So basically there is going to be a category 2-3 hurricane in the east coast. This is crazy, it's supposed to happen anywhere the 27th - 29th. So yea if you live near DC, MD, VA, NY then you're out of luck so that means i'm out of luck. Hopefully it doesn't pass category 3 that would just be too much. I'm not trying to scare anyone just trying to inform then.

Here are category details

Hope everyone is okay after it happens

Just found out my county should be safe from the storm

What county do you live in?
Down south in St. Mary's everybody is freaking out. All the grocery stores are packed and almost empty. There will probably be a day or two of power outage, but nothing too serious.

Montgomery, we should only get some showers but nothing severe.

Look at the southern-most point of Maryland, that's about where I am.
Right now it is pretty windy and it's raining a bit. Nothing compared to what's supposed to be coming later today.

I heard that Irene regressed into a tropical storm. It won't be much of a threat after all, so it seems.
Unless the same thing that occured some time ago here happens there :P
A storm weakened, then got stronger at sea, before coming back stronger than ever XD

And I just got a report from CNN:
The evacuation order for low-lying parts of New York City will be lifted at 3 p.m. ET Sunday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. The order had been put in place as the city braced for the worst from this weekend's storm system.
As it turned out, Irene's impact with North Carolina weakened the storm. "It never got its eye back. It never got its mojo back," CNN meteorologist Chad Myers said.
In other Irene-related developments:
--At least 15 people have died so far across six states
--The storm is heading northeast toward New England with 60-mph winds
--"Do not leave your homes. ... It is still not safe," New Jersey's governor says, as much of his state is flooded
--Flooding in New York City threatens its electrical infrastructure, which is below ground

That's very similar to my damage report.
We lost power for about 20 hours, though.
It was a tough one, I can't believe we all made it through okay.

Same here, FrenchFry.
I slept through it and all that happened around here was a downed phone line, poop tons of leaves everywhere, and some electronics issues.
