In another world, a competition of epic proportions takes place. Humans have discovered a way to transport their minds across dimensions, becoming another being, and battle against others in order to prove their worth. Many have gained fame and glory over the years, but one thing remains the same. There can be only one that can be called a true champion. Once a year, a grand tournament takes place in the fighter capitol of the world, Vangrant city. The invitations have been sent, and fighters from all over are flocking in hopes to be named the new champion. However, with all good things, evil waits around the corner.

RP has started
One year earlier
The arena is filled with the sounds of cheers and chanting. Two people stand on the main stage.
Ladies and gentleman. We are in the final match of the tournament. We have seen many battles these past few days, all great individuals who gave it their all. Alas, we can have only one champion.
In the blue corner, the challenger, Mark the Radical!
A surfer looking guy waves to the crowd, and the whole stadium is engulfed in the sound of cheers. An obvious crowd pleaser, Mark just smiles, and focuses on his opponent.
In the red corner, our current champion who is determined to get his fifth win. Stan Masters!
Stan gives a small wave, getting the same result that Mark got.
Fighters, approach the center seal.
The two step outside a circle that starts to randomly change symbols, until one is chosen. An orb pops up from the seal, and turns green, indicating tht it is ready for synch.
Looks like it's the Low-Grav zone! Fighters, synch when ready.
Good luck Mark. May we have battle to be remembered.
Don't need luck, you're going down.
The fighters activate their marks, and synch with the orb. When both fighters emerge from the transport, they are their astral beings, and are dropped right into the crater. The orb back on earth turns blue, so no one can interfere with the match. Stan is now Ripfang, and across from him is Mark's being, Avatar Aang.
Prepare yourself.
The two rush at eachother, Aang launching a couple fireballs at Ripfang, but Ripfang dodges them too easily while launching a couple Howl cannons, blocked by Aang's earth shield.
Aarf!
You'll need to do better than that. Avatar state!
Without a second thought, Aanf unleashes his Super Move, lunching a four element attack. Ripfang jumps high, taking advantage of the low gravity, and is out of harms way. Aang falls out of his state, and is stalled. Ripfang sees his chance, and dives towards his opponent. With a dark aura surrounding him, he unleashes his Super Move, the Howling Buster.
AAAAAAAAAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The blast comes out and sends Ripfang flying in the opposite direction. Aang recovers, but sees no way to dodge, and puts up an earth shield. The buster pierces the cover hitting Aang directly, causing him to de-synch. Mark falls to his knees on earth.
Wow, that was a heavy hit.
Stan comes out of his synch, and the orb disappears.
We have a winner! Stan Masters has obtained his fifth championship!
Present day
There is breaking news all over the TV's across town. The tourney is three days away.
We're coming at you live from the Golden Hotel, where world champ Stan Masters has just checked in. When prompted for an interview, he kindly refused and went inside. With the tourney three days away, one question remains, will the champ prove himself once more, or will we see the fall of a great warrior?
-
Brendan watched the TV as the reporter stated the champion's arrival for the tournament. He was alone in his hotel room, as his father had just left to go sightseeing. He stood up, and headed for the door. He was hoping to see the champion at some point, but knew there wasn't any chance of that without being caught on camera. His nervousness took over, and he sat back down. There was always the chance he would see the champion in the tourney. As unlikely as it was, he kept telling himself that. Brendan stayed at his hotel room, watching the reporter spew trivial facts about Stan Masters.
-
Garlock stared at the prints, set deep into the ground by the heavy creature. He was home, or as close as he was going to get. A large plain surrounded him, tree scattering around in the distance. with lumbering steps the bull like creature stepped forward, the ground trembling slightly with his step. He was training, preparing for the tournament. With the totem pole and ax holstered across his back, he slid into the foliage. He was quiet, a skilled well needed when you hunted to live, like Garlock had on the plains.
Garlock see puny bear.
And he did, through the foliage a large, bear like creature was visible. Garlock itched to draw his totem, so draw it he did.
Garlock crush!
Holding the totem by the mid section, he ran with lumbering steps toward his enemy. The creature turned, his eyes widening in shock as the totem collided heavily with his stomach. The bearish creature slammed into a tree, just in time for a cry of
GROUND RIPPER!
The very earth itself seemed to split at the seams as Garlock's ax hit it. The bearish creature could only watch in fear as the attack split the ground below him, dropping the astral onto the many rocks lying beneath the surface. The ax in Garlock's hand dissolved, but the battled was over as they unsynched.
Nice match, Daylin.
Daylin just grunted, the mark of the Tauren, a totem with an eagle on it, itched slightly. He scratched the mark, located on his leg, and walked out of the place. Daylin placed the key into the lock on his door, and walked in. he flopped on the couch, and turned on the TV.

Daylin chuckled, hopefully he would beat him........
-
Jack was on his way home after coming from the store, where he hadn't even bought anything. He had decided to pass through the city, as it was the fastest way to his house. That turned out to be a terrible decision as the street was crowded with people, especially in front of the Golden Hotel.
I wonder what's going on? Jack thought. He pushed and shoved his way past the crowd anyway, instead of opting to just pick another route. He passed by another large crowd, who were all staring up to the large TV on the side of a tall building. He looked up at the TV too, curious at what everyone was so eagerly watching.

