was doing. He mashed a few buttons until a big 'READY?' sign appeared. He took a deep breath touched his mirror shaped astral mark with one hand and pressed yes with the other. He felt his body lose its weight and almost start drifting away into a void, he felt his mind almost connecting with another and in less than a second Susanoo opened his eyes to find himself deep within a forest.

Susanoo-Most intriguing.

He drew his staff from his back and vaulted to the treetops. Hopefully he could get a better view of the arena and maybe a sighting of his opponent.

Rainbow, surprisingly enough, relaxed. "Really," she said, expressionless. "You're making it that easy for me? I mean come on, the last thing you should do is tell your opponent you biggest weakness. Now come on, let's go," she said, hunched over again and now smiling. "If we're going to have a duel, then let's duel!" She trod the ground, flared her nostrils, and stared her opponent down with flaming, passionate eyes.

At this, the white-pupiled astral roared into laughter, another puff of flame shooting out from her gauntlets, as though taunting Rainbow Dash. "If it's a duel you're looking for, then why don'cha come and get me already, you big blue buffoon? I'm waitin' for ya, and I haven't got all day!" The blonde called from across the clearing, intently eyeing the glowing plumes of smoke in the distance before returning her gaze to the pony. "What's the matter, ya scared of the big ol' flaming hands of death?" She gave her gauntlets a little shake to emphasize her point, the soot-stained metal rattling. "You ain't ready to... feel the burn?" Now, if she could just buy a little more time...

Susanoo felt mild vibrations which shook the trees and rustled the leaves. Loud stomping noises reverberated throughout the arena. Susanoo knew that whatever could make these noises had to be very large. He traveled through the branches of the trees towards the noises, staying as silent as possible. The noises grew louder and louder and then he saw it. a large hulking monster covered in thick plating with green flesh lay hidden underneath. Susanoo halted a couple trees away, masking himself in a shroud of leaves. He thought a surprise attack was his best bet at doing any substantial damage. Susanoo whispered to himself.

Susanoo-Large hulking body mass, mediocre speed, strength assumed to be substantial, avoid physical contact.

Well-- dang. There went her smug grin. With the roar growing ever louder, she shook her head as the buzzing returned. Though, it-- seemed to move about her head like a fly, slowly fading ou-- That was it--!! Those little dangly antennae were there to sense the location of the enemy! Taking a few cautious steps forward, she began to run in the direction of the buzzing, halting the jets of flames from her claws for now. Concealed within the bushes, the twin drones split up and ran ahead of Alexa, attempting to track down the source of Rainbow Dash. However, unlike their first ambush, they made no beeps, the only clues to their whereabouts being the clicking of their spindly little legs across the forest floor. To say the least-- it was only now that Alexa became truly aware of her newfound strength, bounding around the trees as she followed the buzz in her head. Though, once it became too loud to handle, she halted, scooting behind a tree truck as her golden orbs scanned about for any signs of the pegasus.

Gatillo began to grow bored of the fight, seeing as the fighters began to slow down, and he even noticed that they had began repeating tactics, and he had already pinned down how most of them worked. He left the area and began to stare at his map, trying to decide where to go to meet some battlers.

He eventually decided to go to the park owned by the Hotel, as it seemed to cater to Astral battlers, as it say it would be a good place to meet a few of your competition, and it even had a few machines stationed around the Park.

When he got there, he saw a girl sitting at the base of a tree, reading her map. He went over near her, and began to speak, hoping that the girl was actually a Astral battler."Hello! I'm trying to get some practice in before the battle's tonight, I don't suppose you would help me in this by fighting me at one of the stations in the park nearby?"

"I only have one shot," she said to herself. She could barely make out where her opponent was from her cloud perch several kilometers away. Acting on instinct and instinct alone, she put on a pair of aviator goggles, took one last deep breath, and jumped off the cloud. After a brief moment, she spread her wings and flew towards her, gaining speed, moving faster than she could have thought possible. She felt like her face was about to be torn off, but she kept going. She could see the mech now, and a mach cone formed around her.

And then she did the impossible: she performed the Sonic Rainboom.

The explosion shook the earth. Its shockwave could be felt - and seen - for miles. Behind her as she traveled lay a rainbow trail, and she was on a collision course with her target: the mech who shot her friend.

Gatillo smiled, walking over to the Sync Station. He began to punch some information into it, selecting the Champion's Forest as the arena. He decided to set a force sync timer, as they didn't have a referee to tell them when to officially sync. As he shifted his position to the other side of the station, closing his eye's as he began to get ready to sync as the timer began to get closer and closer to zero.

When he opened his eye's, his mind had began to meld with his Astral's, his mind beginning to get fuzzier with the second. He saw the forest from a much higher height than he was used to, and he was in a much larger body too. Under his right arm he held a barrel, and began to look around, before taking a sip from said barrel.

The creature seemed to notice him even though he had made sure not to be seen. It must have a keen sense of smell and also not half as dumb as he'd originally thought. It punched the tree with such force than the trunk snapped like a twig. So much for surprise, he thought. Susanoo quickly vaulted off the tree and brought his staff down on the creatures head but simply bounced off its armor. the vibrations caused through his hands made him temporarily spasm causing him to drop his staff. The staff was too close to the monster to risk retrieval. He scanned his opponents body once more and quickly noticed gaps in his armour. Unfortunately he cant utilize them without his staff, neither can he return to the treetops. He decided to turn tail and run in hopes of losing him and doubling back to fetch his weapon.

Wukong dispelled the clone immediately and somersaulted over Yugo's head, nimbly landing in front of him. "I don't like to hurt children, you can just give up now and we can do it the easy way." He shifted one leg out and bent his front knee, keeping his back foot slightly turned and his leg completely straight. His back was straight and he leaned forward slightly, poised to strike. His staff was pointed down towards his opponent, both hands no more then a fist length apart. "Or the hard way!"

When she opened her eyes she was in a forest. Looking at her hands they were pure black claws it looked like some kind of substance that just grew on her hands. She shook her head. This was no time for admiration. She spread her wings making a leap for the branches above her with one flap of her wings, slowly creeping along the branches looking around for her opponent. She then proceeded to lay low on the branch and await her opponent to pass by.

The small guy began to run away from him suddenly, but noticeably without his weapon.

"WHERE YOU GOING, LITTLE MAN?"

Nomad scooped up the half tree that he had cracked just a moment before, and, lifting it over his head with both hands, threw it at the man as he scurried away.

Her antennae flicked from side to side as a new sound reached her ears... the roar of a... jet engine? Quickly coming out from behind the tree, her thoughts began to race... What should she do what could she do? In a matter of seconds, she would be reduced to nothing more than a fine mist! Frozen in fear, she began to quiver and quake, as though her very blood ran cold... her very life-- no, every experience she had ever had in the arena flashed before her eyes in that very moment, and now it was all going to end... was she really just a little, useless brat after all this time.. and nothing more...?

Wait... the very first thing she did once she arrived in the arena... she still had a chance...!

With every once of strength she could muster, she slammed her massive fists upon the ground. The earth split along in a straight line, a series of massive rocks shooting up from the cracks in varying heights from largest to smallest. If everything went as expected and the pony could only travel in a straight line due to her incredible speed, this was it! her moment of genius! As fast as her legs could carry her, Alexa diverolled out of the way, springing up and beginning to run off into the forest once more. Without a doubt, travelling at the speed of light would most certainly cause a lot of damage to her opponent upon impact! Certainly, she may be able to punch through one rock with all that strength, so using one as a shield wouldn't be wise.. but could she punch through 16 more of them?

The astral grinned as she ran, ran, ran further into the forest, leaving the scene behind. She knew deep down inside, even if the pegasus managed to survive the impact by some wicked miracle of black magic... something waited for her at ground level. Deep within the bushes, the gun barrels of two drones began to whir...

A tree hurtled towards susanoo at breakneck speed but he knew it'd break more than just his neck. He slid to the ground and watched as the tree skimmed over him. He continued to slide until he hit the trunk of a tree. Susanoo realised then that one wrong step and it could end at any moment. He scrambled back onto his feet and began to run in a wide circle around the monster. Attempting to lead it away from his staff so he may arrive back where he dropped it.

This was it. Nothing could stop her now. Soon this mechanical menace would be nothing but splatter on the-HOLY FREAKIN' ROCKS!! The earth opened and shot a wall of rock from nowhere, directly in Rainbow's path. There was no time to stop, only hope she survived.

CRASH!! went the blue pegasus, rock and dirt flying every which way as she came to a grinding halt. She sat there, motionless and in pain. Everything hurt. Finally, the blue, brown, and red pony pushed herself off this horrifying mound. "AAAAHHHHH!!!" she screamed. There was no doubt that her wings were broken, and she unfortunately landed on them. She couldn't do anything but lay on her back, writhing in agony, praying it would end.

Gragas chuckled. His opponent hadn't showed themselves, which was giving him plenty of time to drink. And that's what he did. He began to walk through the forest, drinking straight from his barrel, the little feather on his hat twitching in the wind as he walked. He began to call out, as if trying to taunt his opponent, his tone being drunken and slurred... (No seriously it is slurred and drunken, I'm not THAT bad at spelling.) "Oi, whoever ya are... ya might want to git fazter legz. Yer too slow! Old graggy is gonna be outta drink before you git here..."

Yugo
The clone was useless, it disappeared before even going through the portal and now this monkey or whatever it is was sitting her making threats. This is clearly Aaron's astral from how he handles himself, it would’ve been easier to take out the pony first but this guy wont just let Yugo walk away. Yugo made a slight chuckle at the monkey’s silly pose and how serious he looked. “Heh, as if I’d just surrender." Yugo jumped back throwing the two portals he was about to use back at the monkey before moving around with his portals into a nearby tree above.

Then all of a sudden even through the treetops and rainbow burst could be seen. And it clearly couldn't be good, there was no time to waste on Aaron if, Yugo didn’t move then Alexa wouldn't make it. As much as Clark insisted not rush this match in Yugo mind, he couldn’t just trade blow with this guys while his teammate was in danger. Yugo ignored Clark’s warnings and turned to the monkey screaming t him. "Sorry sir but i can’t waste any more time on you." Blue energy began traveling towards Yugo and as he cast out his hands in a similar manner as he did when he shot his first blast, the portals he created were massive. He moved his arms letting the two giant portals crash into each other a giant blast of energy hurdled towards Aaron's astral.

Akumu's ears twitched when she heard footsteps. Then she heard a loud voice. She tried to make up what he was saying but most of it was lost in some kind of slurred tone. She looked at her opponent. Drinking something that had a strong smell of alcohol. Her eyes narrowed.
Drinking alcohol during a fight. What is he thinking?
Her ears lowered. As she carefully watched her opponent walk by. Voices in her mind called, they had all kinds of gory ideas. She shook her head. Charging her legs and claws with lighting. Dashing right for the drunk.
"Leave that drink for when you actually win!"
She growled in a menacing voice, going in for a jab with her charged claw.

Wukong raised his staff in attempt to block, but it didn't stop the blast. It ripped him off his feet, his staff flying wildly through the air as it was violently wrenched from his grip. He hit the tree behind him with enough force to splinter the trunk into a million pieces, and his armor from the waist up had been completely shredded.  The Monkey King had been severely injured, but he was far from down.

The injured astral slowly rose to his feet, his breathing labored. "Let no one say Son Wukong did not offer you mercy, kid." The Ruyi Jinyu Bang was back in his hand instantly, and the clouds above seemed to split as the fluffy golden nimbus cloud descended. The Sage leaped onto it without another word, and he hurtled toward the sky. His staff was already growing, far taller Wukong now, and by the time his ascent stopped it dwarfed very tree in the arena. "Never challenge the great sage, equal of heaven again!" The cloud dipped for the ground at unimaginable speed, and the stone monkey swung his enormous weapon straight at Yugo with enough force to tear the ground asunder.

Gragas didn't have time to react to the jab, he turned just fast enough for his stomach to take the blow, electricity coursing over him for a second or two, causing him to cringe. He did however shrug it offer rather quickly, though, swinging his free arm towards his opponent. The drunken man began to reply to his opponent, who seemed to be making fun of his tactics."Oi, I've already won though!"

"Oy."  A familiar voice called from the bushes. The crackling roar of the flames grew louder, louder.  The flames were rapidly approaching behind her as she emerged from the trees, an eerily calm smile plastered across her features... her face illuminated by the amber glow. With a series of beeps, the twin drones hopped out from the bushes. One skittered up to stand at Alexa's left side, while the other took the right. "Some fancy flyin' there, slick." Now just standing a few feet away from the battered and beaten pony, she chuckled softly as the branches whipped around violently in the breeze, burning hunks of wood toppling over and popping, releasing flurries of embers into the air, swirling around her like a luminous bizzard. Yet still, despite the blaze, she stood still. "Not too shabby for our first fight either, I'd say." Slowly, she raised a massive metal claw, but-- she did not swing it down and swiftly end the pony's life.

Instead, she kneeled down, gently brushing a single finger over the horse's blood-soaked mane, as though attempting to calm them down. A rather unsual, yet kind move for someone to perform on somebody they were supposed to pretend was their sworn enemy for the next few minutes. "In fact, I'd say you've done a swell job, and it was a pleasure getting the chance to meet'cha... perhaps we'll see eachother at the tournament sometime..." Bowing her head respectively, she slid shut her golden orbs as she raised herself to her feet, backing up to stand between the twin spider drones once more. With the flames at her heels, now, she raised her hand to perform a little salute, with a smile as warm as the Blackforge Rift itself. "Stay gold, friend." was all she said before snapping her fingers.

With a whistle, the drones opened fire.

Akumu ducked, one of her top horns got hit by the fist and broke off.
Damn. If he hits me with that I'm done for.
She backed off considering her options. He was rather sluggish in movement, but his reaction was quite fast for a drunk. A cold feeling crept over her arms.
I guess I just gotta be faster and keep moving...
She snorted angrily and then dashed in for another flurry of attacks moving around quickly attempting to get behind him.

He soon had an idea, his drunken mind slowly thinking the idea through as he soaked hits. He arched his shoulder down a bit in front of him, and began to rush towards his opponent, as if trying to slam into them.

Rainbow stopped squirming when she saw her. She may be immobile and on the verge of death, but she was determined to go out with dignity. She spat out a mouthful of blood and gritted her teeth, staring into those big orange eyes. And she burned holes into them when that giant claw was raised. Her quiet defiance was her last bit of pride in her defeat and she was going down with it.

