Just one (at a time) and tell us why...without revealing too much to someone who might go and see it.
A recent movie that blew me away was: The Book of Eli. I tried to guess it before it happened but that damn movie still beat me up and made me like it. :P I'll probably go see this again soon.

2001: A Space Odyssey
I just watched it almost a year ago.
No words. Can describe. It's just.
No words.
I literally was drooling all over, sinking in my couch.
Trip balls.

Sling Blade
After seeing Billy Bob Thornton in Bad Santa and the Bad News Bears, my impression of him was a pretty good actor, but probably only for parts of grumpy middle-aged men.
But after seeing Sling Blade,
Man...
That man can seriously write some sick crap and back it up with his acting.
Sling Blade is a must see.
-
Mary Poppins
Unbelievable!
-
change:probably night aat the roxbury i knew it would be funny but that was hilarious.
-
Recently, it had to be Avatar. Though it was slow for the first 45 minutes, the last 2 hours just totally gave me goosebumps. In a excitment way. Also, Pearl Harbor. I've watched this movie 5 times(most I've ever watched a movie) and still can't get bored watchin it.
-
I absolutely loved Shawshank Redemption. It's a sad-ish movie, but it was so well made. And the plot twist was incredible.
I also really loved the remake of The Count of Monte Cristo. Also a kind of sad-ish movie. From the very beginning, the movie makes you love the main character. They take the entire movie in the direction you want. It's a bit predictable, but I'd watch it a thousand times.
-
It has to be "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly". It may be around 40 years old but it is still the best clint eastwood film ever :)
-
The Matrix - seriously my all-time favorite move and it still blows my mind (seen it too many times :D)
-
Avatar,, It look's fantastic! <3
~ The story...-
Screw the story << The movie was awesome! 8)

-
Actually "Die Welle" is a fantastic German film about a school teacher who sets up a fascist movement in the school. An absolute must see.
-
Spirited Away was a really good one. ;.D No matter how old I get, I still love that one.
-

A great movie for Sceptics.

Blood Simple.
Amazing. Crime thriller...
Anything by the Coens is usually amazing, like No Country for Old Men

-
A walk to remember, the saddest film since the Lion King. :'(
-
I just saw From Paris With Love and that movie is amazing and its a must see. The ending is pretty sad though.
-
The basketball diaries. A young Leonardo diCaprio playing a punk who get hooked on heroin. I lost a close friend of mine to heroin addiction and movies about that hit very close to home for me. Not to mention some very good acting. and it features Mark Wahlburg.
-
A walk to remember, the saddest film since the Lion King. :'(
Absolutely love that movie.
-
The Truman Show and the eng of Lord of the Rings always seem to make me cry.
Also, I have coulrophobia ever since I watched It.
-
Sad to say this but. Vampires Assistant, It's odd because i hate vampire movies and most of their acting sucked. I have watched the movie like 12 times now and can't get bored of watching it.
It blows me away cause the movie is not good but i can't stop watching it for some reason lol.....
-
What Dreams May Come, with Robin Williams, the man is a genius, and the movie just inspires so many emotions and makes you think.
-
Too many to name!
A few that actually changed me as a person from watching them are:
Life As A House (Pretty heavy film, evokes all sorts of emotions)
American Beauty (Another heavy one, but beautiful and thought-provoking)
Yes Man (Inspiring. Believe it!)

Drag Me To Hell was the most realistic depiction of demonic activity to ever hit the big screen. Love that movie.
Also, has anyone here ever watched a movie called The Monster (Home Sweet Home)? It's billed as a horror movie, but it's so much deeper than that. It's actually quite sad.
-
Click blew me away when i first saw it. The ending was soo sad, I cried.

