Games / Pokemon X and Y
« on: January 31, 2013, 02:33:24 AM »
Why haven't I seen a topic on here about the 6th generation of Pokemon games? The first fully 3D game in the series and no discussion? Whaaa..

Trainers Lounge / Question about Time Period
« on: February 06, 2012, 09:22:01 PM »
So a while ago I read on the wiki about a Professor in Miryus that witnessed the battle between Kyogre and Groudon, and recently I saw a post by Mr_Dark saying PU takes place 100 years after Pokemon Black and White. Obviously said professor wouldn't be alive still, so my question is, has the timeline recently changed or is the wiki unofficial, or are these things just subject to change?

General Chat / Giant Pokemon
« on: January 22, 2012, 11:49:58 PM »
So I was thinking about old Pokemon episodes the other day and I remembered the giant Dragonite in "Mystery of the Lighthouse". A lot of people just brushed this off as the anime not being sure whether or not Dragonite was legendary at the time, sort of like Lucario, so they made him gigantic and unknown but then later introduced him as normal sized and quite known. But here's the thing, Dragonite is not the only giant Pokemon. Now I knew this, but I didn't realize just how many giant or "above average" Pokemon have appeared in the anime. I myself remembered the giant Tentacruel at Hatoba Port, Gary's giant Krabby and Bruno's giant Onix, but then I looked it up and there's apparently a ton of these things.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Giant_Pok%C3%A9mon There's about 22 Pokemon listed that are classified as "giant" because they're way above average. It also mentions that in "Hey You, Pikachu!" you could catch giant fish Pokemon and then... well, then there's this from one of the mangas:

If that's not the scariest thing ever ... I mean come on...

What do you think? I mean could you imagine the destruction that giant Dragonite could cause? The thing collapsed a cliff with the swipe of it's damn tail...

Anime & Movies / Which theme song was your favorite?
« on: January 18, 2012, 10:17:26 AM »
I have to say the first theme for the original series will always be my favorite, but some close seconds would have to be the Advanced Battle theme as well as the second season theme. You know... "We all live, in a Pokemon World.." ... that one was good. Also, I think Battle Frontier's theme was kind of bad but then it caught on to me after a while. The new themes, however, are just terrible.

Anime & Movies / Why the Anime Sucks
« on: January 17, 2012, 03:33:40 AM »
So I haven't watched Pokemon the anime in a very long time, but I recently got a glimpse at Black and White and my god... whats up with the voices? Ash, Oak, James, even Meowth, they all sound terrible! The animation itself has seriously improved and the story isn't so bad considering its aimed directly at kids, but the voices are horrid. I couldn't take anyone serious!

General Chat / Middle Stage
« on: January 15, 2012, 12:50:10 AM »
So does anyone else prefer the middle stage or second evolution for some of the starters? Sure there are other Pokemon that I feel this way about, but with the starters its always been traditional to either keep them at their first stage or evolve them to their last. For example, I prefer Quilava over Typhlosion. Don't get me wrong, Typhlosion is awesome, but I like Quilava because it's still small enough to sit on a shoulder or follow a trainer around without looking out of place, yet not baby-ish looking like Cyndaquil. It's the perfect form, to me. There's also Bayleef, because I think Meganium looks terrible. Wartortle is pretty badass but Blastoise is one of my favorites so I have to evolve it.

Games / Which was the Best game?
« on: January 11, 2012, 08:09:34 PM »
I know there is already a topic on people's favorite game, but I want to which people think is the hands down best in the series? For example, Red version will always be my favorite at heart, but I honestly think SoulSilver and HeartGold are the best of them. It has great updated graphics, 2 regions, a load of Pokemon, any pokemon can follow you, day/night/weather-related events, and lots of content. I also enjoyed the story. I don't know, I just thinks its the best as far as content and gameplay. Of course many might say Black and White is the best looking, I prefer the older Pokemon selection that I get in SS/HG.

Trainers Lounge / Ash and Giovanni
« on: January 09, 2012, 07:22:53 AM »
Anyone ever wonder why Giovanni was never revealed as Ash's father? I mean, there's never been much continuity in Pokemon aside from small ongoing plots, but you know, it's mostly always felt like filler. I remembered recently that Silver from Gen. 2 was revealed to be Giovanni's son and I immediately thought him and Red as being half-brothers. I know the whole main villain being the protagonist's father is cliche but still, it seemed inevitable. After all, who IS Ash's father?

Ideas & Suggestions / Alternative ways of leveling Pokemon?
« on: January 08, 2012, 07:48:09 AM »
Hi, I've had an account for a while but never did much with it. Anyway, I've seen many topics regarding skill trees, talents, and job systems to truly make every player unique and not just all Pokemon trainers. If something like that is established, I think Pokemon should gain exp. through means other than battling. For example, if a Pokemon is successful in a contest, they may gain experience. Looking at some of the other suggested "activities" to take part in the game (IE: Breeding, Researching) well, obviously there isn't much exp. to be gained for Pokemon there. I just feel like PU has this atmosphere where you don't necessarily *have* to be a trainer. Albeit catching the Pokemon yourself is a given, you don't have to follow the Pokemon league to have fun. I don't know, just something I was thinking about because PU seems like it'll be much more open world than the other online Pokemon "MMOs", if you'd call them that.

Trainers Lounge / Just a small typo...

Wasn't sure the appropriate forum to report a "bug", but I figured I'd let you guys know that the word "Development" is spelled as "Develoment" when you click on the link. Sorry for being a pedant :P

General Chat / It doesn't even make sense now...
« on: December 05, 2010, 08:16:24 AM »
Okay, so it seems with each new generation the pokemon get a little bit ... dumber looking. There are too many cutesy pokemon and they're looking more and more ... babyish? They start to look like weird cartoons, like this guy:

To the point, it seems like they don't even care about logic anymore. With pokemon born wearing clothes, such as this guy: , you wonder how it could get much worse right?

Well how do you explain this:

Honestly, HOW DOES IT WORK?! A pokemon born with the pokeball design on it used as a defense mechanism ... sure ... because a pokeball is a natural design...I don't get it. It's like their acknowledging that humans make pokemon...not....whatever legendary they claim did now. I miss when Mew was god :(
