Title: ALERT! PU NEEDS MOTIVATION!
Post by: Tickles on February 14, 2014, 05:38:01 AM
Attention all fans and visitors. On behalf of the PU development team, I would like to apologize for the lack of updates over the past months, and would like to give something to you all. Unfortunately, it isn't the game, and I regret to say that our development team has dwindled down to a handful. There is a simple explanation for all of this: our level of motivation is down. Very few members are on at a time, and at most points, none at all. That is why I am calling a state of emergency for PU. I want everyone who still believes in this project to say so, and why they do. Give us stories of your times on this site, explain what you are excited for most. Especially let Mr Dark know. If it wasn't for him, and Urmel, this brainchild would not have gotten as far as it did, a lot of your favorite forum posters would not be here, and all the excitement for something different and new would never have existed.

Also, feel free to post your own artwork, quest ideas, anything you can think of. This a game made by fans, for fans, and the only way that will be fulfilled is by letting you, the fans, show off your skills, or utilize the amazing world of the internet to get the word out that this project is on the verge of falling, and the few of us still holding on need a large amount of motivation. I for one don't want to see this project fail, and I know there are a lot of you out there that wish the same thing.

Let's get this thing back on track. A great project needs your help more than ever, and there is a lot to do. We need mappers, artists, writers, battle experts, programmers, anyone with any creative skill or ideas. Post on Facebook, Twitter, Serebii, wherever you can think. We need support, we need to know that you all still want this, and are willing to help out any way you can.

well i think some of us dont post that much, but that doesnt mean im not keeping a close eye to the proyect, i have been here since 2009 i think, and i still wait paciently for the game, i know im not the best motivator, but i hope you keep on this awesome proyect, that i think is something all the pokemon lovers, especially those like me that dont have any console, are wishing to see finished and be part of it.
I dont offer you any help with the develoment because im a noob with computers and art programs, but i have been watching the treads you make of the art and scrip, and i have to say i love the quallity of your work... as i say im not the most active at postting but at least i try to keep on reading the treads and enter this page once a week.

I think the low activity is because of the X and Y games, that has kept many people interested in the game. Also, im really happy at the same time surpised that you have already started to add the X and Y pokemon to the develoment, is great that you already have think of that, and dont worry there's still many that keep an eye on this page and that wait paciently for it, keep on the great work. ;)

Note: i sorry for my english ortografy, but im not an english speaker...

It's not about activity. It's a combination of lack of motivation, content, and the first option. We are struggling, a lot, and though we can't devote all of our time on this, what we did put in is only a fraction of what needs to be done. We were thinking about heading in a new direction, but that never got off the ground, and now the few developers that remain are on the fence about this, save for Roloc and I. That's why I made the post, to let everyone know what the situation is.

well in that case i can only say the same thing as last time, i really wish to see this proyect be done, maybe what i think that happends is that you want to do many things like adding all the 6 gen pokemons to the balance, you could just keep on the job already done and then add this, like most of the MMO, with patches. I dont know how can i give you support really, has i say im not a technology person, so i cant help you with the develoment things.

i know its not about activity, but i think that activity shows a litle of the complications all you had in this time, even thought most of the crucial moments of almost everything are when the big problems apear and you have to keep on and on, until you take off. i think that as you say, this is a fans for fans proyect, so we have to help you guys in everytinh we can, but as i say, some of us are really bad with this, so the only thing that we can give you is suport and the best wishes so you can keep on.

maybe some of the things that you could do is opening treads and contest to make new helpers, many skilled people like to be chalenged and is a good opportunity so you guys get a little hand with the job, and as i say before, i have been reading almost all treads (exept the RP) and i know that even thoug that there is a lot to be done, you guys have made a lot, more than any of the other members (like me) can do even if we had a life time only doing it we'll still be laking a lot. Every one of the team has done much and we are really thankful of your efforts and we hope you dont give up.

I would like to apologize to the development team. I have not been on very much simply because I don't participate in forums. I get on about once every few weeks to see how the development is going.

That said... I believe in you guys because no one else has tried to make a project like this yet and you guys are the closest and have the best ideas. I want an online pokemon game that is super interactive and personalized. You guys are in the midst of creating this fanciful masterpiece! Dont stop now! We the fans believe in you and want you to keep up your spirits. You can do it and we are super stoked for the release of this game.

Mr. Dark and Urmel,

Thank you for getting this project of the ground, or better yet, out of your heads and onto the internet. I cant offer any technical skills to help you create your masterpiece. Just my support and prayers :) I hope you will be motivated and determined to give the world the pokemon game it has been waiting for.