But the end did not come. Her hand came close to her face and she snapped at it like a wild animal. But the hostility was not returned. This mech - this girl - acted kindly to Rainbow, and she felt it was sincere. Her expression softened, and under the blood and the dirt was a mare like her, looking for another friend in the world. All her feelings toward her, the great bloodlust, undying rage, everything she felt before was gone. She smiled as warmly, knowing she would die at the hands of an opponent worthy of her victory.

She closed her eyes.

Scarlet awoke in the gym, somewhat confused and disoriented. She tried to walk but found it awkward and difficult. The sudden urge to get on all fours overwhelmed her, but she soon found that this was not only less desirable but also quite embarrassing. Thankfully very few paid much attention since she was not the only one. She saw one boy specifically try to flap his arms like a bird, much to the amusement of his friends.

She looked back at the machine and immediately felt an adrenaline rush just thinking about it. On the screen showed Wukong battling the energy dude, with her own opponent ready to join in. This was not a dream. This is real. "That," she said, pointing at the machine, "was really f*cking cool."

Akumu was caught by surprise and was knocked back by the big belly falling backwards. She hastily bounced off the ground with her tail to remain straight up.
"Tch..."
It was frustrating how her attacks did little damage. Voices whispered once again.
"Shut up..."
She mumbled to herself just out of earshot. She wasn't really sure how she was gonna deal with this. Full out offense seemed like the only option. She channeled all the energy she had left in her crystals and became entirely cloaked into lightning. The air charged with static, making crackling noises. She then proceeded at lightning speed in an attempt to get to her opponents back hoping to strike with all the strength she could muster.

Yugo

Launching his blast Yugo gave a triumphant smirk hoping down from the tree to see if his ally was alright. Then a familiar noise hit his ears the same one that he heard at the start of the match. When he turned to see where it came from all went black, it was all up to Alexa now...oh god this isn’t gonna last long.

Clark Matthews

When his eyes finally opened he was back in the sparring room. He had a bit of a migraine but that’s to be expected considering what happened. A moment such as this Clark's glad the actual matches are just one on one fighting with a partner makes Yugo take to many chances.

With a series of clicks, the twin drones ended their shooting, tilting up to look at Alexa intently, and whistling as they waited for their next command. Though, she said nothing as the bullet-ridden mare's body dissolved into wisps of energy. The she stood, watching them waft up, up, up into the sky, fading into nothingness. However, just as she saluted up to the sky, she became aware of the roaring flames once more. Unaware what her drones were fireproof, she swooped up once under each arm, making a dash off into the... non-flame-riddled woods. With fire licking at her heels, she zig-zagged through the woods until she came across a rocky clearing. Here, she hoped would be safe from the blaze for a while. "Well I'll be..." she huffed, setting the twin drones down. They scuttled about for a few moments, before going into what seemed to be a wee bit of a 'standby' mode. "How many bullets even are in these things?" Alexa kneeled down to one of the drones, attempting to pry a plate to see what was inside. The drone kicked about and hissed in disapproval, squirming away from her mighty grasp and heading back to patrolling the area.

When she least expected it, a mighty boom shook the earth, a buzz of shattered energy hummed through her mind, gargantuan claws clutching at the earth in an attempt to keep herself from toppling over, she looked over to see more wisps of energy curling up into the sky from the treeline. Yet, the buzz that signified the enemy was still there, which meant-- "FRIEND!!" she cried out, only to clap a hand over her mouth as the massive cloud of dust settled upon her... and so did the realization... the monkey man was still alive. Sure, her antennae weren't entirely accurate on that monkey man's current location... but, why not? It was all a game after all, right? Shrugging her shoulders, she followed the buzz inside of her cranium towards the monkey man's location. She thought back to when the flames touched her heels yet didn't sting whatsoever.. maybe...she was..fireproof?

Just then, she pulled something... a little crazy. You could slap 'Stayin' Alive' over this next scene as she strolled though the forest to a funky beat in her head, slashing her arms left and right and deliberately throwing fire in the direction of random trees once she felt the buzz inside her head get at its loudest, meaning that Aaron's astral was nearby. Next, the two drones hopped up onto her shoulders, staying put like two perched birds. With a whistle, she waved towards Wukong. "OY! Monkey butt!" She hollered towards the weakened astral. "How well can you...dance?" curling her fingers to beckon her opponent forward, her drones hopped down from her shoulders, skittering about rapidly into the bushes, moving about in erratic patterns. Occasionally, one or two would leap upwards from the bush, as if trying to taunt Aaron. "Because... baby, I'm on FIRE!" Alexa grinned as she held her arms out to the sides, jets of fire shooting up like blowtorches from the vents on her forearms.

Wukong forced himself to a standing position, coated in a thick layer of dust, and spit at Crab. "It is cowardice to fight a wounded enemy!" His eyes widened slightly when she started shooting fire, everything around her blazing up instantly. He jumped backwards and took shelter in the crater of Nimbus Strike, safely tucked away from the forest fire raging around him. The crab would have to follow him to defeat him.

"I've already made my move on the lil' blue dude, and I ain't afraid to make my mark again!" She smugly remarked, beginning to follow the monkey through the blazing trees. 'Do the crab thing.' ...The voice had returned. At the edge of the crater, she screeched to a halt. "The what?" 'Do the crab thing.' "Wh--" 'w h i s t l e .' The tugging sensation on her mind returned once more-- a dizzying, sickening feeling. Groaning in irritation at the maddening voice inside her head, she decided to go to heck with it, and whistled as loud as she could manage.

Somewhere off nearby, the twin fidget drones perked up and whistled in reply, bursting into flame... great. Just as Alexa was rubbing at her temples and ready to accept a bloody defeat, the blazing spheres rose into the hair, making a cloud clattering noise as they shot into the shell compartment on her backside. With a yelp of shock, she stumbled a few steps forward, only to find her feet touching... air...? Indeed, she was floating, and the whistling of the drones did not cease, changing in pitch as though they were singing a strange alien song. The scrap metal automatons suddenly split up into bands of pure energy, whistling...singing... they spread out, surrounding her body in an endless white void for what felt like forever...

CLUNK.

When she opened her eyes, she was met with a three-panel screen, a helmet upon her head... and a leather seat.. sweeet! But, uh-- just where was she, exactly? She looked up to find a fourth screen above the others, noticing that it was a nifty third person view that shifted about the scene.. was this the live view of what others were seeing right now? She clenched and unclenched her fists, a loud clatter followed. She did it again whilst looking up at the screen, noticing that her hands were controlling...claws... She leaned a little forward in her chair, six spindly legs trudged forth through the trees... "The crab thing..." She whispered under her breath in awe. She couldn't believe it, she was controlling a giant freakin' metal crab right now! "Uh-...Ok! Um-....move forward and-... find the monkey!" She hollered to nobody in particular. With a lurch, the hulking metal behemoth walked over to the pit. However, much too big to scuttle inside, it halted, experimentally jabbing a massive metal leg down into the depths.

Just when he thought he was safe, an enormous metal leg destroyed the ground directly beside Sun Wukong, sending him flying. He recovered midair, landing safely a good ten feet away, and stared in amazement at the monstrosity above him. It towered over trees, and the ground trembled when it moved. Without his staff, he stood no chance of fighting it directly. He had to find some other way, and he only had one way of going about it. He plucked a strand of his hair and dropped it. It immediately took on his image, right down to the shattered armor and wounded shoulder. "Go up there and distract!" The clone saluted and jumped out of the pit, charging the crab and swinging his fake staff wildly.

The real Monkey King shifted into an eagle and flew high above the robot, hiding himself within the dust and smoke. His vision was highly obstructed, and he was forced to swoop dangerously low to get a good view of the robot, but he found what he was looking for: A hatch on the top of it which, if he pried it open, would presumably give him access to his opponent within. He made one more round to make sure what he had seen was corrected, then landed on top of the crab and shifted back into his normal form. It was abnormally smooth, and he struggled to maintain his balance while he held onto the hatch. He pulled with all his considerable strength, hoping to tear it open.

Ha! Oh, what a show! The tiny monkey dancing about caused her to roar into laughter, nearly enough to rock her straight out of her chair. Carcinus swayed left and right, before wildly jabbing its front set of legs about in hopes to hit the target...that she did not yet know was the right target "Oh--...Good god, you're so tiny!" Alexa snorted. Though, on the upper screen, she soon squinted her eyes once she caught sight of...a bird? The scritching of the metal roof above her head was nearly too much to bear. However, was she was NOT expecting was for the hatch to suddenly fly open. Whipping about in her chair, she got up to her feet, trying to catch sight of the intruder through the dim red light of the room. "Oh, COME ON!"

Wukong grinned down at Crab, eyes glowing through the smoke. "Nothing stops the handsome monkey kin-" The enormous mech shook suddenly, and the monkey fell down into the cockpit with a screech. He landed hard and flailed out wildly, striking out at anything that seemed like his opponent. His heavy blows shattered anything they touched, be it wires or radars, and it continued until he finally found his opponent.

The Great Sage reeled back a punch with all his remaining strength, which indefinitely packed enough force to rip clean through her unprotected stomach. The punch flew, a blur that the crab would have no time to stop... and then Aaron woke up, panting heavily and covered in sweat. "Gah, close!" He offered one hand to each of his opponents, smiling. "Good game! Was it anything like what you expected, Alexa?"

She laid her head on his chest and laughed hysterically. After almost half a minute she finally settled down to light-hearted chuckling. She pulled back from him, smiling ear to ear, and wiped her eyes. "That was the most fun I've ever had in my entire life."

Gragas continued to soak hits, pain coursing through his body as he did so, but he still kept on trucking. If it wasn't for his size, the electricity might have done him in, but, luckily for him, he was a big man, and the electricity didn't make it to his heart. Akumu reacted too late when the arm came swinging her way. She had just enough time to block it with the scales growing on her back which broke on the impact and sent her flying against a tree. She breathed heavily. Regretting she put put full force into her blows. The crystals on her claws stopped glowing, depleted from their magic. Along with that the whispers had become louder. Almost deafening. Combined with the pain in her back which started bleeding.
"N-no..."
She cried weakly while forcing herself not to cringe. She knew she had no chance anymore with the lack of lightning her movements would be too slow to dodge, but she wasn't going to give in she would never want to die without having atleast try to prevent it. Crawling back up she stood her ground, beckoning her opponent to try and finish her off taking a fighting stance.

Shock jolted into Alexa's heart as the intruder stormed in, the emerald orbs beaming through the shadows being the herald to her death. "B-..Wha.. but you were right there-!!" She looked over to the screens, screaming in disbelief. Before she knew it, her equipment was smashed left and right. Control sticks snapped, beautiful decorative orange glass panels obliterated into a fine powder, even her precious leather chair torn to bits! Anger swelled up faster than the flames coursing through the forest, anger equivalent to two people in a fiery rage screaming at once. Carcinus's stance wavered, legs giving away as circuits ripped out. Her gut pulled as the floor fell with her beneath her jet-black boots... WHAM! Before she knew it, she had rolled across the ground smacked directly into a wall, right into the path of the monkey king's next swing. Her livid demeanor swiftly dissolved into an expression of helpless horror as the fist swung down...

However, when her eyes cracked back open, she felt nothing. There she stood again, among the endless white void... no-- she was falling. She opened her mouth to scream, yet let out no sound fell out as she plummeted down...down...down... The invisible blaze roared into her eardrums as memories of the battlefield swirled through the air like frameless TV screens. The lake, the boy with the portals, the pony, the monkey, the fire, the fog, the mech...the falling...falling... She looked down at her hands to find that they were claws no more, the sight of pale flesh reaching her eyes instead of the powerful sheen of metal she had expected. The roar grew, the roar grew... Alexa snapped her gaze upwards to meet with one final scene-- The clawed girl from the forge. Illuminated by the torrents of magma oozing down the walls of the cave, she stood, hunched over with her head jerkily moving in her palms as she stood at the sight of the shattered gargantuan crab. Was she...weeping...? She reached a hand up to the screen, out to the girl in desperation for reasons she did not know why... her heart hurt, her chest stung... or-- were these feelings not her own... Perhaps... did astrals feel the same emotions that humans did--?

Thoughts fading away into nothing, her vision flashed white before she finally met with the floor, the silence suddenly cutting away into the usual chatter of the sparring room. The surge of energy and the rush of confidence was gone. She was no longer the girl from the fire, just plain ol' Alexa...and nothing more. She slowly looked down towards her quivering hands, taking a moment to clench and unclench them, pinching her arm to check both that she was still alive and that it wasn't a dream. At the sharp jolt of pain that followed, she said nothing, only looked up to see the screen that flashed [WINNER!] before her eyes. "Did I--?" Still getting used to hearing her own voice again, she silenced. God, everything was just too surreal for her... Despite the hooping and hollering of the crowd cheering around her, Alexa did not seem to be amused in the slightest. Stumbling her way back over to Aaron and the others in a lazy fashion, she narrowed her eyes with a groan as the rumble in her stomach returned. Although reluctant on doing so, she reached the hand with her astral mark forward to accept the shake, quickly taking notice that the flamelike flicker of the seal was... much more... tame, was that the word sye was looking for?

"...I have so many questions."

Gragas began to laugh as the other slammed into the tree, sure, he would normally feel bad, but right now, he felt victory was within his grasp. He began to take a sip-Or rather, a few large gulps from the keg, his mind getting blurrier and blurrier as the seconds went by... And then, he did it. He did the one thing he had to not be thinking, to do. He threw his cask at his opponent with all his might. He began to speak after he did so, his drunken words coming out rather loudly. " 'Ave a drink!"

With firm movement she smashed the barrel with one claw, tearing through the wood like paper. The contents splashed over the humanoid dragon drenching her in alcohol. The strong smell already made her head spin and the alcohol felt like burning agony on her wounds. She still attempted to stand her ground. But her concentration was off due to the many different senses invading her mind.
"No good..."
She growled.

Gragas began to laugh, and then go to get a sip of his cask. But there was one problem with that, you see, because he had thrown his cask at his opponent. Upon realizing this, he made a bit of a low grunt, realizing what he had done. He seemed to go into a rage, his strength and defense increasing a bit. He arched his shoulder down, And began to charge at his opponent, as if in an attempt to end the battle.

