Quests & Plots / The Shiny Pokemon Quest!
« on: February 10, 2010, 10:42:53 PM »
When you enter a pokemon center (I'll leave it to the PU team to choose the location of where), and as you go up to the desk a scientist who apparently works for the professor who gave you your first pokemon has an invitation for you...

recently, a man who has washed up on the shores of this land after being shipwrecked on an Island for 6 years has spoke with scientists that the Island he was stranded on was home to some very strange pokemon (no not as in new pokemon), all the pokemon on that Island were shiny pokemon!  Most of the scientists who heard the castaway's story said he was crazy in the head for living alone so long.  however the professor and a small hand full of his aids found reference to such an Island in a book of southern native legends, where pokemon that shone like the stars (later known as shiny pokemon) were worshiped as deities by the tribes of Islands north of this one and they believed it to be the gates to the spirit realm, the only other people to set foot on that Island were tribal Shamans during their initiation to that status who were to go and seek knowledge at these spirit realm gates.

the Professor who gave you your first pokemon has invited you and several other trainers who have exceptional talent to join him and his research team on an expedition to this Island with a modern shaman as a guide.  You are free to catch any pokemon on this Island that you wish.  and the people of this tribe would consider you among the heroes of their tribe, for in their belief one to catch one of these "star-shine" pokemon as they call them is destined for great things!

Ideas & Suggestions / The PRAT Team
« on: February 09, 2010, 09:04:52 PM »
this is an expansion of a concept I came up with in Draagn's Light side and Dark Side of pokemon thread in more Detail, what it was called in the posting was Team Counter Strike, I realized too late that it would sound like a rip off from the Counter strike video game series, so I came up with a new name and more Details about it:

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you: the PRAT team (Pokemon Rescue & Assault Tactics)

A team of elite Trainers formed by the Pokemon League as a team to counter the operations of Team (insert evil team name here), and ensure that freedom and justice are upheld.

-Each member can specialize what they do on the team, ordinarily PRAT teams work in cells of 3 people, multiple cells can be deployed into a location.  Cells can either specialize or diversify what they do for PRAT, Like

Optional specialized cells:

Covering fire- this squad form's job is to take to the air with pokemon such as Flygon and Charizard which have flight capabilities and ranged special attacks which are used to scatter any enemy forces paving the way fro ground squads to come in and take care of the rest (I know this may be a bit complicated to do in overworld sprites but I think it could be possible if you ask me, any spriters who read this, tell me if you agree or think otherwise)

Ground Squads- the backbone of major operations such as taking down criminal groups, these are forces who go in behind covering fire and mop up what's left of the opposition, basically foot troops.

Intel- for those who don't really like to be combat oriented, most of these people are hackers who pierce enemy computer systems and get the info needed.  Mostly aided by the pokemon Porygon and its evolutions by entering cyberspace and finding what's needed.

Medics- Medics are support in the field for treating injured pokemon that were hurt in the field.  before getting to the level of active service in field operations, all potential medics must train at a pokemon center learning how to treat injuries and the like, next they must pass a test before being certified as medics.

infiltration- is for members who prefer stealth to power, and are usually used for rescue operations.

if I missed anything or have any Ideas plz tell me and submit your thoughts about this

Other Chat / Share your paranormal experiences!
« on: February 09, 2010, 04:45:26 PM »
After having a number of run-ins with the paranormal at various points in my life, I thought I should share them here and invite other members to talk of any experiences with unexplained creatures, ghosts or possibly a demon or two (like me), share them here for there are things that can't be explained and this is where we share those stories!

First off myself, I am n00b paranormal investigator trained by one of my College Teachers and have already either debunked a number of claims or found startling evidence for a world beyond the grave.

Let's start with my first experience... I was around 12, nine years ago, I was with my cousin and friends for Halloween and they pulled out the stupidest invention ever: the ouija board.  I had heard stories of really negative stuff from those things so I decided to sit out. a few seconds into its use, crazy stuff started happening, Lights burned out, cans of coke slid across tables, we heard a deep, growling laugh, but what I saw, topped all that out by a long shot:
a black mass floating at the end of the hall which formed into a black cloaked figure with no feet hovering in the hall looking directly at me! it started to drift foreword but one of my friends saw it and got in its way with a cross in hand and held it foreword and the entity backed down, to this day, I believe I saw a demon.

but my experiences didn't stop there, this is the one that brought me into doing this stuff, it was two or three years ago, at my local hangout a place that holds official pokemon tournaments, in this case it's a pre-release for DP3 (secret wonders) expansion set.  I had finished building my pre-release deck for that tournament and I had to go to the bathroom, I went down the hall and was about to turn on the light, that is until I saw a figure standing in the dark room, its back to me, it was a tall man wearing a gray wispy lab coat and was bald.  I was about to call out but it took a step further and walked right through the wall. I hurried upstairs to use the bathroom there, when I got home after that I started looking up the paranormal and I was into it ever since.

