AS the subject above implies ...List your pokemon team you ultimately hope to acquire when P-U is done && up running for Public Beta ...I'll state this now {Legendary Pokemon cannot be caught} From traveling the newly discovered region of Miryus ..you embark on a rigorous journey catching many pokemon ..But i would like to hear your team overall ..Your 'Ultimate Team' ..Ultimate not in the sense of necessarily meaning the strongest but your favorite team ...That being said I'll go first .

I generally don't give out my competitive teams; just a general rule of thumb in which I like to keep it as hush hush as possible until I test how it does. Still, I'll give off an old team that I managed to do superbly with. It's no longer as effective as it used to be, due to a meta-game shift and Focus Sash leads coming back into play.

Now, you'll probably be like, "OMGAHZ! LEGENDURIES!" Well, to be honest, so long as a Pokemon is OU or lower, I don't care if it has the legendary status. Jirachi is one of my favorite legendaries, as well as one of my favorite OU 'mons.
The idea behind this team was devoted to resistances, immunities, and bulky offense. Everyone of them, including Rotom, could take more than a few hits and dish them back out. It really shone, though, because of the Water / Fire / Grass defensive core. That alone saved my ass in many a fight, where I could out predict an opponent by switching around and wearing them down. (Starmie leads were, and still are, damn scary.)

Well, this is basically a team made out of my favorites, I dont expect it to get me very far, but this is for non-competitive wifi battling.

Here's my current team that I am using in-game, and might work into a competitive team;
Crobat - Lead
Hariyama - Bulky supporter
Dusclops - Ghost / Anti-spinner
Torterra - Set up sweeper
Quagsire - Bulky water
Nidoking - Wall breaker.
It's mostly just a few of my favorites, like I generally like quite a few Pokemon, and I figure it will do at least ok competitively.

Now i've swiched D or S or G with Garchomp
and crobat is now a camerupt
and Scizor is now a metagross or a munchlax
and finally Blastooise or Torterra is Sceptile
So its now
Lucario-Leader
Umbreon-always like its looks and personality
Garchomp-dragon and great moves
Sceptile-Original starter and the best
Camerupt-Way stronger than a Pokemon should ever be.
Metagross or Munchlax Metagross-Steel, Phychic adds to my type count alot and a strong moveset. or Munchlax-because he has a great moveset and can learn alot of different type

There are so many to choose from. I would normally go for a water/ice team myself. I just like the looks and attacks of water and ice. But I guess if i had to choose a mix up to survive it would be:
Cyndaquil (on of the few fire pokemon l like to use)
Magnamite (in my opinion an excellent choice for electric)
Poliwag (which i would evolve to a Poliwrath, wasn't to keen on Politoad then or now)
Oddish (which i would evlolve to vileplume if male or Bellosum if female)
Ralts (an excellent choice next to abra because you don't have to trade him/her to evolve fully)
Poliswine (my favorite ice pokemon)
Of course i would evolve these little guys to maximize their potential.

Do you have FireRed/Leafgreen?
If so Migrate it to Platinum, and do Pal Park.

Not quite sure about what I want for sure, but it would probably be something along the lines of...
1. Spiritomb (Have a guy that can't get super-effected out first so I know what my opponent starts off with...if I beat their first pokemon that's just a plus)
2. A water pokemon
3. A grass pokemon
4. A dark or pyschic pokemon
5. A fire or ground pokemon
6. A flying pokemon
