Plot
Hundreds of years have passed since Avatar Aang defeated Firelord Ozai. The world lived in harmony, and strangely, after the death of Avatar Aang, another Avatar was not born. The four nations were left to keep peace between themselves. They succeeded at this for many years, but eventually a small skirmish broke out. It was just a fight between the Water and Fire nations, but it was enough. A new Avatar was born.
The Avatar was born into the Earth nation, a small baby named Garda. He excelled at bending; mastering all four of the elements in under a year. At the young age of fourteen, Garda became an official Avatar. The skirmishes came more and more, and Garda began to worry. Eventually he thought of something that would protect the nations forever. He would rule over them, like an avatar should and within months, he and several followers had enslaved all four nations. The skirmishes stopped.
Years passed, and no one had the courage to speak out against Garda. However, one thing finally gave the people courage. Avatar state. Garda had never been able to enter the Avatar state. The people interpreted this as one thing, the ancestors did not approve of Garda's actions. An underground rebellion began. Now, many are being recruited into the rebellion, mostly young benders. Tension is rising, and even the civilians can feel it. War is coming.

Water Bender
Water benders are elegant, basing their bending off the ever graceful moon. They have two tribes, the Northern Water tribe, and the Southern Water tribe. The difference between the two is a bit strange. The Northern tribe has been mixed with other races more, so the purity of their bending has been tainted. What they lack in power, they make up for in skill. They have many scrolls from ancient times, that describe advanced techniques. So, while thy do not possess as much power as the Southern tribe, they possess more skill.
The Southern tribe, however, was once attacked by the fire nation. Their records and scrolls were destroyed. But, the one thing the Southern tribe does take pride in, they are pure bred. They have a cleaner blood line than the Northern tribe. That said, they possess much more 'horse power' than the Northern tribe. (Basically, a simple choice. Power or skill?)
Fire Bender
Fire benders are rumored to be the oldest society of benders, tracing their roots back to the fabled time of dragons. That said, this nation feels like it has something to prove. Even though it happened hundreds of years ago, the Fire Nation is still disrespected by most other nations for their rocky past with Firelord Ozai.
The worst thing, however, is the hate it holds for the Water tribes. The Water tribe is the biggest instigator when it comes down to it. They are the ones who will not forgive the Fire Nation. (Oh, who didn't see that coming?)
Earth Bender
Earth benders are set in their ways, strong, and stubborn as a bull. They are easily the largest nation, their kingdom stretching farther than any of the others nations. In the war of Aang (as it has been named), they were one of the last to fall, and are still considered one of the strongest military nations.
The most remarkable thing about these benders, is the way they battle. They are easily the most physically offensive fighters, often molding the earth into weapons to wield.
Air Bender
Even though these benders are few, the nation is not to be taken lightly. This nation is undeniably the smallest, and they do not have a set territory. They call the Air temples home, but they are nomads. Constantly traveling. It is commonly known during the time of Avatar Aang, the fire benders almost wiped out the nation. Even so, the Air benders forgave them. This nation is known as the wisest, and most peaceful.
Air benders are the fastest, and most flexible of the benders. Even at young ages, they could outrun Dragon hawks, and jump over twenty feet in the air. They are, literally, as light as a feather. They use their bending to run circles around their opponents, and blow them away.
Abilities (Every bender can do this, but it is very taxing.)
NOTE!:Due to a talk with some people who have watched the series a lot, I have decided, this will be for use MUCH LATER ON!
Metal bending - In order for an earth bender to bend metal, they need to be able to visualize the minerals still bound in the metal, which requires the blind sight technique. This takes a few years to fully master, but every earth bender can do so to n extent. Metals that are pure, such as Platinum, can't be bent.
Ice - In order for water benders to form ice, they need the target to be soaked in water, at which point thy breathe outward to freeze it. This tends to vary in speed as the breathe of air needs to be calm and cool, the more it is, the faster the water freezes. If a water bender is out of breathe, forming ice is nearly impossible.
Flying - Air benders can only fly with the help of their staff. The staff also needs to be intact, if there is a rip, the air can't move around it seamlessly, resulting in crash landings. Take an airbender's staff, and they lose their ability to fly.
Lightning - Fire benders take years to master lightning. This technique requires a charging process in which the bender must separate positive and negative energy. Any interruption can result in no lightning, or a dangerous backfire. Fire benders do not shoot lightning close range, as it is highly dangerous, therefore leaving it only when they have enough room to pull it off. Lightning travels slower than natural lightning, making it also unreliable at times.