Just watched Invictus. Absolutely amazing, especially as I visited Robben Island last month.
-
The Truman Show and the eng of Lord of the Rings always seem to make me cry.
Also, I have coulrophobia ever since I watched It.
The truman Show is an incredible movie, I definitely agree.
I would have to say that the Departed is my favorite movie. John Q was a very touching performance by Denzel and Inside Man is simply a heist that I would like to pull. (Enchanted is secretly one of my top movies, shhh...)
-
my favrouite movie now is probably avatar but when i was younger i loved stand by me, the warriors and the outsiders.
-
A proper theme in relationship to this forum I would ahve to say Pokemon 2000 the power of one.
And also avatar and 2012. All great movies, blew my brainz out
-
Iron Man, Robert Downey Junior was perfect for the part of Tony Stark. Plus things done blown up in that movin picature
-
Yes Man (Inspiring. Believe it!)
I absolutely love this movie. It's funny and inspiring. I could watch it a thousand times and never get bored of it.
Also, Gran Torino is a great movie. Clint Eastwood was phenomenal in it. I can't really describe how it's so good, but it is.
-
I heard about Avater, but currently Hancock ;D
-
I've got a giant list as I'm a pretty big movie fanatic.
Catch Me if You Can (one of the best films I've ever seen. The cinematography was gorgeous. The acting was superb, but that was to be expected with the cast involved. There was good character development and dialogue. Just all across the board an excellent film.)
Casablanca (Obviously one of the best films ever made. It's topped charts since the 40s. It's given us so many catchphrases and won almost anyone who's seen it over. An excellent plot that really played out beautifully. So many great techniques were used to film it. From the clothing color to the use of glassware to express major themes and important issues in the film was brilliant. I can still watch this film over and over again and never tire of it.)
UP (I'm a huge fan of animated films and a giant fan of Pixar. I had no doubts this was going to be a great film, but it blew me away with how much better it was than my original expectations. There isn't much I can say about it other than it's in my opinion the best film Pixar has made since Toy Story.)
Walk the Line (The Johnny Cash biopic. First time I saw the movie I didn't pay attention to it. I was on a date, the girl was more important, and I wasn't even a Johnny Cash fan. Fast forward a few years after becoming a Cash fan. I gave the movie another chance and loved it. Beautifully shot, a beautiful progression of his story, and good jesus Joaquin Phoenix nailed his role so WELL. There were times when I forgot I was listening to JP and was convinced I was listening JC. Amazing.)
My last praise goes out to not a single movie, but to a Director, Animator, and Co-owner of Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki.
There isn't a single film this man has come out with that I was disappointed in. He is an absolute genius. Whether it's story telling, animating, directing, whatever. This man is my God. Some of his films include: Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, and My Neighbor Totoro.
Honorable mentions: Moulin Rouge, Inglorious Basterds, Space Jam, and The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
-
...so many catchphrases...
Here's looking to you kid

We'll always have Paris.

I really liked the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. They were done incredibly, and were really long, so all of the story could be fit in. I mainly watched it for the battle scenes though, because they are EPIC! I especially love how Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli just plow through the orcs and have a contest of who can kill the most in the middle of a battle. Plus, Gimli is hilarious.
When they battle the Warg Riders, Gimli and Legolas see who gets the most kills...
Gimli: I got 17! Beat that, pointy ears!
Legolas:... (Draws bow and shoots the orc Gimli is sitting on) 17. He was twitching.
Gimli: Well maybe thats cause I've got my axe buried in his nervous system!! (Shakes axe up and down, causing the orc to move.)
Probobly the funniest parts in the movies, but you'd have to see it for it you actually make you laugh.
I think they should make a movie from these books, they would be awesome and would probobly be my favorite movies:
-The Ranger's Apprentice Series (Great Books, Great action sequences, Great story)
-Ender's Game (They were going to make one, but they gave up...)
-
I Am Legend/7 Pounds, Tear Jerkers
-
Avatar and hopefully the upcoming Iron Man 2
-
I have to admit that, at first, I was skeptical of how Gamer would turn out. It honestly blew me away, however, when I actually went to see it.
-
Anyone seen Shutter Island? That movie was epic i still dont know what was the truth.
-
The recent Avatar movie. This realy blew my mind :o
-
The Dark Knight and Avatar are my all time favorite movies so far.
-
I loved Dark Knight, I'm hoping that the second one will be better. If that is possible.
I'm hoping that Champion Zororak Z will be good even though Pokebeach said "It is the worst Pokemon Movie yet." But you know everyone likes different movies.
-
you should watch "CUBE" its awesome and mindblowing
-
What is it about? A Cube?
-
all these different people get put in this giant cube with over 17,000 rooms and most of them have very deadly and dangerous traps. none of the people know why they are there or ever where "there is". there is only one way to escape alive. They have to each put their unique skills together to over come every obstacle if they want to stay alive.

