Note:
This is for pokemon showdown which has nothing to do with stat/movepool changes that PU has done. Please keep this in mind when giving advise to people. Thank you.
This is basically a topic for people who play Pokemon Showdown! or watches others. You can post your Battles, comment on others' battles and help them refine their team to max efficiency, and also to request battles. If you want to set a battle, make sure you post your Username for PS so it's possible to do so (or you can place it in the area that's always below your post.) Here's one of mine:
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-41049140 (http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-41049140)
This is my first and only Sand team I've ever created.
As for my Username, it's Shining Darkness.

You can't really see everything about someone's team from just a replay. They would need to post their team as well if they needed help with it. I will be glad to help anyone who is looking for help with their team. :)
My first question to you, Black, is why do you have focus blast on t-tar? Superpower is far superior to focus blast even with it's negative effects. I'm not telling you to change it, just want to know why you use focus blast.

oh someone critique my team here's a battle of perseverance and no one give me crap about thundurus.

Basically, I don't get stalled by weather, entry hazards, or any of the basic things opponents have. Sableye to stop boosters and status abusers, Ditto to take on a resist, or take advantage of a boosted opponent, Volcarona has dual use in both sun and rain. Reuniclus doesn't take weather damage, Gliscor for a nice boost sweep, and Breloom to do take care of slower, bulkier opponents. I have a few wins under my belt with this team, and I quite like it. But if you see something that can be improved, go ahead. Also, I don't know why all of them are female. I have it set to random gender.

3 Choice scarfs? Seems quite team hindering if you ask me. I would suggest no more then 2 choice items per team.
Choice Scarf Rampardos? Even with jolly and max EVs it's still only 354 speed. While that's not a bad speed, you still put yourself at a disadvantage by not being able to switch moves. and with the moves you have chosen, a good tank/wall can switch in and stop rampardos. I recommend you replace outrage with head smash. head smash will be your go to attack and will put dents and OHKO every pokemon in the NU and RU tier even the tanks/walls.
4 physical attackers and 1 special attacker. I suggest you change golduck to a special attacker. It's a great special attacker with access to some pretty good special attacks.

I've only started recently, so my team is.... flawed to say the least. I tried going mostly defensive, but I failed. QwQ

I've edited my post to have my team, Roloc. And to answer your question, most people use physical T-tars, both on computer and DS. This set uses it's SpA, making any wall used to counter the physical set in for a suprise. Specs are equiped to further that suprise into a possible fatal mistake. I'll try it later to see if it works better for me, but I usually get lucky with FB. But like I said, I'll try Superpower.
As for my next team, It's made for Ubers.

Here's the details:
Why!? (Shedinja) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Wonder Guard
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Swords Dance
- X-Scissor
- Sucker Punch
Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Toxic
Sawsbuck @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech
- Jump Kick
- Megahorn
- Wild Charge
Primeape @ Focus Sash
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
Cryogonal @ Occa Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Reflect
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin
Aggron @ Custap Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Metal Burst
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
Keep in mind, I've never used Shedinja before this battle, so this team is probably the most noobish one I've created, for the others are meant to be revolved around it.
Comments, Thoughts?
-
i dont think any of those pokemon are ubers but im not sure which are anyway.
-
I meant that the team is made for uber battles. Shedinja is an Uber.
-

