Title: Favorite Pokeball Type
Post by: TheOmega1 on April 04, 2012, 06:54:39 AM
I didn't find anything like this in the search bar, so I pose this question: What is your favorite type of pokeball? It can be from any generation, and based off of usefulness, cool-lookingness, or any other reason. My personal favorites are the Heavy Ball and the Dusk Ball.

A lot of people will say Master Ball, because it looks cool and it catches with a 100% rate on any type and level of a Pokemon.

I say Luxury Ball. Just look at dat design:

It has a awesome design, is as good as a regular pokéball, might even have the chance to catch a Legendary pokémon in it and on top of that: Pokémon that need Happiness to evolve get a boost right after they are caught. ~

Yep. You're right. I caught Entei with Luxury Ball, but Raikou and Lugia with Ultra Ball...
Suicune? Oh...Right...Master Ball

Quick ball, and timer ball. I can get a poke in one shot, or I can put It to sleep, use useless moves, and  use the timer ball, which gets stronger over time.

You get 1 if you buy 10 or more :P

But it'd be Dusk Ball first for me, then tied up Timer and Quick Ball. Either fast capture, or long time capture XD

Anyway, more of the time I play is at night, so yea, Dusk Ball is very handy :)

Lol, nice! I love that idea! I wonder what something like that would look like... And if there was a Gyarados-Ball I'd imagine not only would it work like a Master Ball, but also max your pokemon's stats :P (I like Gyarados... alot.)

Also, I kinda forgot about the Premier ball! I love the look of that thing!

You know, no one really uses those things. Or at least I don't...

My favorite is the Cherish. Not for any catch-rate enhances, but because it just looks cool and reminds me of Protoman or Zero. Then Great Ball and Ultra Ball for the same reason.

However, that being said, the one I use for legendaries is the regular Pokeball. It makes it much more of a chalenge to catch them, but I do it mostly for bragging rights.

Actually I find catching them with pokeballs are much easier for some reason... Conspiracy maybe. But personally I find the safari ball much more fun and it has camo.

*cough* Pokéball *cough*

No really,i never buy any other pokéball then the basic one.
I just consider it a feat to see a almighty caught in a pokéball.Although sometimes,it can get really boring.

But i also quite like the premier ball and the dusk ball in design.
And overall for speedrun or challenge purposes i go with a misc of different balls, never know what you will find :P

The net ball is my favourite simply because in my opinion, it's beautiful!
It looks really cool (to me, anyway) and emphasises the whole point of capturing a pokémon.

Dusk ball, because it has a cool desighn, AND the fact that I mainly play pokemon at night, so it comes in handy.

Here's a question that might be an interesting thing to think about:

If you give a Pokemon some kind of Pokeball to hold, and it uses Fling in battle, would it/would it not catch another Pokemon?

(To make my post relevant I also like the Luxury Ball, since it's elegant...AND the only one in R/S/E version, is on the sunken ship place)

Actually, in HG/SS, if you get first prize at the radio station lottery, they give you a master ball, and it will only happen once. That makes a total of two that you will ever obtain in game, one the easy way, and the other by pure luck.

I know in black and white you can get 2 or 3. don't remember how though...

I got a second Master ball in my platinum version. I was visiting the store dept in Jubilife daily for lottery as I had a lot of pokemon with different IDs from Emerald which I restarted over and over again. So it was like everyday 1 rare candy and the occasional exp. share and once a while a Master ball.

To me Master Balls should not even exist.

For one,you probably are not going to waste it on a normal overworld pokémon.
You will waste it either in a shiny or in a legendary. And in my opinion this ruins the game.

Heck,i think catching a legendary should be mighty harder.
Take Giratina for example,it managed to start distorting the entire Sinnoh and possibly the entire pokeworld, mentioned my Cinthya ingame i think.

Another great example is Rayquaza,i remember seeing that Rayquaza vs Deoxys movies on youtube, came the game, came the time to catch Rayquaza,i was waiting the thing to be a totally overpowered beam shooting creature. And in  about 30 normal pokéballs,Rayquaza's glory was no more.

Sure chatching a legend can me plausible if your a top trainer, but having a pokéball, that can imprision ANY(aside from other trainers and some jazz like that) pokémon...

Arceus is supposedly the god of the pokémon world...ohh how fun.master ball.the god is mine nao.

ah okay, However I never finished it, I was to weak for the pokemon leauge  so I started over, after sending my pokemon too White

so I have no idea

I usual use my master ball for legend but, easier. (I guess) like my Lugia, and on Diamond my Dialga

I like the premier ball. I also like the design of the dark ball from the fourth pokemon movie, but I wish it wasn't so evil. I also agree with the fact that some legendaries are too easy to catch. I caught Kyurem with less than 10 pokebalss.

I think it feels more disappointing to catch a LE, like Kyurem, with a Quick Ball.

It's like saying "Screw you, I'ma ninja!"

i like the ultra ball because it reminds me of Bass and the great ball because it reminds me of Megaman X i saw someone said the cherish ball reminds them of Zero but ive never seen the cherish ball.

I agree the Luxury ball not only looks good but is a close designe to the Master ball as it captures pokemon!

He probably means the capture specialeffects seems similar to the capture animation of the masterball.
Also, the capture rate of a luxury ball is equal to that of a pokéball while a masterball will never fail it's job, unless it's eaten by the pokémon.
Title: Re: Favorite Pokeball Type
Post by: silverdragon016 on June 27, 2012, 11:05:59 AM
Exactly but the Luxury ball has a higher capture rate than a poke ball or great ball wich is why i said its close to being like a master ball.
Title: Re: Favorite Pokeball Type
Post by: Yume Tsuki on June 27, 2012, 11:33:42 AM
No it's not, it's capture rate is 1x, which is equal to the pokéball I've looked it up on bulbapedia.
Greatball has a capture rate of 1.5x
Ultraball 2x
Masterball 255x

if you want the information on each pokéball's effect it can be found here:

I didnt even factor in the Ultraball i should do better research on there capture rate! but it still looks good either way.