Rules (taken from Amphi's)
1. Proper grammar and spelling is a MUST. All posts that are not well-written will be deleted. If there are scattered typos, the moderators will edit the post and correct them, but if this persists, the moderators can send a warning to the RPer and appropriate actions will be taken.
2. Posts must have something to do with the actual RP.
3. No more than two characters are to be controlled within any given post with a maximum of 2 main characters per thread.
4. You may not control another character without their express permission for ANY reason.
5. A main character cannot be killed unless they allow it.
6. No god modding. You are NOT all powerful.
7. While flaming in character is allowed, there are certain restrictions. Flaming cannot be discriminatory towards any real-world race, religion, philosophy, gender, or sexual preference, and that they are characters attacking each other, not members insulting other members. Put another way: all flaming must be done in character.
8. Profanity is allowed, but there are restrictions to keep it artful. FIRST OFF, the member that posts the thread must get permission from a moderator and include reasoning for the profanity to be allowed. Second, the member that posts the thread must indicate that there is to be profanity in the thread in the subject line. GM POST!
The moon streaked across the sky, outlining the lone figure that stood in the streets of Ba Sing Se. Smoke rose from the smoke of the factories located around him, and in the distance you could hear the sound of an engine. The figure shook his head, and then vanished. Hours passed, and the sun rose over the horizon, the moon disappearing.

Everyone, please report to the training room.
The guy walked down the hallways, shouting in each room individually. This structure was like no other. It was located deep beneath the city of Ba Sing Se, not disturbed technology, and completely crafted out of earth. The room that all bedrooms connected to was a large, circular room. It had doorways in all directions, with people dressed in the garb of all four nations coming and going. However, the largest doorway stood out as the path way to the training room. Inside the training room, hundreds of dummies stood for practice, some even located on the ceiling for airbenders. Pools of water were located in several spots, and arena's even lined several spots for people to spar.
Everyone, please report to the training room.

Jack
Everyone, please report to the training room.
Jack was grateful to hear the order. He hadn't slept well, as sleep had plagued him with horrid nightmares..again. He got up, looking forward to anything that would take his mind off the dreams.
Leon
Leon's eyes pushed their way open. He yawned.
Geez, the training room, right now?
He sluggishly got up, his panda Basuta, who h=had been sleeping against Leon, awoke with a start. Leon waved at his loyal pet, yawning.
Just go back to sleep, Basuta.
Basuta began to lumber after Leon anyway as he walked out of his room.
What are you doing? You don't even like to fight!
Basuta heavily lifted his head, looking inquisitively at Leon. Leon abruptly pointed at his room, and the panda trudged back in.
Leon entered the training room, Jack making it in right before him.

Sone jumped to attention, and stretched, glad to get a chance to stretch a bit. He walked out of his room, looking around.
Well, gives me a good excuse to stretch my legs...
He walked to the training room, looking around and waiting for more people.

Nyx was in her room, dancing so she would not lose her edge of dancing and hears the announcement.
"I guess it was about time, it's boring to be sitting arround only...Or dancing arround in my case."
She leaves her room and walks slowly and elegantly to the Training room, looking arround as she saw some students already

The man, apparently an earthbender, walked into the room. He looked over each, checking the names on his clipboard.
Nyx? Here.
Sone? Here.
Leon? Here.
Jack? Here.
Tylan? Daylin? Efialtes? Amber?
The man sighed.
It looks like several people are late. Well, I will start without them. Today, we are sparring. If all of you do well, you will get a big surprise. Once the others arrive, you will be told your opponents.

Efialtes
Efialtes's eye's shot open. he Jumped up and looked around. He started to walk out the door, and then noticed amebr wasn't up. He walked over to where she was and started to drag her out of the door in an attempt to wake her up. she started to stir.
YO, WAKE UP! We're going to be later than we already are!
Amber
She slowly got up and opened her eye's.
Nyeeeeeeeeh.....
they started walking until they finally got there.
Here. sorry we're late. SOMEONE wouldn't wake up.