So that's what was going on at the hotel. Beating that guy would be tough, as he won the year Jack beat his-
Jack slammed his eyes shut, trying to erase the memory from the front of his mind. He was going to beat Stan Masters and win the tournament this year, no matter what.
-
Thwak!
A sticky ball perfectly thrown lands on the forehead of the reporter on the T.V. A victorious yell goes up as Leo celebrates.
"Wooo! Ten points!"He's jumping on the bed of the hotel room when he hears that the current champion has arrived.
"Hmm...wonder if I can catch him before he gets to his room..."
Ultimately Leo decides against it, he's got better things to do. He pulls out a notebook from it's position in his jacket. Fourty-one wins, fifteen losses this year so far. He scribbles some notes in the book, thinks for a moment then returns the note book to his jacket. He then leaves his room to find a bite to eat, and hopefully run into the champion.
-
Daylin sighed, being an eight foot tall bull really worked up an appetite. he tossed on the red t-shirt, which he had discarded, ruffled his hair, and walked out of his hotel room. He jogged at a brisk pace down a flight of stairs, ignoring the media, and walking into the cafeteria. As he walked in, he noticed a man, who he recognized. His name was Leo, and he had heard of him. He had quite a winning streak recently, and Daylin had made it his goal to fight him when he could.
Long time, no see, Leo.
He leaned against the counter, crossing his arms.
-
"Long time, no see, Leo."
I turned my attention from the apple pie I was eating to the new voice I heard. A taller kid with bright red hair stood next to me. I finished the good in my mouth then spoke.
"Do I know you?"
-
Daylin smirked.
Maybe.
He pulled up the hem of his pants, revealing the totem mark.
Does this look familiar?
Then he pulled it back down. He brushed a strand of blood red hair out of his eyes, the continued.
Does 'Garlock smash' and, or a giant bull sound familiar?
He leaned back against the wall, taking a slice of pepperoni pizza.
-
I thought for a moment..."Ah! I remember you now! The big ,kinda dumb, cow thing! Sorry to say, not too good with faces. It would be stupid to ask what brings you here wouldn't it?" I scoot over inviting the new guy to sit down and enjoy some food.
-
Daylin politely took a seat.
What Garlock lacks in brains, he makes up for in muscle, skill, and plain out power.
He politely smiled, no need to be rude.
How goes your training, do you need any help?
He was hoping Leo was up to a sparring match.
The name is Daylin, Daylin Hakima.
-
"Nice to meet you Daylin! I'm sure you know my name already."
I finish my pie then stand up."I'm always up for a quick sparring match. You pick the arena, meet ya there." I wave and walk towards the local sync station, all the while going over the numbers written in my notebook in my head, just a few more wins and I'll have a good standing next year.
-
mikto waas in the hotel. he managed to get his family to come here for vacation again. and he plans on joining the tournament while they're in the city.. he was flipping through the channels on Tv when..
We're coming at you live from the Golden Hotel, where world champ Stan Masters has just checked in. When prompted for an interview, he kindly refused and went inside. With the tourney three days away, one question remains, will the champ prove himself once more, or will we see the fall of a great warrior?
he shook his head.
Woopdie doo. who cares? By the time I get anywhere NEAR the top There will be a new one...
he shook his head then realized something..
I wonder if there is anyone in the hotel that would spar... most likely not, but...
He walked out the door and started walking down the hallway..
[SIINTCA :I]
-
Daylin smiled, Leo shouldn't have given him the choice. He walked over to the local synch station, and says one thing, before synching.
Might as well practice in a place we will be fighting, tilted tree tops.
He focused, and the mark, tucked beneath his pants, glowed for a moment. A blue orb appeared in front of him, as his m,ind became one with Garlock.
Garlock
He snorted, looking around quietly for a moment. He noticed the tree around him, how they grew from the wall and formed platforms. With a grunt, Garlock began to careful, and quietly, as if he was hunting, began to navigate the forest.
-
I touched the mark on my shoulder, moments later I was soaring above the trees in Krapfen's body. The first thing I noticed was the heavily wooded arena he had chosen, he chose well, restrict my ranged attacks. Sooner rather then later I thought.
Krapfen:
The ether rich world flooded Krapfen's mind. Too much ether to track a single target, meaning he's have to drive him out. Krapfen dove underneath the tree tops then began to launch randomly aimed Fire Blasts; fire drives everything from hiding...
-
Garlock
Smoke caught the powerful nose of Garlock, and he noticed a platform, old with age, on fire. He stepped onto a thick, gnarled branch, and with several steps he stood over the fire. He sniffed it, rubbing his hand through the dirt, the flying beast left no foot prints.
Garlock smash anyways.
He felt something singe his back, and grunted slightly in pain. Without turning around, Garlock began to clumsily climb a tall oak, careful to avoid fire.
-
Krapfen:
The beast emerged and began to climb nearby tree, after sidestepping some residual fire from the attack. Krapfen took careful aim as the air around him began to grow heavy with highly charged Electric Ether; moments later a powerful bolt flew from the cloud and slammed into the tree. He quickly followed it up with multiple Flare Blasts, as soon as the initial barrage was finished he charged towards the overgrown cow in the tree, Krapfen wanted a quick and decisive fight... As he grew closer to the tree he raised the sharpened spines on his arms preparing for a counter attack.
-
Garlock
something was a miss, he could feel it. As he took another step, the tree trembled, causing him to fall, but he wasn't very high up. He hit the platform below him with a thud, the barrage of fire missing him. As he looked up, he noticed the astral charging him. On battle insinct alone he bellowed out.
Garlock crush!
Taking the totem off his back, he grabbed it by the mid section, and tried to slam the on coming astral with it!
-
Krapfen:
As expected his standard battle cry tore through the air as it grabbed it's weapon of choice, a huge totem like thing; Krapfen was confused as to how that could be used as an effective weapon. He calculated at the speed the both of them were moving they would meet in about thirty seconds, he started to gather Ice Ether around him to slow himself down and give him a few moments more time to plan out his next move.
The second the ice wore off he shot straight at the cow at max speed, when he reached five seconds from initial clash he formed a barrier with the surrounding ether. He could feel the drain on the ether supply as the shield formed; reminding him why he so rarely used it for this purpose. He braced for the impact of the weapon on his shield, the spikes on his arms grew in size, awaiting their moment...
-
Garlock
Garlock could not break the barrier, a few cracks formed around it, but he could not break the barrier. He knew enough, and that this fight would be tough. With surprising agility, Garlock whirled the totem around, spinning at an angle wee the blow would clock the astral upside the head.
Garlock smash you!
-
Krapfen:
The barrier cracked under the pressure, but held. The force from the impact threw off his calculations causing his attack to miss it's mark by a few inches. He quickly backed off from a heavy barrage of attacks as the cow spun around with it's totem. Again he froze the air in the battle field and used the time to begin charging his power attack, when the time was right he'd shoot the cow in the face with it.
Faking a second attack he flew straight into the air firing bolts of lighting ether at the cow as he gained altitude. As he reached the peak of his climb he put himself into a nose dive and sped toward the target as break neck speeds, all the while he could feel the ether building up inside of him...
-
Garlock
Bellowing in pain as the lightning bolts hit him, searing his fur and skin. He danced angrily, before bellowing.
Puny bird!
He drew the totem back behind his head, aiming carefully, before sending it hurtling straight towards the diving astral!
-
Krapfen:
He dove straight towards the totem, his calculations telling him to hit it straight on, if he moves even a little he'd miss with his Power Attack. He slammed into the totem, and nearly desynced from the impact alone, one way or another his was the end of this match. Getting closer to this target he could feel the Ether seeping out of every orifice of his body, just ready to explode...
And explode it did. the second he was in range he let it all go all at once. The powerful shock-wave tore through everything in it's path. Trees were torn from the ground, they took their roots with them as they were torn away. As the smoke cleared he felt sluggish, very sluggish; and the presence of ether couldn't be felt anymore, this was now a close combat fight...
-
Garlock
Garlock braced himself, drawing his ax defensively in front of him. As the explosion went off, he was thrown back, and severely injured, but still standing. He panted, falling to one knee for a moment. Garlock stood back, he had to finish it.
GROUND RIPPER!
The ground split apart at the seams, sending junks of rock everywhere, it was all or nothing. Garlock hoped, as his ax dissolved......
-
Hello, room service?...Yes I would like to place an order. Do you guys make sandwiches?....Ham and cheese, with water to drink....send it to room 512. Thank you.
Stan was relaxing in his room, happy to have slipped away from the media and other fighters. It was as though everyone wanted a piece of him, and he was glad to have this break from all the commotion.
Just once I would like someone to treat me like a person and not a celebrity.
The phone rang. Stan picked it up.
Mr. Masters, the chief of police is here. He has requested to see you.
Send him up. Just don't say my room number out loud.
As you wish.
He hung up the phone and took a seat by the window. What would his father want to talk about this time?
-
Krapfen:
The ground ripped out from under him as he heard the cow scream out the name of it's Power Attack. A few seconds later everything went black.
Leo:
I woke up and looked around, one more loss I thought; thankfully this wasn't a ranked fight. I walked towards Daylin, I always congratulat the winner, keeps it from getting too serious.
"Nice fight, guess I'll have to keep my distance from now on, won't I?" I held my hand out for a hand shake.
-
Garlock
Garlock pounded his fist against his chest, bellowing a war cry, before blacking out.
Daylin
He shook Leo's hand.
Closest match I've had in a while, thought you had me for a minute.
He smirked slightly.
How did that totem to the face feel?
H scratched at his back, where the fire had hit. Phantom pains.........
-
Ryan Masters walked past the two people who just battled. He didn't have to see it to tell it was intense. He made his way toward the elevator and hit the call button. He really wanted to talk battle strategy with his son, and maybe would have better luck at it this year. He stands by, while a boy with a cart of food takes a spot right next to him.
-
I laugh for a second then start to talk. "Felt like I ran face first into a wooden stick at speeds too fast for me to comprehend...is that food I smell?" Fighting always worked up an apatite, and I smelled some really good food. "What do you say we find us some food and eat?"
-
Daylin was about to nod, when a man caught his eye.
That is police chief masters! I bet he is going to visit his son, lets follow them, you might just get to meet the champion.
Daylin grabs two sandwhiches and hands one to Leo.
Now lets go.
Then he quietly sneak around Masters.
-
I follow him into the elevator chewing on my sandwich, not as good as the one's my mom makes; not by a long shot. I lean in the corner of the elevator and try not to nod off to sleep. Then I start to loudly hum the music to myself, what can I say, it's catchy...and I kinda like it. I catch myself staring at the chief, I'm half tempted to ask if he's really the Golden Hammer, but I don't want him to think I'm just another one of his countless fans, I'm not that desperate, yet.
-
The chief and the server get on. Masters nods at the two fighters.
Gentleman.
He presses button five and holds the door for the other fighter. He is too preoccupied to care for his son's wish to privacy. All he wants to do is discuss the tournament, make sure his head is in it.
-
Sean was sitting in his hotel room, looking at his mark.
It's almost time.... and this time no one is going to get in my way.
He already sighned up for the tournament a while ago, so he was just trying to relax for now. He turned on his TV to the news channel just in time to see the announcement.
We're coming at you live from the Golden Hotel, where world champ Stan Masters has just checked in. When prompted for an interview, he kindly refused and went inside. With the tourney three days away, one question remains, will the champ prove himself once more, or will we see the fall of a great warrior?
Sean chuckled to himself, with a bit of a creepy smile on his face.
Oh he'll fall all right, he'll fall right on his face when I beat him.
He walked out of the room with his hood over his head, locked the room, and walked down the hall and twards the elevator.
Mabye I can add a few wins to my winning streak before the tournament...
-
Jack stood there for a moment before leaving, staring at the TV. He understood why people liked Stan, but he was certainly over-hyped.
You know what? he thought to himself. I can beat Stan Masters, right now if I wanted to. I know, I'll find him and challenge him. That'll end his hype.
Jack took off in the direction of the hotel. When he got there Jack squeezed in an elevator with some red haired guy that looked strangely familiar, a guy he had never seen before, and who he suspected to be the police chief. Good, the police chief was Stan's father, he knew that, and he could follow him to Stan's room.
-
Daylin looked around, taking a bite of his sandwich. Ah, the sweet, succulent taste of turkey and ranch dressing! He took a single step into the elevator, and after a moment the doors began to close. He turned to the new man, who had just stepped on (Jack).
So, what's your name?
hE crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.
-
So, what's your name?
Jack looked at the man with the red hair, why did he look so familiar? It was probably just his imagination, but...
I'm Jack Santoshi.
He reached out his arm for a handshake.
-
Daylin slowly shook his hand, when it hit him.
I was scheduled to fight you in the tournament a few years ago, but you chickened out!
Daylin laughed, when the elevator stopped, opening to reveal yet another face he recognized. He had done his homework, these men could be a threat to him.
Welcome, snake guy. (Sean.)
-
The elevator finaly arrived and I was immediatly hit with familiar faces, a police cheif, and.... some random guy I didn't know.
Welcome, snake guy.
I glared at him, he was the one who beat me last year and got a higher rank than me. I smiled.
'Sup, steak.
I walked into the elevator, trying to ignore him. I instead looked at the other guy(Fenror).
Haven't I seen you before?
-
Daylin smiled faintly.
If I'm steak, you got your ass kicked by a DELECTABLE food.
He remembered there battle, that damn moron had poison him with some kind of acid. But, as shown with Leo, no one stands up to a ground ripper.
How does getting eliminated after such a winning streak feel? I wouldn't know.........
-
Haven't I seen you before?
I don't think so. Unless, were you by chance at the tournament four years ago?
It might seem like a random question, but it was the only place where they would have met.
-
I looked at him, unfased by his comeback, and unimpressed.
Oh you mean my winning streak of sixteen? It wasent my highest, but definitly not my lowest. I underestimated you last year, but this year I'm much stronger than that time, so watch your back... as for you.
I looked at the other person.
I faintly remember you. Your the one that ran away from the fight with that steak over there...
I thought for a moment.
Yes, I remember now... your that chicken from 4 years ago... I was just watching that year.
I smiled, smugly.
I bet you could've beaten that overgrown steak over there... or am I wrong?
-
Daylin laughed, his face brooding.
If he could beat me, then he could beat you. What was your best attack, spraying poison on me? That didn't phase Garlock much, but it sure mad him wanna smash you.... Which he did!
He turned to Jack.
Just kick this snakes ass, then you might be on my league.
-
I glared at Daylin.
Snakes dont have asses, moron.
I looked at the other one tautningly.
But that sounds interesting... how about it? When the elevator stops we battle.
-
But that sounds interesting... how about it? When the elevator stops we battle.
Jack wanted to accept, but then he wouldn't get his chance at Stan...
Then again, it was time people stopped calling him chicken.
Alright, you worm. Let's battle.
-
The elevator dinged and the doors open, I stepped out with my hood down.
Alright then, let's get started number five.
I smiled and my symbol turned into an orb. I'll show them who they're dealing with.
Let's go with tilted treetops.
-
Daylin growled stepping off the elevator.
Leo, see you later, I have some business to settle with slither here.
He glared at him, then said
I am joining this fight, to kick your ass. It is just training, so a three way battle should be allowed. Also, you might rethink tilted tree tops, it is Garlock's best arena.
He leaned against the wall, awaiting the two.
-
Jack got off the elevator.
You might want to change the arena, unless you want Garlock absolutely destroying us.
He stood next to the others. A three way, that would be interesting. Jack knew one thing for sure, though. He couldn't allow himself to lose.
-
I finally grew bored of TV and turned it off. I needed some practice, so I got up and left my room. I walked over to an elevator and pressed the button. While waiting for the elevator, I started thinking about my battle strategies. I had a tendency to use Void Cannon too early and it would cost me the battle or make things too close for comfort. I spaced out, staring at the elevator door. It opened in fromt of me, bringing me back to reality. Three presumably tourney participants stepped out.
Alright then, let's get started number five. Let's go with tilted treetops.
Leo, see you later, I have some business to settle with slither here.
I am joining this fight, to kick your ass. It is just training, so a three way battle should be allowed. Also, you might rethink tilted tree tops, it is Garlock's best arena.
You might want to change the arena, unless you want Garlock absolutely destroying us.
I stepped off to the side, trying not bringing any attention to myself.
-
I laughed a bit, he had no idea.
My astral is strongest in this feild as well, baka. But if that's how you want it, fine, I'll beat both of you with ease.
I concentrated, my orb glowing.
Now are you actualy going to fight me? Or are you too scared that I'll beat you this time?
-
Fine, then, let's battle.
Jack honestly didn't care who won now. As long as that worm didn't win, he didn't care.
His symbol began to glow. Noctis was eager to battle. It had been a long four years. Then it began to glow even brighter. It even began to burn a little. Then a green orb materialized in front of Jack.
-
Daylin
Daylin snorted.
Let us see who wins, the bull or the snake... Or... the dragon?
The put his hands together, and the mark on his leg began to glow. Slowly a blue orb appeared in front of his face, and his mind left his body.....
Garlock
Garlock looked around, noticing the forest was fixed and he was back in the arena.
Garlock smash little snake.
He began to trek up the platform trees, careful to stay hidden.
-
The police chief stepped out of the elevator and decided to spectate where he could. The server left the scene to deliver the food to Stan.
These young people are to fast to fight.
He did a spectate synch, and all he can see is the fighters in the tilted treetops.
-
Sean
Sean smirked, and focused, his mind leaving his body and into Venom
Venom
Venoms eyes flew open, he was back in the arena again. He hissed, catching the scent of the one who humiliated him last year. He quietly but swiftly glided through the platforms, following the scent of the Minotaur. Venom caught another scent, and changed directions following it until he saw a dragon from the shadows. Venom leaped at him, his blades shining. He had the element of suprise!
-
Man, it feels good to be back in the arena. Noctis thought to himself. He launched upward, taking to the sky.
Agh, I hate this place. My opponents have such an advantage, too. Oh well, I'll just burn down these trees if I must. He continued thinking.
Then he heard something. Saw it out of the corner of his eyes. Smelled it. Noctis shot forward, avoiding the Snake's attack.
-
My astral is strongest in this feild as well, baka. But if that's how you want it, fine, I'll beat both of you with ease.
Now are you actualy going to fight me? Or are you too scared that I'll beat you this time?
Fine, then, let's battle.
Let us see who wins, the bull or the snake... Or... the dragon?
I couldn't believe my luck. THREE tourney contestants, battling right here in front of me. I chose not to get on the elevator to take notes on this battle.
Another person who looked familiar stepped out and performed a spectate sync. I decided to do the same. There was a giant bull, a bi-ped dragon and a serpent.
-
Garlock
He traveled quietly, careful to make little noise. Suddenly, a scent, and then track marks caught his eye. They were etched into the dirt, just below the tree platforms. What a clumsy snake, leaving his tracks! He was careful to stay on the platform the trees formed, watching as the snake and dragon battled.
Garlock smart.
-
Mikto continues to walk down the hall when he gets in a random elevator.
With any luck, on a random floor there will be a battle...
after going to floor 2 and not seeing anything he got to the 3rd floor. he saw a few people do a spectate synch so he was like "okay guess I'll do one.."
Huh. I wonder who'sssss battling...
Mikto slowly crept over to a synch station, and then spectate synched.
Can't WAIT to ssssee who'ssss fighting... probably going to be ssssome other tournament people...
[SIINTCA :I a bit confused.]
-
The dragon managed to dodge my first attack, and I recover by coiling myself lightly around a tree and stare up at him.
Not bad, normaly I KO people with the first attack...
I disappear in the foliage and start leaping from tree to tree at high speeds twards him. Then I leap at him, blades ready once more.
-
Jack smiled. As long as they were in the air, he would certainly be able to win.
He zipped around as Venom launched at him again, but only barely dodging him this time. The he spun around, launching a flurry of fireballs at the serpent.
-
Garlock
Garlock sat quietly, surveying the scene. He knew the flying lizard would be his biggest problem. He decided to help out the slither beast, and with some difficulty, being as quiet as possible quiet, he ripped off a thick trunk of the horizontal trees. Taking careful aim, he surveyed the win to make sure it wouldn't carry his scent. It was blowing north, it wouldn't. (Gotta love growing up in a pack where you learn to do all this stuff XD) hen, he slammed the large tree trunk down towards the undefended back of the winged beast.
Garlock get that birdie.
-
Noctis heard the sound of wind rushing towards him! He spun around just in time to dodge the tree trunk flying his way, or so he thought. The tree caught him on his side, making him lose his balance. Noctis fell, small bits of earth flying up as he smashed into the ground. He struggled to get up as the dust cleared. He opened his wings, and flew up. His movement was slowed, though, his side flaring with pain.
-
I noticed the flying tree, and looked at the scorce. I didn't see anyone but since there's only one other person here...
That sneaky bastard...
I regained focus and started leaping from tree to tree twards the dragon, then I stop at the tree nearest to him and whip my tail blade at him!
-
Chief Masters left the match, smirking. He figured that these guys were no match for his son anyway. He went to room 510 where Stan opened the door, sensing that his father was there before a knock.
Hello father.
Chief Masters entered the room, and hugged his son.
My boy, how have you been? It's been a year since we last spoke, I was getting a little worried.
Spare me the family moment. We both know why you want to talk to me. You have a new strategy you want me to try, or a press conference you want me to go to.
The cheif walked around the room a bit. He was disapointed in the condition.
Isn't this room a little small? You would think they would give you the penthouse suite. We should go talk to the manager...
Father, please The penthouse was too big for me to enjoy on my own last year. Besides, I like a small, quiet place to rest in. It allows me to think a little better.
Stan went over to the food tray that was left for him and grabbed a couple of the sandwiches. He gave one to his dad. The one thing they had in common was favorite food, and pretty much the only thing besides being fighters.
Look son, I only want what's best for you. You're the champ, you deserve to live in luxary. When I won my first title, I had the biggest party of my life. Also, I seen this years competition, and I must say, not the strongest bunch I ...
Enough! I apologize, but things can change. If you'll excuse me, I need to rest, I had a long flight.
I got some time off to watch you in the tourney. Myabe by then you'll be in a better mood.
The chief left the room and started back to the elevator. Stan went to his bed to rest.
My head hurts. I really hope no one bothers me.
-
A few new people came into the elevator, exchanges some words; it was clear there was a rivalry there, didn't concern me so I kept to my own business. The Elevator stopped and the new people left as well as Daylin. The Chief got off on his floor; I considered following him, but I was sure I'd see plenty of him soon, especially considering I'd soon be the new champion. I pressed the ground floor button, in my haste I had forgotten today there was pasta in the cafeteria, and I couldn't pass that up, it also meant I got to jam to some awesome music a little bit longer, nothing better.
-
Noctis smelled the musty scent of snake. He launched himself upward, just missing the swing of Venom's tail blade. He then launched a swarm of fireballs at the the tree that Venom was on, lighting it on fire. Now where was Garlock? He searched around, but couldn't catch the bull's scent. Should he dive into the trees and go looking for him? No, he decided to wait here in the air, where he was safest. If he went into the trees, Garlock would certainly have the advantage over him. So he stayed where he was, wondering what happened to the serpent on that burning tree.
-
I slid off the tree, barely avoiding the fire. I was getting annoyed, wanting to use my super move, but it was too soon. Then an idea popped in my head and I grinned(?), then silently, but quickly started jumping upwards with the trees until I was above the dragon. I aimed carefully with my tail blade, then started striking the tree above the dragon untill it started falling twards him!
-
Noctis heard a knocking on the tree. What was that? He moved upward a little, smelling snake once again. He shot upward, not knowing what was going on. Nothing happened, and the knocking was still apparent. What was happening? Maybe it was a trap. Maybe the serpent had him right where he wanted him, so Noctis flew back to where he was earlier. Still nothing happened. Then there was a creaking sound. Sucker. Did the worm even bother to look up to ensure he was there? But Noctis was wrong, the creaking sound was a tree, and it began to fall right towards him! He tried to fly out of the way, but the tree crashed down onto his right wing, sending him plummeting towards the ground. Dust clouds flew up, the earth cracking with the force of the fall. Noctis tried to get up, but his wing was stuck. He struggled, but it wouldn't come free. He was helpless, unless, what if he were to use his special move and burn the tree? He thought for a moment...
-
He laughed, why didn't he do that sooner? He made a mental note of that stradegy. He leaped to a tree that was above where he was stuck at, time to finish him off.
Well, you werent bad, but it's about time I finish this.
He inhaled deeply, gathering the venom in his body and then uses his super move, spewing acid at the dragon while he was trapped!
-
Noctis howled as he ripped his wing free in desperation. The part of his body where the wing attached to his back tore open slightly, spraying blood all over the dravir. He dove out of the way from any attacks that may be launched at him, but a little poison hit right into his fresh wound. He roared in pain. If he couldn't win, then neither would this snake. He launched a storm of fireballs in the serpent's direction, and in one last attempt, unleashed his special move, Flare Burst, sending waves of fire out in all directions, igniting a bunch of trees, and hopefully getting at least some sort of hit on that stupid snake. Suddenly, his senses decreased. His sight became fuzzy, there was a ringing in his ears, and he had trouble feeling the ground around him. The poison didn't help either. He tried to stand, but crumpled, the poison overcoming him. He blacked out, his synch ending.
-
OH SHI-
I din't get to finish as I attempted to jump up the trees, the fireballs starting to burn everything, and a few hit me on my tail and one on my back. I hissed in pain, fire was my weakness. I took cover behind a tree, but it wasent enough and it burst into flames, then started collapsing. I hissed in pain and jumped to another, barely avoiding the waves, with burnt marks everywhere. The tree's that were hit all collapsed, including his, and he rolled off of it, barely concious, and still holding the synch strong, and breathing hard.
*pant*... *pant*... Was... was that all... you got? .... he... hehe... Oh, there go my organs.
He collapsed, still concious, and tried getting up.
Well... at least I won.
I couldent shake off the feeling I was forgetting something.
-
Garlock
The wind had shifted,a nd he had caught sight and scent of the slither beast.
Garlock crush.
Following hsi scent, he managed to find him, and staying out of view, just barely see able by his horns, he took his totem off his back.
Garlock smash!
He took a step back, before hurling his totem full force! An instant later, he unsheated his ax, and bellowed.
GROUND RIPPER!
He slammed it into the ground, which ripped apart at the seams, the crack spreading around slither beast. His ax began to dissolve, but he beat on his chest in victory. He was sure he had won.....
-
I went wide eyed.
Fu**, what do I do?!?!... Screw the rules!
He leaped out of the way, and leaped at the tauren, coiling around him and bit him in the neck. He screamed and fainted, leaving venom victorious.
YES! I WON!!! I F***ING WON!
Back to reality...
That would be awsome...
He was hit by the totem full force and plummeted into the huge crack. He hissed in pain and lost conciousness, losing his synch.
Sean
My mind came back to me and I punched the wall.
Damn it.... Why?!
I looked at Daylin with fury in my eyes.
How come your the only other person that can beat me?!?!
He ran to the stairs, and started going down them. He was too angry to wait for an elevator.
-
Jack stood there looking at Daylin. For once, he laughed. That was the most fun he'd had in a long time.
That was a great match! he said to Daylin, usually never this happy.
Jack then noticed a man hiding back in the corner (darkstar), his spectator orb disappearing.
I don't think I've seen you before.
-
Garlock
Garlock bellowed in victory, before desynching.
Daylin
Daylin smiled and leaned against the wall.
Teach him to be a pompous, arrogant, ass hole.
Tylan
Tylan was hidden in the stair way of the hotel, he had watched the match between his brother, and smiled as he won. Suddenly a man came storming up the stair way.
Looks like someone lost a match, mind telling me to who?
If he was correct......
-
You mean the asshole who wont leave me alone and had to use his freind to beat me? His names Daylin. now if you excuse me, I need to go let loose some steam.
I continued down the stairs, I just wanted to be left alone.
Why.... why is he stronger than me?
-
As I sat eating my pasta I pulled out my notebook, turned to an empty page and began to write. I labeled the page Garlock, I began to write down various notes about what I learned from our fight.
"Not too incredibly smart, makes up for that with sheer strength, a powerful physical attacker, easily the strongest Astral Being in the tournament. Dislikes fire based ether attacks, nearly strong enough to shatter ether shield, possible uses? Use to redirect my movements possibly... Is able to survive a direct hit from Ether Storm, use only when desperate. Conclusion: KEEP DISTANCE AT ALL COSTS.
I looked up from the notebook and took a bite of food, Garlock was the only one I really had to worry about; just had to keep my distance.
-
Tylan
Pressing one leg agsint the wall, he crossed his arm across his chest.
Kid, you must learn to accept defeat. The bull outsmarted you, letting you tear each other apart. It is your own fault, who was the ignorant reptile that forgot about the lumbering bull?
Tylan smirked.
Never under estimate your opponent, take it from the man who beat that very bull last year.
-
He looked down and put the hood over his head.
Accept defeat? Oh sure that'll get me nowhere real fast. I know what my mistake was, and I dont need some random, stuck up guy telling it to me again. Now if you excuse me I have training to do.
I continued walking down the stairs, angry.
Well at least that other guy isn't in the tournament, otherwise I would never have a chance...
-
The battle ended, and we returned to reality. I began taking mental notes about each of their battle strategies.
I don't think I've seen you before.
I looked up. The red-haired one from the battle was speaking.
Probably not...I'm sorta new.
I thought about slipping away to find someone to battle, but there was someone to battle right in front of me who was probably eager to battle. Plus, it'd give me a chance to test a strategy for battling him.
I don't...suppose you'd want to battle me, would you?
-
I don't...suppose you'd want to battle me, would you?
Hmm Jack thought for a moment. (I'm not the red head btw)
Alright. A green orb appeared in front of Jack as he synched with Noctis.
Noctis looked around. The Lava Pits. This was where he fought the beast that was Jack's dad year's ago. This was also one of his two favorite arenas. He embraced the heat. Drew from it. It made him feel...strong.
-
(He kinda looked red-headed to me. Not as much as Daylin, but still.)
The symbol on my leg began to glow, and a purple orb appeared in front of me. I closed my eyes, and reopened them in a completely new place, the volcano. I looked around a little, it had been a while since I had battled here.
Let's get started....
Using both my legs and wings for propulsion, I rocketed up into the air, getting a good vantage from a good 70 feet up in the air. Looking around from that point, I was able to see the green dragon a ways away. I rocketed myself directly towards him, with my arm forward.
-
Hmm, I see. They always make the same mistakes.
Noctis waited as the android flew down at him. Waiting... He noticed he stood not far from a lava pool. Then, at the last moment, Noctis sidestepped so that the robot would hopefully slam into the ground. He smiled, his senses were so helpful at times like this. That, and common sense.
-
As I flew towards him, he sidestepped to avoid my attack. I smirked. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I did indeed smash into the ground. My body was more resilient than that, and all it did was kick up a dust cloud. I waited a couple seconds for him to drop his guard, then quickly dove for him, aiming for a chop at his neck region.
-
A strange man in glasses walks from the stairwell and heads straight to Stan's room. He has a briefcase in hand. Stan snaps awake, sensing a strong astral energy coming toward his room, one that is unfamiliar. He waits for a knock, and then opens the door.
Mr. Smith. You had me scared half to death. What brings you here and how did you get my room number?
In order, I have something you will want to get a hold of, and your father told me. He figured a friendly face will cheer you up.
Mr. Smith sets down the briefcase.
You know that randomizer in the arena?
Well, yes, everyone does. It shows symbol of the arena that two fighters will synch to, then summon an orb to host it.
Well, my company has figured out a way to shrink it, and make it easier for fighters to synch with the one orb process. Behold...
The briefcase opens, revealing five disks, all with a different symbol.
Seal Disks. We are still working on a name.
Stan grabs one of the disks. He recognized the symbol for the Low-Grav zone immediately.
How do they work?
Mr. Smith grabs the disk, and takes a few steps back from Stan.
Just throw in front...
He throws it, and the disk stops mid flight and spins rapidly, summoning a green orb.
then synch. The best part is, you only need one orb to do so. No longer will anyone have to guess who is fighting who. The fighters will be facing the orb. Spectators can synch with the orb as well, once it turns blue of course. And no one needs to waste astral energy to summon an orb, or strip off a piece of clothing to reveal their mark.
It's too bad you don't gave an astral. I would really like to try it out now.
Take these and go try them out. They will go on sale tonight at the arena kiosks. Kind of a promotion for the tourney. Competitors will get a seal of their choice for free. The rest will be cheap.
What about created zones?
They will need a blank disk for that. I'll give you one as well. Just summon your orb, face the disk towards it, and it will be absorbed into it instantaneously. After that, you just need the disk. Anyway, I should get going to supervise the setup. Have fun with the new tech.
Mr. Smith leaves quickly. Stan takes the disks and places them in his pocket.
I should find a fighter. Maybe later. I'm still a bit tired.
He goes to take a quick nap.
-
Tylan
As he leaned against the wall, he noticed a man with glasses walking by. He seemed to eager, and carried a shining suit case. Tylan stood, looking down the hall. Within the last hour, that room had gotten to high looking visitors. Walking up the stairs, he knocked on the room.
anyone in here?
-
Stan sensed another presence. He wasn't sure if he was just detecting the disks or a fighter. He heard a knock, which shook him out of his thought.
anyone in here?
Stan opened the door. Yeah, this was definitely a fighter. He really wanted to sleep, but he also wanted to test out the disks.
Can I help you with something?
-
Tylan
Well, I now know why your room was getting so much attention. Well, since you don't seem to be in the mood to fight, might I ask who that man was?
He leaned against the wall, scratching his arm. He brushed the hair out of his eyes, and awaited an answer.
-
That was Mr. Smith, the guy who made the arena randomizer for the tourney. He was showing me something. I just got a crazy idea. Do you want to test out some new tech he gave me? It will be really quick.
Stan pulls out the disks.
It will take me a long time to explain them, but I rather just show you. Are you up to it?
-
Tylan
Tylan smiled, he knew this one would be close.
I didn't place third in the last tournament for no reason, but you aren't champion for no reason.
He opened his palm.
So, I am up for it, guess give me one of those disks.
-
Slow down, this is a test run. Let's see...
He looked through the disks, and found the one for Mist Valley.
Mist valley it is. Alright, now I just stand here.
He takes a couple steps back and throws the disk forward, where it stops mid flight, and summons a green orb.
Just synch with that, and we can get started.
Stan performs his synch, and he is in Mist Valley as Ripfang. This method felt a lot smoother than just summoning an orb from his mark, and he felt like he had a bit more energy. He awaited his opponent to synch.
-
Tylan
Tylan examined the small, smooth, metal object. It interested him, how could an object that mall help him? He would think about it later. He clsoed his eyes, and synced.
Sub-Zero
He was surrounded by mist, so much mist. Raising his head he howled, before beating his feathery black wings. He shoot into the sky like a black and white bullet, blindly flying forward, and shooting as many small ice spikes as he could in all directions!
HOWOOOOOOOOOOO!
-
Ripfang was used to dark areas, heard a howl and what sounded like a barrage of attacks. HE rushed right toward them, dodging the strange flying objects as he sped along. He could hear the beating of wings, and was right under the flying beast. He let loose a few howling bursts into the air above him, listening to the pattern the beast was flying in. If he can shoot it down, he could start clawing away.
-
Sub-Zero
a piercing sort of shriek caught his ear, and he immediately took evasive actions. He did a small spin, darting side ways. Five blasts of sound flew by him, but one grazed his wing. He began to spiral out of control, spinning towards the ground n clumsy arcs. flapping furiously he managed to pull up, an instant before he hit the ground. He began to hover ever s slightly, and the faint sound of breathing caught his canine ear.
Howoo!
He shot a burst of six ice spikes at the direction of the breathing!
-
Ripfang hears the attack coming towards him. He used his claws to shatter the objects, which felt cold to the touch. This thing is shooting ice. And ice equals water. With the attack done, he rushes towards the sounds again, and uses his sense of smell to make sure there are no more surprise attacks. Below the creature again, he lets out another set of howl bursts straight above, this time in a circular motion.
-
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero howled out in agony, beginning to plummet as he tried to cover his ears. He could feel, blood........ His ears were bleeding!
Howoorrroooo!
He swooped around, tucking in his wings, he began a nose dive straight at RipFang, major force behind him! His claws were outstretched, and his fangs bared!
-
The thing was heading straight toward him, that much he could tell. It was closing fast, and Ripfang had no time to dodge. He put his arms up to block and he felt claws hit them, sliding him back until he toppled over, taking some damage, and having the creature right above him for a brief moment, he grabbed it by the hind legs and held on. Now that this thing had no where to hide, he bit down on one of the flapping wings and let loose some howl bursts to bring it to the ground.
-
Sub-Zero
He knew this was his last chance, and he could use this to his advantage. He toughed through the pain, raising his head to howl. As he did, a small globe of ice began to form inside his mouth. When it was quite large, and rippling with the power it held, Sub-Zero threw it to the sky, sending it sailing down at the both of them
Howroo!
-
Ripfang decided it was time to end this. He pulled up on the wolf, and with all his might, threw himself so he was directly under the wolf, and let the ball of ice hit it's sender directly, causing both of them to come down to the ground. Ripfang gained momentum to get on top of the wolf, and applied more pressure so the impact on the ground was greater. With the beast right where he wanted him, he started to maul away, using his claws and teeth to cut away at his opponent.
-
Sub-Zero
He howled out, instincts taking over as he sunk his fangs deep into RipFngs side, efore passing out.
Tylan
He jolted to attention, sighing.
Nice match.
He flipped his hair, then stuck his hand out for a shake.
-
The wolf got one last attack on before passing out and de-synching. There was some ice forming around the bite. Ripfang looked to the sky.
AAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
He de-synched, and Stan was back in the hotel room. The disk stopped spinning and returned to its owner. Stan grabbed his opponents hand for the shake.
Nice one. You are a tough opponent indeed. I almost had trouble locating you in the beginning.
He let go of his opponents hand and handed him the mist valley disk.
This is my thanks for helping me.
-
Tylan
Tylan smiled, this would come in handy. HE placed it in his pocket, then smiled.
Was nice fighting with you, maybe I'll see you in the tournament.
He tucked his hair out of his eyes, and began to walk out of the room.
Daylin
Seeing Jack and a new guy battling, he decided to spectate the match. his mark began to glow, draining his energy for a moment, and he was in the match.
-
Stan closed the door after the guy left. He was happy to use the disk, and couldn't wait until everyone had some later on. He returned to his bed to take a well deserved nap.
Guess today wasn't all bad.
-
So smashing into the ground didn't hurt him much. Maybe I underestimated him, but after all he was a robot, and I don't think the heat will fare him to well. Noctis thought.
Noctis glanced at the robot, then he noticed a twitch in his eyes, a slight movement in his legs. Anticipating the attacck, Noctis shot straight up into the air, dodging the androind! He them shot a w wave of fireballs down at the robot before zooming across the arena.
-
Simply by jumping around, I was able to dodge all of the fireballs, but one hit me directly. It didn't hurt, so much as mess with the circuitry. My vision began to flicker, and would sometimes change color.
Note to self...Don't get hit by fire.
I looked around for the dragon again, and found him flying away from me. I raised my left arm, and my forearm expanded to reveal small rockets. I took aim at him, and fired 5 of them in his direction. I figured I'd wait over here to see how he dealt with them.
(They're homing rockets, by the way.)
-
Garlock
He sat cross legged on a pit by the lava, observing the fight. He sniffed as the rockets were launched, they gave off a peculiar and disgusting stench.
Garlock not like those.
The smoke the put off burnt his nostrils, and he bellowed an unheard roar.
Flying metal burn!
He ripped the totem off his back, trying to smash them, but it phased through the stinking piece of metal. Garlock bellowed, he couldn't touch them!
You can't do anything, at least not in here, bullowoooooooulll.
Garlock spun, to find himself face to face with a snow white wolf, its black, feathery, wings tucked back.
Tylan
He walked quietly down the stairs, replaying there battle in his head, he knew there was a way to beat RipFang. That was it! He should never have swooped low, well he should have, just not then. He tripped on the last stair, and raising his head as he caught himself, saw two people, and his brother who he knew would be in the tournament. Deciding to spectate, he synced, losing energy, and began to watch the battle. He watched as Garlock tried, and failed to hit the missiles. With the trick he had learned over the years, he howled out a sentence, vaguely understandable in english.
You can't do anything, at least not in here, bullowoooooooulll.
-
Noctis noticed a group of five rockets coming his way. He jetted up toward the sky, and the rockets followed him!
Homing rockets, huh.
He got an idea. He flew straight a ways, the missiles getting ever closer. Then Noctis quickly shot toward the ground, one of the rockets not getting the direction change and went on straight before exploding in midair. Then, right before Noctis hit the ground, changing directions again, two more rockets exploding into the ground. He flew on straight now, and prepared to change again when one of the rockets slammed into him and exploded! He fell to the ground, the last rocket nailing him in the stomach, forcing him to cough up blood.
-
As I finished my third plate of pasta I looked to the clock and realized I was late for my daily run. I stood up, put my notebook back in my pocket then headed up to my room to change into better clothes to run. The hotel was much more crowded now, people from all over were coming to this city to either fight in the championship or watch; soon there would be bets, and it would stop being fun for everyone, everyone except me at least.
I finally got to my room after too many challenges to count, I quickly changed clothing; my sleeveless shirt clearly showing my Astral Mark. It blazened gold against my tan skin as I walked into the sun, people who were in a hurry turned their heads to see what was reflecting so much light into their eyes. Putting the cameras that were now snapping pictures of me out of my mind I started my run after a few quick stretches.
"I think I'll do ten miles today. Yup that sounds good."
-
Sean was in the park, sitting on the bench with his hood over his head. I was thinking about the rematch with that Minotaur or Tauren or whatever it was, it was steak either way. And every time I look over it, that random guys words echoed in my head. I tried to shake it off. I know what my mistakes were, they were obvious, but how am I supposed to improve on them?
Ugh, this is just one big mess... I might as well let off some steam.
I got up and looked around, there was a small group of astral fighters talking to each other. I made a sly smile, removed my hood, and walked towards them. Better start on a new winning streak while I'm at it.
-
I watched at he was able to maneuver away from most of the rockets. I saw the two of them hit him, and I was rather surprised.
I raced over to him, stopping in midair, right in front of him.
Hello! This is the part where I beat you!
I immediately performed a reverse-bicycle kick to send him careening towards the ground.
(I think that's better.)
-
Tylan and Daylin
They sat across from each other, Daylin growling, and Tylan smiling coolly.
Ya know what, if you can prove to my mind over matter, I will be your apprentice!
The fight was over something stupid, Tylan had simply pointed out he could help, careful to keep his face hidden. It had turned into an argument, and was about to turn into a battle. THey had caught the attention of a few reporter nearby, or Daylin had with his shouting. Whispers flew, most thinking Daylin was about to chalk up another win.
Fine, I will even give you the advantage.
Tylan removed the mist valley disk from his pocket, placing it in the air in front of him. It began to glow green, showing it was ready for sync.
What is that thing?
Tylan laughed, his face tucked towards the ground, still hidden.
You'll hear soon enough, I expect.
Whatever.
Both marks began to glow, and Daylin was shocked to find it was easy to sync, normally it required energy. Both synced with ease, and the battle began.
Sub-Zero and Garlock
A flapping of wings was all that Garlock could hear, and he saw nothing through the thick veil of mist.
Garlock smas-!
He was cut off as a barrage of small ice spikes slammed into the side of him, leaving small red whelps. On instinct he swung his totem, ripping through empty fog.
Howroo!
Garlock was slammed into again, sharp claws cutting deep into his thick hide. Per usual, thee wigned beast was gone again before he could hit, he hadn't even seen the thing! He bellwoed out, but a ringing of the Tauren elders words echoed in his ear.
An angry mind is a narrow mind.
It was one of the many lesson, in peace, he never got. He breathed heavily, listening. The faint beat of wings, and a howl caught his ear, and instantly he spun, his totem connecting head on with the jaw of the the winged beast. As it hit the ground, he was above it with the totem, ready to smash it! But, he froze. That astral, it couldn't......
BAM!
He was hit square in the eye with a spike of ice. Before he could react a howl split the air, and a feathery wing, with a large, rippling ball of wispy ice slammed into his chin! He desynced instantly, the battle was over.......
-
I walked through the downtown area, the streets bustling with people. My hood was down, I left the area and headed for the park. Maybe I can find someone there. my time in the city had been pretty uneventful. The best way to train is to fight someone stronger than you. Time is going quickly and the tournament is only in a few days so I need to train my hardest.
-
Tylan and Daylin
As the two reverted back, Daylin had instantly pinned Tylan to a wall.
I thought you were dead! You just vanished after beating me! Where were you?!
Tylan pried Daylin's hands off his neck, and smirked.
I was places, I see you're still as naive as ever.
Daylin snorted, slamming his foot into the ground. He stormed out of the hotel, he needed some air and a clean battle, no surprises.
-
I walked into the park, I placed myself down under a tree. My mind raced with stratagies, canceling out the bad ones.
Me-I will win the tournament, how can I not.
I bet most of the contestants don't even have stratagies, I bet they're just brute, mindless force. If so, this will be a piece of cake.
-
Tylan
Like a breeze in the night, Tylan was gone, leaving stunned men and women behind.
Daylin
Storming around, he brooded. How could Tylan just leave like that?! He was worried! He noticed someone who looked like a decent opponent under a tree and smiled, a noob to take out some steam on.
Hey kid, up on your feet, we're gonna fight!
-
I looked up to find a red head. His face was almost as red as his hair.
Me-umm, ok...
I got to my feet, I looked at him in a confused way.
Me-I guess... I'll... Ummm... Pick the field... I guess... Flat fields...
I am quiet around people, I don't know why.
-
Daylin
A green orb began to float in front of Daylin as he left his body, he wished that he had a disk like Tylan, those things were handy.
Garlock
Garlock appeared in the flat fields, pulling his totem off his back.
Garlock win!
He prepared to fight.

