One thing I've noticed lately is a lot of people have to rely on walkthroughs to figure out parts of their games. To help with that, I will help any users with help they need in their games. Instead of looking through long videos, or scrolling down long websites, just post in this topic any questions you have about your game. Also, if a person who posts before you has a question you can answer, or you have a better answer than I do, quote it, and post the answer. You can ask just about any question about any pokemon game. I've had almost all of them!
Ask Away!
Ask Away!
UPDATE
From now on, I will post answers to questions I have gotten here, so you don't have to look through lots of posts to see if your question was asked. I will also add the current topic too, so you can help answer questions. Also, something I forgot to mention was please don't bring up old topics. Once I give my final answer, it's done, and we are moving on. Also, no SPAQing (Stupid Pointless Annoying Questions). Now you know the rules, so please follow them.
Solved questions
Despite rumors, there is nothing behind the locked door on Seventh Island.
After you get the highest rank on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon:Blue Rescue Team, you get congratulated (only).
You can get a legit Jirachi at gamestop on 2/27. You cannot get one by going into space. There is no way to get into space.
The sick girl (R/S/E) only changes wallpaper.
In pokemon G/S/C, get the watering pail in a house near the gym.
I don't know anything about Heart Gold & Soul Silver besides basic stuff.
To get a Pikachu holding a light ball, have a FAINTED pokemon with the static ability in the first slot of your party. In the second slot, have a pokemon that has the frisk ability. If you don't want the Pikachu, make the second pokemon learn Thief.
In R/B/Y, Dratini nor Dragonair will evolve into Yoshi. (No-duh!)

Red
Blue
Yellow
Gold
Silver
Fire Red
Leaf Green
Ruby
Sapphire
Emerald
Diamond
Pearl
Platinum
HeartGold-Basic info
SoulSilver-Basic info

Ask me anything you like about those games. I'll try to check back here daily.
-
There's one thing, in Leaf Green, on the seventh island, there is a house, with an old lady inside and a blocked back door. When I talk, it says there is a breeze blowing from behind, or something similar.
I have always wondered what was behind it.
I found so many different answers that I don't know which to believe.
Some say that there is Giovanni behind, he says he will be kinder now, that he realised his mistakes etc and wants a last battle.
Others say there is a legendary pokemon behind
and other things.
What is really behind it?
-
The answer is...despite rumors, there is nothing behind the door. Giovanni never becomes good (plus why would you let a pokemon thief into your house?), and there are no legendary pokemon behind it, because every other one has sensible means for catching them. Mewtwo, Celebi, Regi's, Zapdos, Moltres, Arcticuno, all of them.
-
in blue rescur team what happens when you become the final rank
i know whaat happens in time, darkness, sky
-
I'm not quite sure, but I imagine it's similar to explorers of time/darkness/sky.
Or you are congratulated, given a new area to explore, and there is a legendary there.
If anyone knows the answer, quote the question, and tell us!
-

The final rank is the Lucario Rank and you are rewarded by having the Lucario Statue near your house.
I don't remember though if any more dungeon is added.
Thanks Darkmage. I tried using a gameshark on my emulator on PC to 'pass through walls' but in vain. The only place that I was still wondering how to get behind. But then, is there anyway to get behind there? I mean, to confirm that there's nothing?
I never knew how to get a legit Jirachi (I guess it must be an event). Some friends said that you go into the space shuttle in Mossdeep City in RSE and get in space to get it. I find that hard to believe...
-
Well don't try it, because thats not true. You can get a Jirachi when you get the Jirachi movie and get it through mystery gift off the DVD. You have to put it in your computer though.
And by get behind 'there', what do you mean? You mean behind the door?
-
but when you have played the game for 75 hrs. you can go and fight jirachi in space 100 hrs. equel deoxys
-
Sorry, chaos control, but unless you can show me video proof of that happening, I can't believe you. Plus, I heard it was 50 for Jirachi!
FINAL ANSWER: There is no way to get Jirachi by the space station shuttle lanches.
Next Question!
-
you could get a legit jirachi by pre-ordering pokemon colosseum.
-
Yes, but that was a while ago. We're talking about things we can do now to get one. I got one over GTS actually, so that's one way.
-
Well keep that hard to believe, because thats not true. You can get a Jirachi when you get the Jirachi movie and get it through mystery gift off the DVD. You have to put it in your computer though.
And by get behind 'there', what do you mean?
Sorry, I thought it was obvious. By 'there', I meant the 'room' behind the cardboard.
-
around the end of february, you will be able to get a legit jirachi from gamestop stores.
-
Yeah, I heard about that today. If you want a legit Jirachi, got to gamestop between the 14-27 of february, i think.
-
what website was it from because ive always wanted a jirachi its the only rare ive never had.
-
The problem is that I'm not anywhere in America or Europe... I'm in Mauritius, a mere developing island, with a toys R us that got crashed down because of low profit (people go there only during Christmas holidays). I hear one is being built again, but I don't think that they'll have those facilities as to give pokemon during mystery events.
Also, from RSE, in the town of the first Gym leader Roxanne (I forgot the name of that town), there is a building with a little girl in bed and her father asking you for something to make her laugh. Is there anything that you can say that will actually make her laugh?
-