Tylan and Daylin
Tylan slowly walked out of his bedroom, and glanced around. He knew he was laid, but ask him, did he care? The door beside him slid open, and out walked his redheaded twin. Daylin stood straight, his back erect. He didn't have much, but he walked with honor. The spiritual sword was slung across his back, sheathed in its holster, the blue handle gleaming in the light.
Ready?
Tylan grunted in response, and the two walked into the circular room, better known as the Travel Hall. They weaved through the crowd, quickly entering the training room. The twins saw several others, and...
Spirits, busted.
Tylan nodded in acknowledgement and the two stared at the guy.

YOU FOUR ARE LATE! Points will be reducted for this, so you must all work double to make this surprise achievable. Today we are sparring. The matches will be...

Nyx vs Sone! BEGIN!
The man went through several motions, and the ground trembled. Large earthen cages shot up around the pairs, making way for no interference.

Jack
Jack looked at the blue-haired guy that had just walked in.
You can't even get here on time. I surely hope you don't expect to beat me with such an attitude.
Jack took an almost crouching fighting stance, prepared for his opponent to strike.
Leon
Jack cracked his knuckles. This kid looked a little young...hopefully he would provide some sort of challenge. Jack stopped himself. He was beginning to sound to himself a little cocky, and he that wasn't his goal.
Alright kid, show we what you got!
Jack stomped his foot on the ground. Using his earth bending, a piece of the ground rose up. It rose to about his chest level. He stood there for a moment, then quickly swung his fist forward, and without touching the large rock he launched it at his opponent!

Efialtes rolled to the side and just barely dodged the rock, he looked at the guy.
Oooh, your gonna beat me with dirt, reeeeaaal intimidatin' tough guy.
Efialtes was bluffing a little.. okay he was bluffing a lot. he started thrusting his palms continually at the guy. fire ball after fireball shot out. this was quickly draining him of power, but hopefully...
Amber
Amber kinda stepped back a bit.
Wait what. F-fighting?
She kinda cowered.

(Psssst. knock her around a bit. make her angry.)

Tylan
Tylan didn't speak, whipping off the cap of his canteen. Half of the water he kept in there rose out, and he moved his hands and fingers in a hypnotizing motion. Slowly, the water thinned into strands, and 10 strands of water soared at Jack.
Daylin
Daylin looked at amber, his eyes glowing red. Yet, somehow, the gaze held sympathy...
I'm sorry for this...
He reached behind is back, slowly drawing his blade. He touched the tip, and his finger was cut open slightly.
Sharp as ever...
Daylin charged, his feet shifting across the ground, and then aimed a swipe (with the flat of his blade, mind you,) at Amber's side.

Nyx nods as she lifts her arms , placing them together over her head and starts waving her hips side to side slowly, making her body dance all together in a slow way as she looks at her sparring partner Sone.
"Allright, lets see what you have, Air Boy"
She says with a smile as she keeps slowly dancing as a Water Tendril starts appearing from the top of her hands which was arround her once, spinning arround clockwise, as she awaited Sone's move.

Sone looked at his opponent, Nyx, and was unfazed by her taunt because , well, he WAS an air boy. He saw her use her technique before, but this was the first time he got to fight her.
Alright, I'll try not to hold back.
He focused, calming himself, then punched the air two times and did a spin kick, the air around him warping and then blowing at Nyx at high speed. He then got back into his fighting stance and waited for his opponent.

She sees his move and spins away to the side, evading the two air punches but taking the last one, flinching but not stoping moving her body as she keeps dancing.
"Thats what i wanted to hear"
She smiles as the tendril suddently shapes into two water shaped orb, both going to her hands as she spins with her arms extended to the front, launching one and the other realy fast after it.

Sone managed to dodge the first one, jumping over it. The second one was a different story, it hit him flat in the chest, and he got knocked back, aching a bit. Imagine getting hit by a giant paintball shot out of a cannon, that's just about the same feeling he had at the moment.
Not bad... Let's see how you handle this!
He ducked and did a low kick, blowing low wind at her, then he got up quickly and did a high kick, blowing a horizontal gust of wind. He felt slightly drained, but felt he can last a bit longer.

