I would encourage you to put some more story behind the RP to make a better setting. It's a bit empty IMO right now. Also, I think you can format (at least) the first post better than it is now!

Hmm that's not exactly what I was thinking but okay for the formatting. For the story behind the RP, I was expecting something like a more elaborate description of the current situation (try to give as much as you can!); and I don't think everyone follows the anime :P You could maybe state what's should be the aim of each player at this stage, what are the current expectations etc. As of now, it seems like after 'bumping into each other' there's nothing much to do...

I dont want the RP to run on wheels, i would like the players to choose what happens, like where they go and ill throw in events that happen along the way. after all if i set it up for a goal of becoming a pokemon master that story would not fit for a pokemon watcher so id rather see what sort of trainers i get before i decide any big events if that makes sense?

Okay, moved the OOCC to a new thread. (BTW OOCC = Out Of Character Chat, for things not strictly belonging to the RP)
Also: craftswitch, you could create a profile thread to put the character profiles there.

Nah thats me, the last place i advertised this people wanted to be pokemon in there 40s and 50s, if need be i can lower my level to work with everyone else, but the way i figure it will work best is if the group meet up a part way through there own journeys so we dont start with the same old "are you a boy or a girl?" routine XD. but you can be whatever you want goal wise.

I leave that up to you guys, you have the whole pokemon world to do what you want, i just add events when i feel there needed, and of course ill be constently trying to steal your pokemon. but its gonna be a sandbox open world roleplay.

Well im trying to make it a lot like the anime, team rocket go after some kids pokemon and fail everytime sort of thing, and ill maybe make a big rocket event happen every now ant then but theres no plot put into play because like if i made the plot revolve around being a pokemon master and all the players are pokemon watchers its not gonna work if you get what i mean?

Well yeah, its important to know what sort of people will be on the adventure, and what kind of people they are, but i reakon this is gonna be a great RP because i have always wanted to be able to explore the pokemon world and now we all will be able too. and normally someone choosing a bad character in a group of good ones dosnt work but this time it will because ill be following you guys the whole time lol.
Obviously there will be times ill have to work with you guys like if an event endangers us all. but yeah, big event tend to come up depending on where you guys choose to go. like right now its set in the orange islands, theres a lot to do there. but the teams aim might be to travel to the whirl islands to compete in the whirl cup. if thats the case you have to plan the journey making sure you are able to get to pokemon centres and shops along the way for food and places to stay. because in the anime the centres were much more than just a healing station, they were hospitals for pokemon and places for trainers to sleep and eat. there pretty cool and seem to be free aswell.

The whirl cup is a water type only tornament in Johto But the oragne islands are in kanto i cant see much point in going there especially with out a few water types. And wont we need a large water type pokemon to travek from island to island.

Well your on a large island with a big port so you can catch a ferry to where you need to go, and i was just using the whirl cup as an example, it will be up for the players to choose where they want to go together and also if you remember the whir islands attracted water trainers from all over the world, who knows one of the players might be a real water nut and want to go there eventerly.
I just wanted to start the story somewhere that isnt overly used and the orange islands Havant been in the games.

Does that mean we're at mandarin island south since its the largest island in the orange archipelago or it could be kumquat island that seems to be the second largest.

The setting:
- It will be set in the Anime world so it will be light hearted and SFW. There will be no deaths.
- Our story will start in the tropical orange islands.
- We will start on Ascorbia Island for the festival of the Squirtle that celebrates the young Squirtle that got into the fire fighting training program. People from all around the Orange Islands bring there squirtle in the hopes that they will get into the program. It is a big event because it is held in a big city and there are stalls, music and shows.
- All the players will start here somewhere and bump into each other.
- It is a 'freestyle' type of story, where the members can decide of their own paths. I'll be planning on the big events now and then
Yeah i made the festival up but ill be using creative freedom to create fun stuff like this too as every 8 episodes they seem to run into a festival of some kind in the anime lol

well you seem to have done your research and at least your not making up islands. but ascoriba is at the edge of the islands and the closet gym is on navel island. And all that guy wants to do is bobsled