I've actually never heard of that. I imagine there is something you can do, but i'm not sure. You might have to bring her a certain pokemon.
-
I'll try take pictures... you'll have to be a little patient though...
Update;
Ok, here's the screenshot.

Well he says "Do you know a better word of phrase that might work?" Emphasis on PHRASE. I'm not sure if this will work, but do you remember that guy in the pokemon center that would tell you a trendy saying? Try that. I know he's in the town with the electric type gym leader, I think his name was Wattson.
-
wattson is in mauville city!
-
All right, so if you want to try to get the girl to laugh, try the trendy saying the guy in the pokemon center says.
-
I don't think so. The trendy saying (in Dewford Town) was more to add to your in game vocabulary (and I think it's also linked to Feebas...?) so that you can use them for example at the berry master's house with his wife, to get the rare berries. I guess it's more like something to teach you that pokemon have their own personalities just like people.
-
Well then Jerry, I'm not sure what to do. If I ever figure it out, I'll send you a private message.
-
The little girl.... It's not an actual word, it changes your wallpaper depending on your trainer ID and the letters you type.

You get from the secret house in the safari zone.
-
Just got pokemon on my iPhone and I have pokemon crystal [hax hax hax hax] I need to find a pail of water to make the sudowoodo move so I can get farther in the game but I cant find it.

where did you guys find out about the "jirachi event" cause i need details
thsnks ChaosControl
-
Remember, from now on, don't bring up old topics. This one doesn't count because it wasn't finished.
The Jirachi event is available at all gamestops in the U.S. It starts on the 27th, but I don't know the end date.
Just got pokemon on my iPhone and I have pokemon crystal [hax hax hax hax] I need to find a pail of water to make the sudowoodo move so I can get farther in the game but I cant find it.
There is a house next to the goldenrod gym-or near it-and someone will give you a watering pail.

Ok, so it has been over 24 hours since the last post, so double-posting is not a problem.
Lately, I've gotten a LOT of projects from school (and of course no one cares about my personal life), so I'm not able to check back as often. PLEASE!!! If you can answer a question, please do so, as I am really busy and don't know when I will get a break. Thanks to Boyben10 for doing that, and I hope everyone else will do it too.
EDIT:I'm sure other people have also done this, it's just that Boyben10 was the first one I saw before posting this.

How can I get daisy (blue's sister) to give my pokemon a massage on Soulsilver? I've already beat all the gym leaders, but every time I talk to her, nothing happens.
-
I don't know anything about Soul Silver (I don't have it yet) so I don't know.
-
WHAT ABOUT THIS THEN.
ok the quotes dont go down that far but you said "info about all games" and then contined to name them all.
-
I never said I knew EVERYTHING about pokemon. It means I know at least something about each game.

