Jak and Daxter as well as Ratchet and Clank are works of genius. Definately a golden age in the PS2 era.

Jak 2 and 3 were amazing games, it took me almost a month to beat Jak 2 (i wanted to get everything in the game anyway and all the orbs). Currently I got The Lost Frontier for the PSP but have only played it once yet. I don't really dig playing 3D platformers in a small screen :/

NOTHING!

Well considering I now put my keyboard in my room I play with it every day, as I used to only play with it about twice a week or something, so I guess I'm improving my skills. I say that rather than 'learn' cause I don't really take any lessons or even go learn stuff online lol.

General Chat / Re: Satoshi Tajiri has Asperger Syndrome

Since when has he had Asperger?

Also there are other people designing the Pokémon, I'm not even sure if he's responsible only for the actual Pokémon concept. Ken Sugimori is the main man behind the Pokémon (creatures) concept, he drew the first 151 all himself, and all official Pokémon drawings are by him.

The main man responsible for the GAMES is Jun'ichi Masuda (at least since D/P/Pt) who is also the main music composer.

That sounds alot like spanish.
NOT spanish. I'd rather have you call it moonspeak. XD but yes the language that most sounds like spanish.

C'mon :'( Portuguese used to be one of the most speaked languages in the world.
And, yeh, latin languages have a lot of similarities.

I said rather moonspeak than spanish cause Portuguese is a far greater language to be ever compared to Spanish ::)

There's a bar right there where you just browse for the picture you want and then upload it. You should then copy the 'direct link' and put it between the [img] tags.

Development / Re: PU Music Update
« on: February 15, 2010, 03:24:38 PM »
LOL Tymid. Are you into music theory more than I am? XD I never had any music or theory lessons, I just kind of go and compose stuff using my own knowledge and experience so in terms of technical terms and mumbo jumbo you probably are way better than where I stand ;D

But I'm the kind of person who finds that the most I understand things, the less amusing they seem.

Just because of that I might let you have a peek on the actual music. As far as the second one goes, the melody is completely original. I just made it in triplets, used a recurring motiff from the original Pokémon theme for the intro bit and (as I've said a billion times) proccessed the midi through the gameboy advance synth. All that combined just makes it sound like a song ripped off an original game :b

Jobs / Re: job request and quest idea

Is there a way I could join the team my problem is that I am not 18 but I want to help I mean I like submitting ideas and stuff but what I really am good at is sheet music ,and I know you have a music writer and hes probably better than me but I want to help I would post my music but there isn't a forum for it,  and like I said I want to help and just the possibility of listening to my music while I am on a route would be amazing. So I don't know who to go to so I posted here, and I know I legally cant get hired but still even a unofficial position would work , just as long as whoever does the music at least listens,or reads my music. Its none lyric orchestra music. (I play the violin)But I know bass, viola, and a little cello.  So if PU is interested I will post my music just tell me where ,and I will post it.
Sorry about not replying earlier, only yesterday I had the time to check out your music, and I've had alot of thought about it. I don't think we'll put you in the team though, you or anyone else, I think we'll set the job position as locked. This for a few reasons.

Me and Mr_Dark have very specific ideas in terms of what we want to do for this game. Perhaps about 1/3 of the soundtrack has been composed, and it follows some particular defined leitmotiffs, as well as the composition styles used by original Pokémon game composers Jun'ichi Masuda and Go Ichinose. Also, each piece of music is proccessed through the Gameboy Advance synth, which is a frustrating proccess when things go wrong for no reason, because there's a limit of 5 notes at the same time and there are specific groups of instruments that can be used for one song. I've been composing since like, September, and it still messes me up sometimes.

Nothing against you in particular, you're not the first person to want to collaborate with music for the soundtrack. The only reason we never really defined that nobody else could join the job is because I always tend to think about it from my own perspective of when I discovered PU. But to avoid more situations like this I'll just set the job position as locked.

If you do want any of your music to appear in some form in the game, maybe we could do something about that, I don't know. There have been ideas such as an in-game radio or something, but we have to think that through.

Ok I'm not gonna be an asshole and I know you guys wanna listen to something lol.

So I've had this on YouTube and MySpace for a long time and some of you have already listened to it, but many new people around here haven't.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8gBByTisP0

The background music in this video is just one of the route themes from the game. If you've played Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald this will sound very familiar in terms of composition style.

Let me know what you guys think. :)

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: PU Music
« on: February 08, 2010, 06:35:16 PM »
Hmm. Don't think I've ever noticed this topic before :b Anyway, in answer to some of your questions...

Yes, at some point I will release a full soundtrack in good mp3 quality where every song loops twice. The soundtrack will also include any music that doesn't make it into the game, remixes and some other very interesting stuff :3

As for the day/night music differences that probably won't be made, as it would make the game pretty bigger in size. There is already a diversified selection of music though.

Also, we're planning on having VERY awesome unlockable bonuses in terms of music. I just won't tell you what they are not to ruin the surprise :3

Hi Draagn :3

I'm the music composer for the game. You wouldn't be the first and probably last person to want to make music for the game, before and after I applied for the job. This is a project I'd really like to fully take on by myself, not only because of what it means to me but also due to the technical jabbery mess that goes for every song I proccess through the GBA synth.

But I guess I'm taking it too seriously lol. And I obviously cannot judge anyone. Before I found PU I would give away a kidney to be able to compose the soundtrack for a Pokémon or Final Fantasy game. If I put myself in your position I would really love to be given a shot at composing. So if you want to share your stuff, show us some of your stuff. I would very gladly like to hear it. :D