Half way through my run I noticed a pastry shop, stopping to enjoy the smell I decided it would be a crime against humanity not to stop in and get something to eat. As I jogged in my Mark went from it's bright gold color to a less brilliant gold, it was still enough to catch the attention of almost everyone on the store. They stared at the "Legendary Leo" as I walked up to the counter.
"I'll take two of your best donuts please!"
It was clear they were stunned, five miles from the tournament area they weren't expecting any big competitors to visit them. The girl behind the counter stammered for a second before getting herself together.
"Uh..yes, one minute sir." She grabbed a tissue paper and a plastic bag and quickly put two beautifully glazed donuts into the bag. She typed some numbers into her cash register and came out with a total of two seventy five. I paid her, then took a huge bite out of one of them.
"OMG! These are the best donuts I've eaten, ever!" The excitement on her face was obvious, perhaps she was a fan of mine. Not to be rude I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and quickly signed it for her. "Keep this to yourself, I don't want work getting out I gave out my signature. If that happens soon everyone in town will be swarming me for one. See you tomorrow..."I looked at her name tag. "...Aurora."
I shot a wave in her direction then ran out the door eating my second donut. As I turned towards the hotel I saw her slip the piece of paper into her front pocket then act as if nothing ever happened; the entire way back I couldn't help but think about the bear claws I saw in there; those would be my next targets tomorrow. But for now I needed to crank out a few more exercises then get some shut eye.
-
I left my body and synched.
Templar
Templar looked around, taking in the location. At the far end of the field was a overgrown cow. Templars system worked out a strategy. He took hold of his gun and walked slowly forward.
Templar-approach with caution, power, high, agility, low, range, short.
Finished with the survey Templar stopped quite far away, he lifted the gun and fired.
-
Garlock
Garlock shifted his totem, letting the bullet blow a small chunk out of it. THen he charged, the ground lumbering below him. As he got in range, he swung the totem in a wide arc, tryign to smash the templar.
Garlock smash!
He bellowed out as he attacked!
-
Templar jumped backwards but his left hand was nicked and 3 fingers were severed.
Templar-distance must be kept.
Templar jumped backwards, trying to keep the distance. he fired his gun as well.
-
Tyler
Tyler entered the park and looked around. He was unfamiliar with the city, but managed to get to the park with no problem. He noticed some astral fighters fighting each other, and started approaching when he heard a familiar voice.
Sorry boys, looks like I win again!
He started walking that direction, sure that it was his brother.
Sean
Three fighters where sitting exhausted in front of him, with him standing victorious, a bit tired though.
T-there's no way you could have beaten all three of us! Y-you cheated somehow!
Sean smirked.
Nope, I won fair and square. Sorry kiddo's.
He walked away, satisfied. He waited until two of them eliminated themselves, then eliminated the last one himself. He decided to use how he lost on other people instead of just whining about it. Then he froze instantly when he heard a voice.
Yo! Nice win, bro!
Sean turned to see his brother, Tyler. He thought he was training.
W-what are you doing here?
Tyler looked at him, a bit confused.
Didn't you get my letter? I told you I was coming today.
I probably didn't get it because I moved into a hotel. Now why are you here?!
Tyler shoulder hugged him.
Two reasons: One, I wanted to see you, after all, it has been five years since you left the town. And Two... Well I heard about the competition that was here, so I entered! :D
Sean frose and looked at his cousin, fearful.
You did what?! What happened to your secret training?!
Tyler looked at him, with a slightly serious expression.
What's the point of training if I cant fight?
He thought for a moment. He did have a point.
Anyway, I'm going to go find a hotel to check in at, see you later! :D
Tyler walked away towards the hotel, whistling, while Sean stood there processing all of this. His brother just entered.... he realized he has no chance of winning now.
-
Noctis watched asthe android ran up to him, and the dravir just stayed where he was, watching. He wiped the blood off of his mouth, but still stayed where he was. Stupid robot, when would he learn? As the android flipped inthe air, Noctis rolled to the side, dodging the attack! Standiing up, he then shot several fireballs at the robot's exposed back!