Feel free to share your run ins with the paranormal now!

I got this quest Idea from one of the screenshots that was shown on this website: it is the picture of a few trainers on a route, and by a river there is an airplane that is done up to look like a wingull and this concept came to me from seeing that picture, (note: it would be better if they placed a person beside it to be a pilot then this quest would be much better).  Well here it is.

Along the route, you pass by a miltank farm with a woman outside in a Berry Garden yntil she notices you.  when she does, an exclamation mark appears above her head and she hurries out to talk to you.

Woman: Excuse me, Are you a trainer? Yes? well, I have a favor to ask of a trainer, You see, I have some issues with a group of fighting pokemon training punks who every so often come to my farm, beat up my precious Miltanks and raid the stock of Moomoo milk, I've been able to get ahold of a Rhyperior to defend the farm, however this hasn't worked for two reasons, 1. I realized too late that Rhyperior suffers from an inability to sleep, which decreases his ability to fight, and 2: he's a rock type, not very useful against Fighting types,  Why don't I get a pokemon that can be useful against it? I trained Rhyperior to the best of my abilities for months to get him to where he is, I don't want to throw all that training away just because he can't defend my farm! If you could see if you could negotiate a way to keep the punks from attacking my farm I would be in your dept!"

Will You help this woman? Yes?
                                      No?
If you say yes, you go north of the farm to where the fighting trainer's camp is, the entrance guards try to turn you away, but when they hear that you are here to see their leader for negotiations, they say that their negotiations are the aggressive kind, in other words, you have to face the two of them in a 2-on-2 battle, if you win, they will take you to their boss, You convey the message form the woman who sent you, but the boss just bursts out laughing,

Boss: We have our reasons!  but... I'll tell you what I'll halt the attacks on the condition that she is willing to do business with us!  You see, we aren't hogging the moomoo milk for ourselves, we're being paid by a resistance movement in Kanto who is standing against the (insret Evil organization name here) Regime there, they Hired us to provide them with nutritional supplies for both the members and their pokemon, Here is our offer, she provides us with the moomoo milk, and we'll give her a 60% cut of what the resistance pays us!  Wait here a moment... (goes off for a moment When he returns) Here, this is a letter to her containing my offer to her, please deliver this to her and return with her response.
PLAYER OBTAINED GANG LEADER'S LETTER
You return to the farm where the woman is waiting.
Woman: did you speak with their leader? Oh? they sent a letter with a business opportunity letter?
PLAYER HANDED OVER GANG LEADER'S LETTER
Woman: Hmm... it is an impressive offer, but tell them this for me, if they make it 80% they have a deal, let me write that down!"
PLAYER OBTAINED REPLY LETTER
You take the reply to the gang leader and turn it in to him. he reads the letter and nods
Boss: Done! Hold on a moment, ZEKE!
A member of the crew enters the tent
Zeke: yes sir?
Boss: go to our safe and withdraw 80% of our last payment for the moomoo milk shipment!
Zeke: on it's way boss.
Boss: Here is an acceptance letter saying that the two of us have a deal and her share of the money from the last shipment is enclosed.
PLAYER RECIEVED WOMAN'S PAY ENVELOPE
you deliver the pay envelope to the woman and she is overjoyed about this and as a reward gives you a case of a dozen bottles of moomoo milk.
WOMAN: but htere is still one little problem: my poor Rhyperior is still not sleeping well, so I ask one more favor of you, in the mountains, there lives a hermit who makes herbal remedies for various illnesses, such as insomnia, can I get you to go there and get a remedy for Insomnia, take this envelope of money, it should be enough to pay for it.
PLAYER OBTAINED MONEY FOR MEDECINE
WOMAN: the quickest way to where he lives is the airplane that is docked on the river east of here, take this too,
PLAYER OBTAINED AIRPLANE PASS

You go east of the farm to where the airplane is docked like in the screenshot and go up to the pilot and tell him where to take you. he takes you into the mountains and you go through them to find the house where this person lives while battling trainers and wild pokemon along the way, when you get to the house, you go in and tell the hermit of what is going on.

HERMIT: Insomnia treatment? yes that can be easily dealt with, just wait here... (goes to a counter and mixes up the proper herbs and returns to you) here you are, and you don't need to pay, I don't need to buy things up here, I can make or harvest all I'll ever need.

You return to th airplane for the descent to where you originally came from, you return to the farm and deliver the meds and the money which she is quite happy to have back. this is where I'll need help: I need some Ideas of what should be a reward for completing this part of the subquest OTHER THAN MORE MOOMOO MILK

Ideas & Suggestions / What about an adoption center?
« on: December 25, 2009, 02:33:07 AM »
How about a place where a trainer can adopt a pokemon? the inventory of pokemon up for adoption changes every now and then so you never know what pokemon is there before you go into their playroom.  have anything that could improve this idea, please post it!