Thanks Alais! :D
Concerning the Squirt bottle (the spray) you get it in the house to the north east of the Golden Rod city Gym. You must have the badge first to be able to get the Squirt bottle. The lady giving it to you has a green dress if I remember well...
-
Alright, so I actually have a question for everyone following this forum page.
Does anyone have a good strategy for getting a light ball?
-
get a kecleon, have it learn theif, head to the trophy garden, and the use theif on every pikachu until you get a light ball.
-
Or get a Skitty (check everyday for Skitty outbreaks on TV), Munchlax (that's rarer on Honey trees) and have them learn covet. Put a pokemon with static (Pichu, Pikachu, Voltorb, etc) in front of your team so that you'll see Pikachus more often, then as soon as you see one, swap to the 'coveter' and with some luck, you'll have one light ball.
-
I've gon an idea.
I keep a FAINTED pokemon with static ability in the front of the party. Then, I put a Bannette that knows thief and has frisk ability in 2nd. That will increase the chances of finding a pikachu, along with being able to see the item it's holding. Then, I just steal it.
-
Yes, that'll work too! :)
I was using the Pokeradar when I got my lightball, I was just randomly catching all Pikachus I could, releasing them afterwards just for some fun. I checked their IV before releasing them, of course!
-
I normally don't really post in this forum, but I was scanning this post and I see alot of slow-chat messages. Please refrain from posting such messages. Thanks.
-
Slow-chat? What do you mean by that?
-
Slow-chat? What do you mean by that?
As in posting something that really does not add anything to the conversation, or just talking about random crap thats of topic.
Stop trying to build your post count people, its Quality > quantity
-
To tell you the truth, I'm not trying to build my post count. I don't really care what number it's at. Forums don't have a limited amount of space. Plus this topic doesn't have a LOT of those. Most of them are people complaining how I don't know EVERY LITTLE DETAIL about pokemon. ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE SAID THAT BEFORE!!
-
In a nintendo power magazine long long long long loooooooooooooooooong ago I remember it saying you could evolve your Dratani or Dragonair into a chansey yoshi.
I believe this was in R/B/Y versions.
So is this as fake as the Mew behind the bus or what?
-
I've never heard of that before. It does sound fake. I don't think Nintendo would have made a pokemon that evolves into a mario character though.
Edit:Ok, I have looked it up. Put simply, some places say it's real, and some don't. I think it is fake because what buisness would a Mario character have to do with pokemon (Besides beating the Sh!t out of eachother in Super Smash Bros.)?
Ok, so we're going to go back briefly, because some questions weren't answered completely.
The Jirachi event is at all Gamestops in the U.S. beween 2/27-3/13 so one day before the release of HG&SS.
And...
(Continued on next post)
-

Sorry, I thought it was obvious. By 'there', I meant the 'room' behind the cardboard.
Ok, so there is no way to even get back there. I think nintendo had made that, because they planned on using it for a mystery gift. They either forgot about it, or didn't think of anything to put in there.
By the way, I had to double post due to the post being so far back at the begining of the topic.
-
Oh, I forgot that a similar house is present in Emerald, in Mossdeep town. This time the 'entrance' is blocked by three potted small trees ::)
-
I imagine it's the same thing. They had an event planned, and forgot/didn't get around to it.
I'm soon going to know a whole ton more about HeartGold and SoulSilver. The release is only two weeks away, and I'm getting both!
-

Really? I'm getting both (in English) too, even though I already have a Japanese SoulSilver game.
-
Do you understand anything the characters are saying?
-
Understand: Kinda...
Know: Absolutely not,
But the game is still really fun.
-
I already finished the game, beated the final trainer (Red) that is. I caught Groudon, then never played it since. I don't have much time, and I still get a preference of Platinum over SS. I'm trying to build a team with trained EVs...
Any questions from HGSS? I'll give my best to answer them! :)
-
Is it easier to aquire BP at the frontier? ::)
-
Nope, it's the same system to win BP. :)
-
Whats your preferred method of training pokemon on HG/SS?
-
Just take the six pokemon that I will carry up to the league and train them with the NPCs. I don't skip any.
At the league, they are within the 40-50 levels. The use of revives and hyper potions becomes very handy and allows me to go rapidly. Then, I go through the league a couple more times to get in the lv 45-55 then I go to the SS.Anne to the Kanto region. The gym leaders then are quite easy, and I follow the same training. All NPCs, no wild battles, with the six pokemon.
After that, the league again to train up to 65-70, then wet to Red and beat him despite the 10-20 levels difference.
-
Wow, it's been a while since i've last posted in this topic. Well, it's the normal thing. If you have a question about a pokemon game, you can post it here. If I don't know it and can't find it, some of the other members can contribute as well.