Stan wakes from his nap, felling well rested after his long trip. He turns on the TV while he heads into the restroom to brush his teeth, since his breath smelled like old ham and cheese. An ad comes on for the disks Mr. Smith brought him earlier.
Introducing the Arena Seals, the brand new product from Astraltech Industries. Summon arena orbs with ease, and synch without using that extra energy. On sale now at the kiosks around the arena. Tournament contestants get an arena of their choice for free, just present your ID for verification.
Hurry while supplies last, only $20 per arena, $10 for a blank disk.
Stan finished his routine, and grabbed his jacket to head out to the arena. He needed to talk to the coordinator.
Meanwhile at the arena, there are posters and kiosks all around selling the seals. Each one has a display case, as well as free instructional booklets on how to use the disks. Some of the workers are prepared to demonstrate the disks as fighters who heard the news are now gathering to get their free disk, and maybe buy a few for variety.
A hooded figure lurks out of sight of everyone, watching for something before disapearing away from the crowd.
-

I stop for a second and think, then I get my shoes on and decide better now then later, don't want to miss my chance to get the arena I want. As I go down stairs, as expected a huge line has already began to form. I muscle my way as close to the front as I can then start to whistle as loudly as I can.
"Wonderful news huh? More energy for the fights, imagine what we could do!"
-
Sean
Sean snapped back into reality. If he even hoped to get to where he can fight his brother, he needed training. He looked around and started walking towards the hotel, when he noticed some kids running to the arena.
Hurry! We need to get some disks before they run out!
He looked at them confused, and decided to follow them to the arena, where he noticed a huge line. He looked around and noticed a poster. Apparently they were selling a seal of some sort that can summon an arena efficiently without expelling much energy. He admits he has been tiring out lately, maybe this will help. He got to the back of the line and waited, trying to decide what field to get.
Tyler
He walked into the hotel, just in time to see the commercial.

He thought for a moment, though he didn't really need one, he supposed since he could get one for free he might as well try it. He walked to the outside of the arena, noticing the big line, and decided to just wait outside. it's not that he hates waiting, he just cant stand crowds.
-
Stan had a hard time getting to the arena. On the way, he was challenged, taunted, and begged for interviews from pretty much anyone. He was about to turn the corner when he felt a large collection of energy.
I guess a lot of people really want those disks. I hope Smith can make a decent profit.
He looked for a way around the crowd, but it was pretty much no use. His bet bet was to try and rush through and get in the main entrance. He charged ahead, trying to draw as little attention as possible to himself.
-
Sean
He was struggling trying to get through the crowd, it was almost as if the crowd was getting bigger somehow.
To think there's this many astral figh- WHOA!
All of a sudden someone ran into him at high speeds (Cortex), and Sean fell on his face.
Ow...
Tyler
Tyler was sitting cross legged, making constellations in his head from the stars.
I've always thought stars couldn't be seen in the city... Oh, a Giraffe! : D
(SIINTCA)
-
I was hit directly in the back with most of the fire. I was able to turn around and thrust my wings, which dispersed the fire and launched razor discs at the dragon. Meanwhile, my vision was starting to malfunction again, and I could feel my metal body heat up, which is never a good sign...
I need to finish this...quickly.
-
Noctis rolled to the side, his senses dodging some of the razor discs, but a few still hit him, knocking him to the ground.
Man, those things are sharp! Noctis thought.
This was starting to get annoying, as this battle seemingly wasn't going anywheres. He had to end this. Noctis rose to his fee, mustering all the energy he could, and unleashed his special move, Flare Burst! Waves of flame shot out in all directions, and hopefully it would take down that annoying machine.
-
My vision was lagging, and I didn't see the fire until it was too late. I tried to fly away, but I was still hit with most of the attack. The next thing I knew, I was on my back, only getting about a frame per second, sparks flying off my body. I slowly stood up, though, and walked in the dragon's general direction.
I-I-I-I'm ending this...Nooow...
My voice became low and faded out on the 'now'. I raised my right arm to my side, which slowly became an arm cannon.
Void Cannon...
The arm cannon began glowing purple. I brought my arm around so it was aimed at him now.
...Fire.
My arm cannon glowed brighter for a few seconds, then sparks flew from it, and the light faded.
...Great.
All the lights on my body flickered for a moment, then went out, as Android -6 fell over, inoperable.
I was thrust back into reality, staring back at my opponent.
Thanks for the battle...it was the most fun I've had in a while.
-
Tylan
Tylan stood high above the crowd, looking down on the scrambling morons. He had sneaked into his brothers room, and was currently leaning on the edge of the balcony. He pulled the disk from his pocket, and observed the round piece of metal, it was quite interesting.
What a concept.....
He just stared, a faint smirk lighting up his face, as the wind tousled his hair.
Garlock
Garlock shifted the totem again, blocking the bullet.
Garlock smash!
He charged, supporting the large totem with one hand, his muscles straining, as he drew his ax with the other, and swung in a cross chop!
-
Jack desyched...he had just won. He couldn't believe it! Maybe this year was his year! No, not maybe, he was going to win it all this year, prove that he was no chicken. Then he looked at his former opponent and smiled.
That was great! Thanks for the awesome match.
Then Jack looked out the door of the hotel. It was already evening! He had to get home!
Sorry for the suddeness, but I really need to go.
He ran out the hotel, heading towards the park, and then he noticed the mass of people hanging outsie of the arena. What was going on?
-
Just like that, he had left the room. I walked back to my room without another word. I sat down on the couch and turned the TV back on. There was an add for discs that would start arenas fr us to sync to on it's own. I didn't really see a need for it, but it said that your first one was free. I looked out the window towards where the tournament was being held, where the kiosks were. The area was crowded with people, so I decided against going. There would always be some tomorrow, and I could just get whatever was left. I sat back down, and thought about my recent match, coming up with strategies to avoid that happening again.
-
mikto, er, creeper, had zoned out while spectating. he finally realized it was over and de-synched. he decided that was enough excitement and went into the elevator. he pushed the button and went to floor one. when he got back his room. he walked into his room and suddenly stopped in his tracks.. he was staring face. to face with his parents. his mom looked at him.
So. what were you doing out late?
Erm.... uh..... I MIGHT have been spectating a battle.
well as long as you weren't fighting. I'm glad your not in the tournament.
UH...yeah! me too!
Oh thank goodness... dad didn't tell her. -.-
He turns on the Tv...

He turned it off and got up.
I'll be back soon. I have somewhere to go.
where are you going?
Erm...to see if anyone else is fighting. I'd like to watch!
Ok. have fun!
He walked out the door. closed to door and then sighed.
She is going to kill me once she finds it... oh well. WHO CARES?
he walked out and started walking towards the door to the outside of the hotel.
[SIINTCA. and with any luck. his parents wont appear ever again.]
-
Templar leaped backwards and the chop barely missed. He strafed around the bull and fired at his back. Frontal assaults are pointless, however taking his large size into comparison, agility must be low. That totem is heavy and sluggish, not fast but very powerful. His axe is faster but not as powerful... Analysis complete, battle begins.
-
Garlock
The bullets hit him square in the back, and he roared in pain. He sheathed hi ax, and with a mighty bellow hurled the totem head on at templar.
Garlock smash!
He once again drew his ax and charged, trying to cut Templar in half with a heavy swing!
-
Templar strafed to the left and the totem missed, the axe caught him off guard and his chest was bent in so deeply it threatened to destroy his power core. Templar's vision, buzzed and his speakers faintly transmitted sound. He grabbed hold of his gun, pressed a button and a small brightly glowing canister ejected. He jumped backwards, when he was out of range he threw the small canister. The canister flew for a few seconds then exploded in a bright blue light.
-
Stan ran into someone as almost fell to the floor. He looked down to see anther fighter, face first on the ground.
My bad, I wasn't really paying attention.
He helped the boy up.
I hope this doesn't make you mad, but I'm kind of in a hurry. I owe you an apology later. Meet me at the hotel lobby tonight and we can discuss it.
He left to the arena, where he managed to get into the main entrance. There were a few people inside the stadium getting things ready for the tournament. Stan needed to talk to the person in charge, but they were nowhere to be found. He starts to ask around.
-
My bad, I wasn't really paying attention.
Somebody helped Sean up, and he could only guess it was the guy who ran him over.
I'm fine.
I hope this doesn't make you mad, but I'm kind of in a hurry. I owe you an apology later. Meet me at the hotel lobby tonight and we can discuss it.
And with that, he ran off before Sean could even look at him, and he was left in the crowd.
Who was that...?
He shook it off, he'll find out tonight, but right now he needed to get through this crowd.
'Scuse me! Coming through! Oh look a Bird!
He somehow managed to squeeze through to the store.
Hey, I'm one of the competitors for the tournament! I'd like a blank disk please!
He handed the clerk his ID and some of the people in the crowd looked at him funny.
Hey, isn't that the guy that made 5th place last year?
Who, that shrimp?
I heard he's been trying to get a winning streak of 20!
He ignored them, and tried paying attention to the store clerk. He scanned the ID, and after confirming it gave me a blank disk.
Here you go!
I took the seal and left, not wanting to be in that ocean. He managed to get outside and sighed. He was surprised he survived that.
So, how'd that go for you?
Sean turned to the voice and saw his brother, Tyler.
Why are you here?
Tyler shrugged.
Same as everyone else apparently...
-
Garlock
Garlock sensed the dangers, and crossed his ax and arms in front of him. The explosion went off, blowing him off the edge of the arena, it looked like the robot won......
ARagaharat!
A hand, coated heavily with brown fur appeared over the edge. Garlock was singed everywhere, and almost out of energy. He bellowed out, and raised his ax.
GROUND RIPPER!
The ground split at the seams, the very arena trembling at the sheer power! The ax dissolved, and Garlock was sure he had won...........
-
Jack had decided to walk into the arena, and it was packed with people. He just stood there for a moment, unsure of what was happening. The he saw someone waving all the way towards the front of the line. Were they waving a him? No, there was no way some random person like that would know him. Sure enough, though, the girl started calling out his name.
Oh geez, Jack thought.
If he didn't go see the person soon, they were probably going to embarrass him in front of all these people. So he walked over to the person, shocked to discover who it was.
Jack! The girl exclaimed, hugging him.
Jack couldn't believe his cousin, Celine, was here.
What's going on here?
Celine then explained to Jack about the discs, and offered for him to say in line with her.
What are you doing here?
I'm in the tournament, of course!
It was their turn to get the discs, and Jack got one containing Fire Pits, while Celine got the Low-Grav Zone. Jack wondered why Celine had chosen that arena, but then he realized that he didn't even know what her spirit was.
Man, I wish they had Shadow Valley.
I have a seal for it. Here, hold out your disc.
Celine put up the seal for Shadow Valley, and Jack held out his disc. Next thing he knew, the arena was on there!
Sweet, thanks! So where are you staying tonight?
Um, that's a problem. The Golden Hotel didn't have any available rooms.
Well it looks like you'll be staying at my place, then.
Celine thanked him, and the two cousins walked off to the park, toward Jack's aparment.
-
The ground opened beneath Templar's feet and he grabbed onto on of the ledges with his two remaining fingers. The fingers could no longer hold and he fell into the depths and desynched.
Azza
I stared in confusion.
Me-ouch.
I guess I'm not as experienced as most of the people here.
Me-Ummmm... Nice battle... I guess...
I gave a small smile.
-
Garlock
Garlock bellowed in victory, then desynced.
Daylin
Daylin smiled.
You almost had me, not sure how I managed to pull myself back up from the ledge. Well, see ya later.
He turned and walked away.
Tylan
The aroma of delicious food filled the room, and smoke came from several of the pans placed on the stove. Flipping a hamburger, Tylan removed a piece of bacon and set it on a plate beside him. After several moments, four grilled burgers, decorated with vegetables and various toppings laid on the counter. Tylan took the top bun off his burger, add a slice of cheese and a handful of bacon. Then he placed the bun back on and began to eat.
MM, delicious.
Daylin
Arriving back at the hotel, he heard people whispering about something at the stadium. Quickly arriving at the stadium, he noticed a small crowd gathered outside. (It had shrunken.) Then he managed to bull through, knocking a few out of his way to see what it was all about. After listening for several minutes, he realized they were giving the disks Tylan had been using.
Give me tilted tree tops, and the flat fields. And one blank disc.
The man nodded, and after Daylin paying, handed him the disks. Placing them in his pocket, he bulled through the crowd, and headed back towards the hotel.
-
I sat looking at the blank disk I had just bought. I had quite a few arenas going through my head all at once, but the one I decided to sync to the disk was Bionis' Leg, a nice flat arena with few places to hide. I threw the disk in front of me as I had been instructed to do. I summoned an orb from my mark, instantly the disk absorbed the orb then glew very brightly. When it stopped glowing it had a grass like mark on it, I retrieved the disk then headed for bed, tomorrow was going to be a long day, you didn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.
-
Stan found how he was looking for, the owner and coordinator of the stadium. She was in her office tending to finances and the like. Stan approached her desk, and she looked up from her screen.
Well, if it isn't the champ. What do you need bud?
I need to discuss something with you. I hope this doesn't cause to much problem for you.
The two begin to talk.
(Conversation is kept a secret, when a few more posts are done, there will be a time change.)
-
Sean walked back to the hotel. He had a conversation with his brother about what he was doing for the past five years while Sean was gone... Of course, he knew it was all a lie.(I'm leaving that as a mystery until it's close to tournament time.) He walked into the hotel, tired, but then he remembered that guy that ran him over.
Who was he anyway? Probably someone who really needed a seal. I guess I'll wait for him.
He leaned against a wall, and waited.
-
Daylin and Tylan
WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM, TYLAN?!
Tylan smiled as the door flew opening with force, knocking a hole in the wall as the door stopper snapped from the force.
Having a snack, grab one.
With a flick of his wrist, a hamburger, still warm flew through the air. On instinct Daylin snatched it up, crushing it in his hand.
More specifically, why're you here?
Funny, all the rooms were booked, so I took it upon myself to snatch you're spare key when you pinned me to the wall. Funny right?
Yeah, real damn funny. I'm going to bed.......
Daylin collapsed in the bed, munching on the crushed burger. Damn, his brother could cook! Tylan flipped on the TV, quietly watching it. He had seen the disc's poking out of his brothers pocket, so he had gotten some........
-
mikto walked towards the outside of the hotel, and then towards the kiosks selling the arena seal disc things.he got atthe backof the line...
and houra weeka few minutes later he finally got to the front of the line.
Anti gravity arena please.
they scanned his arena ID and gave him the disc.
Yaaaaaay.
he walked away and back towards the hotel.
[SIINTCA]
-
After thinking about that battle and how to overcome it, I started to get tired and started to walk to the hotel. There's probably not going to be anymore rooms though, better check though. I sped to the hotel and walked through the front door. I looked around for a reception desk. The place seemed pretty full.
me-Does anyone know where I can check in?
-
(Before time change)
The hotel manager greets the boy.
I apologize, sir, but we have no more available rooms. As this is the time of the tournament, we are allowing entrants to sleep in the lobby if they have the proper identification.
(Current time)
I see. Are you sure you want to do this?
I'm sure. I had a long time to think about this.
Stan got up to leave.
Wait, before you go, there is something I need to warn you about. There is speculation that the first person you beat for the championship is back.
Well, if he is, the he will be gravely disappointed. Anyways, I have another appointment, so I will see you at the tournament.
Have a good night, Stan.
Stan exits the arena, there is still a small crowd getting the disks. Some of the kiosks already have a sold out sign, and the rest are putting signs that they are closing in an hour. He walks aver to a less crowded area and flags down a cab. Once at the hotel, he scans the lobby, and finds the boy he knocked over earlier.
Hey, sorry about earlier, I had something that needed taken care of. I think I owe you something for knocking you over like that.
-
Tylan and Daylin
With a snort Tylan slammed the sliding door of the balcony shut. He leaned against the railing. Relishing in the wind that whipped his hair around, the full moon shined above him, and he had the strange urge to howl...it was almost like he was flying. The window seemed to call him, and slowly he began to climb swiftly on the railing. Balancing precariously with the soles of his boots.
TYLAN, GET DOWN!
With a jolt his foot began to slip, and he vanished over the edge of the balcony. Daylin stood shocked, tears swelling in his eyes, before a chuckle split the air.
I am not going down like that. Pun intended.
With a grunt Tylan hauled himself back up, collapsing on the hard cement of the balcony. Daylin punched Tylan, and he laughed. God his brother was gullible.
(Eh, filler.........)
-
Sean
He was half snoozing against the wall, not even sure if the guy would come. Then suddenly a voice caught his attention and snapped him awake. He stared at the champion, confused. Did he mean he...
So wait... YOU ran me over???
He thought for a moment, it's not everyday you get ran over by someone famous.
... It's no big deal, it's hard to charge through a crowd like that without running someone over.
Sean looked at him suspiciously.
What exactly where you doing there anyway? I figured the champion would be the last one to need a seal... Well, that's none of my business... and about you running me over...
He held out a blank disk.
I've had an idea for an arena, and I don't know how to use this seal. Think you can explain it to me?
Tyler
He managed to sneak into the small crowd and out in a flash, getting a blank disk. He started spinning it on his finger.
Hmmm, what to do with this... I'll figure it out tomorrow.
He sliped it into his pocket, and looked around, the stars were a bit faded by the city lights, but he was able to see some consolations. He got an idea.
Hey, I wonder if there's any strong opponents walking around at night? Wouldn't hurt to look, I guess!
He started walking around the city, still hyper, and not the least bit tired.
-
I was soaring above the Makna Forest in Krapfen's body, it had been too long since I synced with out the intention of fighting; I'd missed this feeling, total freedom. I flew to the waterfall and landed on a rock, "I would give anything to see this with my own eyes..." A knock at my door made me desync to see who it was. it was later then I expected I always lost time when I synced. I walked to the door and opened it, the light from the hall hit my mark and nearly blinded the person at the door. They shielded their eyes as I pulled my sleeve down.
"Sorry for that, how can I help you?"
"Uh..It's Aurora from earlier...I'm here to give you a thank you gift." She held out an envelope with my name on it. As I took it from her she turned to leave; I quickly grabbed her arm.
"Where are your manners? It's rude to leave before all the gifts have been opened!" I shouted in a joking voice. She turned around, never once taking her eyes off of the ground as I tore the envelope open and took out a piece of paper. I unfolded it and a few coupons fell to the floor. The piece of paper had some writing on it, and from what I could tell it was a thank you letter."Why don't you come in and sit down, you look like you could use a seat." I wasn't just being nice this time, she looked like she was about to pass out. I helped her to a chair then ran for a glass of water. She took it, taking a huge gulp of it she seemed to relax a bit.
"I'm soooooo sorry about this, I shouldn't have bothered you this late..."
"Calm down for a second, guessing by this little note you wrote me you are a huge fan of me." She nodded "Ok, usually I send fans on their way and don't talk to them," She started to get up "but! You went through the effort to track me down so it would be rude of me to send you packing. Besides you've found my weakness," I looked at the coupons, three free donuts "free food! Now how about we go for a little walk, I'm feeling a bit bleh right now." I helped her to her feet, as long as she didn't go insane fan girl on me I could make this work. I decided at the first sign of crazy fan girl I would take off running.
-
Celine sat down on the edge of Jack's bed, even though he had a sofa, and turned on the TV.
You hungry?
No, I ate earlier.
So Jack went into his kitchen and got a couple of slices of pizza out of the fridge along with some soda. Without bothering warming it up, he went sit on the bed next to Celine.
Do you really have to eat on the bed?
Jack mumbled to himself, but sat on the floor anyway.
You know, I've never seen you fight before.
You want to swallow your food first? Jeez, who taught you those manners?
He ignored her, swallowing another bite. We should battle, just like a practice.
I don't know, Jack, I'm tired an- She looked at him. Fine, but it'll only be a practice match, won't count for anything.
Why, don't want to ruin your record?
I'm not worried. You won't end my nineteen game win streak that easily. I just don't want to mess up your record. She stood up and took out her disc, selecting Low Gravity.
Woah, wait, I can't finish eating first!?
No. An orb appeared in front of her.
Jack shot up, still chewing pizza, his orb materializing in front of him.
-
Stan smiled at the request. For once, he wasn't pressured for a battle.
Sure, I need to replace my Mist Valley disk and I guess this is a good time to use mine.
Stan pulled out a blank disk and pulled his shirt collar forward to let an orb out.
Just face the disk towards the orb...
Stan demonstrated, and the orb was absorbed into the disk, creating a new seal. A symbol for Mist Valley materialized on the disk.
, and you're good to go. I think once everyone is used to these, we might see more arenas.
Well, look at what we have here. Little Stan Masters teaching a whelp how to use my father's new piece of crap.
A man in red seemed to appear out of nowhere. He had a cigarette in his mouth, not yet lit.
Jayden, you know you can't sneak up on me. I can sense your astral's greed a mile away.
Still claim to sense energies? What a worthless way to get attention, it's not like you need the extra, being the champ.
The two stare each other down. The whole lobby takes notice, anticipating a showdown.
-
Tylan
He still sat on the balcony, enjoying the breeze. He glanced down, the height of which he was at firing him up. He noticed the bustling noise below go strangely quiet..... Looking down he could vaguely make out two men in the middle of a large crowd. He let out a feral growl, one of those men looked distinctly familiar. Tylan had only met the bastard once, and that was six years ago... He had destroyed Tylan early in the tournament all those years ago.....
That bastard is gonna die.
He ripped open the balcony door, storming out of the bedroom, careful to lock it behind him.
Daylin
Daylin was swamped out on the bed in the room, his phone beside his ear if anyone called....