Nyx was still dancing as she sees the wind wave at her, which she jumps in the air with a spin then sees the gust of wind coming, she makes bends another water sphere on her hand as she turns her back to the gust of wind, taking the hit directly, as she uses the impact from it to take the balance and spin to the left, launching the water bullet even faster than before as she bends down a bti still waving her body as she breaths hard from it.
"Handled and sent back, thats why i'm from the Southern tribe"

amber was hit and knocked to the side into the wall. her parrot shot off and decided. yeah. maybe it should go some where safe. she slowly got up, hat knocked off, she looked at the guy. he probably shouldn't have done that. [thanks for just knocking her around.]
She started thrusting her hands towards in a method similar to efialtes's and sending blasts of air at daylin! this was quickly draining her as it did efialtes, but hopefully...
[SIINTCA...also. I'm not very creative. gimme a break. couldn't think of anything that wouldn't be OP at this level.]

Tylan
Tylan pulled his wrists back like a puppet master, and all ten strands of water zoomed forward, whirling around itself, and hurtling towards Jack's hand. Disable the hand, slow the bending.
Daylin
Daylin stood his ground from the first two blasts, but the third one knocked him off balance. That left him open game for the next three. He stumbled back from each blow, and when the third struck, he was lifted off his feet. His back hit the earthen bars of the cage. Hard. He growled, his back aching something terrible, and slowly rose to his feet. He ripped his sword off the ground, and charged. He tried to slam Amber's head with the flat of his blade.

Jack dove out of the way, the attack barely missing him. He smirked.
Oh, is that all?
Jack summoned a mid-range fiery whip, and swung it at Tylan's legs!
Leon
Leon stomped on the ground again, sending several chunks of earth in the air, blocking most of the fireballs. Most. One skimmed his left shoulder and he staggered back for a second into a crouching position, causing the remaining pieces of earth to fall harmlessly to the ground. While he had been crouching, though, Leon had his fist planted on the ground, absorbing the earth and making a rock-hard shell all the way up to his mid-forearm. He then launched toward Efialtes, swinging his earthen fist at his opponent's stomach in an uppercut!

Tylan
Tylan moved his arms in a circular pattern, the water rushing back to him. It churned into a small shield, spinning in front of his leg. The fiery whip collided with the water shield, the water fizzling and steam rising up. the fire had gone out, taking part of the water with it. Tylan threw both his hands forward, and a churning spiral of water shot out at Jake''s arms and legs. Disable the limbs, disable the bender.

Amber
She was hit in the face and stumbled back a few feet, she clutched her face for a few seconds. this. this only made her madder. it wouldn't take much more for her to give in, but she wasn't going out without a fight. she sent out 3 small waves of air at daylin...
Efialtes
Efialtes jumped back, and managed to dodge it! he went to fire a fireball at the guy, but accidentally caught his hand on fire in the process! He's not very good at this, is he? He slammed his hand into the earth wall, multiple times to put the fire out. he finally managed to put the fire out, then he put his burnt hand into his pocket. he started forcing his remaining hand out trying to hit the guy with fireballs! this was quickly draining him though, and since he was in pain from his one hand being burnt, his aim was a bit off....ok. a lot off.

Sone tried to dodge it, but it was too fast so he got hit in the side. He flinched, it wasn't painless, he wasn't sure he could stand too many more attacks(Hint-hint). Ignoring what she said, he concentrated on the battle and took a deep breathe. He breathed out then looked at her.
The battle isn't over yet.
He punched the air three times, and clapped both his hands together to create another gust of wind, smaller than the last one.

Nyx makes another tendril of water appear in front of her as she with her hand slice it in half horizontaly , as both sides that hover each on each hand and throws her right first and left after, after giving a spin, where both water bullets go under the air blasts and the gust of win going directly at Sone, when she takes the three hits and the gust of wind directly, flinching back hard, coughing, with her knee on the ground. ((What we talked about in PM Nexy^^))

Sone saw her go down, and was distracted for a few moments. Those were enough moments for the water bullets to hit him simultaneously, launching him back a little. He used the wind to flip, and land on his feet, but then he limped. He was tired, and aching, he couldn't focus on air bending too well. He saw that both of them seemed unable to battle, Nyx was unable to dance and Sone was unable to air bend...
... Do you mind calling this a draw? We both seem unable to fight.

