Legendary Question
« on: April 22, 2010, 10:13:56 pm »
Hey yall i just had a quick question about legendaries in this game. So what ive seen so far is legendaries will not be catchable but they can help you in quests which i understand and i actually think thats a good idea, but what i wanted to know is what is this games definition of legendaries? I have always thought of legendaries as the end game pokemon that have uber stats like lugia/groudon/palkia and special event guys. What im trying to get at is, will pokemon such as the three dogs or three birds or three regis also be included in this legendary no catch list? Because in my team that i hoped to have in this game i included raikou, who is in my top 5 pokemon, and im wondering if I will have to pick a replacement. Thx in advance :)

I think the Legendary Dogs/Birds are included as Legendaries in most cases unless its competitive battling then no. But that is up to the PU Team to decided.

Ya i really wish they werent haha. I understand if they are though since there is only one of each in the games but they arent as strong as the real legendaries.

I'm relatively sure that the thee legendaries for each region will also be included in that list; as they are rare, hard to find, and there is usually only one of them per world, as defined by the game. Once you capture Articuno, you can't catch another.

So, in short, no. I doubt they will be in the game either.

The legendaries we are talking about are on this list. Excluding the "Other Pokémon of myth"

Alternative you can just read the [Poll] Best Legendary thread.

I hope Lucario is allowed..! >w<!
Because I don't really think it would be a legendary.
At best it would be a rare.

Ya i was thinking hes not part of that category but you can only get one of them in the game so i was just wondering

Plus im pretty sure theres a movie just about him and hes in Super Smash Brothers Brawl so that puts him a bit over the other pokemon...

Then again Jigglypuff is in SSB  XD

This is true, and in the movie it even has telepathic powers. Have you even seen a pokemon with telepathy, who is not a legendary?

A legendary with telepathy..? Wouldn't that count as Mewtwo from the first Pokemon movie? :/?

These are the pokemon whom use telepathy, as far as I know:
Mewtwo
Shaymin
Lugia
Entei (At least the Entei that Unknown creates)
Jirachi
Lucario

All I can think of, and they're all legendaries. Right? :P

Quoted From The bulpedia legendary list page:

Lucario and its master Sir Aaron were forever revered because of their help pacifying an ancient battle, as seen in the eighth movie. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, a Lucario was regarded as a legendary Rescue Team Leader in the distant past, and "Lucario Rank" is the highest attainable team rank in the game. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia he is the only non-legendary guardian of a prince tear. Also, in the opening of the Diamond and Pearl theme song, Lucario appears beside Dialga and Palkia.

Too me it seems as a legendary even thought he really isn't one. I would vote for not atainable in PU. Even though I love Lucario and thinks it's awesome. But personal feelings aside, I vote no lucario. :P

But, if the PU Developers balance the Pokémon's equally enough. So that no Pokémon is overpowered, I could go with making Lucario catchable, as I want to own a Dragonite, which is also a super rare powerful Pokémon.