me-oh ok... Here.
I pull out a worn plastic card that is my ID and I hand it to him. I hear voices behind me and I turn around to see a crowd gathered around two people... Wait, is that the champion and that rich guy. I slowly walked over to see that they were having it off. Well, this is interesting. I turn to the closest person.
me-What are they talking about?
The man turns to me.
Man-Well, I just don't think they get along... About what they're talking about, I don't know.
I nod and turn back, my eyes fixed on the two figures.
-
Sean
This guy, whoever he was, pushed the wrong button. Sean removed his hood.
Wanna say that to my face, punk?
He joined in the staring.
Tyler
Tyler entered the hotel, a bit annoyed.
Ugh, should have known no one would be walking around at night... at least, no one interesting.
He then stopped, suddenly noticing his brother, with two other people. He could tell that they were both very powerful, and that the one in black is just looking for trouble.
Hmmm... Something about him seems familiar. Ah well, might as well watch and see if they battle. Maybe I can spectate.
He stood there, a bit far from the action, but just to where he can hear what they're saying.
-
Tylan
He had managed to remove all signs of anger from his body, excluding the stiffing muscles, which he couldn't relax. With bounding steps he tore down the stairs, quickly reaching the bottom. With a final snort, he kicked open the door, tearing through a crowded lot.
Get the hell out of my way.
He continued to bull through them.
Daylin
He continued to sleep...........
-
We were on the edge of the crowd, far enough away that no one could over hear our conversation, but close enough to see what was going on.
"So you don't care if you win or lose, just that you have fun?"
"That's basically it. I wanted this all my life, and until two years ago I didn't have it. No way I'm ruining it. I mean, I do my best to win, and it shows with my current win streak."
She smiled a huge smile and got very excited. "Forty three wins, fifteen losses this year, current win streak fifteen!" She blushed then looked at the ground. "Sorry, I know you said no crazy fan girl stuff, but I just couldn't help myself..."
I couldn't help but laugh, did I really have a fan base already? I'd only been in the championship once, even then I lost early on."Nah, it's ok, nice to know someone out there is actually paying attention to me."
She grabbed my shirt and pointed towards a very pissed off looking person. "Think you could make that guy smile if he battled you?"
"I'm not..."
"Please?!" She did some sort of puppy dog eyes on me, and for the life of me I couldn't say no.
"Fine!" I walked up to the guy and dropped my hand on his shoulder. "Looking a bit glum today, think a fight will cheer ya up?"
I pulled out my Bionis' Leg disk and waited for his response.
-
Tylan
The minute the hand landed on his shoulder, he had whipped around, grabbing the arm and twisting it back. (Had permission.) He shifted his arm back, preparing to punch. As the man asked for a battle he froze, processing. Finally, he shook his head, his blue bangs drooping low.
Fine, hurry up.
He prepared to battle....
-
I shook off the pain then threw the disk in my hand between both of us, seconds later I was home, Bionis' Leg. The trick here was to lure then to the edge of the field and watch them fall over in desperation, or to simply push them over. I felt my mind meld with Krapfen's then I was where I longed to be more then anywhere.
Krapfen:
As the ether flowed into his body he let out a scream that was a trade mark of his kind, then he flew as high as he could and awaited his foe.
-
Tylan
As the disk floated in front of him, his mind slipped, taking on the survival atributes of the wolf. He slipped into Sub-Zero with ease.
Sub-Zero
he howled out, catching the shining light that was Krapfen, he looked like a star in the sun. He tore off at insane speeds, vanishing into the shadows of one of the hanging ledges. He was quiet, enjoying the shade as he drifted around the large, hanging rocks........
-
Krapfen:
The wolf was white, white enough to reflect some amount of sun before it vanished under one of the spines. I let out the screech again then dove for the spine I believed it to be under. I stayed out of obvious range then began to launch Flare Wave after Flare Wave into the dark area. If that didn't draw him out, then I'd have to go in and drive it out, which I was all too good at.
-
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero twisted around, shielding behind one of the dangling rocks. To his surprise, after taking three of the waves, the rock suddenly fell, and he narrowly avoided a blast. Howling in annoyance, he kept hidden, darting behind rocks. Finally the waves stopped, and he darted around in the shadows, firing ice spikes.
-
Krapfen:
The spikes took me by surprise and hit their mark without much resistance, I quickly back up out of their range and screeched again. I thought for a second, this wolf will use cover as long as it exists, guess I'll have to do my best to remove it. The air around me became more and more heavily charged with electric ether particals and I began to fire bolt after bolt of Lighting Strike at the cowardly dog's hiding place. Spike after spike began to fall under my barrage of attacks. Soon this would be a true fight, not a game of hide and seek.
-
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero flipped. around, swerving around a falling rock, then shot out of the cliff like a bullet. Most of the rocks buried themselves in the ground beneath him, like stepping stones. Taking perfect calculation, he aimed a small, straight, flurry of ice spikes at one of the rocks. They rebounded, shooting straight at the underside of Krapfen, while Sub-Zero shot forward, attempting to rake his side with the sharp claws.
-
Perfection, he was out of his hiding spot, but not without covering fire, I dodged most of the spikes, a few hit my arms, doing minute amounts of damage in the process. He was moving faster then I expected so I use Ice storm to slow him down a bit, then began to manoveure to begin forcing him towards the death zone. With some luck this fight would be over before I even had to use my Power Attack. I started to calculate my next three attacks encase this one failed, he might dart for more cover, which would be a big no, no.
-
Sub-Zero
Sum-Zero howled in pleasure, the cold surrounding his body. His fur stood on end, his wings beat faster. He easily switched his claws around and slash into Krapfen's side. (Had permission.) Then bolted out of distance, mourning the loss of the cold. He flew up, then ducked down low by the water, preparing..........
-
How was this possible?! Ice sped him up? Insanity! I decided enough was enough. I charged the air with electric ether once more then fired a huge bolt right where the wolf was heading, I quickly followed it up with smaller ones all around him. I was slowly working on forcing him down the path of no return, speed wouldn't help in in the death zone, it would only hurt you...
-
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero twisted, the largest blasting shooting electrified water in every direction. The water rose high, and Sub-Zero met the last few weaker bolts with ice spikes, before beating his wings. pumping them quickly, the wind around him was launched at the air born, electric charged, water. It flew at Krapfen, water bubbling and crackling with electric, and Sub-Zero used it as cover, flying away, back under the cliff, taking cover.
-
The water stunned me for a moment, and by the time I regained my sense the cowardly dog was no where to be seen, but I had a very good idea where it would be. With out hesitations I threw up an Ether Shield and charged into his hiding spot, firing random ether bolts in ever direction. I needed to lure it out, I needed to take out it's wings. Once those were gone I would be able to quickly finish this fight up.
-
Sub-Zero
Shocked and confused as Krapfen burst in, a bolt caught him square on the chest. His skin burned, the fur gone. With a howl he plummeted to the ground, hitting one o the spikes, still standing up right in the ground. (The big rock stepping stones.) He rolled to the edge, whimpering. Struggling to his feet, he licked his wound. It burnt, but the saliva cooled it down... He howled, struggling on his paws, before shooting into the air. He shot several spikes behind him, and continued flying away....
-
The spikes were poorly aimed, most missed with no effort on my part. The wolf was running again, not this time. I charged multiple attacks and fired them at the injured wolf, I was going to drive it over the edge this time for sure. Most of my attacks were aimed for it's wings, if I could damage those enough he would be much slower, or at least I hoped he would. No telling how fast it was in it's feet...
-
Sub-Zero
He could hear the attack, ripping the air apart. Something was pulling him to an edge, like gravity... Ignoring it all, he tucked in his wins, and plummeted towards the ground. The attacks missed, but an agonized howl ripped from him as hi chest was forced to move suddenly.
Howroo!
Shooting back up his figure was cast out by the suns reflection. He howled loudly, wispy, smoke like ice, gathering around his snout. Once the ball had formed, he tossed it up, catching it on his midnight black wings. The feathers rippled, and began to freeze, but he tucked his left on in, send him, his wing curved to hit Krapfen, plummeting down!
-
It quickly became clear what he intended to do, smash me with his Power Attack. The only course of action was to hit him with my own, my response to his attack was too late for any other actions. I drew in every bit of ether energy in the arena and focused on the wolf, as soon as he came into range I let it go. A huge explosion threw me to the ground and I quickly desyned as a piece of his attack landed on me. Hopefully he suffered the same fate.
Leo:
I opened my eyes and recalled the disk. "Good battle, hopefully you are in a better mood?" I waited for his response, hopefully he was.
-
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero was thrown back, his wings snapping off. His light blue blood fell, hitting the rocks below him, and freezing him. He was impaled on a falling rock as he fell, an desynced.
Tylan
Tylan jerked up, sighing.
Yeah yeah, whatever... I assume you know my name, even though I'm not sure who the hell you are. For manners sake, what is this ladies name?
He stood, quietly looking at a scar that was on his palm. No one noticed, because it was beginning to fade, but it still gave him nightmares...
-
"Yeah, Tylan. Haven't seen you in a quite a while, you just kinda vanished after getting beat that bad. And this is Aurora, big fan of me. Well hope you get in a better mood soon." I hold my hand out for a hand shake "No hard feelings over nearly winning?"
-
Tylan
Tylan shook Leo's hand, allowing a forced smile at Aurora... He was starting to wonder why she didn't speak... He tried to joke out that there was no hard feelings, but he lost control of his voice...
you almost lost to me on your own turf boy, get better.
Tylan's eyes widened, his palms were sweaty, and he hadn't mean to say that... A scream tore through his lips, and he swore, not now, not in this crowd. He turned to run but his knees buckled beneath him, and he fell to the ground at Leo's feet.
Flash backs... (He passed out XD)
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Let me introduce you to two powerful competitors in this years tournament! Warren Renniger, a mysterious competitor, with a strange astral. He remains undefeated, but lets see if this predator can end that streak. TYLAN HAKIMA! Known for the young age of his sync, he has become renowned for his battle skills, coming to one of the last few battles. Can either of these men end Stan Masters in the next round? Lets find out.
The two men stepped into the arena. Tylan looked at Warren, studying him. He looked strange... The storm that raged within Warren's eyes were glued to the ground, but he seemed to be watching Tylan all the same. Both synced at the same time, the blue orbs floating in front of them...
Battle of flashback
They fought in the tilted tree tops. Sub-Zero howled as he weaved between trees. The faint sound of rustling caught his ear, and he turned. He saw a flash, and then felt a slice on his side. Howling as the blood poured out, he turned on his hunches, his wing protesting. He shot several ice spikes blindly, and only saw a blur of silver as they fell to the ground, shattered by the master sword. The defeat was swift, the master sword impaling him, and Link's stoic face above him....
Awake
I WILL KILL YOU WARREN! I WILL FIND YOU!
He jolted to his feet, staring blankly at Leo.
(This all happened in a minute or so. And yeah, Warren beat Tylan that badly...)
-
"Adapt to survive, that is the way I live..."
Tylan looked around, then tried to walk away. He stumbled and fell to the ground. A moment later he snapped back up and stared blankly at me after threatening to kill a Warren. I looked at him then back to Aurora, I nodded my head for her to talk off I would handle this.
"You might want to get out of here, that yell probably atttracted some unwanted attention. I'll take care of them for ya, sounds like you need some breathing room. Sound cool?"
-
Tylan
Tylan vaguely nodded, the scar on his hand burning. He took a small sheet of paper, and scrolled down a number, then handed it to Leo.
Call this when you aren't busy, I owe you an explanation..... And, what I have to say will give you a fighting chance if he is there.........
Look there, it is Tylan Hakima!
Tylan whipped round to spot a girl, and swore before bolting away. With a few crazed fan behind him, he bolted into the hotel, and hoped Leo could take care of the rest.
Daylin
Daylin still slept soundly, cell phone by his ear.
-
I tucked the paper in my pocket before grabbing the crazed fan girl.
"You really think that is Tylan? It's just some rookie who got destroyed by me and is very angry, sore losers. Give him some air."
Then she noticed who I was, time to go I decided. I grabbed Aurora's hand and started to leave while she seemingly passed out from excitment.
"Let's get out of here before that crowd over there notices."
A few moment's later back in my room I was going through the fridge.
"This hotel needs to get better security, and room service... Never anything in here to eat, and too many crazed fans running around to try for the cafeteria. Sometimes I wish I had never gotten into this stuff, everyone is so damn serious... You mind?" Motioned for her to get off of the floor, I intended to do some push ups to calm myself down.
"Leo; you said it yourself, you only do this for fun. Why are you letting some hardcore losers get to you? You are starting to get serious about this, something made it a job for you..."
Whipping around I looked her in the eyes "This is still fun for me, there is nothing more I've ever wanted in my life then to be doing this."
"But something is eating at you isn't it? Oh my..." I looked at the ground, then back at her. I walked to the door and opened it.
"I'll see you tomorrow, good night Aurora."
"Try to have fun, and see you around." She walked out without another word. I got into bed and fell asleep, I quickly synced with Krapfen and began to fly the skies of Bionis, I think tonight I'll check out the Eyrth Sea.
-
No one in the room realized a battle just took place. The air is tense as Jayden smirks at Stan.
Come one, make my day. Show me what you got.
I can't tonight. I have some things to attend to. One thing though, I don't make things up for attention.
Blah, blah, blah, talk all you want. If that's how it's going to be, then I guess I can stretch my muscles elsewhere.
He walks out of the building, while glaring at the whelp Stan was helping, flashing him a very eerie grin.
Glad that's over with...
He turns to the boy.
Sorry about all of that. He tends to be a bit snide about everything.
-
Mikto kept walking back towards the hotel when he realized something...
Wait. if I go now. I'll get scolded for taking too long........... that. and I still havent gotten to battle anyone...
he does a turn around and starts looking for someone to battle.
I hope whoever I fight is a challenge. I mean seriously.
he yawned and continued to look.
[SIINTCA ._.]
-
Warren
He was here, Tylan Hakima was here. The coward was done hiding, and Warren planned to finish what he started. He strolled down the hallway, his hair hanging lightly into his icy blue eyes. With a single hand, he brushed it away, then continued walking. He noticed a boy, and sighed, before brushing him out of his way. (Mikto.)
........
He sighed and continued walking.
-
mikto was walking through and then was brushed out of the way.
Hey hey hey! what was that for?
he followed after the guy.
You know, I was looking for a battle. so I challenge you to a battle in the low gravity zone.
He stood there waiting for a answer.
[SIINTCA}
-
Warren
Warren sighed, tapping his foot and crossing his arms.
.........
He prepared to fight, giving the signal he was prepared. He flipped back his hair, and was ready. He stared, making sure to keep his face partially hidden, so the boy wouldn't recognize him.
-
so your just going to stand there and act all silent? yeesh. you can at least talk or something.
He pulled out the low gravity zone disc, placed it infront of him.. it glowed blue. he then synched like the instructions said too.
creeper appeared in the arena... he waited for his opponent to synch.. he was ready...
Sssss....
[SIINTCA]
-
Warren
Warren closed his eyes, syncing. His mind slipped into Link's and the battle began.
Link
Link stared at Creeper. He was a...strange adversary. He lets his hand slide to the familiar hilt of the master sword, but did not draw it.
............
He waited patiently.
-
creeper stared back.
Ssssss...
creeper continued to stare back..he needed to find out the guys attacking strategies before he did anything.
[SIINTCA]
-
Link
He mentally debated what to do, before removing his hand from the master sword. He slowly pulled the hero's bow off his back, and removed a single pristine arrow. Notching it, he closed one eye and began to aim. With a whispered Hylian word, the tip of the arrow blazed to life, and he fired straight at the abdomen of Creeper.
..............
-
the creeper fired 5 cards at the ground infront of him! he walked forward and detonated the cards. the cards sent him into the air just enough to dodge the arrow! he used teh momentum to get closer to link.
Not as eassssssy asyou thought I would be, am I?
he fired 5 cards at link...
[SINNTCA][Note: the as's would have had longer S's. but because of...reasons. they're not.]
-
Link
Link leaped high into the air, leveling himself out with Creeper. The cards hit the ground, and sent him slightly above Creeper. Quick as a flash he notched two arrows, firing them both at Creeper!
............................
The arrows whistled as they flew.
-
He blew up his right back leg and sent him flying away.
NOPE!
he fired more cards as he flew.
[SIINTCA]
-
Link
In a rustling of movement, the bow had been replaced, the shield gripped with both hands in front of him. The explosions went off like domino's, one after another hitting his shield. The impact slammed him into the ground, and he groaned. He struggled to get up, pulling out his boomerang and throwing it past Creeper, before firing another bout of regular arrows!
.........................................!
-
creeper blew up the front right legg sending him even faster. dodging the arrows!
Even gonna try?
he fired 5 more cards...
[Siintca]
-
Link
Link blocked the first few cards with his shield, grunting as they blew him back, before rolling out of the way of the others. He ripped out his Hero's bow, leaping into the air and firing two arrows. As he whispered the Hylian magic, the tips of the two arrows burst into flames.
....................
The whole time a boomerang whistled around, arcing at the back of Creepers head....
-
creeper was hit by the boomerang, and dazed so he couldn't dodge the two.... and since he was made to explode...... he had to get to link. quick. he blew up his left set of legs at the right angle to send him flying at link.
I MAY GO DOWN. BUT I SURE AM GONNA TRY AND WIN!
he shot exploding cards at link as he flew...
[SIINTCA]
-
Link
The boomerang whistled back around, and Link caught it. He replaced the bow with his shield, blocking several of the cards. At the last second he jumped, sailing high into the air. He assumed this would finish creeper, but fired two regular arrows to be sure...
.............
-
he exploded before teh arrows hit.. and desynched...
mikto forced back into reality, picked up the disk and walked over to warren.
that was a good battle. may I have your name?
he held his hand out for a hand shake.
[SIINTCA]
-
Link
Link landed on the ground, and desynced.
Warren
Warren waved his arm, brushing his bangs away again. His eyes glared through Mikto's soul, before he whispered
Warren Renniger.
And turned to walk away.
-
At the park, two fighters are having a nice conversation. Lurking in the shadows is the hooded figure from earlier. Once the fighters are in range, he throws out a strange object that makes a ring of symbols appear on the ground. An orb appears in the center.
What the heck is that?
An arena, I guess. Let's check it out.
The fighters synch up with the orb, and the figure does the same. The orb turns red, and starts to spark. The two fighters are vampires, but they notice a third opponent, wearing claws, and having strange symbols on its skin.
Defeat me in a battle to show your worth, or pay the ultimate price.
Does he mean death?
No one dies in an astral fight. Let's tag him, he will not be able to handle both of us.
The two rush in on the clawed man, but that was their mistake, with a flurry of swipes, one of the fighters already desynched, and the other didn't even get a chance to react.
Where did he go?
You should never keep you back turned. Flash Bleeder!
With the super move used, the second fighter was out as quick as he jumped in. The two fighters were stunned at how fast they lost. They didn't have a chance to take the arena in. The orb glowed bright, and two arcs of energy struck the two fighters, electrocuting them until they passed out. The orb and the symbols disappeared, and the object returned to the user.
Not them either. The master will not be pleased.
The hooded figure disappears into the night.
-
Sean
Sean calmed down, he was better than that. The strange man in black and red walked away, and the champion turned to him.
It's fine... looks like he was all bark anyway.
He yawned, a bit tired. He hasn't been resting at all lately.
Well, if you don't mind me, I'm gonna go to sleep. I guess I'll see you later.
He started walking away.
Tyler
Tyler walked towards the champion, noticing Sean was walking away.
Well, that was a bit intense~. So your the champion, right? I'm Tyler, and I'll be in the competition as well this year... It's nice to meat you, Stan.
He put out his hand to shake. Some people whispered in the crowd.
Who's that kid? I dunno, maybe he's new? I've never seen him before. Who was the kid walking away from the champion?
-
Noctis looked around at the Low-Gravity arena. This is a place he was not familiar with. Oh well, he opened his wings and tried to launch himself upward, but he didn't go any where.
What the-
He then suddenly remembered something about this arena. He couldn't fly here. Suddenly, a cat-like creature lunged from behind them. He heard the wind rushing as Inazuma came down towards him, so Noctis rolled to the side. His body twitched as the sudden, searing pain of a small lightning bolt slammed into him. He quickly got up. It was going to take more than a little electricity to kill him. He lunged at Inazuma, his fists blazing with fire. Inazuma the jumped high over his head, shooting severall bolts his way. Noctis had just turned around when he was hit by the bolts, knocking him to the ground. He was able to kick his way back to his feet, shooting a wave of firealls at Ina. A few of them hit, and she crached to the ground, kicking up some dust. Noctis didn't wait for her to get up, jumping far across the field. He then heard the buzzing of several bolts coming from behind him, but he couldn't move to dodge. He cursed, as he couldn't change directions. Noctis slamed into the ground as the lightnig ripped into him. Inazuma appeared before him, and shhot him with a large beam of lightning. Noctis desynched, losing the battle.
Jack avoided the gaze of Celine, who had just desynched as well. He stormed out of his room, ignoring whatever she was trying to tell him. He picked up his pizza on the way out and threw it straight in the garbage, disgusted at how badly he had just lost.
-
(Before time change)
Stan shook the hand of the new person.
Nice to meet you as well. I would love to stay and chat, but I must get my rest. Good luck in the tourney.
Stan left the lobby and headed to his room. Something was making him uneasy, but he shrugged it off as the whole Jayden thing. HE found his bed and fell asleep.
(Present)
This is Vangrant City news.
Last night, two astral fighters were found unconscious in the park with sever electrical burns. Authorities are currently investigating the event, but suspect no foul play. The two remain in stable condition in the hospital, but have not yet awakened. Everyone is advised to avoid high voltage areas to prevent any other accidents until this event is resolved.
In other news, Jayden Smith has appeared last night at the Golden Hotel, however, when prompted for an interview on his strange absence for the past five years, he had this to say.
Get lost, don't you vultures have anything better to do with your lives.
Currently there is no news that Smith will be in the tournament that is two days away, but we can suspect great battles from everyone.
This is Kathleen Soronto signing off.
Stan was already awake for the news announcement. The story of the fighters seemed to catch his attention, but he decided to ask his dad later about it. Right now he was getting ready to hit the training room at the stadium, as it would now be open to the public. He left the hotel, and started to walk towards his destination.