Akumu held her ground as she saw the big man rushing for her. She did a last attempt to stop him, breaking her arms in the process getting forced into the tree which groaned and splintered on the impact. The astral dissolved after she gasped her last breath.

Yui opened her eyes. The feeling of pain was so real, but it disappeared so fast when she synced out. She was kind of happy she could fight someone beforehand. Realizing she had some serious flaws in her strategy which she needed to fix up.
"Thanks for the opportunity to practice. I learned a lot from that."
She said with a smile.

As most of the battles were now coming to an end, Rika was stunned. Everyone here seemed to be amazing fighters. To say she was impressed would be an understatement. From start to finish of the first sparring match, Rika's eyes were glued to the screen. Subconsciously, she began to study their movements to try and figure out their strengths and weaknesses alike. One of the scenes in particular stood out to Rika - the battle between what seemed to be a pony and a humanoid crab. In the end, the latter won due her quick-thinking but she couldn't help but feel threatened by these people. Both of them were...dangerous. Just watching them 'practice' made Rika feel uneasy. Could she really fight these people? Did she possess a talent for fighting?

Snapping back to reality, she realised now that she could finally meet her opponents. It would be wishful thinking to believe that they could all get along but it couldn't hurt to try, right? Rika sprung to her feet with new confidence in her heart. Hopefully this would outshine the rest of the depressing thoughts that seemed to plague her as of recent. "It shouldn't be too far from here now. I've walked all this way, so I should be close!"  With that proclamation, she continued to march forward towards the gym, at which she'd be arriving very soon.

Perhaps there, she may find what she's been looking for - a sparring partner.

GM post
The battle between Angelo and Leon abruptly ended, both of them being immediately shoved out of sync. Leon didn't say anything, a winner symbol on the screen in front of Angelo, Leona stood there with a blank stare, before collapsing where he stood. Staff from the hotel came out to get him, before speaking. "Ah, sorry about that, Mr. Angelo sir. Leon here was testing some technology for the tournament owners, it seem's to have had some after effects on him. We're sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused, and we will now take him to his room. Sorry, and as always, have a nice day."

As this little...Episode happened, clocks everywhere turned from 11:59AM, to 12 PM. Meaning there were now 6 hours until the fighters would be gathered for the event. Would Leon be back in it for the fight that night? No one knows... But he probably will be, right?

Participant post

Gatillo seemed to stagger a bit as the battle ended, going from drunk off his rocker straight to being fully sober always disoriented him... After sitting there dazed a bit, he looked at the other fighter, putting his hand out as he began to speak. "Indeed, that was a good battle! I learned a lot from it too!"

However, as he said these words, countless thoughts on what he had learned began to stream through his mind... "Their Astral seemed to be dragon based... I would have liked to been able to study their tactics a bit more, and see what those gem's truly did... However I can guess a few things... I'm willing to bet her electricity was linked to those gems, but she seemed to be in pain at times, before I had even attacked... Something was off about that Astral... However, I think I'll leave it alone, I should learn more tonight, during the fights."

Aaron chuckled. "Yeah, I figured as much. I knew you were in for a big surprise when you called the sync station a conso-" He was cut off violently by Scarlet, shaking him and breathlessly shouting about the battle. She eventually ran out of air, laying her head against his chest and laughing hysterically. The battler stood there awkwardly, unsure how to react to the invasion of his space. She stayed pressed against him until her laughter subsided, and then pulled away. "Glad to know you had fun in your first battle."

Alexa paused, grimacing slightly as she stared at the back of her hand. Even though she had the slightest twinge of joy in her heart after knowing that she had won the battle, something clearly just wasn't sitting right with her. "Uh-- excuse me, uh-- Aaron!" She finally managed to raise her shaky voice a little, the unease now visible in her cloudy amber orbs. "Quick question..." After a long pause, the blonde took a deep breath, shaking the sleeves of her hoodie slightly before speaking up once more. Sheepishly scratching at the back of her head, her gaze shifted off to the side. "Did... you guys get any weird flashing images like a silent movie when you went into the machine? Uh-... that... kinda looked like those Astral dreams? And-- furthermore... Um-- uh... how do I put it..." Whining nervously, she scoured her thoughts for the best word choice she could manage. Looking left and right, she scooted forward and lowered her voice to a near-whisper, as if afraid that her next phrase would bring havoc upon the hotel. "Did...any of you guys hear a voice like your own...trying to talk to you...?"

"Ah look at the time, I could go for some lunch!"
Before he could answer she already ran off back to the hotel bought herself a sandwich and sat down at one of the tables. The room was now pretty much empty, and breakfast had been cleaned up. She decided it would be best if she went to the sparring hall to come up with some more tactics. She wondered if she could channel her lightning spells to lash out to enemies instead of cloaking her limbs. She absentmindedly ate her sandwich.

She nodded. ”Oh hell yeah. I can’t wait to go again,” she said, still smiling. Then she realized how close she was to Aaron. She blushed and took a step back. She looked away for a moment and rubbed the back of her neck. ”So, uh . . . now what?” She glanced around at the other people in the gym. A few looked away very suddenly when she met their gaze. She seemed to become smaller than she already was, her red face shrinking into her black hoodie.

After an awkward moment, she looked at Alexa and regained her composure. ". . . y-yeah, I kinda did. Like, rainbows and stuff. I remember falling too, and then hearing laughter . . ." Her voice cut short. Her mind was going a hundred miles a minute, and her expression slowly changed to show her understanding. ". . . like Rainbow Dash. So my dreams were about my astral all along? Were they even dreams?" She sat down on the nearest machine, seemingly overcome in shock.

With heavy, rasping, breaths, Rika came to a halt. She really wasn't cut out for exercising or anything like that. It was a mystery to her how she was so skinny. It's not like she looked after herself particularly well. In all her years, she nurtured her mind more than her body, so it only made sense that she'd be weak, physically speaking. "Even still...it probably...wasn't a good idea...not to exercise...ahh...", she said, clearly enervated from this small walk. Hopefully, fighting in the arena wouldn't be as tolling on her real life body, but nothing that convenient ever happens, does it?

She had arrived at the gym door. This was it. She was about to come face-to-face with her future opponents. Her body was quivering. She wanted to make good first impressions on everyone so she took a deep breath to calm herself down, allowing her to appear more composed. Rika flung the door open louder than she actually wanted to and stepped in to the gym hall. Without thinking, she bowed over, almost instinctively, to introduce herself.

"I'm Rika Akagi. It's a pleasure to meet you all! I look forward to, uh--", Rika stuttered. She wasn't sure what to say next as she never planned ahead this far. "Uh...Uh...", she looked up helplessly, "I look forward to fighting you all!"

She realised how badly worded this sounded, and she covered how mouth. Great. Now they'd all think she was a total klutz!

Aaron opened his mouth to spew more useless exposition, but he was cut off by a teenage girl bursting into the room and yelling out an introduction. He returned her enthusiasm ten fold, running over to her and offering his hand. "I'm Aaron Stillen, nice to meet you too! I'm here to win the tournament!" His voice was near a shout, and the smile that lit up his face would have blinded the sun.

Alexa shook her head softly. No, no! She did it again! She made someone upset, didn't she? Oh, no no no no no-- Leaving the sparring room behind, it was only now that she realized she was in her pyjama-clad state. Goodness, sake! It was noon, and that was certainly no way to spend the day! One swift trip up the elevator and down the hallway brought her back to her hotel room, where she promptly swung the door shut and got dressed into her REAL outfit for the day. Black hoodie, grey sweatpants with a neon yellow line down each leg, striped sneakers, and-- a headset? Ah, yes. The headset she places upon her head to avoid conversation, of course! Brushing her golden locks, she thought back to the arena. "That... girl in the fire..." She mumbled to herself, "Or-....volcano cave or whatever..." Looking down at her hand, she gave the astral mark a couple taps of her finger, surprised at how warm it was after the battle. "...What do I even call her...?" Looking back up to the mirror, she twiddled with a lock of her hair, thinking back to the mech. "Goldilocks...? N'ah, too girly... Crabby? N-..no, that's kinda rude...Goldy crab? Eghhh..." She hobbled over to her bed as she pulled her black glove back on to conceal the astral mark, sitting on the edge of the mattress and looking out the window. "Well, three parts... Gold...lock...Crab..." Suddenly, something clicked in her head. The mark on her hand began to hum.

Narrowing her eyes at it, she decided to repeat the term again, as though the two were connected. "Goldlock...Crab...?" The hum became louder. Did it... like that? Well-- ok, it was a little weird, but... Oh, gosh. Before she knew it, a smile creeped upon her face. She just needed to test this out... "Goldylock!" her hand grew colder. "Aaahh..." Intriguing, indeed. "Very well, Goldlock Crab it is!" A few-second roar surged into her ears as her hand grew hot, causing her to yelp like a bloody idiot and fall backwards off of her bed... embarrassing. Swiftly, she pulled off her glove to check to see if her hand was ok. The seal wasn't warping like the shimmering air above a BBQ now, so.. she supposed that was some progress. Instead, it was little more than a faintly flickering scar. "Well, better than nothing." She shrugged as she brought the glove on one last time, heading out the door. She supposed she had plenty enough battles for today, so she figured that she might aswell head down to the plaza to see what was there. What could possibly go wrong? Though, as she set out into the square, the back of her hand began to buzz again. "Agh--... come on!" She harshly whispered under her breath, grasping her wrist. Though, soon, she felt a pair of eyes set upon her. Pausing her little moment of freakout, she looked up to see a girl clad in a purple hoodie that resembled an iPod. "Uh-....hey."

Rika stood up properly, his confidence allowing her to overcome her embarrassment. "Aaron, huh? That's a nice name!", she said, trying to emulate his enthusiasm. He grasped his hand, weakly at first but then tightening a little so she, at least, appeared to be more confident than she was. "And good luck with that!", she smiled, sincerely at him. When Rika looked into his eyes, she had to admit that she got lost a little. She hadn't seen eyes with such happiness before and they felt quite...'enchanting'.

"Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to stare at you for that long, I just thought I saw something..I, uh...never mind.", she mumbled a little before looking around to see the other people that were there. "I, uh, saw you guys battle. I was quite impressed, if I do say so myself.", she said to them as a group, desperately trying to change the subject.

Jade Johnson
Jade had been in the Plaza for awhile, since breakfast even. She had been sketching a... Person, that her mind kept clinging too, that her mind kept bringing up. That was, until she saw someone. She didn't know this person, and the girl she saw didn't remind her of anyone... But... The mark on her Ankle, began to pulse with a low pain when she saw the girl, as if reacting to the person... But... It had to be her imagination. The mark wasn't sentient, it couldn't, be sentient. It signified she was an astral fighter. Nothing more... That's what she wanted to believe. But her foot continued to have the pulsing sensation, it even caused her to have problems walking as she got up to go greet the person the mark seemed to be reacting to... Then, the girl did something Jade hadn't expected. She greeted her first. Jade began to speak, her voice seeming a bit strained, or even surprised. "H-heyo."

Gatillo Vollerei

Gatillo nodded as his former opponent began to run away, before he began to realize the time. He would normally have gone to eat lunch, however, he had ate a late breakfast, and wasn't hungry. He began to stroll through the park, thinking about his game plan for the next few weeks.

Although Alexa knew it probably wasn't best for her to intrude on other people's things, she was-- secretly about as fascinated in little sketches or doodles as videos games... which is a LOT, mind you... despite her lacking of any real artistic talent. "A-ah, sweet! What'cha drawin', there?" She piped up enthusiastically as she scooted closer, attempting to get a better look at the other's sketchbook. Though, the closer she got, the more the back of her hand heated up, until she could've sworn it was about to burst on fire.. even moreso than when she was at the sparring terminal. Hoping that the bustle of the daily crowd would drown out the energy humming from her hand, her eyes fell upon the drawing of a... weird...bunny girl...? Okay, it-- "Ah-- that's pretty cute did you draw that yourse--" Suddenly, out of the blue, the melodious tone emitting from her glove began to pulse, crescendoing into a fiery shriek. At this, she quickly shied away, patting the back of her hand as though she was trying to calm it down. "S-...s-so so sorry!" The girl yelped, wondering why her damn hand was making such a ruckus.

Jade seemed to stagger a bit as the person began to invade her personal space, especially when they began to ask about what she had been drawing. She began to attempt to hide the drawing, but to no avail as it slipped from her grasp and hit the floor, for the world, or rather, this person she had just met, to see.

Jade began to cringe as the other began to look at her artwork, fearing a bit of backlash towards her style, or criticizing how she went about some of the anatomy, or even just complaints about the subject matter... But, what she received, was far different. What the girl who had began to look at her art gave her, was praise. Something she was not used to being given.  "Y-yeah, I drew that. I-"

She was cut off as the girl she had just ran met's hand began to make an odd, rumbling noise. Without even thinking, she ran over to the person, asking a question as the mark on her foot began to increase in pain.  "Are you okay? Do I need to get you help?"

"A-ah! Sorry about your book, I-I-I--!" When the sketchbook toppled to the ground, her voice got even shakier by the second. Agh, great--! She just ruined somebody else's day, didn't she?! Before she knew it, a purple blur charged towards her, causing her to 'panic squeal' like some sort of...dying rat. However, she did not receive the enraged fist to the face she was expecting, but rather-- concern? Gah! She couldn't believe it! How could anyone possibly be concerned about someone as foolish as herself? Scrambling to regain her balance, she swallowed hard, hoping for the best. "N-n-n-no, no! I'm fine! Gee, uh-- lovely weather we're having today, eh?" Her abrupt changing of the topic and awkward laughter certainly were not helping as she pulled her gloved hand up her sleeve to hide the glowing fabric... "T-the sun is shining, t-t-the birds are-. . . .shoot. . . .u-uh..."

Jade to stare a little confusedly at the girl, as she could still very plainly see the glowing, and hear the odd noise, but she seemed to be trying to change the subject. Now, a normal person, would have given the normal answer, of continuing and letting them change the subject... She didn't. She began to speak, a questioning tone as she began to kneel down and pick her  sketchbook up, speaking to the other girl.  "I... Don't think you're fine. Your hand is making an odd sound and glowing, and you're acting weird... "

Something about this entire situation made her uneasy. Something about the girl intrigued her, but how the girl was acting, made her even more curious. However, the part that seemed to confuse her the most, was the fact that her ankle was now constantly pulsing with pain, a pink glow dimly showing through her shoes, socks, and jeans. She began to speak, a question that would cause her ankle to react even... Worse.  "H-hey, can I check your hand? I want to make sure you aren't hurt or anything. That doesn't look good."

