These are really good; Miss Wednesday should start a thread for her drawings.

Alright, I'm kind of hung up a little. I'm still overwhelmed by the choices. I managed to get half a team, but I'm not sure what would compliment these pokemon well. Right now, I have Absol as a physical sweeper, Gengar as a special sweeper, and Sylveon as a special wall (I guess it could be used a support too. It's pretty versatile from what I've read). I'm not sure what I should use for the rest of the spots though. I need a lead, a physical wall, and a support. Any suggestions?

Yeah Toast! is still the catchiest song ever. There is nothing better than toast.

Nothing.

I would totally get that Nicolas Cage extension if I used Chrome. Google has a nasty habit of infringing upon the privacy of others, so I refuse to use their browser or their search engine.

I'm going to be severely disappointed if nobody has made a Firefox version.

And, as long as we're sharing Youtube videos, here's this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ_bhwCgtXg

This is four guys playing a horribly translated version of Pokemon Crystal. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was translated from Japanese to Vietnamese, and then to English. The result is absolutely hilarious. The video is a bit long, and it kind of starts out a little slow. It gets better as they go. Episode 2 is even better.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I don't intend to use Absol as a lead, I just want to use it as a starting point for my team, and build around it.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look at these and decide what to use.

This one is for Humen:

Alright, so let's say there is an RP currently running. The GM has set specific standards for the profiles. The GM requests that everybody must provide a detailed written description of their character's appearance (pictures are not allowed). He/She has asked that those who wish to join the RP send their profile in a PM for approval. The GM wishes to post the accepted profile in a designated profile thread, where only they are allowed to post, so that they can keep things organized. Let's say that a new forum member posts a profile in the profiles thread, and that this profile does not meet the standards the GM has set(There is no written description of the character.). The new member then immediately posts in the IC thread. What do you do?

I found my theme song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Slkuf2ZDFAM

Ignore the crappy slideshow, and Bob and Tom's sickening laughter towards the end. Their laughter gets really annoying at times.

I was gonna post again and work on my team over the weekend, but I like my maple syrup more than my pokemanz.

Anyway, I think I want to start with Absol, and kind of build around him. I'm not sure if I'm going about this the right way. I plan to find one or two pokemon that synergize well with Absol (or Mega Absol, possibly). Once Absol's main weaknesses are covered, then I'll look at the weaknesses the first half of my team has, and pick three more pokemon that cover my weaknesses and synergize well with the rest of my team.

Which pokemon would synergize well with Absol/Mega Absol? And am I going about this right, or is there a better way to do this?

I knew I was forgetting something.

What kind of team are you looking for? Such as and annoy-er team with walls, tanks, stalls and supports. A purely offensive team. A mixture of both? Or something else.
There tons of different style teams.
I believe I mentioned this, but I may have been using the wrong term.

A mixture of both would be referred to as a "balanced" team, right? That's what I thought I remembered it being from a couple of years ago. I could be wrong. Anyway, I'm looking for a mixture of both.

What are some of your favorite pokemon? I can tell you what they are good at and tell you of some pokemon that would go good with them.
Let's see... I remember liking Absol when I had started battling on PO. Typhlosion is another one that I like, and I remember liking Swampert because of his tankiness. Scizor was in one of my teams as well. Alakazam, Blissey, Bronzong, Bisharp, and Machamp are the only other ones I can remember taking a liking to.

That's probably a pretty small list, but hopefully it's enough to work with.

Hey guys, I'm working on building a team for the balance server, and I need some help. I have no idea where to start, because there's just too many goddamn pokemon to choose from XD

I need some suggestions for a balanced team (with mixed types. I'm not going to get into mono teams just yet.). I'm not looking for someone to just build me a good team, I just need some suggestions to give me a good starting point. Since so many pokemon have been balanced, I'm assuming that I'm going to have a lot more choices than on regular PO, so I guess what I need are some suggestions for pokemon that have good synergy, or that work well in a balanced team. Once I've got enough suggestions, I can kind of pick out something I think I would like and build around that. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated as well.

Another thing I think should be brought up is lack of detail in plot. Generally we are given a vague understanding of what is happening, but a lot of times they forget to include things such as cities. The most common is Rps that focus around some sort of war. The GM will focus on the war and how it came about, and that's good, but what about major battles of the war? What about the cities the war affected most? Factions that remained neutral?

Kinda just saying maybe make things less black and white.
^This

One of the things that caused me to stop RPing here was for this reason. RPs without detailed plots almost always fail (in my experience anyway), because everybody tends to lose interest. It seems that many people either forget or don't understand that the interesting stuff is in the details.

If we're allowed to nominate other people, then I second Meowth's nomination. Blades seems to know his stuff about role-playing. As for defusing situations, I'm just going to take Meowth's word for it. I haven't really had much interaction with Blades.

I think foodonfloor would be capable of being a moderator also. I haven't talked to him all that much either, but he seems to know his way around an RP.

EDIT: I guess foodonfloor nominated himself. Still want to nominate Blades though. I want to see what happens.

Will do, Roloc. I started reading up on the basics, but I had to stop. I'm having one of those days where my mind just doesn't seem to want to function properly. Hopefully I'll be alright tomorrow, and I can get a basic idea of what I want out of my team. I mainly have to read up on the changes that the 5th and 6th gen brought, as I haven't been keeping up with Pokemon at all since I played through White. I'll probably end up starting with a bunch of Pokemon that look promising, switch some of them out to cover my weaknesses and get a general theme going, and then get some advice to see what should change.

The limit could always be lower
...
You'd need a mod's approval to bump the limit up for your RP, because in a few cases, you may need more people for your RP to work.
That's what I was getting at with my last sentence. So long as an RP's limit can be adjusted with a mod's approval, I'm fine with it.

I don't agree with limiting an RP to 6 players. That should be the choice of the GM. If the GM wants to limit it, that's fine; but if a GM wants a higher limit (or no limit) for their RP, they should be able to have that limit. I suppose it would be okay to have 6 as a default limit, so long as a GM could request a higher or lower limit.