Daylin heard no more, vaguely paying attention as he bolted out of the door. As he ran to the training center he caught sight of Stan Masters. Blending into the crowd, he began to follow him.
Tylan
Tylan woke with a scream, his dreams had been haunted by the hero of time.
-
Brendan...
I woke up, still groggy and stiff from falling asleep on the couch. I awoke to see my dad looking at me from across the room.
Oh...'morning.
Heh...'morning. Find yourself a comfy place on the couch there last night?
I wish...
I slowly turned myself upright and turned on the TV.

It took me a moment to process what I had just heard.
Why does that seem...odd?
Hm?
Doesn't it seem odd how they were electrically shocked?
Well, what do you mean?
Well, look. The spots they marked in which they collapsed in are at least seven feet away from a lamp post, and that's the closest electrical object in the area. That seems like a far distance for a bolt of electricity to jump through the air, especially one that knocked both of them unconscious. And if the bolt didn't come from the lamp post, then where did it come from?
Ah, they were probably just harassing an old woman and got tased or something...
Yeah....You're probably right.
I turned back to the TV, realizing I had just missed a bit of what they were talking about.
Currently there is no news that Smith will be in the tournament that is two days away, but we can suspect great battles from everyone.
This is Kathleen Soronto signing off.
The TV went to a commercial break, and I turned it off. I wanted to get in more practice today, so I went to my room, changed into a shirt and hooded vest, had some breakfast, and got ready to leave.
Hey, uh...Brendan?
I stopped just before opening the door.
Yeah?
Keep the hood off, just for today.
I would have argued, but considering the fact that I didn't want to look suspicious after two fighters ended up in the hospital, even if they didn't suspect foul play, I went along with it and took off my hood before leaving. It felt odd, but it was for the best. Once I left the hotel, I noticed that everyone seemed to be heading for the stadium, and I was suddenly reminded that the training room was going to be open today. I started walking in that direction as well, and on my way, I could have sworn I caught a glimpse of the current champion, Stan Masters. I paid it no mind though; Stan was the champion, he probably had a training room of his own.
(Sorry this one is kinda long, I didn't want to make a filler just to make this one shorter.)

Night at the Eryth Sea was always beautiful. Ether condensed in the atmosphere and fell down as falling stars, pure beauty. A stray beam of sun in my world hit my eyes and I was back in my body. My eyes popped open, The Rage was too much for me to handle; I screamed then put a fist sized hole in the wall. As quickly as it came The Tage subsided and I was back to normal, I looked at the wall, then at my fist. It looked to be broken, I needed to fix this up as quickly as I could, no one must know. Twenty minutes later my hand was patched up, the hole was covered up; at least as good as I could do until I got some wall fixing stuff. My story in mind I left my room for breakfast, I was famished from my sync last night.
-
Sean was already awake the next morning, and was grabbing some cereal when the news spoke up.

Sean wlaked to the TV, looking at the bodies in the picture.
Huh, that sort of reminds me of.... ... Nah, I shouldn't think about that...
Sean got to quickly eat his breakfast, made sure he had everything, and was about to leave his apartment when the news continued.