The roar of the nonexistent flames surging into her ears was unbearable. Although she figured the blunt of the sound could only be heard by her due to the lack of turning heads among the crowd, she couldn't help but look around to check from time to time to see if anybody was trying to grab a fire extinguisher. Though, soon, her eyes wandered down, catching sight of a blindingly bright pink glow shining from the girl's pantleg. The sudden dizziness building in her head caused Alexa to sway ever so slightly and clutch at her head. "N-..No, no! M-..my hand's... fine... O-..ok maybe n-..not... just-- Don't laugh at what I'm about to show you..." She huffed, "If you promise not to scream or think I'm crazy..." Slowly, she reached down a shaky hand to remove her glove. The burning was unbearable, and she couldn't believe that her hoodie wasn't combusting by now. With a flick of her hand, the article was removed, and she thrust her seal-branded hand directly into the girl's palm. "BEHOLD--"

Little did she know, she had no idea what happened when two young girls with astrals from the same world collided... Once could say, she dun' goof'd.

Clark Matthew

Clark left the sparring room with a pleased smile. Learning about his opponent's astral is indeed an excellent gain before the tournament. Although they also know about Clark's astral now but he shouldn't have to worry too much about that. 'Scarlet's astral's a horse, besides being able to fly there not else to it. Alexa seems more complex but she shouldn't pose that much threat as of current. But Aaron's astral, Wukong was it? He's a bit of a problem resilient with a large skill set but he seems limited in ranged attacks, so at least there's that advantage.' He thought all this to him as he exited the sparring room, his thought were interrupted as he noticed a sudden sense of hunger. Clark hadn't eaten all day and considering its past noon it’s about time he did.

Jade staggered for a bit as she looked at the other's glowing hand, her ankle's pain increasing with the moment, until she took the other's hand... And then, it happened. A thin, burst of yellow and pink light seemed to flash, and the two human's were knocked to the ground. Now, a normal crowd, would be confused by the entire situation... But, given the location, this seemed to be a normal happening, as none of the other's nearby paid it any mind. They just continued on with their day, ignoring the flash of light. The teenager seemed a bit... Surprised. She slowly got up, her ankle doing a slight glow, however, the pain seemed to have faded away. She slowly began to speak, a bit of a... Confused tone, going out.  "H-hey, you....You have any idea what just happened?"

...Great, just when she thought her day couldn't get any worse... suddenly, explosions. Having been sweeped right after feet and not able to recover herself midair in time, she found herself smacked down onto her back, coughing at the cloud of dust she had sent up into the air... not the best remedy for one who had nearly gotten the wind knocked out of their lungs. Still sputtering as she shakily rose to her feet, Alexa checked herself for any signs of injury before heading over to the emeraldette. The roar was gone for now, but-- she could've sworn that it sounded like joyous squealing for a split second as it faded out... "Oy, you ok? I'm not sure what that was, either...but--..." The blonde paused, slowly reaching into her pocket to retrieve her glove.Well, uh-- Did you get a good look at my hand on the way down?" She joked, attempting to lighten the mood despite the pain in her back. There had to be a bruise somewhere along there by now...

Susanoo was abruptly pulled out of the arena. This came as a shock to Angelo, he woke up breathing heavily. He looked over to Leon who was lying on the floor. Angelo began to panic, a few guards came and pulled him out of the room saying something about technology testing but he knew something was terribly wrong. After the guards had left Angelo just stood there staring at the ground where his new friend had been.  he then looked towards the machine, a big WINNER sign on his screen. That was no win. A few other people were talking in the battle room but he didn't feel like talking. tears welled in his eyes and he quickly ran out. It was lunch time. But Angelo was not hungry.

Scarlet overcame her shock and stood up again, muttering something under her breath. She saw how Rika looked at Aaron and made a note about it. She wasn’t quite sure how to feel about this black-haired girl yet, but she didn’t think it would turn out well in the end for anyone. ”Thanks,” she said coolly. ”I’m Scarlet, by the way. I was the flying pony who got mauled by a wall of rocks,” and she extended her hand out to her. Even if Scarlet knew how ridiculous that statement sounded, which she did, it didn’t look like she cared. Her expression revealed nothing of her thoughts toward this young girl: talkative, enthusiastic, and possibly her competitor on two fronts instead of one. But not only did she think these two would be fighting for more than the Astral championship, she looked forward to it. Never in her life did Scarlet want to fight, and the urge to win was even stronger.

Aaron nodded. "Thanks, I was the Monkey King. Disapointed I lost, but guess they just played better than us in the end." He glanced over at Scarlet as she approached, intrigued by the change in attitude. "Is that how the crab girl beat you? I just saw a big flash of light, distracted me enough for the little portal guy to get me by surprise." He grinned crookedly. "Got the little bugger though, no chance he could dodge the Nimbus strike once he used all his energy. Did anyone see it? My rod was freakin' enormous!" He hadn't realized just how bad the phrasing was until he had already said it, and he clammed up immediately afterwards.

Jade seemed a bit... Calm, considering the events that had just transpired. She didn't even know why she felt calm, but something about the atmosphere was a bit nice. She even began to smile a bit at the other's joke, before looking to the other's hand before she could put the glove on, trying to get a better look at the mark... But, she couldn't make heads, nor tails about it, assuming it to be an astral mark of sorts.  She began to answer the other's question, before posing one of her own, a bit of a joking tone to hers.  "Yeah, I'm fine. You alright too? Your hand still attached?"

She began to think a bit, before rummaging through her sketchbook. This person she had just met seemed trustworthy, so why not let them in on the reason she was here? She pulled what seemed to be a poster for a shop, or an ad, with the day's date on it, and the time '3:00 PM', and the words "Grand Opening" on it. She began to speak, posing yet another question to the other.  "There's a new game shop opening here soon, I was about to go get some lunch while I waited on it to open. Want to come with?"

Rika nodded her head, "It's a shame but I guess it can't be helped. Better luck next time, maybe?", she replied. Rika watched as the red-haired girl approached them almost feeling an impending sense of doom as she got closer. She extended her hand to meet Scarlet's, shaking it firmly, "It's good to meet you, Scarlet...That's also... a pretty name.", she complimented, trying to ease the tense atmosphere between them, although it appeared to be futile.

Now that she had met these two formally, maybe she could ask one of them to spar with her? Then again, they just finished fighting so they must be exhausted. Not to mention, it was also lunch now so there was no way her request would be granted. Well, there goes that plan. Rika thought to herself. Oh wait...Bingo!. Rika had thought of a foolproof plan! She would just ask them if they wanted to have lunch at the hall where they could socialise more. While there, it'd be the perfect opportunity to ask one of them to be her sparring partner, right?

"Hey do you guys wanna--", she was cut short by Aaron's words. To Rika, this was totally out of context as she was thinking about her own plan rather than listening to Aaron which was probably rude of her. "H-Huh? I-I never saw something like that!", she exclaimed. She then realised that she was blushing a little, so, naturally, she covered her face with her hands.

For the first time in near-eternity, most of Alexa's fear seemed to fizzle out into nothingness once she pulled her glove back on, leaving her with just the slightest shiver of social anxiety trembling in her chest. "All five fingers of it!" She couldn't help but burst out into a fit of loud, tomboyish cackling for a couple seconds; the whole hooping, chuckling snortfest  that nearly swept her off her feet again whilst reacting to her own humor. The exact opposite of a silvery giggle, one could say. Though, before she could wipe the tears of laughter away from her eyes, she heard the rustling of the poster. Her gaze snapping over to meet with the colorful graphics and flashy words scattered across the display, she was powerless to stop the squeal of excitement from leaving her lungs. "HOLY COW! A-...A game store... Right here?!" Though, whilst dreaming about getting her hands on a brand new video game title or shiny action figure, the rumble of her stomach was compelling her to grab a bite to eat... in the most un-subtle of ways. "Uh-...I mean-...sure thing!" She slowly brought her grabby little hands away from the poster, shoving them back into her pockets. "Where we headin'?"

Angelo went straight to his room after the incident and found himself lying on his bed thinking. I'm sure its not that bad, I mean, its not like he's gonna die or anything. I wonder if he'll drop out, I'll have to see if he pitches tonight. Angelo pulled himself together, he wasn't prepared for this but neither was he about to let this get him down. He has preparations to do, places to see, people to meet. But he couldn't help but think, if he were to collapse out there, would they just carry him off and cover it up, saying it was no problem at all? No, he had to think positively, he didn't have time to get down.

Angelo-Cmon Angelo, one battle at a time.

He got out of bed, cleaned his face and walked out. He didn't feel like lunch so he decided that taking a break in the park might be a good idea, but he also wanted to check out the plaza. After a short time and a meeny miney mo session he decided that he really did need a break. So off he went to the park.

"Thanks," she replied as she returned the firm grip. For a split second, when she looked into Rika's eyes, she let her composure slip for a short second, and her competitive edge revealed itself to her opponent. Her passionate gaze ignited the air between them, her warm smile turned sinister. But then she was back to her expressionless, neutral self. She could almost ref Rika's thoughts, how she connived about keeping her away from-the f*ck did Aaron just say?

There was a brief moment of silence. Scarlet looked at Aaron, who had a hand clapped over his mouth, then Rika, eddo was trying to cover her blush, then back to Aaron. Her quiet composure was breaking up into fits of giggles and she too shrunk back a bit, trying to hide away her smile. Now all three had hands over their mouths, embarrassed, blushing, and trying not to laugh.

Aaron took a moment to regain his composure and fight down his laughter, his face still red as a tomato. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that! I was talking about my super, the one I used to execute Clark! Wukong makes his staff huge and then slams it into the ground, it destroyed an entire section of the forest!" He reenacted the entire ultimate through frenzied hand movements, raising both arms to the sky and slamming them down, his chest puffed out to make him seem larger.

Rika listened to his rather messy explanation. It made sense to her now but she still couldn't help but feel embarrassed. What else was there to feel? Yes, she remembered now what Aaron's, or rather, Wukong's ultimate move was. I can't believe I thought...Agh, just forget it Rika! She still wasn't exactly sure whether to ask them out for lunch but it'd suffice as a subject changer to get rid of this awkward atmosphere. She cleared her throat to speak.

"W-Well, since that's been cleared up, I was gonna ask you two if you wanted to have lunch? With me? I'm sure we can discuss more interesting things there...and get lunch of course.", she giggled.

Aaron nodded, absentmindedly rubbing his growling stomach. "Sure, I haven't eaten since yesterday." He glanced over at Scarlet, then realized Alexa and Clark had disappeared. "Uh... Guess they already went to lunch. You in Scarlet?" He hoped she would say yes, she was fun to have around and talk to. "I still need to explain that astral battling stuff to you anyways!"

Yui watched people walking in the restaurant one by one. Though mostly just absentmindedly staring not actually seeing whose coming inside. She was kind of worried about how her astral was doing. The voices she heard during the last battle were somewhat creepy. And she wondered if her astral suffered some kind of schizophrenia hearing voices in her head. She didn't seem like she got a lot of company after all. She didn't notice most of the contents of the sandwich had dropped on the carton that was offered with the sandwich. Taking a bite, realizing she only ate bread. She quickly reassembled the sandwich and took another bite.

Still smiling, Scarlet nodded to Aaron. "Yeah, sounds good." She would rather have gone back to her hotel room and let her nerves calm down in peace, but he was too much fun to be around with and she didn't want to seem rude. A sense of nostalgia washed over her briefly. If she was back at home, it was nothing more than a few words and everyone would understand. But here . . . she shook her head subtly. No. This is her home now. It will take some getting used to, but she'll get through it. With a smile, she waved towards the cafeteria. "Shall we have lunch than?" she asked and starting towards the door.

Rika smiled gently at Aaron. He had given her a chance: a chance to socialise like a normal girl, and for that, she was grateful. "Let's go then~", she chirped cheerfully. Now that, *that* had gone according to plan, she reflected upon her feelings. I...usually find it difficult to talk to others but that seemed like a piece of cake... am I getting better? Or was it just a fluke?...

Another thing that she would have to consider was those strong emotions she felt when she looked at Aaron. What exactly was that? She felt energised by his smile. In a way, it seemed supernatural, as if something was trying to connect with her. She wanted to give it more thought but it seemed that they had already arrived diner.

Huh? That was strange. Rika had sworn that it took her longer than 10 minutes to get to the gym yet, going back, it seemed like just a few steps. Oh Well. Time flies by when you're having fun I guess.

The cafeteria bustled with battlers young and old, noobies and grizzled veterans. Aaron didn't recognize any of them, but he promised himself by the end of the tournament they would all recognize him. He was pulled from his reverie by Rika's words. "Sure does, now lets chow down!" He made a dash for the salad bar, shoving his way through the line and grabbing a plate. He piled a mountain of lettuce, hard-boiled eggs, chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, and cheese precariously high on his dish, then grabbed the bottle of Italian dressing and doused the salad in it. "Oh, almost forgot!" He turned and grabbed a cold bottle of water, then made his way towards the nearest empty table. "You guys coming?"

Yui kind of was staring at the guy at the salad bar stacking his plate with a large pile of food. She somewhat remembers someone stacking that amount of food before during breakfast.
Large appetite I guess... Who am I to judge, anyway.
She took another bite from her sandwich looking a bit around. It had become busier over time. A lot of people probably left the sparring room by now a good time to head for the sparring room. A good time to test out some new things she came up with during lunch. She finished her sandwich hastily and then made her way to the sparring room. When she entered the guards just looked at her.
"Er... It's fine, I don't need a sparring partner for practice on this one."
The guards just simply nodded. Yui headed for one of the machines. She skimmed through the stages and decided upon the Championship forest. It was perfect for when she needed a target. And if she needed some light it would be easy to fly above the treetops. She synced in, closing her eyes. Instantly feeling the cold rushing through her body. It was worse than the previous time and she heard a lot of whispers passing by. When she opened her eyes she stood in the forest. Spreading her wings wide lifting off into the sky. The voices died down and the cold feeling retreated to her blackened claws. She then proceeded to practice what she had in mind.

Scarlet had turned around for only a second it seems, and when she looked back at Aaron he had a pile of food as big as her head. Her jaw dropped. When Aaron asked if she was coming, she nodded slowly, closed her jaw, and grabbed a few things that made her plate look like a sampler compared to Aaron's. She still looked impressed when she sat down at a table finally, making sure there was enough room for the other two. "How are you going to eat all that?" she asked.

