Ok, I've been wondering for some time now whether or not Happiness evolution will be in the game, like it is in the past pokemon games. Since in was first introduced in the GSC series some pokemon evolve through happiness, as do some moves depend on happiness (return, frustration).
The pokemon involved:
Golbat > Crobat
Chansey > Blissey
Eevee > Espeon/Umbreon
Pichu > Pikachu
Cleffa > Clefairy
Igglybuff > Jigglypuff
Togepi > Togetic
Azurill > Marill
Budew > Roselia
Buneary > Lopunny
Chingling > Chimecho
Munchlax > Snorlax
Riolu > Lucario
My guess is 'you'll be implementing it' but you can also be planning something new...
How about it?

That's what I wonderd to! Maybe they'll just set a level, maybe there will be happiness (wich allso efects moves Return and Frustation). But there won't be poffins, so it would probably be increasseed by footsteps.

Yes, happiness is included, so are happiness evolutions.
-
I'm really happy happyness is included! (I love it when pokemon like me a lot!) :D
-
I suggest that the happiness meter be broadened a bit. I always found it too easy to get pokemon to like me, it should either be a lot harder to level your happiness, or (my preferred option) increase the levels of happiness.
In other words, instead of just having pokemon have something like: Really hate, hate, neutral, like, love
add in a few more degrees into the mix (this is an MMO after all, and will be a huge game). This would also mean happiness evolution pokemon will not evolve so easily

Yes spirit, I agree with this. I'm still working on the happiness formula and stuff.

I don't remember quite well, but I think that there are '255 points' for happiness. I need to check where I saw that. And caught pokemon usually start with a certain value for happiness, except some, which start at 140 instead (like Happiny).
Ok, I did some research and came with that: http://www.psypokes.com/lab/happiness.php
That's a well detailed page on happiness :) (And the happiness at which pokemon are caught with)

Thank for the link Jerry, they had some info I didn't had. When I'm going to work on happiness I'll be sure to think of something nice which will fit our MMO.

All you have to do to get max happiness is walk enough steps. I made a bot goes up and down the cycle road until you tell it to stop, and it took about 20 mins for max happiness. Way too easy :P

That was too slow for me for me when it came to happiness evolution. Gave them vitamins, used soothe bell, train them. Within some minutes, yay! Evolution!
You're welcome Mr_Dark. :)

That's why I'll change some things because we don't want people botting.

I remember I made me Togepi's happiness go up in crystal by giving it hair cuts in some underground tunnel erea. I really can't remember the name or area.
But yeah, basically you could give 1 pokemon a haircut a day and it'd bring its happiness.
and as for Umbreon and Espion, i thought they evolved depending at what time you trained them ?
Like if you wanted an Umbreon you'd have to train them during the night, and for Espion it was during the day.

Actually, I think it was more like a 'manicure' of the pokemon, or better like clean your pokemon for you but the word got lost during translation. In the later versions, it was called massage.

Partly, happiness above 220 points first, then they'll evolve. If they evolve during the day, Espeon you get, and night, Umbreon you get.

Im getting a happy feeling that can only be described as happiness, about the fact that your happy about how happy you can make your pokemon by increasing their happiness and that also makes trainers happier
YAY