Sean turned the TV off. So his name was Jayden Smith. He smiled, this year seems interesting. He remembered what he was doing, and walked out of the apartment room, locked the door, and made his way to the elevator. He'll train a bit at the stadium today, and maybe he'll find that Smith guy from last night and teach him some manners.
Tyler
Last night.
Tyler smiled and waved goodbye. He felt it. This guy had allot of power, maybe even more than he had. He smiled and walked off, excited about battling him.
Present.
He woke up drowsy in the lobby. And got up, remembering last night. He walked outside, wanting some fresh air, and stretched. It wasn't comfortable in the lobby, but since he usually sleeps in trees, this was a luxury for him. He looked around for someone strong, or weird looking. It's usually the weird people that are strong.
-
Stan was at the stadium. There were workers at the main stage finishing up for the tournament. He went down the hall towards the training room. Inside was a a large amount of weights, a few treadmills, and a series of pull up bars. Towards the back were battle zones so fighters can polish off their skills in between workouts.
Like dad said, train the body as much as your mind. Better get started.
Stan limbered up and got on a treadmill to begin a short run.
Meanwhile, outside the arena, two people in hoods were standing on the roof of the stadium. They noticed the champ, but were too late to launch an attack. They decided to wait until he came out.
(Note: No one should see the people on the roof. This is going to kick start an event.)
-
Daylin
He had lost the champion in the crowd, and it felt like someone was staring at him. He ignored it, and walked into the gym, it had been a while... He grabbed a bar hanging down, and began to do pull ups.
Tylan and Warren
Tylan sighed as he walked into the training room, ignoring his brother as he stressed himself out. He needn't be so strong physically, just in shape. He laid on a bench press, mounting a few weights on it, beginning to lift it. He did this for a while, when a voice croaky, but coaxing, dangerous, and straight from his nightmares shocked him.
We meet again, my elusive friend....
Tylan reacted as expected. He dropped the weight, managing to roll out of its way. He drew back his lips in disgust at Warren, but his hands trembled slightly.
We aren't friends... At least not now, not after... LEAVE!
Tylan pointed at the entrance, but warren smiled calmly.
Battle me, if you win, I'll leave... But if I win, you know the consequences...
Tylan ignorantly took the challenge, and the two synced in the area provided. Needless to say, he lost... Tears streamed down his face, and the scars on his arms came to mind, as Warren dragged him out of the stadium, into a dark alley, and pulled a knife...
-
Once in the stadium, I followed the crowd down a hallway and into the training room. The room was rather large, with weights, treadmills, pull up bars, and a resting slash battle area in the back. I wasn't the kind of person who worked out, so instead, I walked to the back of the room towards the resting area and sat down on one of the chairs, waiting for a battle to find me. I was still a little tired, so I sat back with my eyes closed.
-
Sean was walking towards the stadium, in a bit of a good mood. Then he noticed he was being followed by his brother. He turned around and looked at him with a bit of a glare.
Why are you following me?
Tyler looked at him a bit innocently.
Oh, you know, just going to the Arena to train... I just caught word of it~!
Alright, what's the real reason? You and I both know that charade doesn't work on me, brother.
Suddenly his innocent look disappeared, and he exchanged the glare.
Hmph, fine. I heard that the champion was on his way here. I wanted to see how I fair with him before the tournament begins to see what I'm up against.
Sean laughed a little, and Tyler's expression became a bit darker.
Good luck. Just because your in the tourney doesn't mean you can battle him freely. And besides, I doubt he'd accept your little challenge.
Tyler chuckled darkly, and Sean lost his smug expression.
Don't forget who your talking to, little brother... Well, I'm off~!
His expression changed to his happy innocent one, and he walked away carelessly. Sean stood there, a bit shocked with fear. He walked to the Arena, not knowing what his chances are anymore.
__
They both walked into the training room, Sean not interacting with Tyler and going for the weights, while Tyler noticed someone sitting at the resting area, and walked to him. He waved, noticing the kids eyes were closed.
Hiya!
-
(*Kid...He's like 16 or so.)
Hiya!
I opened one eye, looking over at the source of the voice.
(There's a reason he has weird Android antenae things...but not for this RP. Pretend they aren't there.)
Um...Hi?
The guy I was talking to looked a little happy-go-lucky...but if he was looking to battle, then I wouldn't be one to refuse a challenge.
I don't suppose you approached me for a battle.
-
Tyler
Tyler nodded, a bit anxious.
Yeah, i was hoping to battle someone here, and you look pretty strong! So what do you say, wanna battle?
Tyler gave a smile, hoping he'd say yes.
-
I stood up from my chair.
Sure, sounds fun. I'll let you pick the arena.
I stepped aside so he could pick an arena at one of the stations.
-
Tyler
He got into position and thought for a moment. He smiled.
How about... Mist Valley.
The mark on his chest glowed and turned into a sphere that floated in front of him. He synced.
Ragnarok
A small ball of light appeared on the field, and suddenly it shined brightly, and in it's place, a knight appeared, balancing his large sword onto his shoulder.
So... who is my opponent?
-
I synced to the orb, and found myself in a barren valley full of dense mist. It was hard to see anything around me, but I was able to briefly see a bright light through the fog before it faded away.
Ten bucks says thats him...
I flew quickly towards where I had seen the light emitting from, and upon finally seeing my opponent, brought my foot in front of me, aiming to kick him square in the face.
-
Ragnarok heard his opponent flying at him in high speeds, and blocked the kick with his sword, in a position where the tip of the blade is down.
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know we were starting right away. Allow me.
He stuck his blade into the ground, and in one quick motion, he spun on the handle and quickly kicked towards his opponents side.
-
(Surprised no one has noticed the champ on the treadmill in the room.)
Stan noticed the quick battle, and decided to follow the two out of the arena. He sensed a strong energy coming from the taunting one. When he got to the alley, he noticed the winner pull out a knife. Without a second thought, he ran up on the man and grabbed the hand with the knife in it, grabbed the back of his neck, and slammed him into the ground, a move he learned from his father. He called to the other kid.
You there, call the cops! I can hold this one.
The two men on the roof seen the champ.
1-Should I deploy?
2-No, there are too many witnesses. Let's see where this goes first.
1-Yes, let's wait.
-
Last night
I curled down on one of the couches in the lobby and dozed off, my mind was to tired to do much else.
Present
I awoke with a large yawn, my eyes could only half open, I looked at the clock in the lobby and it was late.
me-I overslept!
I scrambled off the couch and ran out the door. I need to train today, there isn't much time left. I guess I did need the rest, I was exhausted. I stopped running, where am I going to go. I could go check out the arena, no doubt there will be lots of people there. I could check out the Fighters Academy, maybe I could learn a thing or two. I decided to quickly check out the arena. I set off running towards the arena.
-
The gym had too many people in it, no way I was going in there. I turned and started walking towards the front door, it was a bit cloudy out, but not enough to keep a person inside. The park sounded like a good place to calm my over taxed nerves. Taking extra care to cover my mark up I left for the park without so much as a word being uttered.
-
Tylan and Warren
Tylan stood, his hands uncharacteristically shaking. He slowly tried to speak, failing.
S-Stan, let him up... He won, and no matter what he did, I cannot turn in a friend...
He shaking picked up the knife, placing it beside Warren on the ground. He admired it, wondering how something so...cool! Could be so vicious. The handle was slick, glass like and shining, and a silver owl spouted from the bottom. The blade was short, jagged and gleaming in the alley lights. He felt like something was above him, but ignored it. THen he spoke more firmly.
Let him up.
-
Stan was a bit confused.
Let him up!? He pulls a knife on you, and you want me to let him up? Whatever he was going to do, you do not have to put up with it.
One of the men on the roof got impatient.
2-I'm tired of waiting, this is probably going to turn into a sappy moment.
1-Very well, toss the Todon.
A red sphere was dropped by the champ and the thug he apprehended. A circle of symbols appeared on the ground, and an orb was summoned. Stan, not realizing where it came from, looked to the thug.
This is not the time for battle.
2-He's not taking the bait. He's in the circle, force the synch!
1-And so is his captive. You realize that they both will be in the battle, and I will not be able to aid you.
2-So be it, the claw trooper can handle both of them with ease.
The first man drew a symbol on his hand, and infused it with astral energy.
1-Jedark Thirku!
The symbols on the ground began to glow a crimson red, and Stan felt himself synch with the orb. He awakened as Ripfang in what looked like a giant dome with a marble floor.
-
Warren and Tylan
as something fell from the roof, Tylan leaped back. The ground in front of him began to glow, and he watched as the bleeding Warren was forced to sync.
Link
Link watched calmly. He saw a werewolf beside him, and his instincts kicked in. He leaped back, ripping the gale boomerang free from his side. A small, tornado began to swirl around the boomerang, and he prepared to launch it at Ripfang.
Hyaa!
The boomerang left his hand, whirling like a small tornado as it flew towards Ripfang. He could see a man with claws in the distance, but he saw Ripfang is more of the menace. In his eyes, Ripfang was a creature of Twilight.
-
My foot hit his blade as he brought it forward to block.
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know we were starting right away. Allow me.
He stuck his sword in the ground and swung his body around the sword's handle, ready to kick me. I quickly brought up my arm and blocked with my forearm. I felt the shock go through me from his kick, but it wasn't anywhere near enough to do considerable damage to me. I quickly grabbed his leg and flung him over me, slamming him into the ground.
Not bad...If I wasn't so resilient, that would have done some damage...
(I think that's not Gmoding...let me know.)
-
The attack hit, but it didn't do much damage, and I ended up getting slammed. I quickly recovered, jumping onto my feet, and jumping over my opponent to the top of my sword, hand on handle, showing almost perfect balance.
Impressive, Not many people have been able to throw me before. I'll have to be more careful.
In one quick motion, I fell behind the sword, and landed on my feet, yanking the sword out of the ground and got into a fighting stance. I focused on my opponent, looking to see what would happen next.
(Hope this isn't OP either)
-
The armored figure simply stood in front of me, waiting for my next move. I contemplated my attack, then jumped into the air and flapped my wings. Doing so released a flurry of the metal discs and flung me back into the mist where I couldn't be seen. I then flew into the air where I couldn't be seen. Aiming for the spot in which we encountered, I fired 4 homing rockets at him.
Hm...How do you react in this situation?
-
Celine's feet dug into the ground as she ran through the city. Where had Jack gone? She suddenly stopped. She knew where he would be. Back in the park, Celine saw Jack, who was synched and battling someone else. She was about to spectate, but the synch ended. There was a third guy there, but he ran off with his friend. When Jack saw Celine he turned and quickly tried to walk away, but Celine stopped him, grabbing her cousin's arm.
What has gotten into you all of a sudden!?
Jacked yanked his arm free and continued walking.
Just leave me alone.
Celine ran around in front of Jack and slapped him across the face.
What the hell!?
No, shut up. If anyone should be saying that, it should be me. You think just because you lost to your cousin means you can act like a total douche?
Jack plopped himself on the ground, placing his head in his hands.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean too..I just...why can't I win against people like you? I just beat three kids in a row, but I lost twice yesterday!
It's because you're not using your head. You fight just like your father, rash and cockily. Look, how about we take a walk, and try to fix your battle strategy?
-
I held up my sword and blocked the disks, but then he fired missiles at me.I decided to test if they homed or not. I ran to the left, and all four of the missiles followed. I quickly turned and stuck my sword into the ground, and ducked, holding it like a sheild. The first two hit and pushed him back a bit, then the last two hit and launched him a few feet backwards. He got up, and took his sword out of the ground... which moved a few feet back from it's last position. I took a bit of damage, but i wanted to see what he was capable of before attacking so he doesn't surprise me.
Is that the best you could do?
I heard him somewhere above the field, but I couldn't tell where.
-
I reached the park and sat down, across the way two people were talking a bit angrily from the tone of their voices. I paid them no attention and looked at the sky. Despite the clouds it was a beautiful day, a stray sun beam hit my face; I almost let myself fall asleep right there. "Not here, not now Krapfen, later." I opened my eyes, made sure no one was looking at me, then closed them again, I just let the occasional sun light warm my face.
-
Is that the best you could do?
After he said this, I had an exact location on him. I flew towards the spot the sound came from, landed right in front of him, and went for a low sweep. I jumped backwards, and fired 3 more rockets at him.
-
I heard him coming, and jumped in time to dodge his kick; and then he flew back to fire some missiles at me. I immediatly blocked them by using the same tactic. Instead of speaking, I jumped back into the mist, keeping as quiet as possible. I circled around him, wondering how he'll attack.
I'll end this soon... I just want to gather one more bit of data from his attacks.
-
Warren and Tylan
as something fell from the roof, Tylan leaped back.
On the outside, the orb turned red, and acted violently, ensuring that no one else could watch. While his partner was synched, the man who forced the battle kept the symbol going strong, preventing anyone from escaping.
Inside the arena, Ripfang heard a whirlwind coming at him, and being caught off guard, was struck in the face with the boomerang. Before it could return to its master, he grabbed onto it, and tried to ask what is going on, but only a low growl was audible. The claw trooper stepped forward.
Well, isn't this an interesting start. You attack your comrade so easily. Unless, he is not your comrade at all.
The claw trooper charged at Ripfang, forcing him to release the boomerang, which went back to its original holder. Ripfang was able to grab onto the wrists of his attacker, but he was struggling to hold his ground, making him an open target for the hylian.
-
Link
Leaping into the air, he snatched the bomerang up, and clipped it to his belt. He drew his Hero's bow, notching a single arrow. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he would take them both out to be safe. The tip of the arrow blazed to life, and he lined it up with the two. They struggled for power, and Link shot off a single arrow at the claw troopers head. Then notching another, he lit it, and launched it at Ripfang.
-
The claw trooper kicked Ripfang, launching both of them back, and the arrows flew between them.
Wrong choice. Blitz Claw!
He closed the gap between himself and the hylian almost instantly, and gave him a sick smile before letting loose a flurry of swipes at the hylian. Ripfang knew that if he was going to win this, he would have to get rid of both of them, so he let loose a series of howl bursts at both of his attackers. He ran behind them to use as cover to get a close up attack, hopefully on one of them.
-
Link
Years of battle allowed him to see the Claw trooper shift to charge, and his bow was replaced by sword and shield. He deflected several of the slashes, winded by the insane power behind them. Tossing his weapons into the air, he performed a flip backwards, the last slice shredding the front of his garb. Panting, he could do nothing as a howl tore into him, cutting him and throwing him back against a wall. His weapons clattered to the ground beside him, and pulling himself up, he staunched the bleeding on his chest, and charged at RipFang! He drew back the master sword, slashing at him in a complex series of weaving and dodging.
-
Ripfang was trying to dodge each swipe of the sword, but they were coming in too fast. He took a hit on his side, and the pain felt real. Never in an astral fight did he, or anyone he knew, fell this much pain, maybe a minor cringe. He clutched his side and fell too his knees, trying to call for mercy, but a pained howl came out. The claw trooper took the opportunity to take care of the hylian while his back was turned, using blitz claw to get behind him, and take a stab at the elf's head.
-
Link
His gut was telling him to move, and he always listened to his gut. He leaped to the side, and something plunged into his back. Coming out of the front of his shoulder. The claw was covered in blood, slightly darker than the average humans. Link pulled himself off, gasping for breath, and dropping his shield. The pain all felt too real. Regardless, he planted his sword in the ground, and the gale boomerang flew past the side of the Claw trooper. with clumsy steps, Link ripped his sword free, and performed the best set of combos he could with one injured side gushing blood. Slowly ducking, weaving, and carving the air.
-
Is the little elf mad? Did I give you a boo-boo?
The claw trooper dodged each hit perfectly, without losing his place. With every slash, he seen the pain seep into both fighters.
Well, time to put you both out of your misery. Flash Bleeder!
His claws lit up, and with three quick swipes, he turned the air razor sharp, hitting both fighters. Ripfang was sliced into three pieces before desynching. The boomerang seemed to get caught within the slashes, becoming sliced in mid air.
-
Link
Link gasped as he was sliced, his reflexes throwing his sword at the Claw trooper. It slowly dissolved before hitting him and Link desynced.
Warren, Daylin and Tylan
The orb shot out electricity, and Tylan barely leaped away. Warren's body shook as electricity pulsed through it. He fell to the ground, smoking and bleeding. Tylan stood wide eyed, before catching a glimpse of Daylin.
Daylin, get over here.
In a flash of red hair Daylin was there, still sweaty from the gym. Tylan held a no nonsense look. Taking off his shirt, Tylan covered his arms with it, and lifted up Warren, gritting his teeth as the electricity still took its toll on him. He nodded for Daylin to check on Stan, and see what was up, before running as fast as he could, carrying Warren. He was headed for the arena, that was the only place he could think of.
-
Stan was outside the orb, and in an instant he and his opponent were being shocked by a strange arc of red electricity.
AAHHHHHH!
He rolled over on his side, and the orb stopped glowing, floating skyward. Stan tried to reach for it, but the damage was done, he slipped out of consciousness. His body lay limp, but he was still breathing.
The men on the roof retrieved their sphere.
1-Well, did you have your fun?
2-Not as much as I would like. They started to bore me after a bit. Guess neither of them are the one master is looking for.
1-No. One of them seems to prove valuable, I can see it. He is definitely the one we need for the ritual.
2-Whatever you say. Let's get out of here. I'm in the mood for something strong to drink.
The two men leave without a trace.
-
Tylan
Tylan slid into the arena, screaming at the tops of his lungs
HELP!
He glanced around feverishly, needing an answer. His best friend was in danger.
Daylin
Daylin watched as the man many considered invulnerable fell. He shook his head, now was not the time. He scooped him up, ignoring the electric shocks, and ran straight for the arena. He made it there quickly. Standing beside his brother he awaited help. He was deadly calm.
-
A group of people were heading to the source of the screaming. When they seen the champ and another man out cold, they immediately called for the ambulance. When it arrived, the medics carefully took the two and set them up in stretchers.
We're going to need you guys to come with us. We need to know what happened so they can be treated.
One of the medics called for the police to meet them at the hospital, as she seemed suspicious about what happened.
-
Tylan and Daylin
Tylan immediately stepped into the ambulance, but Daylin stood firm.
Come on.
Daylin shook his head, he was still too calm.
I am finding those bastards.
Tylan swore.
Now is not the time. You stand no chance, after we deal with this. I will come with you. We will find them.
Daylin reluctantly got in.
-
Jack and Celine
I think I get it now, I just really need to think more, and adapt to my oponent.
Jack and Celine were walking through the park, discussing Jack's battle strategies and techniques.
Well, sort of. It's more complicated than that, but it seems you pretty much understand what you need to do. You just need to put it in action.
Suddenly, a shriek ran out throgh the park. Jack immediately ran towards the source of the sound, and Celine chased after him. Several people were gathered around a red light. When they got closer, Jack and Celine noticed thatt itt was actually an orb. There was a strange man battling the last opponent Jack had fought in the park. Jack and Celine spectate synched, and they saw this:
A clawed man stood over the monster Bowser, which was the guy Jack had fought's astral.
Bowser tried to make his way to his feet, bu t the clawed man just pushed him back down.
With a slash the clawed man ended the battle. Jack and Celine desynched, and they witnessed the guy who had Bowser being shocked to the point of unconsciousness by the red orb. Celine pulled on Jack's arm.
We have to get out of here, now!
Jack just stood there.
We have to stop him!
Jack!
Celine yanked on Jack's arm even harder.
We can't stop him right now! He's too strong for us at this point!
Something in Celine's voice caught Jack's attention, and they fled.
-
The sounds of a commotion woke me from my nap, some sort of fight was going on. I was going to leave when I noticed that they weren't using the disks to sync, instead a red ball was in use. In my curiosity I walked up to it; attempting to spectate sync, but the orb was acting strangely, denying me any access to the fight. I pulled out my notebook and took down everything I could see that was strange about the situation.
"This fight is protected from spectation by some strange force in the sync method. the method is one I haven't seen yet, a strange glowing orb that seems to be full of electrical energy. A strange cloaked person seems to be in charge of the orb device..."

before teh time change
Mikto was sitting there.. contemplating...
Go back to the hotel. and get scolded. or no sleep..
He sat outside for a few minutes then walked inside the hotel.
Time to bite the bullet and get some sleep.
He took the elevator up to his family's room on floor [floor number. here.]. he walked in his room with a excuse, and then realized. All the lights are off. his family was asleep.
Good. their asleep..
He went to bed and hoped to wake up before his parents..
after the time change
He woke up, luckily before his parents, he changed clothing and started to walk out the door. He then heard his parents start to stir. He ran out the door, slammed said door, and continued running. He took the stairs this time, and a few minutes later, arrived at the 1st floor. He as fast as he could ran out the door and as far away as possible. As he was running..he noticed a ambulance. He walked so he could see whats happening, he didn't really see anything that caught his eye, except 2 people standing outside of it, both with weird colored hair. Being the idiot he is he decided to make a snide remark.
Red hair and blue hair? what are you, circus performer?
[SIINTCA]
-
Sean
I was lifting a weight when someone yelled something. A bit agitated, I stopped lifting, put the weight up, and ran outside to see what was going on. He was just in time to see Stan and whoeverthatwas get into an ambulance car, seemingly unconscious.
What the...?
I looked around for a familiar face to ask whats going on, and I recognised the steak, and that guy from the stairs.
What the hell is going on? Why is Stan unconscious?
He noticed a snotty kid, but ignored him, waiting for an answer.
-
Tylan and Daylin
Tylan stilled his demeanor, looking at the young child who had insulted them.
circus freaks who scored 4th and 3rd in tournaments, can you say the same?
His mind roared with concern, and even though his face held a stoic look, his misty white eyes gave it all away. Daylin glanced over, and knew he needed to talk to slither boy.
None of your business snake boy, it isn't Stan.
And with that, Daylin slammed the door shut, concealing Tylan and himself, and the injured ones, from view.
-
Before I could respond, they shut the door on me, ending the conversation. I gritted my teeth, and clenched my fists, not Stan, sure, like I wouldn't recognise him after seeing him in every magazine, news report, and meeting him in real life. I walked away, trying to calm down, not being very successful at it.
Snake boy... everytime I see that guy... It just pisses me off!
I walked out of the crowd, and walked the long way towards the hotel, through the park. I was having a hard time hiding my anger, so I put my hood over my head, thinking.
It's not like I want to be a snake... why did I have to get the snake? Why me? Why did it choose me?! WHY?!
I kicked a can , and sat down on a bench, trying to zone out.
After I win this tournament... everyone will respect me... and stop calling me a freaking snake....
-
he watched as they slammed the doors.
Heh, I couldn't make that if I tried.. I lost round 1, but who cares? they still look like circus freaks.
He looked around, someone thought stan, the champion, was in the ambulance... He watched as the guy who said that stormed out of the crowd and away... Looks like mikto wasn't the only one to skip coffee. Mikto followed the guy, the guy pulled a hood over his head and kicked a can, he must have been thinking something over.. The guy then sat down on a bench. Mikto followed him, and then sat down beside him.
So. You must be in a bad mood this morning too, eh? Must have skipped coffee too. Whats your name?
Mikto was hoping to either. A.) unlikely, but make a friend. or B.) Get to spar with someone.
[SIINTCA]
-
I turned my head to see the same boy who called those two jerks circus freaks. At first, I tried ignoring him, but then I sighed, maybe it was about time I actually tried being nice.
... It's Sean... And it's not that... I'm just... *sigh* confused.
-
mikto smiled a bit.
My names Mikto, nice to meet you Sean. any way I can help? I really don't have anything to do. soo...
He was acting weird. he was...nice..
Also, You here for the tournament too? Just curious.
mikto. what are you doing. YOUR DEFYING THE LAWS OF WRITING. YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO BE NICE.
[SIINTCA]
-
I smiled a bit too. Maybe this time will be different.
Nice to meet you too, Mikto.... Nah, I'm fine, just... stressed I guess.
I took the hood off, feeling a bit better.
Yeah, I also entered last year, made fifth place in fact... wait, you look familiar... haven't I seen you before?
I took a thinking pose, tryign to remember him.
-
Mikto chuckled.
You shouldn't have. I lost round 1.
He yawned.
Would battling get you in a better mood?
[Mikto. your defying the writer. why are you being nice. your not nice. stoppit.]
[SIINTCA]
-
I smiled and got up, taking out a seal.
Alright, you're on. Don't expect me to pull any punches. Also, I wanna test this field i made if thats ok with you.
I tossed the seal, and it turned into an orb.
Ready when you are.
I synched with Venom, my astral landing on a cube.
-
Mikto smiled.
Sounds good.
He synched in..
Creeper
He looked around.. it was like a maze of sorts... He doesn't like mazes.
Guesssssss I'll ussssse the normal Sssstratagy....
He just sat there. Waiting for his opponent to come at him.

