Title: Potential Pokemon Ruby Sapphire Remake on 3DS
Post by: Tickles on November 21, 2011, 03:11:49 AM
So, I was trying to troll meowth today by telling him that Ruby and Sapphire is going to be remade on 3DS. HE looked for it, and found this on the legit website, that Gamefreak is considering it.

http://mynintendonews.com/2011/10/12/nintendo-3ds-gamefreak-considering-pokemon-ruby-and-sapphire-remakes-for-nintendo-3ds/

Now, this doesn't mean it is coming out, just has a very good chance. So, knowing that these guys are going to put features into the game, while not really changing game play, what do you think they would have implemented on these remakes using the No Glasses 3D technology? Keep in mind, that in the past few releases have been in pairs instead of three, so, no Emerald. But post what you think would be a ground breaking feature in the game.

I for one believe you can look around in any direction, using the 3DS's internal Gyroscope to use the device itself as a way to move the camera, may call for finding special areas.

*Note, please excuse the last title if you saw it, my keyboard is being really buggy.

A remake would be cool but, the 3DS is a joke.  I mean really?  A 3D handheld?  I don't even like the 3D tv's.

I guess this stems from the fact that I picked up a DS when black/white came out.  And then bam!  New chansey system...  It's just frustrating.  I hope they make it playable on a regular DS.

Um, no it isn't a joke, also I find it funny that he was trying to troll me and I found evade nice that it might be true.

I meant the 3DS as a system is a joke, a gimmick.  As in I don't really get the whole 3D craze.  It's kind of pointless.

I'm just annoyed that I picked up a DS for black/white and then a few weeks later the 3DS was released.  I really didn't know about it til after it came out.

I agree with Bing.

Our technology just isn't good enough for 3D right now. It sucks ass IMO. I hate it when I have been waiting for a movie for months/years and then when it finally comes to theaters....it's in that crappy ass 3D.

That being said...I do own a 3DS. Only because gamestop had a good deal. I traded in my DS Lite and got 80 bucks off my 3DS which made it only 100.

I have a 3ds so no problem here, as well as the 3DS wasn't selling well so they dramatically dropped the prize for the console.

If they really come with 3d Pokémon games I would say they keep the features from black & white, especially the battle system. In which they can add more dramatic effects (like they zoom in and out now...) by letting pokémons come even closer to the screen.

Don't know what they will do with the contests... Would be awesome if they were there. And I guess they just add all features emerald had.

Just letting everyone know, this tweet from Taijiri was mistranslated. He didn't actually say he was concidering making a remake for R/S/E. He was responding to a massive amount of re-tweets in nice way. He pretty much stated that he understands that more than half of the world wants a R/S/E remake but was only thanking us pokemon fans for the positive tweets.

I still am hoping that a remake will happen but this tweet doesn't really give us any reason that it will happen in the near future. GameFreak is planning to give a suprise announcement in December though...that actually might give us more hope.

You know what would be funny, if they announce that they will no longer be making any more Pokemon games, and start a new concept. I would be both sad and excited at the same time.

Id be frustrated and annoyed.

Gen 5 is no proper away of finishing a series.
I mean, ofcourse it must come to an end. But,not so soon,if they have ran out of ideas...they have half manking having ideas for them.Ideas they never touch...

Same, though I'm not really enthusiastic for a 6th Gen.
Rather, they could fill up 649-700 with fan-made based Pokes that actually look cool.
Or maybe make a contest where people can send in ideas/art of their own pokes and they choose the "coolest" submissions to fill up the space. At least that would give a round number.
+ They need to make a game where all Pokes are catchable without needing codes, trades, events, etc... I could really need that :)
(Yeah, I'm not the guy that have much friends playing Pokemon and those I do have are usually are hard on the trading part... And I don't have time traveling through half of Europe to get a Mew.

The reason they have it to where you can only catch certain pokemon in a game is for marketing reasons. You see a NPC using a pokemon you want, then you see that the are is unknown. It forces you to either buy the other copy, or find a friend who has bought the other copy. And easy Marketing trick, here are the features, oh but the rest are on the other one. And event pokemon are tricky to get, yes, but I feel as though that makes it easier to find others who play the game. That's why they have friends codes.

Honestly I think they might make a remake of emrald for the next game, think about it. Pokemon fire red and leaf green are pretty much remakes of they're own because they are improved versions of pokemon red/green/blue for the GBA, Pokemon gold/silver/crystal was remade into heartgold and soul silver for the DS/DSi, so it would only make sence if they would ever make a remake of Emerald it would be for the 3DS. But that's only IF they remake it, Nintendo is prettymuch unpredictable. They mgiht just remake everything except the 5th gen before they even think about 6th gen, we'll have to wait and see.

Most of Taijiri's tweets seem to sound like they don't want to make remakes or even a thrid version for B/W and just move on to gen 6. Taijiri almost flat out said he wasn't remaking B/W but then said that he might reconisder it.

Im sry but b/w was the worst games ever made... 3ds is my favorite sytem(x-box 360 2nd) to whoever said it was a joke. I dont see y they would remake ruby and so on they remade the rest and emerald was one of their greatest games.

I think you don't get it. Usually when a remake comes they merge the features from the newest version with the old version. Like in HG/SS they merged crystal with gold and silver.
So they would probably make Ruby & Sapphire remake both merged with emerald. If they didn't I see no reason to buy the new ruby/sapphire remake because after you've beaten the elite four there was nothing to do in R/S while in emerald there was still the battle frontier.

if a remake was made, then it would allow pokefans to play "classics" that are darn near unobtainable currently. especially if they didn't have the Chance. the only thing I don't like about the 3DS is that it doesn't have a GBA Slot (I have a DS Lite). If they Don't, that's their choice. But nintendo is less likely able to make another Series. if they do, it'l have to be after the 6/7th Gen. Ruby/Saphire Remakes would be a great deal to the world.

That is all.

I dont see why they wouldnt remake emerald instead of R/S. I own emerald, sapphire, and have passed ruby, and by far, emerald owns. There's a lot more extra features like fighting both team aqua and magma, the weird cut-seen with rayquaza in Sootopolis city, double battling with Steven, and a lot more. Wouldnt R/S be sort of like XD: Gale of Darkness, except a little less quality since its on a handheld? I dont really think it'd work out too great.

I'm not that big a fan of the 3Ds to be honest. Im more of a DSi person, but iim fine with how the pokemon games are like D/P/Pt or B/W. To me, 3Ds seems like one of those things that someone's all into it for like 2 weeks, but afterward, unless they get a new game, they just see it as as one of those "eh..." sort of things.

Although I'm not too optimistic about the chances of a Ruby remake, Seeing that seen where Groudon and Kyogre are fighting (in Emerald) would be about the coolest thing ever.
HOLY SWEET JESUS THAT WOULD BE AMAZING

You can get both Kyogre and Groudon after you wake Rayquaza you know... I got all 3 on my last save.
If you don't know how, you first have to do the League, then you go to the Weather Center on the top floor. The prof that gave you Castform earlier will report either a Drought or Heavy Rainfall in some route. You just have to fly to the route and find the entrace to Terra/Aqua Cave :) Remember to save before starting the fight
