well my newest little venture: a little project i like to call, Pokemon over-world sprite overhaul, Pokemon universe style,
first Pokemon currently in progress

this is swampert it is of course based on what i thought would be the proper dimensions, also i will get the head to move up and down a little to give a little more emphasis on the movement

here's its side movement i realize i gotta make the fin move up and down on his butt completely forgot about it

And for the side movement of Swampert, it seems like it's being held back by something, lol. Looking forward for the finished one :)

nice job Amphy i like the size of swampert,it does not look smaller than the trainer..
it looks like in anime the original size of pokemon...*thumbs up*

Nice. Do you plan to make sprites for all poke's or just the starters?

I like the size and the art-work is very impressive.
But I feel Swampert looks a bit.... slow and dumb :P.

Dont get me wrong, it looks great, and I could never hope to do anything as good, but I feel its missing some "cool factor"

Maybe you can try making the belly of Swampert move a little to satisfy Gammal... ;)

this is in fact a work in progress I'm still trying to make our poor little swampert look good, i also will be doing starters for now once i finish them i plan on going in numerical order from after blastoise to the end... leaving all the legendaries for last, but for now what do you al think i can do to improve my swampert ^ ^

forgot to say jerry but this sprite is made in honor of you i plan on doing the mudkip evolution for you^ ^

I like the swampert walking sprite. But its cool factor would be through the roof if there was an idle swampert sprite similar to this

I'll be glad to help. You see, if I start from nothing, the sprite gets really ugly. However, I can handle image editing pretty well.

Lol, in fact more, since right now, I'm in holidays, so I have the time to edit the sprites, but then I have important exams coming in June and October >.<

plus it also depends on how lazy i am feeling for some reason i wanna take a small break from the spriting lol

Could use a lot more shading, and the shading on the belly looks really weird :P
Looks like the light is coming from beneath, like if it's walking on a light bulb lmao. ^^

i based it off of the hg/ss follow sprite so don't blame me blame gamefreak

no i have no reason to copy if you compare it to Hg/ss follow sprite there is many differences
1" HG/SS is 2 frames while mine is 3
2" mine is full of detail and also to scale with the trainer. theirs is infact not
if i felt like going through anymore id be really bored and seriously if it bugs you so much make one yourself with better shading i do this just for fun no other reason

The eyes still seem a bit off to me; or maybe it's the shape of it's forehead.
Umbreon always gave me the impression of a quizzical, forlorn expression. This one seems really pissed off about something. I usually stick to spriting within terms of the game sprites, so take this with a grain of salt: Maybe if you elongate his nose/mouth area a bit, slope the forehead some more, and adjust the eyes so they look more like almonds.
EDIT: Yeah, don't get me wrong. It's really good and I like it. :) I'm still learning to free hand pixel myself and my attempts aren't even close. I was just offering up my two cents in constructive form, for what it's worth.