Tylan and Daylin
You need to quit being a snob.
Daylin looked up from the cold metal floors of the ambulance. They had sat in awkward silence, Tylan controlling his emotions, and Daylin seething with anger.
That boy is a snake! He deserve every horrible dam-
Tylan was across the small clearing between them in a flash. He skillfully weaved past the medic, who was monitoring Warren and Stan. Daylin's felt a tight grip around his throat, and his head was whipped back into the metal wall behind him. It was an awkward position for them all, with the tight spaces of the ambulance. Tylan's knuckles were white. and in a flash he kicked open the back door of the ambulance, and hurled Daylin out of it. Leaving behind a stunned medic, he leaped right behind him. Daylin struggled to get up, but Tylan had him pinned, a foot planted on his chest forcefully.
Don't you ever say someone deserves treatment like that! That boy has a snake for an astral? So what?! Would you like it if you were judged because your astral is a lumbering bull?! But you wouldn't know how it feels, growing up with our, 'parents'! They spoiled you! I grew up in that orphanage, saw what it was really like. Why? Because they feared me. I was a prodigy, and they feared it!
Daylin could say nothing, the force Tylan was putting on his chest slowly increasing. He began to struggle for breath.
What about you? walking around with those scars on your body! You can't even tell your own damn brother what they are from. But I know, I have always known! They are from Warren... The man you consider a best friend.. He has problems Tylan! And yet you walk around, hiding the scars with make up, and sleeves. Don't lecture me about kindness, when your own friend doesn't spare you any, and you say nothing!
The force was lifted from his chest in an instant. And Tylan strode a pace away, and stopped. A crowd had gathered around them, watching the argument between the brothers. Daylin was sure this would make the tabloids, but he couldn't care less. He scrambled to his feet. The anger Daylin was famous for reared up, and he raised his fist to strike Tylan. Before he could even move, a powerful fist slammed into his temple. Pain roared through his veins, hotter than a thousand suns, and he clutched at his bleeding forehead. Daylin looked up and saw Tylan, his white eyes void of emotion, his face set in a stoic expression. His arm was extended from the blow he had just delivered. As Daylin supported himself against the outside wall of the arena, Tylan spoke a single, cold word.
Leave.
and with that he leaped back into the back of the ambulance, his mind a worse mess then before. Daylin stumbled blindly, and a fan rushed to his aid. She dragged him away while the other fans and reporters stood shocked. He felt dizzy as he was supported against something, and she began addressing his wound. Then, he passed out
(A random, kind fan. This person will not appear again. Also, they were outside the arena, not inside the building.)
-
Is that the best you could do?
I flew above where the voice came from, and was able to pick him out from the cloud of mist. I stopped flying, and reverse-bicycle kicked him from above.
If the best I could do was attack you from afar with missiles, I wouldn't be competing.
-
Ragnarok
I didn't even look up when he spoke, and brought my sword up to block him from above, but messed up and ended up getting kicked in the back. I took the pain, and decided to end this. He was starting to bore me.
... *sigh* No good, I thought you'd be tougher than the people back at home...
He jumped away a few feet, turning to the robot, and pointing his sword at the air, then towards him.
... I believe we're done here.
Suddenly, both his armor and sword starting emitting a bright light, and he started firing balls of light at the Android. (They explode with the power of light, BTW)
15 seconds.
Venom
He silently slithered through the maze-like terrain, managing his way past the moving blocks, and caught sight of his opponent. He decided to use strategy this time, and slowly started slithering towards him, using the blocks as cover so he wouldn't be seen easily.
Let's see if he can detect me...
-
creeper just stood motionless. He was thinking.
What would I do if I was battling ssssssomeone in a maze... either ssssssneak up or wait for them to come at me. Going to need to be prepared for both.
He slowly started walking forward in the maze, and started saying something, hoping that they wouldn't know that he's bluffing...
Hey! I know your there! you can come out now and face me like a real man-err....astral.
[SIINTCA]
-
I ignored the bluff, mostly because he was walking the opposite direction of me. I was about to strike at him, but then I lost my balance when the block I was on suddenly moved to the right. Regaining composition and thinking fast, I leaped at him, claws stretched in front of me, hoping to poison him.
HSSSSSSSSS!
-
Creeper was hit and knocked forward, and poisoned. he turned around
Thatsssss a very nice everything you have there. would be a sssshame if ssssomethign wasss to happen to it...
he quickly fired 5 cards at the snake and walked forward. the poison taking a bit out of him whith each step....
work work work work..
[SIINTCA]
-
Not sure what the cards did, but I didn't want to find out, so I leaped out of the way, but when they impacted the ground, I ended up getting launched a few feet from the impact of the explosion. Regaining composure, I quickly slithered into the maze, wanting him to lose track of me so I could attack again.
Let's see if he can find me before I find him...

Daylin
Daylin flashed a fake smile at the fan who had helped him, before pressing the ice pack to his head, and walking away. He couldn't believe Tylan had done that! They had fought many times before, but never had it come to blows. He knew the minute the jab at Warren had left his mouth, he had gone too far. Tylan had grown up in an orphanage, and Daylin hadn't even known of his existence until eight years ago. When he found out about Tylan, it was when his resentment for his parents began. He had met with Tylan ever day since, and over time had caught glimpses of the scars that riddled his brothers body under the long sleeves, and make up. He met Warren soon after meeting Tylan, and began to dig up information. After some time, Daylin had found out what was going on, but was powerless to stop it. Warren had been hurting Tylan, and Tylan did nothing... Tylan's painful screams as the knife was dragged across his skin still haunted Daylin.
What the....
Daylin glanced up, he was at the park. He must have tuned out and ended up here. He spotted several astral fighters, and challenged them to a fight. He needed to blow off steam.
Garlock
He watched as two snake like beings surrounded him. Snakes.... the haunted look in Tylan's eyes as he punched Daylin ripped across his mind, and the snakes took advantage of the distraction. They lunged forward, digging their sharps fangs into the thick hide of Garlock. With a feral bellow, he ripped one off, snapping its neck and instantly desyncing it. He grabbed his totem, and threw the other one off, before smashing its head in. Two were out, three to go, but the poison had taken its toll... The last three were something called pokemon, whatever that was. One was a large orange dragon, with a tail that held a burning flame. It breathed a large bolt of fire, but Garlock smashed the fire with his totem. No sooner had the dragon taken to the air, that Garlock threw his ax. Spiraling tip over shaft, it dug deep into the dragon's snout. The dragon fell, and slowly disappeared, Garlock retrieving his ax. The next one, a Salamence, was dispatched similarly. Then, a muscle bound pokemon with four arms appeared. Machamp. Garlock bellowed, and charged. He was met with a thunderous blow to the face, and another to the stomach. Falling back, he prepared to charge again, but collapsed. The poison had taken its toll. The Machamp yelled, and the tauren felt a crashing blow to the back, before it was all over...
Daylin
Daylin begrudgingly congratulated the winner, before storming away. He had taken more opponents on than that at once, and won. What was wrong? Was he losing his touch.......?

The ambulances left for the nearest hospital. It didn't take long for them to get there. The paramedics rushed both of the fighters to separate rooms. A police officer approached the witness.
I need you to come with me. Just going to ask a few questions.
He motioned towards his squad car.
Meanwhile, the attackers who took down the champ went to see their master.
Master Shroud, we found him. The one who will complete your plans.
Jayden turned around in a very sinister looking chair, seeming particularly pleased.
Excellent. Keep a close eye on our little helper. We go through with our plan tonight.
Sir, there is one problem. We may have had a witness, and authorities might have been alerted.
You leave that to me. I have a connection that will help this run smoothly as possible. Just do as I ordered!
The two left. Jayden pulled out his cell.
It's time. Make a good enough report to get everyone away from the hospitals... Yes, all of the hospitals.
-
Tylan
Tylan glanced at the officer, then to the squad car.
Fine.
Tylan sat down in the car, and not caring there was a cop beside him, didn't buckle his seat.
Lets go.
Warren
(Dream/flashback)
Tylan hollered triumphantly, slamming his cards down on the table.
Full house, I win! You definitely can't beat that!
Warren held several cards, and his face held no sign of satisfaction as he placed them on the table.
I win. Royal flush!
Warren chuckled and smiled at Tylan's shocked face. Then picked up the deck.
'Nother game?
Tylan nodded.
I'll get you this time.
The cards were dealt, and laughter rang until the early hours of dawn as the two played poker.
Ready to crash?
Warren never received an answer for that question. Tylan was sprawled out on the floor snoring. warren chuckled at his room mate, before the fourteen year old blonde turned towards his bunk. They had shared this same room since Tylan was left at the orphanage. Warren yawned, raising a hand to cover his mouth as he stretched his arms behind his head. He suddenly fell, his foot catching on a shirt, thrown carelessly on the floor, and his head hit the railing. He closed is eyes, expecting pain, but pleasure racked his whole body. He lifted himself off the floor, wondering what happened. Raising his hand to his head, he felt blood, but it didn't hurt...it felt good...
Are you alright?!
And as Tylan rushed to help, Warren's addiction to pain began.
-
Alright, start from the beginning. Why were you and another person carrying an unconscious Stan Masters and Warren? It seems pretty suspicious.
The cop pulled out a pad and paper to take notes for his report.
-
Tylan
Tylan glared at him hatefully.
I like how you say Stan Masters and 'Warren'.
His words were laced heavily with anger, and he hated how the man said Warren, with such...
indifference. Tylan began to check off events on his fingers as he spoke.
Warren and I were in an alley, meeting to catch up. We were talking in an alley, when Warren went to show me the knife he recently purchased, Stan tackled him. As I told him to get off, a red orb fell from the sky. On instinct, I leaped back. I looked at them, and they had been forced into a battle. The wounds they seemed to take looked real, and when they lost, they were electrocuted. I have no idea why. I rushed them here, and now we talk. Any questions?
Tylan waited patiently. He left out his brother, and anything that would make the man suspicious of Warren. And he was a damn good liar.
-
... *sigh* No good, I thought you'd be tougher than the people back at home...
He jumped away from me, and pointed his sword skyward. Then, pointing it at me, he began to give off a bright light.
... I believe we're done here.
It became clear he was using his super move. Since most astral fighters become weak after using one, I assumed he was no different. If I could avoid his attack until it was over, I might have a chance.
Are we really?
The orbs of light came flying towards me, and I dodged like I never had before. Dodging from the seemingly endless onslaught of fireballs, weaving through attacks that seemed sure to hit, jumping from explosions before they managed to burn me to a crisp. Ducking, Dodging, weaving, avoiding nearly every attack in sight, with the exception of a few burns here and there. All the while, moving ever closer to the armored foe. As I slowly inched forward, avoiding the fireballs became more precarious. I came too close, and a fireball hit me head on, followed by the rest of the onslaught. It created a giant smoke cloud around me, hiding me from my opponent's view. I waited a few seconds, and then said...
You know, I may not be the strongest fighter...
I suddenly jettisoned forward, out of the cloud of smoke towards my armor-clad opponent. Machinery and electronics were exposed, chunks of metal had fallen from my body, an entire spike from atop my head had fallen off and there were burn marks all over my metallic shell. If this last resort failed me, one mere attack would have caused me to desync.
...but I can make one hell of a strategy!
From what seemed like mere inches from him, I brought my arm forward, which had already transformed into a cannon and had begun charging while in the smoke. Quickly bringing my arm forward, I fired the cannon from close range, simply hoping that I still had a chance...
-
Ssssure....Be a coward and run...don't finisssssh your fight like you sssshould...
I tried to follow him, but quickly lost track...
Now thissss, it wont be as eassssy to ssssurprisssse me again...
I quickly started looking around. I had to be ready for him...
[Yeah.. we were uh...being nice and waiting on him. totally not procrastinating.][I suggest pulling off a attack and getting away as fast as possible. you know. so you live.][SIINTCA]

Tyler
He was dodging my super move, and though I doubted his abilities, he was actually doing a good job dodging him. I couldn't help but be amused by how he was struggling. Just then, a cloud of smoke made me lose sight of him, and when he leaped out of the smoke, he was falling apart and pointed a gun at my head. On instinct I tried to dodge, but the attack hit the side of my helmet, half of the helmet cracked open.
ARGH! ... Time to finish this!
He quickly launched himself back a little and fired a ball of light at him, time almost running out.
Three seconds...
Sean
Venom was around the corner behind the strange astral, waiting for the right time to attack. He couldn't help but feel that he should run...
-
Tylan
Tylan glared at him hatefully.

Tylan waited patiently. He left out his brother, and anything that would make the man suspicious of Warren. And he was a damn good liar.
The officer wasn't convinced. He took down some notes, and kept a suspicious look on his face.
I'm going to be honest with you. What it looks like to me is not what you make it sound to be. Anyone with a taser can easily inflict the same kind of injury. But that's just my view. Now, did you, or did you not attack the champ during his battle...
A call went out to all officers, a little fuzzy, but stated that there were strange orbs around the city, and many fighters getting injured.
Well, looks like you were telling the truth. I have to respond to these. Have a nice day young man.
The cop lets his witness out, then sped off to the nearest point.
Meanwhile, amidst the chaos, a shadow scout sneaks into Stan's room, and picks him up. He leaves with an unconscious champion without a trace.
-
Tylan and Daylin
Tylan strode through the park, where the cop had dropped him. He glanced around, worrying about Warren, when he caught sight of Daylin. He seemed to be arguing with a man...
DAYLIN WATCH OUT!
Tylan slammed into Daylin, sending them both tumbling. The orb the trooper had thrown hit the ground, no where near them. Daylin glowered, and Tylan spotted the boy from the stair well and a girl with him.
Hey, over here now! Life or death situation!
Tylan hoped they got there in time as the Trooper went for another orb...
-
Jack overheard a commotion. He turned and saw someone calling to him for help. Then he saw a man like the one who had just recently been causing trouble, Instinctively, he ran toward the people.
Jack! Celine called after him.
Celine realized that it was too late, and so she ran after Jack. Suddenly, they both synched.
-
Tylan and Daylin
The orb hit the ground, and they were forced to sync as well.
Sub-Zero
A shattering howl split the dome like marble arena that surrounded them. All that was visible was a blue and black flash as Sub-Zero searched for his prey.
Garlock
Garlock bellowed, his totem shattering a large piece of marble as he smashed it into the ground.
Garlock smash!
Spotting the Claw Trooper, Garlock charged with a crushing blow. The Claw trooper didn't speak, simply slid to the side, letting the totem rip apart the ground, before slicing Garlock's side open lightly, blood pooling out.
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero shot off a barrage of ice spikes at the Claw trooper, and watched as it shattered each of them with ease. This trooper was strong...
-
Noctis
Noctis looked around. He saw Garlock and a wolf in the arena with him, as well as Inazuma. He took to the sky, shooting a flurry of fireballs at the clawed man.
Inazuma
Inazuma didn't have time to worry about their other allies. She ran towards the clawed man a bit before shooting a stream of lightning at him!
-
Claw Trooper
Swinging his claws with an expertise unrivaled, he took the lightning full on. Spinning his arms around, he redirected it right at Noctis! Then back-flipped, easily dodging the fireballs. He charged straight at Inuzuma, swinging his claws faster than the human eye could see in a flurry!
Garlock and Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero fired howled and dived and Garlock charged, they weren't fast enough...

The scout reaches Jayden with Stan on his shoulders.
I have him, sir. Shall we commence?
Not yet. Take him to the alter, and tie him up.
The scout opened up a secret passage heading underground, with Jayden following. In the complex were many Shadow Scouts, each perfecting their techniques and deciphering symbols from various journals. They reached the alter, where a series of patterns and symbols were drawn. Stan was placed in one of the outer rings, and tied to a chair. Jayden went over to him and started to slap his faceto wake him.
Rise and shine Masters, you'll miss out on the fun.
A aymbol activated on Jayden's palm, and with one good slap, Stan was awake.
Ow...
He could barely see where he was, and could hardly make out Jayden's face before him.
Where am I?
The citadel my young friend. You see, you're going to help me with something, and you don't have a choice in the matter.
What makes you so sure about that?
Jayden pointed to another chair, where Cheif Masters was tied up.
I think he may have a few things to say, but I really don't care.
Stan had no choice. He bowed his head in another defeat. His father appeared knocked out, and he hoped that was it.
-
creeper started yelling.
OH COME ON! CAN YOU SERIOUSLY NOT ATTACK ME?!
the poison was still eating at him. if he didn't get the kill soon..he was going down.
Cmoooooon...
-
Garlock and Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero howled, bolting down at the claw trooper. The trooper spun, catching him on the wing, and slicing it clean off. Sub-Zero howled, but the claw trooper hadn't anticipated something, his claws were freezing. Sub-Zero's blood was one of the coldest materials on earth. The trooper ignored it, taking Sub-Zero down and beginning to grapple. Finally, with a jab, he beheaded Sub-Zero, and made sure to stay away from his blood. But the ground began to rumble, and suddenly he was dropped into a split, and onto a spikey field, desyncing him. Garlock had sued ground ripper.
Tylan and Daylin
Tylan picked up the burnt, and vaguely conscious Claw Trooper. They had tricked him, he must have been a new one. He threw him over his shoulder, and with Daylin following behind him, waved to the two who had helped, and marched to the nearest police station, handing him over.
-
The cops were a little stunned at what the group had brought them. They received calls from all over the place about these individuals, and took him in anyway for questioning when they awoke.
(Playing as Krapfen in place of Fox)
Krapfen was at the end of his rope. He was trying to remain as far away from the clawed man as possible, seeing as he managed to take a few clean hits off him. Every attack he launched, the trooper dodged, and every time he took the skies, the trooper closed the distance and took another swipe. He was running low on ether, and figured the only way out of this was to use Ether Storm, his last resort. He called forth the ether in the arena, which surprised him as lifeless as the place looked, and let loose his shock wave of energy. The trooper, seeing no way to dodge, simply used blitz claw to speed into the storm, and took very little damage
Krapfen couldn't believe it, his last resort did almost nothing, and everything seemed to slow down, the smile on the troopers face growing slowly larger, until he plunged his claws deep into his heart, desynching him.
Leo came out, and an arc of lightning like no other hit him directly in the heart, like the final blow. With one last gasp of air, he fell to the ground. His heart gave out from the massive damage, and was dead before he hit the ground.
-
Daylin
As soon as they had turned the trooper over, Tylan had ran straight back tot he hospital. Daylin was wandering through the bushes, when something caught his eye. It was a...body? Daylin jolted forward, checking for a pulse. He found none, the flesh was burnt like Warren's had been. He knew what had happened. He gently scooped Leo up, the man had been a good and honest battler, he didn't deserve this. Tears streaked down Daylin's face as he carried Leo to the nearest police station, after he reported this, he was gong to kill every last one of those arrogant trooper bastards.
-
Venom silently, but quickly, slithered up to the creature. It was time to end this. I silently leaped towards him, and if this attack connected, it would be over before he could do anything.
I have a bad feeling if he notices, he'll be able to KO me.
-

One of the cops nearly passed out. The other went up to Daylin.
This is impossible. All the people we found were at least still breathing. What in the world happened?