"Like this." Aaron held his fork aloft, then dramatically impaled an enormous portion of lettuce and shoved it into his food chute in one fell swoop. Sauce dribbled from the corner of his mouth, and he wiped at it with his sleeve and waved his fork at Scarlet. "Be amazed by the master!" He scooped up another chunk of his salad and devoured it hungrily, already gazing at the salad bar like a forlorn lover. "I think I'mma need seconds, all that battling worked up an appetite!"

Angelo walked around in the park for a bit, whistling with his hands in his pockets. It almost felt surreal, where he was. He had been given such a big opportunity to shine and he'd better not blow it. I don't think I get a second chance. The park was peaceful, the distant sound of cars felt almost nonexistent and the hustle and bustle of the hard working citizen melted away into a melody of bird chirps and rustling leaves. Angelo felt extremely calmed, enchanted and... *grumble* hungry. He hadn't realised it but it had been quite a while since breakfast and although the happenings of today tried to put him off food, his stomach testified starvation. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to grab a bite. He moved swiftly through the park towards the hotel, tie flapping in the wind. When he reached the hotel he quickly entered the diner and bought a small sandwich with only lettuce, mayonnaise and two slices of cheese. It smelled and tasted strangely like a burger. Angelo didn't feel like eating in the diner, no, he didn't feel like people today. He decided to go back to the battle room where it was slightly quieter. As he entered he found a quiet corner to sit and started to nibble on his sandwich. Looking up at the spectator screens he found one following a dragon-like girl.

Angelo-Hummmm?

Angelo sat there intently watching the screen.

There was quite the selection at the dinner hall but that wasn't exactly surprising, considering that this was a buffet. Rika hadn't exactly expended much energy in the morning for practice, so she felt only a little peckish. She took a ham sandwich for some lunch, along with some orange juice which she estimated would give her maximum efficiency later. When Rika turned around and saw Aaron's plate, she was surprised at first then amused. Aaron was a fun person but there was no doubt that he was dangerous. She'd have to keep an eye on him when they started the real thing.

She returned briskly to her seat along with Aaron and Scarlet and sat in silence, listening to the two of them as she ate her meal.

That's quite the appetite you have Aaron...!, she thought. Rika couldn't believe that the tournament was only a few hours away now. It almost seemed like a dream...but clearly, this was the real deal. She'd have to be prepared.

Scarlet looked at her plate, some fries and gravy, a few vegetables on the side, and a can of pop, then at Rika’s, which didn’t seem much bigger, and back to Aaron’s. ”I don’t understand how that’s possible,” she said to Rika, ”I mean look how thin he is.” He must have a wicked metabolism, she thought to herself while munching on a carrot. She rested her chin on her hand and looked longfully at her fries. ”I miss Kraft Dinner,” she said to herself. ”And poutine…” Sigh.

GM post

As the the day went on, the clock hit six PM, and the guards seemed to rather abruptly come to collect the participants, with, or without their consent, and no matter what the other was doing. The guards would then, walk them to the fighters to the Arena, or Coliseum, or stadium, etc. Where they would lead them to the grounds within the stadium. Within the grounds, there were several machines set up, enough that all the participants would be able to sync up against one opponent, and duke it out for the fights. The crowd roared as the guards took the fighters to the openings, and would allow them to walk out. On each machine, there were two name cards for each fighter, and the announcer began to call out names as the doors opened, announcing what was going on, and the match ups.

"HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE GALACTIC TOURNAMENT! The announcer bellowed, the crowd giving a resounding yell of excitement, to which you could barely hear the announcer over. Today marks the first day of the fated tournament, and boy, is it a good one! I'd announce all our fighters in, but first I'll have to go over some rules. Nothing big, but it's for legal purposes. The first part of this tournament, will be single battles, one on one. The winner is awarded two points for each win. At the end of the week, the points will be tallied up, and based on your points, you will be given a gift certificate to use at the Galactic  Tournament gift shop at the end of the week, However, the winner of the tournament, will be given the title of Champion, and, as I'm sure you know, will be given a handsome sum of money. Now then, one last thing before we get started- The announcer's voice seemed to get quieter, as he began to speak, his speech pattern speeding up. "We here at the Galactic tournament, are in no way or form liable for injuries sustained due to the tournament, and in no way take responsibility for any loss of item. You are not guaranteed to win any sum of money, and money will be given to you within 4-6 business weeks after winning."

The announcers voice, or rather microphone, seemed to get louder as he finished the sentence, beginning to announce the match ups, which then began to be shown up on the large screens above each machine.

"And the Match ups are:
Steven vs. Jade, And Discord vs
...Er...How do you pronounce this? Nafe? That's how you pronounce it? Aright. NAFE!

Yui vs. Angelo, and Akumu vs Susanoo!

Ag-Agh-Aw come on... The seven year old Vs.  Alexa, and Lulu vs Crab!

Rika vs. Aaron, and Newstein Vs. Sun Wukong!

Gatillo vs. Raithen, and Gragas Vs. Yugi Moto!

And last, and possibly least, but most likely not least, is Clark vs. Scarlet, and Yugo vs. Rainbow Dash!

The crowd erupted with screams and yells of excitement, the entire atmosphere was a very hyped experience, and this was no exception. The machines began to light up, the names of the fighters appearing on the different screams above the arena, giving the crowd knowledge as to which machine to watch for which fighter... And then, it was left to them. The guards began to inform the fighters to walk to the machines, and let the referee's sync them in.

Kyran
The guards beat furiously on the door of Kyran's room, insisting 'Raithen' attend the tournament tonight. He took one last drag off his cigarette, then snuffed it out in the ash tray. 'Raithen... What an obnoxious alias.' Exhaling heavily, he pushed himself out of his chair and grabbed his grey hoodie. He rummaged through the contents of his pocket. 'Lighter? Check. Cigarettes? Check. Room key? Check. I should be ready now...' Sure he had everything, he slipped on the hoodie and shoved the door open. The guard stumbled backwards in surprise and Kyran shoved past him, stalking towards the stadium. His hood was pulled all the way up, and he kept his eyes trained on the ground the whole walk.

He arrived in time for the announcement, and his nose crinkled in surprise when his astral was called. 'Who the f*ck is Yugi Moto...?' It didn't take the teenager long to recover from his surprise, and he stepped up to his sync station. The referee, a balding man dressed in a striped black and white shirt, stepped up to him.  Kyran glared at him passively, face obscured by his hood.

"Yur gonna be patted down now Raithen, we gots make sure ya don't have no weapons. The old man motioned for the guard to come, and the big man behind him dressed in a security uniform stepped forward. "If yur real quiet this'll take no time at'll, just let the big fella here do his job. Okay? The teenage battler had but to nod and the guard began to manhandle him, looking for any weapons. He stopped at his pocket, reaching in and grabbing the Zippo™ lighter. Kyran seized the bigger man's wrist roughly, knocking his hood off in the process. The mark on his neck flared a dark purple, and the referee eyed it and then waved the guard back. "Let'm have it, it ain't hurtin' nobody. Yur good, go ahead and step up to the station."

Kyran stepped past without protest, shoving his lighter back into his pocket and pulling his hood up, then taking his place at the sync station. The glow from the monitor contrasted sharply with his mark, which shone through the collar of his hoodie like it wasn't there. He pressed the correct buttons and placed his hand over his throat, then looked at his opponent and spoke. His voice was rough and scratchy, and he wasted no time getting to the point. "I am ready."

When Yui just about synced out the guards motioned her to follow him to the stadium.
"Yush, I've done everything I can for now. Let's do this."
She followed the guard. Just about not bouncing in excitement. Once she entered the stadium she was amazed by the amount of people gathered together. Her heart was pounding with excitement. She looked around and found her name at one of the sync stations. She immediately rushed towards it. With a big grin she waited for her opponent.

Right in the middle of her visit at the game shop, Alexa's eyes widened once her eyes fell upon a certain object of interest. With a sharp gasp, she could hardly believe what her golden orbs fell upon... so much, in fact, that she just had to whisper it to herself, reaching grabby hands out to the glass display case. "N-...No way! A super-rare-ultra-power-packed-one-of-a-kind Galactus man figurine!" She looked a little closer, then gasped again. "A-...and it's 70% off... and in mint condition!!" Just as she was preparing to fish her wallet out of her pants pocket, she felt a sharp tug on the hood of her coat, and heard a disgruntled apology and something about a tournament under their breath as she was dragged out the door. Pawing at the air towards the figure fading off into the distance, she let out a dramatic "NOOOOOOOOO", which, to an outsider probably just sounded like angry whining. For some odd reason, all the while, the back of her hand burned in the same way it did when she first ran into Jade... Though, in the hum emitting from her hand sounded like a more angry one...

Before she knew it, she was at the arena. The crowd roared in her ears, soon followed by the blaring of the announcer. With a wince, she covered her ears partway. Enough to dampen the occasional screech of microphone feedback, but lightened up enough that she could still make sense of what was being said. Though, when the voice got quicker, she lowered a hand. Being one to pick out only a handful of details at a time, she didn't manage to get the whole scoop on what the man had said. Something along the lines of-- injury? She simply shook the thought off, figuring it was probably something like 'batteries not included'-- wait, that wouldn't make any sense, either! Eventually, she found out the hard way that she had been staring up at the screen for too long, and that the dumbfounded-est of looks must have been upon her face. From out of the blue, she was snapped out of her trance by a reassuring pat on the back by the guard, to which she prompty turned around on a heel to face them. She could've sworn that she caught sight of a glowing green eye and a thumbs-up before the guard just... 'whooshed' out of existence, was the best way she could put it. No, seriously. She heard but a swoosh as she blinked, and then they were gone! Geez, was this all just some big, crazy dream?

Then, the giant cube-shaped screen hanging from the center of the stadium flickered on like some sort of ominous UFO above her head. It was at that moment that she realized that this was the REAL game. When Jade's name was announced, she focused all her attention on the giant screen. Like some sort of 'VS' menu, Steven and Jade slid onto the screen with a pretty basic drop animation. Then, a few seconds after that, a powerful slash on light swooped down either side of the screen, displaying their astrals with the sound of a slashing sword. "Wait-...Jade's an astral battler?!" She screamed out, even though her voice was easily drowned out by the enthusiastic roar of the onlookers. "And that's--..." As the white glow faded out, she screeched even louder as Nafe was revealed. "And that's the girl she was drawing this afternoon!!" As the crowd's joyous screeching increased in volume, she felt the back of her hand buzz at the mentioning of Nafe's name. In the midst of throwing her own fist in the air and cheering with the crowd, ranting about how cool her new friend was, she made a sudden realization that somewhere down the line, she'd have to- Alexa suddenly spaced out, her attention whipping back to the screen once more once her name was called. "Ag-Agh-Aw come on... The seven year old Vs.  Alexa... "Oh, so that's why they asked for a picture of me when I entered the hotel..." The blonde mumbled... "Ah-- hey, I don't actually look that ba-- Wait, a seven year-old?! Can't they at least just say her name?" Her shoulders slumped forward in slight disappointment. Though, then came the astral splash screen for Lulu. "And I'm fighting a magical midget!" She jutted her hands out in disbelief for emphasis, letting them fall back to her sides once more. In a roar of flame, the mysterious girl from the volcanic forge made her way onto the screen. The shining armor, the massive claws that could crush someone in an instant. Yet, behind all that bulky, soot-stained armor, her frightening factors were mellowed out by her shiny leather coat, flowing golden hair, and-- those strange, otherworldly irises with white pupils and concentric rings. Ok, she wasn't sure what to categorize those eyes under, they gave her the damn chills... wait-- the eyes. Nafe had them as well, and-- she could've sworn that the flash of green also-- Ah, screw it. She brushed the thoughts off the side because-- Holy heck, Goldlock Crab... Looked so cool!

When the rest of the astrals were being announced, the buzz from her hand was gone, save for the brief moment where Sun Wukong's name was announced. Out of curiosity, she gently raised her astral mark up to ear out of curiosity, hearing what seemed to be a hiss and angry crackle of flame. Ah, wait a moment-- Wasn't that the monkey man that tore into her mecha crab thing? Well, she was certainly glad that she wouldn't have to fight him tonight, that was for sure. Not knowing what to do about her angry little hand, she just gently pat it until it calmed down, perhaps like she was trying to snuff out a flame. Well, for the time being, it seemed to work. Last but not least, when Rainbow Dash came onto the screen, another memory poked at the back of her head. The astral mark hummed again, but-- this time in a pulse that slowly faded out, as though it were laughing... well-- that was the first thing that came to her mind, anyway. Just then, she gently nodded, remembering the sparring events that had happened that morning. "The rocking horse..." she cleverly thought up. Just then, a loud boom echoed through the ceiling as several spotlights came on, shining over six syncing towers. They were almost just like the ones over at the sparring room, but-- jet black, with circuitry pattern-shaped holes running up the sides. At the core of the tower shaft, she assumed there has to be either a light or a cylindrical screen of sorts, for each tower glowed in the color of the astral they were assigned to. Going with the feeling in her gut, Alexa made a start for the yellow tower, stepping up the the circular platform illuminated by a glowing disk of light that faded and flickered like flames. Oh, she could only imagine how awesome must have looked! Though-- that's when she realized she was shaking, just like she was this morning. Great... Grasping onto one of the handrails beside her platform for support, she paused, tilting her head up towards the ceiling. She had to assume that the black surface was filled with thousands of fibre optic clusters, for the ceiling was flickering like a swirling sea of stars, and that wasn't a side effect of her about to faint from stage fright. Staring deep into the dots of light, she felt a sudden sense of calm, like the one she felt at the split second of her soul being sent into the astral realm. Holding onto that feeling, she felt a burst of confidence fill her quivering, hunched over self.