Nyx was on her knee breathing hard as she looks back at him after hearing his question
"Yeah... that sounds... good..."
She says as she gets on both knees breathing hard.

The captain, named Aaron, could see that a sparring match had finished. He made no move to free them.
Your very last test, escape that cage. you may not rely on bending for everything.
Each of the cages had been made specially for the ones locked inside. The cage Sone and Nyx were trapped inside stood at approximately twenty feet tall, with bars pressed close together, so nothing could slip between. The bars had also been reinforced, so no amount of water bending would help them. They would have to rely on wit to get out.
Daylin and Amber's cage had also been reinforced, so nothing could shatter the bar. The bars were pressed closer together, so nothing could slip between, and stood at approximately fifteen feet tall.
Efialtes and Leon's cage was unique. The bars were thick, and laced with metal hidden under the ground of the training room, so Leon could not bend himself free. They had also been made thicker so no amount of flames could weaken them.
Tylan and Jack's cage had no bars. It was a large room, made from slabs. The rocks were thin, but not thin enough to help the inhabitants inside. Small holes, that were so small not even Tylan could get any water through, were covering all around the earthen structure. It would allow air, but nothing else.
(THESE CAGES DO NOT AFFECT YOU UNTIL YOU'RE DONE SPARRING< AND YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE SAME INSTRUCTIONS AS SONE AND NYX!)

Sone scratched his head, looking around the cage. He scanned for any points he could climb on.
I could probably use my air bending to get out... if I could air bend. But then again that would probably ruin the test....
Sone had an idea, not sure if it would work, but worth a shot. He started running in a circle, gaining some speed, then rain straight for the bars. He started to run up the bars, but didn't go seven steps before slipping and falling, landing on his back with a grunt.
.... Figures, it's too tall to run up on... I feel like I'm missing the big picture.

Jack
Jack dove forward, the water just barely missing him. He charged his fists with flames. Jack then took a swing straight at Tylan's stomach!
Leon
Leon just stood there, the poorly aimed fireballs missing him. He then swung his earthern fist at the ground, sending a chunk of earth straight at Efialtes! There was also the sound of a crunch as the earth shell covering his fist was riddled with small cracks.

Nyx stands up slowly and looks down at the cage, it wasn't guarded from under she looks at Sone with a smile
"If we can't go over or through, why don't we under?"
She says pointing to the ground, where there was no bars, only the floor

Tylan
Tylan felt a searing pain in his stomach. His skin was burning, and the force of the punch was nothing to laugh at. He hit the side of the cage with a grunt. All the water Tylan had been bending dropped to the ground, and the pouch on his waist tilted over, spilling out the water. Tylan lifted his arm, but it fell back weakly. He managed to send a sharp glare at Jack.
Daylin
Daylin was lifted off his feet, and slammed into the ground again. He vaguely smiled, and decided to let the girl win. although she was surprisingly powerful. He fell over, his eyes rolled back, and hands crossed on his chest.

Jack
Jack got carried away. He used the fire in his hands and shot it, along with a few other fireballs, at the defenseless Tylan! A small part of Jack realized that maybe he should stop, but another told him to keep going!

Tylan
Tylan stood helpless. He grunted as a fireball slammed into his chest, it burned! His mind ace as the will to survive took over. He threw his hands out, and all the water that had hit the ground, came up. It whirled, blocking the next fireball, and then flying at Jack! This was Tylan's last move. If this didn't work, he was screwed.

Sone stomped the floor, testing it out. It might be possible, there was only one problem...
Neither of us can Earth bend, and our powers are a bit weak from injuries...
He thought for a moment, trying to come up with a way.
Bending wont help, so far our options are digging with our bare hands, or trying to find a weak spot in the cage. And I think the first option is a lot more likely to work.

Jack
Jack unleashed one last fireball, as he was getting too weak to bend much more, before the water slammed into him full force. It was stronger than he anticipated, and he crashed into the ground.
Damn, he's pretty good.