Yeah but i was looking for a big island that i could come up with a celebration for, i was stumped with the other ones and i wasnt going to do the event from the power of one coz that seemd like a 1 person thing. and anyone who plays, if there a trainer they might already have the other orange island badges, or have beaten the orange leuge already.
its really up to the players how they start

i cant see anyother reason to go the orang islands other then for the league and this festival apparently so i'd probably end up leaving if the case was i'd already won

Fair enough, i was just wanting to make an interesting starting point because i love the orange islands. and with that i take it your going to try to be a pokemon master? why not try to find a pokemon that lives in the orange islands?

hmm that would be a be a lapras which is apparently a hard pokemon to find in the anime since they travel in schools.
And to me a pokemon master is a master at all things pokemon meaning he's beaten every league, won every contest, and cuaght every pokemon possible not to mention done thing involving pokemon research and breeding. abd all thats too much work for an rp i'd rather just be a trainer.

i think u can bring what ever pokemon u want to start off but u'd probably only be able to catch pokemon (excluding this wandering lucario) who live in Kanto.

Is it just me or is it a little strange that there is a lvl. 30 feraligatyr when it evolves at lvl 36???

Croconaw evolves into Feraligatr at level 30.
Also, there's no "y" in Feraligatr.

Also, after Humen creates his profile, do you want to get things started? I think with him, the Lucario, lubbies, and myself, we have a good team. Maybe one more but I think four and the GM is perfect.

agreed I'll work on it now. and lubbies in johto the evolutions are spread out where chikorita is the only one who still evolves at 16 and 32 and the other two evolve a little earlier and a little later then the rest in group

How's everyone's schedule look for RPing? 1:00am-5:00am GMT is pretty open for me everynight (except Friday's and Saturday's when I'm typically partying). Sundays-Tuesdays are bad days because I work, but Wednesday-Thursday, and Friday-Saturday 2:00pm-11:00pm GMT are good times.
If everyone's open to it, let's set a date 2-3 times a week where we'll all be on and can roleplay for solid 1-2 hour clips.
Also, when we start and things are rolling along we should consider exchanging facebooks and creating a group page where we can more easily stay in contact with one another. I'm committed to having this RP have some longevity and the best way to create that is through good communication.

Sweet, Humen. I love your choice of pokemon.
Before we move forward, can I get some confirmation from Craft on what the target level range should be? Based on everyone's profiles, we have pokemon ranging from level 18 all the way too 48. I'd like to keep things competitive and yet I would also prefer to stay a few levels above the average, given that I only have one pokemon.

i asked about that too since none of use were starting an adventure here we wouldn't have any low level pokemon but i guess we should put in some sort of level cap
But at the same time since we'll be playing by anime standards level and stats wont really play much of factor

Yeah, and im sure my forever failing attacks should give lower leveld pokemon a real boost XD,
as for times, i cant be certain when i will be on just yet as i just started collage so i need to see what my timetable says. but i should have a lot of free time. I live in the UK so cant be up really late anymore because of collage thats the only thing.
I would like this to be a long term thing too, i hope i can keep coming up with ideas for it, my thought box hasn't failed on my yet tho so i should be ok ^.^
But i have a facebook and a skype so im sorted whatever way we choose to stay in contact ^.^
Ill set up the main thread in a bit, i need to sort my head out before i post anything if thats ok?

So i just finished throwing an amazing party and I am exhausted. Partying is hard work.
Anyway, do whatever you need to do Craft, I just recommend you do it as quickly as you can. We want to keep the Momentum going.
Please get back to me about the whole target level range thing. I realize we're essentially doing this "anime style" so the level doesn't really matter, but I'd still like to get your input.
Feel free to request help if you need any too. If you need someone to assist you with GM duties once in awhile, I'd feel confident and comfortable in doing so. I know college can be a lot of work. Best of luck!

By the way, I AM capturable, just to clarify things, which I thought I did in my Character Profile. However, I may possibly create a trainer if nobody adopts me.