Just like that, she pulled herself back to her feet with her newfound strength, she looked up to see her monitor lowered down on a robotic arm, powering on immediately after it came to a stop. Similar to what the stadium screen had shown, a blazing fire animation filled the screen, all of the stats of the user interface flickering on moments later. In the center of the display, Goldlock Crab stood in her splash screen pose, the astral's name in sharp, gold-colored letters above her. In the bottom right corner, an orange circle held a 3D rotating icon of her astral mark, the crab. In the left panel, the stats were displayed. Good strength and armor ratings, but the speed was rather average and the health was... frail, if she ignored the armor bar added on the end. A tank with a weak spot she had to protect with her life, that was for sure. Wait-- the drones... this was a whole new type of class... engi...tan...a...Tankineer? Yeah, that sounded about right. In the right panel, her abilities were displayed. Fissure, Sear, Mist, Fidgets,  Crab Claws, and... the ultimate ability, Carcinus. As cool as they sounded, she couldn't help but notice the several shaded-out spots and glitched-up text. Putting her finger to the screen, she scrolled down, down... Attempting to tap on each ability to read their information, she was honestly not that surprised to find that the shaded ones refused to bring up a popup window. It was then she thought about the 'Galactic gift shop' that the announcer had mentioned. Well, she'll be. Aaron was right, it was just like a game, right down to the upgrades. Though, she also took quick notice of how little segments of the shaded ability icons glitched themselves onto the screen, like something was trying to force them into being available. Huh. Weird. Bringing her gaze back up to the center of the screen, she realized that Crab's splash screen was... a little bit more animated for the syncing tower, for some reason. Alexa assumed it was probably just done by done CGI genius, but she could have sworn that it blinked.. or that those weird, amber-colored orbs were following her... Moments later, her opponent was walking up to the other side of the tower, circuitry patterns colored an icy blue in great contrast to the fiery colors on her own side. Just like that, a low crackle of fire began to roar in her head, rising with her anticipation to head off into the battlefield. Leaning over to the side, she couldn't quite see the interface screen for Lulu, but she tried her best to strike up the slightest bit of a peaceful conversation. "So, uh-- this your first time out battling?" She asked with a sheepish grin, trying her best to ignore the sound of her astral mark as she removed her glove in preparation for syncing.

Full Battle Post

Gatillo walked up to the sync station, a bit sluggishly. The atmosphere felt hyped, but he felt off, he didn't feel...Hyped, which was odd. He should have been feeling happy, he was about to see many Astral's, many unique forms, but he could only feel like his luck was off. The guard shook him down, checking for any weapons, but before long let him through to his sync station, as he only found a journal.

The crowd began to roar as the two fighters began to walk up. The announcer commented on the fact that this was the first of the night, and it was one 'Yugi Moto' against one 'Gragas'. The human's in this fight seemed irrelevant, as no one cared about them. Everyone was excited, however, to see the fight that was about to happen. The announcer's began to bellow, announcing the two names of the fighters, and rattling off their fighting techniques... However, you barely hear him over the roar of the crowd, which would cause even the deaf to want earmuffs.

He raised both of his arms as the sync station's displayed the arena information, and then yelled something that would signal the two fighters what to do. "SYNC!" As the older referee stopped speaking, the machine between the two began to make an odd noise, and the marks began to glow a brighter color than normal, signalling one touch to sync... And so, that's what the fighters did.

The moment Gatillo heard that word, he tapped the mark on his arm, his conciousness being removed from himself, and instead, being melded that with the drunken slurr that was Gragas. He looked around the area, and nodded, realizing he was in the forest arena, the same he had been in awhile ago. His mind began to crank a bit, processing the area, before talking, expecting the fast and agile Astral he thought he had seen.  "Heeyyy, you should come fight me, mannnn."

Kyran tightened his grip on his mark and an unearthly energy surged through him, his entire body glowing with the dark power. He grinned crookedly and cackled in delight as his vision faded, and he heard a voice in his head.  "Hehehe... It grows weaker with every time..."  The deep, raspy voice sent a terrified chill down his spine, and then he was in the dark forest. He was no longer him now, no no, he was him. Hehehe... He was the strong him, not the weak him... He was hungry.

The slurred voice that echoed through the forest attracted his attention, and he licked his lips then scrambled forward with a strange, quadrupedal gait.  "Come here, him will fight you. Then he will cut you up and eat you... Hahahaha!" He covered the distance between them quickly, and as he lunged out into the clearing all the light in the area seemed to vanish, plunging them both into pure darkness.

The drunken man heard the voice somewhere through the forest, and began to, albeit, somewhat cautiously drink from his barrel. He began to look around, the forest getting a little fuzzier with each passing drink, but then, something that would make him a bit...confused, happened. He heard breathign all around him, and the area around him began to darken, until he couldn't see a thing. He began to thrash a bit, yelling a drunken statement as he did so.  "Ai'm not black out drunk yet...! Where ayre ya?"

Zeta began to prowl in the darkness, savoring the flavors around him. The world tasted heavy and bitter, and the pungent smell assailed his nose. Him liked it, it gave the kill more flavor...  "I'm right here, ehehehe..."  He drew the tips of his claws across the fat man's  juicy neck, then slid back and chuckled softly.  "You have to keep up for this to be fun, or else i'm gonna have to kill you. Kill you dead, hahahaha!"

The Drunkard froze for a short second the moment the claw slid across his neck, a chill going down his spine. He turned with surprising speed towards where he thought the claw originated, and he almost out of habbit for this maneuver, swung his barrel down, to smash it on his opponent, but something in the back of his mind, was screaming for him not to do it... He instead, swung one of his arms, drunken yelling as he did it.  "Keep up? Ai can keep up with da grog, I can keep up with you!"

The meaty fist smashed into Zeta's face, and he staggered back, then grinned maliciously. His razor sharp teeth glowed in the darkness, stained crimson by his previous meals, and blood dribbled down from his busted lip. His tongue slithered out, lapping up the blood like candy  "Ahahahahaha, now I know how I taste... Lets see if you're any different!"  He propelled himself off  the ground, and snapped at the  drunken man's right bicep.

Gragas froze with fear as he saw his foe's face. He had faught barbarians, an ice queen, an many more, without fear. He had fought a bear, and attempted to stop a war. He had even fought a dragon,  and a large worm like creature ultiple times his size, and stood up against them without any hesitation... But this. This made him afraid, this, terrified him. This...Freeze, this, slowness of action, is what stopped him from dodging, or even attempting to punch his foe's teeth in. He cringed and staggered as the teeth dug into his flesh, dropping the barrel, the cask rolling a bit to the side. He attempted to swing his free arm at his opponent, trying to stop the assault.

The punch connected with the back of Zeta's head, and he grunted and fell back. His entire face was painted with blood, and he noisily smacked on the flesh of his opponent.   "If only you were as tough as your meat, then this might be a challenge..."  He swallowed the last bit his meal, then smacked his lips. "Mmmm, him likes." He flexed his claws and bared his chompers.  "Time for seconds!"  He fell into the darkness, lurking around and waiting for an opening. Everyone presented one at some point, all he had to do was be there to eat...

The drunken man looked around. He carefully looked around as his opponent left him, and began to grab his right arm, looking around. He felt...Enraged, he felt....Terrified, but most of all, he felt something he never thought he would feel again... He felt....Sober. He let go of his arm, and his normally happy face, was an odd change from what it normally was, now, he looked enraged. He quickly grabbed his cask with both arms, and rather than doing his normal shtick of drinking, he watched, and waited for his opponent... He was going to bring the cask down, not for no other reason, than he was angry. Something had set Gragas off, something had made him lose his drunken manner, something had made him sober... Fear, does strange things to people.

Zeta crouched behind him, salivating at the thought of a meal the size of his opponent. He could see every straining muscles in the fatty's back, every bulging vein in his neck, the blood that gushed from the wound on his arm... It all made him hungry, so very hungry... He couldn't wait any longer... He had to eat.  "Agh!"

His body began to convulse fiercely, seeming as if something was trying to rip it apart from the inside. Bony wings tore from his shoulder blades, his claws lengthened until they were the size of short swords, and his face was slowly peeling away to reveal something far more sinister. The skin underneath was like warped leather, with an enormous pointed beak and six glowing red orbs. His voice came out as a high pitched shriek.  "I'm so hungry, AHAHAHAHAHAHA!"  He flew forward towards the back of Gragas, claws flailing at his back and beak snapping at his neck.

The drunkard-No, Gragas' didn't stop. He knew this would be his only chance at stopping this...This monster, from killing him. He felt terrified, he felt his stomach begin to churn, but he had to try, he had to win, for him, for his partner. He had to beat this monstrosity. At the first sound, he quickly turned to his opponent, and then he brought the cask down on his opponent, yelling as he did so. "HAVE A DRINK!"

...And then, it ended. Gragas cask, it hit the other...Heh...heh...It hit them, it did. However it didn't stop the being. Zeta's claws pierced his stomach, blood beginning to trickle, the crimson liquid flowing fourth from his stomach. The beak snapped onto Gragas' neck, causing him to screech in pain, before the life was drained from his body... As the monster pulled away from Gragas' neck, taking a large chunk of flesh with it, blood began to flow fourth, filling the gap and just trickling down the side of the fatman, as he fell on his face. The screens continued to show the scene between the two fighters, the monstrous being swallowing the large chunk of flesh, and cackling as the screen's shut off, the two fighter's being forced to unsync....

With a buzz, Alexa shrunk back to face her monitor. It was no longer the user interface for Goldlock Crab, but a live display of the battle scene playing before her. Ah, good. Something to keep her distracted while she planned out a good battle strategy against an astral she didn't know yet... First up on the field was Gragas, just as the screen had displayed. She had to admit, his drunken slur was rather hilarious. Though, she got bored quickly, arms crossed at chest-level as she let out a huff. What she was not expecting was for the other opponent to appear in a burst of dark ribbons, and look nothing like the 'Yugi Moto' she was expecting. W-...Was there a glitch? She looked up to the main array of screens dangling from the ceiling like some strange, cyber wonderland. One of the screens displayed health bars, and the other was frozen on the VS splash screen with a few discolored patches of pixels, as though it froze when trying to switch. The popping coming from the speakers on that end made her flinch, as though she were anticipating a horror-movie monster to burst free from the swirling abyss of ceiling stars at any second... then came the screams from the main monitor and the gasps of horror from the crowd. Yeesh, had she jinxed them all? With a roll of her eyes, she shifted her head back towards the screen at her station to see-- By...god... Before her eyes, a massive bird was biting chunks off of Gragas, all the way down to slurping up intestines like pasta. With a hand over her mouth, she pried her eyes away from the screen, resisting the urge to lose her dinner. However-- her astral mark was whining again. Though, now, it was an angry, metallic whine... a whine that screamed murder and demanded for bloodshed as the demonic entity ate the poor astral alive. However, as she held her hand up to the monitor and reluctantly shifted it from side to side between the two astrals, it all became clear once the volume of the screech was at its highest over the astral that did not belong in the battle. Whatever it was, Crab didn't like it... and neither did Alexa's poor stomach. Back and forth, her gaze snapped between all the different monitors. Splattered blood, health bars twitching like a dying beetle's wings, the splash screen of Yugi completely devoured by pixellated corruption... and then, with a pop and crackle, the stadium went dark save for the barely noticeable glow of emergency lights... Good, a wonderful opportunity for her to make a mad dash down to the bathroom, toss her cookies, and wonder what the hell just happened.

Hobbling back over to her sync station podium on shaky legs, she grasped onto the handrail with one hand. With her head hanging down, she rose a thumbs-up to the audience as all the lights boomed back on. The logo for the tournament flashed onto the screens shortly after the sync stations rebooted, soon followed by the astral scr-- it was blank, all details in monochrome, with a stock silhouette where the astral would be. A couple technicians off in the corner of the stadium seemed to be busily working on fixing something, clearly. With a pop and buzz, her screen faded to orange. Just like before, the roaring flame animation filled the screen, albeit with a few stutters on the audio coming from the hidden speakers on either side of the monitor. As though nothing ever happened, all the details were back online. However, the shaded portion of the ability menu was filled with more static than ever.. Out of pure curiosity, she reached a hand out towards the screen. Specifically, the angry, buzzing astral mark one. She missed the menu, her palm instead pressing against the astral symbol on the bottom right corner of the screen. There was a loading bar for a brief moment, before her astral mark flashed with a startling bright yellow light. Humming with energy and the bright glow not ceasing, she took quick notice that the shaded abilities were now... readable. "Furnace Blast...Air Raid...Deca Drone...Radar...Scrapyarder's Discipline?" She mumbled in question as she attempted to read them off. Over the boxes for Sear and Fissure, she also took notice that there were three circles in a line under their ability name, the first one of both sequences filled. However, the upgrades for those had no names, just... levels, perhaps? When she lifted her right hand off of the symbol in an attempt to check the stats on the locked abilities, they burst into static again. Drat! It looked like she'd have to try again later...

Angelo had only just finished his sandwich when guards came and abruptly picked him up.

Angelo- I DIDN'T DO IT I SWEAR I PAID FOR THIS SANDWICH!

The guards then explained to him that they were taking him to the tournament grounds. It's time already, I guess time really does go fast when you're having fun. As Angelo entered the tournament stage, he could hear the crowd going crazy with cheers. His face lit up, he felt like the next best thing to a rockstar, this feeling was soon replaced by a deep sensation of butterflies and he suddenly felt sick.

Angelo- Do I have to go out there?

He tried to stall, but the overwhelming sea of guards managed to push him out. As he entered, he realised the crowd weren't focused on him but instead on a jumbo-sized screen. He breathed a sigh of relief. On the screen two people were already battling, the astrals looked very intriguing, one was a fat man with a barrel but the other.. It made him quiver slightly, he shook it off and smiled. It looks kinda awesome! He proceeded to watch the cool looking astral begin to eat the fat man.

Angelo- Oh wow, that's... Interesting... So much for PG 13.

The power immediately cuts out on the screen. Angelo then realised that he would have to go on soon and the butterflies attacked with force. The power turned back on and he read the matchups, Me versus Yooeye? He looked over to his sync station and found someone already there, waiting. He walked over,

Angelo- Are you Yooeye?

Yui reacted a bit confused.
"Yooeye? What...? Oh! No, you pronounce it like You-e."
She sighed.
"Wait, I think I've seen you before somewhere... Oh right! I passed you on the way to breakfast. I guess some people are comfortable wearing pyjamas...?"
She synced in closing her eyes. The noise of electricity rushing through her ears and the cold feeling once again becoming apparent in her hands. Then she opened her eyes....

Aaron ditched the group after lunch-stomach ache, apparently. Scarlet said her goodbyes to Rika and she went back to her room, where she took off her sweater, put on her favourite pair of headphones, and flopped onto the bed. With a heavy sigh, she got comfortable in her bed and napped for an hour.

