Fan Fiction & Writing / Hyper Zombie Timecops!
« on: September 12, 2011, 12:37:10 PM »
John woke in the morning - yawning loudly as he stretched like a cat. It was just a normal day of a normal week for him, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.  Nothing at all.
He remembered he wasn't alone in the bed however, so he slinked out carefully to avoid waking the beautiful blonde partially on top of him.

Leaving his bedroom, John accidentally tripped on a lame childish figurine he kept from his childhood, that had fallen off the shelf over the course of the night - he caught himself on the door, which creaked under his weight. The blonde lifted herself up off the bed, and sauntered down the hallway after him.

The pair made their way into the kitchen - where John started gathering a variety of cooking utensils - he fixed his guest chops with his kitchen knife, and eggs with his frying pan, displaying masterful knowledge of cullinary techniques.

Once his guest was adequately dealt with, John moved to his loungeroom - giving a wave to his neighbour who was mowing the lawn, and, finally turning on the TV, settled to plan out his day.

At least, that's how John wishes he could tell the story.

What happened in reality was that John woke on an especially unique day in a very historic week of the year. He screamed as he discovered the zombie perched on top of him - and narrowly avoided the ex-woman's grasp as he fell out of bed. He tripped on the lame toy, and near broke his jaw on the doorknob, letting out a thud that alerted his undead neighbours. He ran down his hall, panicked - while his assailant shambled after.

Bursting into the kitchen, John picked up any sort of weapon he could find. He'd seen movies about the living dead - there's never a peaceful option when corpses come a'knockin'.
Wielding a kitchen knife and frying pan, he clumsily engaged in a very biased fight with the ghoul - narrowly claiming his life as winnings before vomiting over the organs he had exposed on the re-corpsed corpse.

He proceeded into the loungeroom to see his neighbours clumsily shambling through his yard - and then checked the door. It was unlocked. Damn it!
Diving over his sofa, John did what he should have done at 2am the previous night and spat in the eyes of youth deliquents everywhere.

John feared the glass back door would be only a temporary fix for the issue though, so he turned on the TV - listened to about half a Public Service Announcement and then rashly resolved to GET THE chansey OUT OF THIS HOUSE.

But at least he could say that he woke up with a blonde on top of him.
In fact, he could almost say... she was drop dead gorgeous. Ohohohoho.

---

John's health: 28/100.

John gained +1 Bragging Right!
John gained +1 Freakin' Sweet Alterego!
John gained +25 exp!

John Picked Up:
   - A kitchen knife
   - A frying pan
   - A TV Remote
   - A blonde zombie (Ohohohoho.)

John emptied his stomach! 5/250.

With 113 Speed, Electabuzz is had to match.

Explanation of Set
Oh Mothim, you so ridiculous. You got just a bit of a stat buff, and BAM - excellency.
This set is made such that you always have either neutral, or SE coverage.
Superpower hits Steels and Rocks that like to eat your STABs for Super-Effective, while Psychic gets rid of pesky Poison/Fightings that don't mind your Bug STAB and Superpower.
X-Scissor is effective for getting rid of Darks that switch into Psychic.

Special Wall @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Atk
Insomnia, Careful
- Wish
- Protect
- Hypnosis / Thunder Wave
- Psycho Cut /  Brick Break / Focus Punch

Explanation of Set
Hypno is a boss of a Pokemon, he's always been one of my favourites. With this set he performs as a good Special wall, and can support the team by passing Wishes, or Thunder Waving every opponent in sight.
The last move is to stop Hypno from being Taunt bait - Psycho Cut is STAB, while Brick Break hits many walls hard. Focus Punch works wonders with Hypnosis, and performs well on switches when predicted correctly.

Example Set
HoneHustle @ Life Orb
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Hustle, Jolly
- Hone Claws
- X-Scissor
- Iron Head
- Thunder Fang / Rock Slide

Explanation of Set
Hustle decreases your accuracy, and Hone Claws tops it up again - while giving you 2.25x Damage on each of your attacks. STABs are for STAB sake - Thunder Fang hits Gyarados and Jellicent for a lot of damage (Jellicent particularly resists both STABs, Gyarados is just a jerk). Rock Slide however hits fires that may try to switch in.

Example Set
Band @ Choice Band
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Hustle, Jolly
- X-Scissor
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- Thunder Fang

Explanation of Set
This is a high risk, ridiculous rewards set - if you hit with this set, the opponent's probably going down. 2.25x Damage without set up is ridiculous, and coming off Durant's high base attack, it's a sure dent on every poke - sure KOs on others.
Just watch out though, if you miss, you will probably lose your Durant.

Example Set
Weather-Counter @ Life Orb / Leftovers
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Cloud Nine, Timid
- Protect / Encore
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- HP Grass

Explanation of Set
This guy is your one-stop weather counter. He stops Rain, Hail, Sand or Shine.
Protect scouts for Solarbeam / Thunder - or you can try Encoring the enemy's previous moves if they're not very effective.
Surf beats Fire, Ground, Rock found in Sun and Sand teams.
Ice Beam beats Ground, Grass found in Sand and Sun. It also is useful for simply countering those Dragons.
HP Grass beats down Waters, Grounds, Rocks found in Rain, and Sand.

This guy is so effective because he simply removes any advantage the enemy had. If they were a Swift Swimmer, now they're back to regular speed. This surprises most weather teams as they are centered around boosting slow Pokemon to great speeds. Now they're slow again.

Example Set
Work Up @ Life Orb
200 Atk / 252 Spe / 56 SpA
Cloud Nine, Naive / Hasty
- Work Up
- Ice Beam
- Cross Chop
- Aqua Jet

Explanation of Set
Manage to get a Work Up or two, then proceed to hurt everything in sight.
Ice Beam is for taking down any Grasses that try to switch in, as well as physically defensive Ground pokes.
Cross Chop is for basic wallbreaking. Steels, Normals, get them out of here.
Aqua Jet is your ace in the hole for Priority if you need to revenge or if something faster than you switches in.