Tylan
Tylan shakily got up, using the last of his energy to bring the cold water he had been bending to is chest, lessening the pain. He looked at Jack, and having overheard Sone and Nyx orders, motioned to the walls. Then, he made a motion that symbolized escaping. Finally, he made a questioning motion.

Efialtes was hit. hard. he was slammed into the wall and fell to his knee's. he shakily got up and coughed up a bit of blood.
*cough* Okay. *cough* Y-you win.
He was struggling to to stand up. MAN THAT HURT.
Amber
Amber looked at the guy she was fighting. she was a wee bit confused.
Did I win?
[SIINTCA]

Nyx smiles and shakes her head
"Why don't i make the floor more fragile with water and you punch it down?"
She smiles looking at him

Sone shook his head, that would ruin the test.
We cant bend to get our way out of here, that would ruin the test. If you have it bottled I think that would be fine though.
Sone thought for a moment, then walked to a bar, then punched it. It didn't do anything.
... I don't think we can muscle our way through the bars either.
Though it wasn't obvious, he was cursing in his head in pain, his knuckle hurts.

GM POST!
Aaron could see most of the sparring matches coming to an end, now they had to find a way out... the answer was simple, team work. Several feet from each cage, were shovels. They were sharp as a blade, and could easily dig through the ground of this training room. They would have to work together to get them. In each cage, a few inches beneath the ground, was a single length of rope. They would have to use that.
Pride is a deadly thing in this world...
Except for Tylan and Jack's cage. It hadn't originally been part of the test, but Aaron had easily seen the pride both benders possessed. Aaron shook his head, someone was going to have to free Jack and Tylan, it would teach them to be humble, and that they could rely on others.

Sone thought for a moment and looked where he dug before, and noticed an indent next to it.
What the...?
He walked to it and started brushing the dirt off of it, revealing a part of a rope.
Huh, I didn't notice that before. Hey Nyx, mind helping me dig this up?

Nyx looks at Sone and nods but notices the shovels on the outside of the cage
"Lets use those instead of our hands"
She says pointing to them

Sone noticed the shovels, and thought for a moment. Our bending cant get the shovels, but the rope might be able to. He nodded, uncertain.
Yeah, but we cant use bending to get them over here.... maybe... if the ropes long enough...
He trailed off as he started digging up the rope, pulling it out of the earth. It was a good length of rope, but whether or not it works is... questionable. He tied one end of the rope into a loop, and made his way to the bars, aiming carefully.
If this does it, we're out of here.
He threw the rope through the bars, holding on to one end of it, and it only made it halfway to the box of shovels. He cursed under his breathe.
No good, it's too short.
He pulled the rope back, and looked at her.
Any ideas? The rope isn't long enough.

Don't like to talk much, eh?
Jack walked over to Tylan.
So how do we get out of here?
Leon
Alright, now what?
Leon looked around for a moment. They were trapped inside the cage.
We need to find a way out of this cage.

Tylan
Tylan shrugged, and leaned against the wall. He didn't like Jack, and didn't like having to associate with him.
Daylin
Daylin slowly got up.
Nice job beating me, now what do-is that a rope?
Sticking slightly out of the ground, was a length of rope. Daylin pulled it up, and scratched his head as to why it would be there.

Jack had enough of Tylan. He walked up to Tylan and grabbed the front of his shirt. Jack's other fist lit aflame as he held it up.
What's your problem? You wanna fight again? I'll beat you a second time!

Tylan
Tylan finally spoke. His voice was smooth, silky, but weak from lack of use.
You never won. No one did. This wasn't a fight to the death, otherwise you'd be dead. A sparring match is to spar, not kill your ally. But the fire nation wouldn't know mercy, would it?
He ripped Jack's hand off his shirt, and turned away.

She looks at the rope and then at him
"We could use it to get the shovels, it adds some distance to our arms. but there must be more ropes arround, lets search for them"
She looks at him as she starts looking

Sone thought for a moment, and looked at the other cages. He saw that one of the cages closer to him had people arguing, who they were he could make a good guess. As for the other cages, he couldent tell because the other one closest to him is too quiet, and the last one was too far. He sighed and thought for a moment, trying to come up with a plan.
You think the other cages might have some rope? We might be able to combine our rope with theirs so they can reach the shovels.