~

”Can you do me a favour?”

“Depends. What’s in it for me?”

”You owe me one from Hawaii.”

”. . . and what can I do for my darling sister?”

”I need you to install a doorbell on my hotel room, like the one I have at home.”

”Can’t hear someone knocking with your headphones on?”

”Nope.”

”Alright, I’ll take down your old one and bring it to you, I just need to-” CRASH ”-oh sh*t. I’ll call back later. Bye sis.”

”Bye.” She hung up the phone and rolled her eyes. Her brother was probably pissing around with his car again. He always has his hands dirty. She remembered him showing up at his own wedding with oil smeared across his nose. She laughed. That was a good day.

There was a knock at the door.

”One second!” Scarlet threw her sweater back on and was straightening it out when she answered it: a guard. She should’ve guessed. ”Alright, I’m coming.” Without another word, she strode beside the burly man down to the arena.

~

”I’m against him again!?!

She had only just recovered from all the socialising when Rika heard the knock of her door. The guards, probably. With a quick glance in the mirror to check her appearance, she finished her preparations for the tournament and opened the door for whoever stood outside. The guards - who she guessed would be there anyway - seemed almost eager to inform her that the tournament would be starting and that they had to escort Rika there. Great. Well at least some people are enjoying this, she thought. She forced a smile at the guards and asked them to look after her until she got to the arena.

A mixture of feelings hit Rika like a speeding bullet train. Joy, nervousness, excitement, fear, but most of all, anxiety. She hated going onstage - to do anything for that matter, whether it'd be for a school play, or too explain her analysis on the physical phenomena of the world. Stages were her natural sworn enemy, and it didn't help at all that the tournament would be broadcasting live to God knows how many people. She took deep, slow breaths as she the commentator read out the names of the competitors, hearing some familiar, and other, not so familiar names.

"Rika vs. Aaron", the commentator bellowed " and Newstein vs. Sun Wukong!"

Yikes!... Just her luck to get such a tough opponent in the first match, huh?
It's a good thing that she was able to ask about some of the basics at the table. Her main plan - getting either Aaron or Scarlet to spar with her - was pretty much futile. In fact, she probably had a larger chance of winning the lottery than getting either of them to spar. "Gotta focus.", she muttered to herself. "I can do this... I may be inexperienced, but I've gotta try!" she said, determined now.

Although she said these brave words, she was still shaking. Rika made her way to the sync station, eyes glued to the current match that appeared to have reached it's conclusion - a great, big man who seemed to love beer too much and a...demonic looking creature. "Wha...What the hell is that?", she gasped, obviously scared at what she was witnessing. Rika couldn't believe her eyes as the creature devoured him. She turned away from the screen in horror, trying to block out the horrible images that ingrained themselves into her mind.

The screams and gasps of the audience weren't helping either. It was now clear to her that something had gone seriously wrong. When she got to the syncing station, Rika looked at the machine in awe. The technology was impressive for their time. Thinking about how such a machine works relaxed her a little, even after witnessing something so horrific. She studied the syncing station, waiting for him to arrive.

Clark

After having gone for lunch Clark spent the rest of his afternoon preparing strategies for the tournament. It was so frustrating since he only knew a few of the astrals. Guess he’ll just have to prepare for them all this afternoons. ‘This isn't gonna be much of a fun afternoon.' He thought to himself. The time went by, excruciatingly slow at some points, and before he knew it the tournament had come close to beginning. As he left his hotel room he could see one of the guards approaching his door. Perfect timing, come on." The guard seemed a bit taken back at Clark's readiness but took him knotholes since it was the whole point of coming.

Arriving at the stadium, Clark could see the lights from the outside, the place sounded packed and there were still more people coming in. Clark was about to wave off the guard saying he could find his way from here, but a rumble came to his stomach. Clark came to regret skipping breakfast or at the very least wished he had eaten a bigger lunch, and so he turned back to the guard asking for where he could find a concession stand. After being pointed towards the stand Clark went picked out a hotdog when the announcer called the match-ups. He heard his name against Scarlet’s. ‘Now isn’t that funny, I guess all that planning wasn’t a waste after all.' He said to himself in his mind as he exited out to the stadium field.

When Clark walked onto the field he could feel the crowds energy as they shouted, he could feel their eyes on him, the monitors, and everyone. This feeling of importance, of having their attention and them knowing that there was something that set him apart from him that made him more than the average person. This was what Clark relished for, then suddenly the crowd went silent save for the few gasp and screams of shock. Clark looked to the screens he only caught a glimpse, it looked to be some form of beast devouring a man. Before he could fully make it out the screen shut off and the light had all gone out. The crowed seemed stunned, even some of the other competitors were disturbed, it looked like Alexa had lost her lunch. Clark's been in plenty of battles and he's seen some pretty gruesome thing in his astral battles and continued to eat his hotdog unmissed by what happened to the stadium. Whatever that thing was it was strong and represented why Clark entered the tournament, to fight the best and prove he's better. The announcer regains the attention of the crowed telling them of some minor difficulties and that the battles would still continue. It was all Clark needed to hear, he walked up to the sync station, Scarlet was waiting she seemed a bit upset. "Hey you don’t have to look so disappointed, i promise to make the match more interesting than the first one." He said with a cheeky smile on his face.

Night had descended upon the park like a blanket, and a cold winter wind swept over the forest, rustling the trees. The only light was offered by the old, rusting street lamps that flickered on and off randomly, and the starry sky shimmered above the forest, unlike in the busy city. The place was simple and unpolished, and it reminded Aaron of his roots, of the small town boy he had been before he had ever dreamed of being a rising astral battler. He always ended up here when things in the city became overwhelming, when he just needed to run until he was too tired to ask himself what-ifs, and tonight was no different. He had swapped his clothes for a faded whte t-shirt, an old pair of elastic shorts, and dusty sneakers and he was freezing. The air bit into his exposed skin and his breath was a foggy cloud in front of him, but he knew he would warm up as soon as he started running. He switched on his Ipod and began to jog, letting himself fall into step with the music and allowing his mind to roam.

He had met tons of new people today, and they had all been battlers in the tournament. He needed to organize things, before his head exploded from an overload of information. 'Okay so... Alexa. She seemed pretty shy, but for her first battle she did real well. Way better than I did, I accidentally shifted into a bird and just squawked and flew around.' He chuckled a bit at the memory. 'Hope she isn't mad at me though, she rushed off before I could explain the voice or the reason she knew what her weapons did, hope someone told her. I'll check to see at the tournament later.' The thought of making someone upset got to him, and he picked up his pace and shook it off. 'I didn't really learn too much about Clark, but I know his astral now. He's a squirmy little bugger, and that super hurt real bad. Once I got him pinned down he couldn't do much, and he wasn't tanky at all. Mighta had a chance at beating them both if I had just dodged that big laser. No point in what-ifs, though.' His music increased in tempo and he matched it, breaking into a full blown sprint. 'Rika seemed real chill, if a bit awkward. Prolly somethin' about bein' a teenager, I sure as hell had my weird moments. She reminded me of Kyran though, always makin' me feel dumb. Grades never were too great, barely eligible for cross country and track...' The thought of Kyran brought their last confrontation to the forefront of his mind, and he immediately steered it in a more pleasant direction. 'Scarlet didn't get mad about me running into her, and she even agreed to battle with me. Sucks I couldn't get her a win, but she didn't seem to care that much...' He would have blushed if his face had not already been beet red. 'That was probably just her astral rubbing off on her though, not anything special. The pegasus, Rainbow Dash... She was unique. She seemed pretty fast from what I saw, and I'm assuming that burst of light must have been her super... Must not have gone well. Can't believe she almost flew into Wukong and I, that was a new one.'

He smiled, but it slowly turned upside down. 'Feel bad about ditching them at lunch, but I have no idea what that was...My stomach hurt so bad, and my mark... It was glowing like a beacon and howling angrily, like an enraged chimp. My whole arm felt like lead... I've never heard of that happening before, and no one seemed to be able to see it but me.' He cast his gaze to the stars, not breaking pace at all. 'It stopped as soon as I got back to my room too, I have no idea what that was...' He was so lost in his own world he didn't notice the road block that had just appeared in front of him, and ran into the brick wall of a man that was the guard hard. He fell on his ass and stared up at the guard momentarily before scrambling to his feet. "Sh*t man, sorry. Is it time for the tournament already?" He was panting for breath, and his hair was plastered to his forehead. The guard nodded and motioned for Aaron to follow before turning and striding away. The young man barely had time to scoop up his headphones, which had hit the sidewalk and shattered, before the guard had disappeared and he was forced to run to catch up to him.

They trudged through the forest without rest, and the guard didn't let up his pace until they had arrived at the arena. He could hear the crowd roaring from outside, and he waved the guard off. He knew the place better than he knew himself, he didn't need an escort. The big man nodded and disappeared, and Aaron hesitated before stepping into the building. This was it, it all began here. There would be no going back after this point, it was do or die. He stepped past the door and the noise inside the enormous arena was overpowering, the screams of fans reverberating until he wanted to cover his ears. An employee spotted him and rushed over to verify his ID, and when they saw he was marked as a competitor they immediately led him to the entrance of the underground room all battlers fought in. In there they were separated from the crowd and could focus, they had their own monitors to view battles, and most importantly they had the high-tech sync stations the hosts provided. The technology blew his mind every time. They were far bigger than the stations in the sparring room, with various monitors that displayed your stats and known abilities, with an actual platform to stand on. He could see his station glowing orange, and noticed most of the other battles had beaten him here. Well then, no time to waste in getting to his station. He stepped up to the platform and quickly signed in.

Immediately a robotic arm brought a monitor down to hover in front of his face, which powered on when it came to a rest. With a roar an emerald dragon descended onto the screen, and the different bars and numbers that represented stats sprung to life. In the center of the exhibit Sun Wukong floated on his Nimbus Cloud, his name in bold, jade-green letters below him. In the bottom right corner was a 3D representation of his astral mark, and in the left were the stats he knew by heart. High strength, average armor, health, and utility, but low speed and abysmal range . He was meant to brawl, not chase and fight from afar. On the right were his abilities, and he reminisced on when half of those slots had been grayed out. He had slaved long and hard to unlock his moves. Art of 72 transformations, Art of Deception, Art of Wind, Art of Extension, Art of Tide, and the earth shattering super, Nimbus Strike. He knew there were more to unlock, there was even a slot that boasted an ability more powerful than his super, but he would have to unlock those in time. He was interrupted from analyzing the screen by the announcer, who boomed out the match-ups across the entire arena. He smiled when he found out he was against Rika, that would be interesting.

Immediately after the announcements the first battle started, Raithen vs Gatillio. He had never heard of either of them, but their astrals looked interesting enough. The first was a man with gravity defying gold and red hair, and a strange device clasped around his wrist. The other was a big man, with a big beard and an even bigger gut. They synced into the forest and the battle began, but from the start he could tell something was wrong. The large man named Gragas had appeared, but Yugio Moto never had. In his place was... No, oh dear God no. Not him, he couldn't be here. Aaron stumbled backwards in panic, back pressed against the support bar around the platform. His eyes were wide and terrified as he observed the fight, but he couldn't take them away from the screen. He knew what would happen before anyone else, the poor drunk man didn't stand a chance... When Zeta transformed he screamed and shut his eyes, astral mark glowing and screeching so loud he felt like his ears were gonna bleed. Not again, he didn't wanna think about it again. Not that battle...
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Come on Kyran, Mom and Dad are worried about you. They say you haven't been out of your room in days." Aaron pounded against his brother's bedroom door incessantly, frowning. "If you don't come out, I'm coming in. I'm not gonna let you rot away in there." There was no response. He sighed, and pulled his pocket knife out of his coat. The lock on the door had been broken since they had shared the room as little kids, and all it took was a jiggle and the door would open. He slid the blade in the lock and turned it until there was a 'click', and then he shoved the door open. His brother laid on his bed and it looked like he hadn't moved for a long time. His clothes were stained and grungy looking, and his hair was greasy and stuck to his forehead. The room smelled like a something rotten had died in there, and it was like a sauna. He grabbed Kyran be the arm and pulled him to his feet, forcing them face to face. He looked worse than had been originally believed, with sallow skin and dark, heavy bags under his eyes. "C'mon, you're gonna shower and then we're going to get you out of here for a while."

The younger brother didn't react, and Aaron stormed over to his closet and grabbed a spare change of clothes. He shoved it into Kyran's hands and pushed him off towards the bathroom. "Go, now." He disappeared into the restroom, and Aaron stayed there until he heard the water come on, then he fell back onto the bed with a sigh. Kyran was so much worse than he had thought, and he only had a vague idea why. He had come to him a few weeks ago crying and telling him about a horrible dream he had been having and the creature within it, and then showed him the mark on his neck. The older man had laughed and explained that it was an astral mark, and that he had nothing to be afraid of. He even offered to battle him, to prove nothing was wrong, but the younger had refused vehemently and not spoken of it again. Aaron shook his and sighed. He knew what he had to do.

Just as he came to a decision Kyran emerged from the bathroom, looking like a completely different person. The grease had left his hair, and a shower and change of clothes had made his skin seem a lot less pasty. He even seemed more awake and out of the fog he had been gripped in. He stopped at the door and crossed his arms, shooting Aaron a glare. "Happy?" The elder nodded. "Yeah, now come with me." He turned towards the door and fished his keys out of his pocket, and the younger hesitated a second before following him. He might as well get this over with. They headed downstairs and Aaron told his parents they were going out, and would be back in a couple hours. Not a word of where they were going, even after they had gotten in the beat up old pick up and started down the street.

"We're going to the chanseyin' sync station, aren't we?"

"Yeah, you have to face your fear. Astral battling isn't a nightmare, it's awesome. I promise nothing bad will happen, I wouldn't let anything hurt you."

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The lights flashing off in the arena brought him back to reality, and he gasped for breath. He was sweating again, and he had somehow ended up on the ground. Slowly, he picked himself up, knees wobbling. 'My last words to him... They were a lie, I wasn't able to stop it.' The numbness in his arm had gone away, and the screeching had stopped. The lights slowly flickered back on, and Aaron noticed Rika was at her sync station across from him. He smiled weakly. "Uh... hey there, fancy meeting you here." He hoped she hadn't been there long enough to see his episode, but it had been dark and he had been on the ground, so most likely no one had seen him. He awkwardly attempted to steer the conversation away from himself, in case she had witnessed anything. He noticed a new battle between two people named Yui and Angelo was about to start, and he motioned towards the screen. "So... This is gonna be a good battle, eh?" He just couldn't muster his usual energy, and the question came out half-hearted and weak. If she had known him longer she might have spotted the difference in his attitude, but she hadn't, and surely she wasn't that observative. Then again, she was a genius...