-
Cube was awesome.
I watched Chirin no Suzu last night, and it was one of the greatest, most bleakest, animated stories I've ever come across.
-
1. Good Will Hunting (drama)
2. Lord of the Rings (action/fantasy)
3. Little Miss Sunshine (comedy)
4. Alien (horror/sci-fi)
5. The Pianist (drama/holocaust)
-
Inception> it was crazy of how many level a dream can have and how you can create stuff in the dream
-
V for Vendetta was amazing, its still my most watched movie ever
Does it have to be a movie? Cause Darker than Black still had me going more than any movie ever has.
-
2001: A Space Odyssey
I just watched it almost a year ago.
No words. Can describe. It's just.
No words.
I literally was drooling all over, sinking in my couch.
Trip balls.
Hitey, do you understand it?
I found it amazing, but I don't know what the hell it meant lol
-
Transformers series (the robots look incredibble)
Avatar (special effects are amazing)
Percy Jackson (just because it's my favorite book of all-time and they followed it for the most part.)
-
Alice (Syfy version of Alice in Wonderland)
Mild language, A twisted version.
It follows the book way better, and I wanna buy it so I can see it again.
-
Derek Zoolander. I'm amazed at how little popularity it had, considering it was the most hilarious and awesome
movie thing ever. It wasn't, like, retarded funny, and it wasn't assburger's 'wit' funny. It was just... a total...
If I had to describe it in a word, it would be:
Orgypickaxepistolpunchintheface
I mean, seriously. The plot sounds stupid when you hear it, but then you watch it, and you feel like you just became a man.

I actually thought they barely followed the book. I didn't like that movie at all. THe books are probably my favorite books though.
I recent great movie a saw was Religulous.
-
Pulp Fiction hands down. Recently, though, Machete was just mind-numbingly violent, but I liked it. I also watched Monsters, Inc recently. It was great. Deconstructing Harry and Fargo are two really good ones I saw not to long ago, even though they came out about 15 years ago.
-
V for Vendetta & Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
-
kickass to me was the best movie of 2010
-
- How high
- Innerception
- Matrix
Al those 3 movies i find them really epic awesome !
-
Alice (Syfy version of Alice in Wonderland)
Mild language, A twisted version.
It follows the book way better, and I wanna buy it so I can see it again.
I really liked it too, I think the same person that redid Alice in Wonderland is redoing Snow White too. Don't know how that'll turn out though.
-
scott pilgrim vs the world, a great underrated movie that just blew me away, i promise you it will go down as a cult classic, the graphic novel as well as the movie contain some videogame references, the graphic novels more the movie, and michael cera plays a good scott pilgrim, also got to love the gay roomate wallace, he completes the movie.
-
Definitely Mr. Beans, that guy can make me laugh so hard with facial expressions and sounds alone. No lines at all at yet I'm cracking up every freaking second.

Glad someone else thinks so.
Two other movies that blew me away are Almost Famous and I Saw The Devil.
The latter is pretty gory and crazy but oh so good.
-
Yeah i should've mentioned this one^^ its AWEsome.
-
cannibal holocaust

Watch cannibal holocaust to be truly blown away.
You'll probably have to download it though, hard to find.

When i saw this film i honestly didnt see his...lets call it aspect due to spoilers coming. I dont know why cos it should have been obvious but i think the way the movie was done was so amazing. An epic movie all the way and then ending on one moment that makes you go WTF MAN i did not see that coming...was cool though :D
So yes I liked the book of eli