How does trading with friends work along Wi Fi?
This is my case:
I want a trade over WiFi.
Friend is not sure to be online at the time of the trade.
Can I deposit my pokemon somewhere (where exactly? On the underground floor of the pokecentre? or GTS?) where only this friend can have access to? It would be good if someone else got the pokemon instead.
-
No, that's currently not possible to do. The best you could manage would be to put it up for trade on the GTS, with the exact Pokemon your friend is trading, and hope he manages to get to it before someoone else.
Otherwise, you will have to be on at the same time. I suppose a second option is a mediator. Give it to a third person and have him switch them for you. Though, it would have to be someone you trust. I wouldn't recommend it.
-
Oh, okay. I'd like to clear some things up.
How the GTS works exactly.
- Trainer1 searches for example : Rattata.
- List of Rattata appears. XX Trainer2 is giving a Pidgey for a Rattata
- Accepts. So, Trainer1 accepts, and gives Rattata to receive Pidgey from Trainer2.
Is this the way it works?
-
Basically, yes, but in Detail you Must go, young Padawan. (actually you are older.)
-
Ok, I must get things settled right then... I hope it'll work, losing a red Gyarados like that to the public...
-
If you want, you can have mine. I never use her. Let me know if you're interested.
-
It's in fact the other way round... I'm giving the red Gyarados to someone :)
-
Cant you trade pokemon with your friends in the wifi club?
-
Well, you can, if you have access to wi-fi and if you can find a time that both you and your trade partner can trade in if your trading with someone in specific.
-
Reviving old topics...Something I do on a daily basis. =P
I'm reviving this topic because I still think it's useful. Again, Post any questions you have in this forum page, but read the first post to see if they were answered already.
-
in pokemon emerald, how to get to the leader of 4th gym(fire)?
-
Try out each and every hole which warps you to another floor?
One thing to note is that one hole leads you to another hole at the same position but at a different height than you initiall was.
-
From the entrance, goto the left, but don't take the first hole, go further up and go down that hole. When you go down the hallway it takes you too, there will be 2 paths you can go down. You're supposed to go down the one to the left, however, there are 2 holes with a 1 block space in between them. Both of these are trainers, so you'll get into a double battle. Anyway, after battling them one on one or two on one, go through the hole right behind the 2 trainers, the one on the straight path that goes between the two trainers. You'll come to a room with 5 holes (not including the one you came out of). 3 are trainers, one is a wrong path, and the one at the top left is the correct path. You'll now be in a room with 3 holes (again, not including the one you just went through). Go through the one in the top left of the room. You'll be dropped into a room with 2 other holes. Take the hole that is just to your right. In this room, take the hole to the lower right. In this room that you get dropped into, go down until you hit the first ledge. Jump down it, and go into the hole. DO NOT go down the second ledge or you'll have to restart. Once you go into that last hole, you should be in Flannery's room.
Just so you know, these are the instructions for avoiding trainers. If you want to fight all of the trainers, just stand in front of different holes to see if a trainer is there.
And thus ends my long-winded description of how to get to Flannery. I hope this helped you and didn't get you lost!
-
(This is a hard one....)
Is it possible to clear a Pokemon game (100% not including items or Dex)?
With these restrictions:
-No Items (Includes everything but Stat items and TMs)
-Must fight every trainer
-Only allowed your starting pokemon (Excluding HM slaves, but they arent allowed to level.)
Is it possible?
(I tried it on Leafgreen, and got to the league, but havent deemed it impossible yet.)
-
Well...usually, no. Because if you're only using your starter as your only pokemon, you've kind of already screwed yourself. You hit the gyms with your starter's weakness pretty early. I think it isn't, but feel free to prove me wrong.
-
I don't think it's impossible, since completing 100% requires you beat the league only in LeafGreen/FireRed and the other two being related to the pokedex.
Otherwise, for DPPt, or RSE requires battle tower, contests and HGSS requires pokethlon. Unless your HM slaves are entitled to participate there...
-
Yeah, Jerry's probably right. So it would be like a yes on the earlier games, no on anything past Ruby and Sapphire (not including FireRed and LeafGreen).