GM post

It finally began to sink in what Angelo had just witnessed, what he had just seen as a man had been devoured alive. He had to get out. He had to leave, he didn't want to be a part of this anymore. He wanted a legacy before he died, but not like this. Not... Like this. He did something that he normally wouldn't have, due to his honest and carefree nature. He lied. He claimed that he had to go to the bathroom, and it would only be about five minutes at the most, however, as time and time went on, it began to become very clear, that he wasn't coming back. And so, Yui was declared the victor by the announcer, however, he did add in a sarcastic comment about her winning by technicality.

As Angelo made his way through the complex, going deeper and deeper, rather than higher and higher like he was trying to, what looked like a guard found him. The 'guard' told him some spiel about how he was who they expected to be the future champion, and that he was going to show him something that would ensure this, and so, Angelo followed. As he followed, he began to feel...Alive, he began to feel confident in his abilities. He truly believed, that maybe this wouldn't be so bad, maybe he would be able to win the tournament before dying, and make a legacy for himself... However, those dreams would soon be crushed.

As he stepped into what looked like an old cafeteria room, the door shut tight behind him. His screams began to echo out from the room, throughout the complex, laughter of another accompanying it... The guards would not be able to reach him soon enough. As the guard's forced the door open, the sight they were met with, was less than satisfactory. They saw a body, one that they could barely tell was an Astral fighter, lying lifeless, face down upon a broken table. The guards began to examine the body, checking his wounds to see if there was any chance he was alive... But... They came up short, in that department. The first, and most noticeable wound, was there was a large... Hole, as if a blunt object, had literally been shoved through his back, and it went all the way through his chest, blood seeping forth from the wound, with several bones and organs on display to the world. The second injury, was a bit less obvious. He had several indents across his body, as if he had been hit with a blunt object several times. The third, and final, was the oddest of all. His arms were singed, however, his legs and feet, seemed to be coated in frost... A  combination, that made very little sense.

As the guards began to report back to the higher ups, calling them to find out what they should do and who to contact, the answer they got was... Odd, and something they certainly hadn't expected. They were told to clean up the room, and report to report that his illness got to him, causing him to faint when on a large building. Say that his wounds primarily came from what he landed on, and to get creative due to the legs and the arms... And so, the guards, albeit, hesitantly, did just that...

Yui had been pulled out of her astrals body before anything had happened at all. Looking around slightly confused.
"It looks like Yui has won by a technicality."
"Huh what...? Technicality?"
Mixed feelings went through her mind. One of the first official battles of this year, and it got canceled, she had a feeling of disappointment she didn't want an easy battle. She wondered why Angelo would suddenly back out of the competition, did he get unwell? Did she intimidate him in some kind of way. She slowly turned her back to the sync station, walking back down the stairs trying to figure out what had happened. She noticed guards entering the building busily discussing something. She walked straight towards them.
"Excuse me? What happened to my opponent? It appears he had left and didn't return to the stadium"
The guards looked at each other silently. They all attempted to talk at the same time followed by another silence until one guard stepped forward.
"Well, as it appears Angelo went to have a bathroom break just before the battle."
Yui tilted her head.
"Bathroom break? That doesn't take very long does it?"
"Usually not no, but it appears his illness caught him. He was standing on top of the building when he fainted. Then he plummeted down. He even hit something very hard on his way to the ground."
"... I see."
It were hollow words she would always say when a sentence didn't reach her at all.
"We apologize for the inconvenience. Please have patience for the next battle."

Yui sat down with her back against the wall, staring at the giant monitor, trying to process what was told to her. The more she repeated that sentence in her mind, the less it made sense. The only thing that seemed to make sense was the fact that Angelo went to the bathroom. It makes perfect sense to withdraw to the bathroom in a public place whenever you start feeling unwell. However, the top of the building didn't seem to make much sense. There were signs pretty much everywhere with directions to the bathroom. There is one very close to the stadium for crying out loud.

Then she thought of the other option: He backed out, and used the bathroom as an excuse to get away without having to face embarrassment directly. Why would he have backed out? It doesn't make sense to go all the way up the building. The battle grounds are pretty much on the ground floor so he could've easily left the building via some kind of back door. Spectators would recognize him if he would take the stairs up. Yui opted to ask other battlers if they had seen him going somewhere. She immediately waved the idea away. There must be a reason the guards would tell such a story, probably to keep the astral battlers from getting uneasy. And Yui wasn't the kind of person who would want to make people feel uncomfortable.

In any case, she was stuck at the arena grounds for the time being. She had to focus on the matches that were to come today.

Jade

Jade had been itching to get into the game store, and look the the wears. However, much to her dismay, the line wasn't just long. It was absurdly long, to get in. Now, one might ask themselves. "Why is this store in particular packed so full?" And the answer, is not only is it opening up today, but they had been taking orders before hand, and most people, including Jade, were able to now pick theirs up.

Jade got to the front of the line, and provided her receipt for the order. Just as the store worker had gone off to get her worker, what she would have described as a 'tragedy' struck. Her collection, or assigned guard showed up. The clock had struck six, and it was time for her to go. She would normally have put up a fight, or objected, but she DID sign those forms, after all. There's probably something about this in there...

She seemed to turn her head down, and turned to walk with the guard who had come to get her, following them to the tournament grounds, where they took her to the First Arena, with all the other participants. As soon as she got there and the match ups were announced, she walked to her station, allowing the guard's to check her bags and whatnot for weapons, however, once she got to her station, she began to scan through the information, trying to find out the most she could about her Astral before the first battle began, looking through her stats. From what she could gather, she had low health and armor ratings, with neutral attack, and neutral speed. However, looking through her abilities, she seemed to have very high utility due to her drones, and would have to remember that.

Then, the first battle started... Oh did the battle start. She watched both sides, watching as the drunken slurs that seemed to give her a headache, rang out against a scratchy, villain-ish voice... The odd thing, however, was that the Astral fighting the 'Gragas'... Wasn't who she had expected. It wasn't the 'Yugi Moto' that had been shown, it was an odd... Monster. Her stomach began to turn, and she became nauseous as she watched the monster eat through the other's flesh, however, as soon as she began to reach her limit at watching, the power seemed to... Go out. She seemed to stand there, frozen at her spot, before the power came back on a few seconds later, the battle having seemingly ended, as the two fighters had been ejected from the sync station.

Now, normally, Jade wouldn't have been worried about a little gore, or even something as graphic as she had just watched... But... Something about that fight got to her, and it was something very simple, but legitimate. She was going to have to fight something like that, and she wasn't sure she wanted too. It wasn't like she could back down now, but she did make a choice. As she stood at her station, she began to flip through her sketchbook, as if trying to distract herself from all that was going on, including the next few Astral battles, as if trying to avert her eye's from any other death's...

Steven
Steven hadn't really... Done much, that day. He had been reading some books from his country, when the collection guards had come to get him. They led him to the tournament grounds, and the first arena, where the guard's seemed to check him for weapons, a bit more... Thoroughly, than some of the other's, but they found nothing.

As he got to his station, he began to check out what they had written for his Astral, a bit glad that they had a language setting. When he got to the station, he seemed to eye Discord's profile a bit... Confused, but it might have been due to the fact that the image seemed to flash between three different Astrals, as if glitching. He noted that his speed rating seemed to be rather high, but his strength, Armor, and health, seemed to be rather low.

One thing that seemed a bit interesting, is as it flashed between the Astrals, only one ability changed, however, they switched too fast to read. Eventually, as it reached his turn to fight, the image seemed to stop, on a man with a TV for a head, wearing a bit of an odd  suit with it. The ability that was changing now stable, he began to read it, smiling at what it did.

"Come back" was the name of the ability, which, was a rather literal title. The ability seemed to give him the ability to snap his fingers, calling the cane back to him, or, if the cane couldn't move, it would literally bring him to the cane. One thing he noticed, however, was this cane seemed a bit different than the one's the other had, as this one resembled one that you would often see in a old play, as it resembled a Shepard's crook...

As he finished reading the stats, he began to watch the battle that was going on at the time, watching as a being was tearing into what he would assume was a drunken man. He felt confused by the fact that the other wasn't the one the display had shown, but yet a creature of darkness, plunging the arena in to darkness at it's will. He felt slightly angered by the deception, but most of all, he became to feel nauseous, as he watched the Drunkard be eaten alive, appalled at  the cruelty of the being... It was then, right before the beast began to feast on the drunkard, that the power went out, forcing an unsync between the two...  When the power came back up, his Astral's picture seemed to switch, to a man in a brown suit, with an old phone for a head. Steven stood at his post, a bit...Confused with the stuff going on, but most of all, he began to wait, ignoring the battles to come. This was a different league than he was used too, and positively more ruthless...

Full Battle Post

At the right most machine, two very peculiar opponents stood, prepared to fight, both of standing at their spot, a but uneasy. On one side of the machine stood "Steven Williams", and on the other side, stood Jade Johnson. They didn't speak before synching, one because they couldn't, and one because they didn't have the courage to. Before long, the announcer bellowed out that the third battle of the night would begin, and it was going to be an interesting one. As soon as the sentence ended, the referee raised both arms, and yelled for them to sync, so they did. Steven touching his mark on his chest, and Jade touching her's on her ankle.

Discord opened his eye's, looking around as his mind began to meld. He noticed he was now in the 'correct' body, and had a bit of a clunky head, since it was a Phone, and moved a bit stiff, as he was now in a fully brown suit. He held his cane tightly, looking around as he walked through the forest.

XNFE slowly opened her eye's, a bit...Disoriented as she looked around. She was...Confused. She was in the same position she had been in from her last memories, sitting on her drones as she awaited her death, waiting for the oxygen to leave... She...Felt out of place, and it only got worse when her mind began to meld with Jade's. The drones seemed to jerk around wildly in response to the mind's melding, which caused her to be knocked off of them, to where she hit the ground in the forest. The three drones began to come down, circling her as she looked around, pondering where she was. She began to walk through the forest, a single purpose in the back of her mind; Part of her, the part she didn't know, was telling her to start moving, quickly. It was telling her to fight her opponent, kill the one here so she could leave... And so, she did just that, she began to break out in to a jog, the drones trailing behind her, until she found her opponent.

Discord noticed his opponent, stopping in place as he began to stare his opponent down and examine them, or more accurately, watching as three drones began to circle him... Or at least, he was staring her down from his perspective. His opponent, however, saw him as an old phone, upon a man's body. The girl began to chuckle, drones surrounding him, she began to speak.  "I don't understand why you're here, but I could have at least been given something more than ancient technology to fight..."

That's when she got her wish, and the dice stopped rolling. That's when she got something more. Discord began to whip around at each drone, a minigun constructed out of flames materializing in his hands, firing out fireballs that slammed into two of the drones before pointing at the girl. She had one drone left, and he had two shots left. He quickly fired both shots, at her and the drone, to which the drone, and her, narrowly dodged them, a low powered energy beam firing from the drone into his leg, however, he seemed to shrug it off. The girl rushed him, to which Discord attempted to block the child's claws with his cane, but to his dismay, the cane merely snapped from the force, the claws leaving large indents in his chest, and knocking him back. He began to slowly begin stepping backwards, staggering as he did so, moving one of his hands to cover the wound on his chest, blood seeping around his hands.

As the being of chaos backed away, the same thing happened over, and over again. The drones would appear after she went to their corpses, he would destroy them in a over the top fashion, and then remember to jump back, as to dodge the claws. Eventually, however, he got a certain roll. A special roll, where all four dice, rolled Sevens. This, was the mark of something special, as the dice turned black, and seemed to multiply, eight dice appearing in Discord's hands now, however, they weren't all that was growing in numbers. Another Discord, appeared. The second Discord seemed to have a TV for a head, and was wearing several different colors, rather than just the brown. The two Discord's even began to converse between themselves, the one with the phone for a head speaking first.  "Ah, it's you! Glad it wasn't that wretched mask."

"Indeed,I'm glad it's only you, and not the rubbish one."

"I hear he caused his last user to go mad, I wonder if he'll do the same to ours?"

"I think ours will turn him mad firs-"

The TV was cut off as a low powered blast struck his antenna, static appearing across his screen. Their opponent seemed a bit... annoyed with how the two were acting, before doing she began to do something strange, speaking as she did so.  "Tch, there's two of you now? I'm not dealing with this... I want my answers too, so, time to end this.

The drones began to make a soft beeping noise, before surrounding the two at high speeds, and exploding immediately, giving no logical way of escape for the two beings of chaos. ...But, they don't abide by logic very often, because, as the smoke cleared, then, a voice rang out, almost literally, as the TV had taken the phone off of the receiver of the other Discord, and had began talking into it.  "Hello, yes, I DID order the wall of stone, glad you delivered on time!"  Around the time the sentence, the smoke had completely cleared, showing that there had been a large wall around them, most of it being reduced to rubble.

And then, from the phone itself, another voice rang out, speaking as the original discord's hands began to glow.  "Yes, and thank you for delivering the pillar of flames on time too, dear, that cut I was given earlier getting very annoying."

As he finished his statement, a pillar of flames shot down from the sky above his opponent, burning them to ashes, their futile attempt to dodge failing. The two fighters unsynced as the other was reduced to ash, a green sign that said "WINNER" appearing on Steven's side.
As they unsynced, Jade seemed to almost stand there, shifting in place as if uncomfortable. Her mind was trying to explain to herself, everything she had seen... But further more, not even just the contents of the battle. She was trying to comprehend all the memories she gained, all the memories, from her astral, that she now had... The worst part was, however, she seemed... Scared. She was trying to explain to herself, how she had watched herself die, felt the pain and agony of being incinerated, but was standing there. She seemed... Disturbed, as she had felt death, but there were no consequences. She had no harm done to her, but she had felt life drain from her body moments ago...

Steven however, didn't even notice the other's look of horror, but stood there as the Referee came over and raised one of his arms, yelling out that he had won the fight. However, instead of a look of glee, instead of the expected expression, there was somewhat of a monotone look on his face, as if something was off about the entire fight...
