Title: Legendaries for a short time
Post by: Safur on June 15, 2011, 04:02:41 PM
I thought it would be fun if let's say the top 1000 trainers can join a tournament and the first 128 or so would get in the tournement and the winner of the tournament can chose one legendary pokemon that's 'his' or 'hers' untill the next tournement. And let's say if you win one tournement you are not allowed to join the next 3.

Legendaries are... well, Legendary.
They do not belong in human hands.

However, they coexist.

You can battle them, and in some cases, work with them.

Other than that, There is no Human-Legendary Contact.

But there is never more then 1 legendary that belongs to 1 trainer of thousands of the PU players.
I would call that legendary, you don't?

@ Black: There is still a difference between 1 legendary in thousands of players and 1 legendary a person, don't you think?

In short, no.
The only time you will be able to battle with legendaries will probably be during quests, sorry.

Legendaries are "legendary" in a sense, because of them being rarely sighted and are not tamed. A "legendary" that gets caught would be considered legendary no more: it would become a "rare" Pokémon. Although they might still be classified as top-notch because of their power, they would lose their purpose. Hence, I believe it is one of the best decisions to not allow legendaries to be caught.

Making legendaries catch-able would also cause the question of what the other Pokémon are for. Most (if not all) would just aim for having a team of legendaries and be content with what they have.

                                                                                                                 Cheers, Genbor

Ok, you may be right with the second part, it was just an idea of keeping them rare and an extra motivation, but we don't have to.

Legendary means there are legends written about it, it's not like those legends will disappear because the legendary is caught.

Think about this with your theory Regice, Regirock and Registeel aren't legendary since the master of the hoenn battle frontier has caught them. Lugia neither since a little boy had one in a hoenn episode. So that theory doesn't work.

So many times....

We have had this discussion so many times.....

The answer is still NO.

I'll quote some wise-words:
Legendaries are... well, Legendary.
They do not belong in human hands.

However, they coexist.

You can battle them, and in some cases, work with them.

Other than that, There is no Human-Legendary Contact.