I know. Thats why I was wondering why you had such a weird set. Now I know.
I meant that the team is made for uber battles. Shedinja is an Uber.
I'm pretty sure Shedinja is an NU pokemon, not an Uber(it was a while back anyway). According to smogon it is anyway, and showdown is smogon so.
I've only started recently, so my team is.... flawed to say the least. I tried going mostly defensive, but I failed. QwQ
play.pokemonshowdown.com/replay-ou-41461320
Miltank (F) @ Sitrus Berry / Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat (Scrappy)
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef (252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef)
Adamant Nature (Impish Nature)
- Heal Bell
- Earthquake / Body Slam
- Milk Drink
- Rollout / Curse
Blissy is your special tank, let miltank be your physical tank. Scrappy means ghost types aren't immune to your body slam.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Healer
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef (252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef)
Bold Nature (Careful Nature)
- Aromatherapy
- Protect / Seismic Toss
- Softboiled
- Toxic / Seismic Toss
Blissy is a special wall and it does it well, you should always let it's do it's job. Switch either protect or toxic for seismic toss
Shuckle @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
IVs: 0 attack / 0 special attack (makes your power split that much more devastating to the enemy)
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef (252 HP / 28 Def / 228 SDef)
Calm Nature (Bold Nature)
- Power Split
- Earth Power / Wrap (traps your enemy so they can't get away from the mighty shuckle. It also does residual damage too)
- Toxic
- Mud-Slap / Rest
Arceus (Zoroark) @ Shell Bell / Life orb(Though shell bell seems nice, it's not as good as leftovers)
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Dark Pulse / flame thrower
- Calm Mind / nasty plot
- Night Daze
Zoroark makes for a good Sweeper and because of it's ability, it is able to set up pretty easy sometimes.
Always keep Gengar as your last pokemon in your party, Zoroark will always look like Gengar which is great
People will see a gengar and won't use fighting moves or bug moves(both are SE against zoroark)
because gengar is immune to one and 4x resist the other making it one of the best pokemon to use with zoroark.
Conkeldurr @ Black Belt / leftovers
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef (252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def)
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
- Bulk Up
Gengar @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd (4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd)
Hasty Nature / Timid Nature
- Disable
- Hypnosis / Substitute
- Sludge Bomb / Shadow Ball
- Foul Play / Focus Blast / HP: Fighting
I see your going for a disable set. Nice, I like it too. Just needed a few tweaks. While Foul Play isn't bad for Gengar, it's just better to go with a fighting attack to cover your dark weakness. Always go for jolly or timid nature when choosing speed. The only exception is when your making a mixed attacker and you don't want to lower the offensive stats. You can choose focus blast for the high power it offers or choose HP: Fighting for the accuracy. Both are good choices so it's all up to you.
Any ways for me to improve my team?
Bulky teams aren't all bad but it does have it's weak spots as well. In almost every battle you always need a little speed (and you have a nice speedy pokemon) but if you can run a bulky team right you can over come that. Speedy pokemon are often very very frail and can be OHKO'd, AFTER they hit you of course but that shouldnt be a problem cause your bulky right? ;)
As for your team, see red text in the quote.
-
Thanks! I'll try it out as soon as I can. But right now...
Nexalas used Rest!
It's super effective!

No problem! Happy to help. Hope the team works out for ya.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!
-
My pupils do me proud. I'm surprised you made the changes I suggested. Most people ignore me thinking that I don't know what I'm talking about.
You got your team down now. Over the course of many many many battles you will see things in your team that you never used or use very little, switch them out for different moves. This is called fine tuning your team. No team is perfect when you make it. But over the course of lots of battles and fine tuning your team and your skills it can come really close. The skills come naturally with lots of battles.
The number 1 advice I can give you and learn how to predict and how to not over predict. Prediction can win you many many battles, or it can cost you many many battles if you over predict.
Nice battle, Nex. I like to see shuckle wreck havoc. :D
-
Yup. Dont chanseyle with shuckle. XD thanks a bunch Roloc!

Showdown. They have pokemon that are in a tier called CAP. Its on showdown, so I just made a team out of them and fought Nex.

For some reason, I decided to make a Mono Fighting Team.

-
Here's the team:
Hitmonchan (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
- Fire Punch
Hitmonlee (M) @ Wide Lens / leichi berry
Trait: Reckless / unburden
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature / Adamant Nature
- Blaze Kick
- Hi Jump Kick
- Stone Edge / Substitute
- Bullet Punch / Substitute / EQ
I know reckless seems like the "go to" ability for hitmonlee but he is just too slow to use it effectively. The better choice is unburden. With the changes I have shown you, you can sub down till leichi berry activates and doubles your speed while also giving +1 to attack, if you played your cards right you are also behind a sub. So you will have double speed with +1 attack while being behind a sub. Sweep the trash.
Infernape @ Expert Belt
Trait: Blaze / ironfist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Mach Punch
- ThunderPunch
Not sure why you don't have iron fist on infernape. It will increase the damage of your punching attacks.
Conkeldurr @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
Toxicroak @ Focus Sash
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature

Gallade (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP

Nice mono fighting, I like it. See quote for feedback.
