We're not gonna trolololol them. If they don't see, eventually we'll send it to one of them.

Here's a hint for you.

Make every gym have pokemon at level ~ 10,20,30 and so on.
Then if THE TEAM decides to go with your Pokemon, we'll have multiple options for each new Gym.

I would love to see the last gym having pokemon int he 80s and the elite four have pokemon in the 90s and the champ having all lvl 100s.  That would be great.

Dear Mr. Bing

You have totally missed an important part;
  • Gym leaders; level 15 - 100
  • Brutal 5; level 100
  • No Champion (PvP Battling instead)

Note that in the final end it is THE TEAM that decides, and we may change anything - even the looks the gym leaders.

Here is an example of how it MIGHT work:

why would it be that you can only battle one of two gym leaders after defeating a previous one, wouldn't it make more sense to be able to choose which 8 you want to battle. (obviously that's to enter the pokemon league, you'd have to go back and beat the other gyms if you wish to battle the brutal 5)

I don't quite understand your question.

You do choose which 8 gyms to battle;

examples:
Normal -> Rock -> Grass -> Ground -> Ghost -> Fighting -> Dark -> Dragon
Normal -> Rock -> Electric -> Ground -> Ghost -> Steel -> Dark -> Dragon
Normal -> Bug -> Fire -> Flying -> Ice -> Fighting -> Dark -> Dragon

Remember this is an mmo - a wide map of long roads to follow. Quests to do and areas to explore;
If see you see each 'arrow' as a path to the Victory Road you might understand it differently.

If your question is: "Why am I not allowed to battle Flying and Ground", then the answer is simple - because in this scenario, they are in the same level range.

but does that mean we can go

normal-rock-fire-poision-ice-steel and so forth, or do we have to follow the paths of the arrows?

Poison would be illegal in this scenario.

Note that this is just an idea and not final. The arrows might be deleted and you might even have to do all 17 gyms before you are allowed into the Pokemon League.

I actually would prefer to do all 17 gyms. It's more fun that way. Maybe the team could implent something like the gym going up in levels according to your strongest pokémon (but min lvl 20/30 or so), and you could do gyms in a random order. That would give it a more 'MMO' feeling (more freedom).

Which also means that you can speculate: Battling only with low level Pokemon with strong egg moves, TM moves and whatnot, will most likely give you an unfair advantage.

Not to forget that the area in which the Gyms are located, also have Pokemon within the same level range - Maybe a bit lower. But certainly not level 20 all over the place.

That's for the quest - and storywriters to say.

Maybe we could challenge eight gyms, beat the Brutal Five, and then challenge the other nine whenever we want to after beating the Brutal Five. That way, you still have the important choices to make, but you still have the option battle the other gym leaders that you couldn't before.

I'm personally in for this idea.
The Brutal 5 have unknown locations and are therefor hard to find. If you succesfully find and beat them all, you should be allowed to be able to challenge the remaining Gyms. All of whom now have their Pokemon on level 100 of course.