Development team,

Please stay motivated. I believe in you and pray that you get this project done and that we can all enjoy the fruits of your labor. Thank you for all the hard work so far. I know it is not easy to build a game from scratch.

To PU,

Dont give up and keep going. I write this post to show my support and hopefully to motivate you all. Thank you for everything so far. I cant wait for the game to be released.

Praying for you all.

I'm not much of a forum poster, but I do check back on the site several times a week. I've been looking forward to the game for a long time now. I met a good friend here and I hope to meet many more once you guys do get the game going. I have really liked everything I have seen of it so far and the balance server is the only online battling I'll ever really do. I think you guys can make an awesome game if you just keep at it! To everyone who has contributed, thank you for all your hard work!

So I'm one of those guys that's not actually part of the community here, but just checks the front page of the site regularly to see if there's actually a game to play yet. I can only say that I've been coming here since pretty much the beginning, since this was pretty much the only hope I had of ever getting to play a proper online pokemon game, that's not based on a world I've already played through over and over and over again.
I'd really like to see the world you guys've created and experience the adventure of it.

I honestly have no idea how far you guys are, but wouldn't it be a waste to just let it end without even making it to alpha? Maybe you should just put online what you have, so people can experience it and share their experience on facebook/twitter/whatever. There's a lot to be gained from letting people play a little bit I think.

As for the dwindling of users online, I think that's just a result of people getting tired of waiting actively, and just switching to waiting passively

Anyways, even though I don't really have anything to contribute aside from this motivation, I hope it helps you guys ahead a little bit.

My girlfriend also wanted to help with motivation and contribute with a quest she thought up, but the account activation is hindering her so here is her reaction:

I am also not a part of the community, but that does not mean that I am not interested in Pokemon Universe. I am one of the passive fans that would really like to see Pokemon Universe to become playable. Pokemon has been half my youth and I still love it! It would be amazing if Pokemon Universe would become reality!!!

And to help you guys, I’ve thought of a quest ‘The Wrong Starter’

Quest: The Wrong Starter

Story of the quest:

Chariza is a sad girl who’s mother is sick. Someone told her that there is a shrine with good luck fortunes. Unfortunately the shrine is placed on the other side of a canyon and she cannot cross it. She hoped to get a Charmender that would one day become a Charizard so she could fly over the canyon, but she got a Bulbasaur.

In the same town, you meet a Bulbasaur. He’s quite sad. You ask him to join you for a bit. He nods and seems a bit happier. He starts following you, but does not join your party.

When you near the canyon and talk with the Bulbasaur, he says “Bulba.. Bulbasaur.” and shoots out his vines so you can cross the canyon. On the other side is a plateau with  a small patch of grass (and a rare Pokemon) and a good luck shrine where you can get a good luck charm. When you go back to the other side of the canyon and talk to the Bulbasaur, he pulls his vines back and says “Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur!!” He takes the good luck charm from you and starts following you again.

When you go to the house of Chariza, the door opens and Bulbasaur walks to Chariza. You follow him. Bulbasaur says “Bulba! Bulbasaur!” and gives Chariza the good luch charm. Chariza becomes happy once more and thanks Bulbasaur. She asks if he wants to join him again. Bulbasaur nods and walks so that he stands beside Chariza. Chariza gives you ‘Chariza’s Rope’ as thanks. Her mother didn’t want her to do dangerous things anyways.

uhm anyways, if anyone is interested, here is a link to the worked-out version

I will say, I'm impressed. It's a nice simple quest, but there is a good story line within it. I'm going to go ahead and put that in the quest section and give credit. Also, on letting you guys lay with what we have, that's the issue. We don't have anything. I'm not sure what happened to our mapper, and haven' heard from them, some of us tried our hand at designing the world map, but it ended up a mess because some of the tile files we needed became corrupt. We do have a few of the game-play mechanics done, and NPC scripting is 90% done for the beta. The reason I'm telling you guys this is to get you out of the dark. I am also working on ways you guys can contribute, and might post that later on depending if I get any response from the remaining devs. Right now, I am the only one actively working on getting the project back on track, though Roloc is around and he is keeping a close eye on our battle testing server.

Also, just because it needs to be said, a rule here is not to double, triple, or quadruple post. I merged your posts together, but if you need to add something, just clock the wrench icon, and you can easily edit your last post. fuzzy, tell you girlfriend I said thanks, and if the account activation allows her to log on, let her know to contact me directly.

Right, sorry about the multiple post. I'll remember the edit ability.

And my girlfriend is already on it more than I am, she actually pointed out your post to me :p

She's pretty much already on it, with the development toolkit being open, and her already putting lots of time into making games with RPGmaker.

I'll see if there's anything that I'd be able+willing to do. I've got a lot of time on my hands that could be spend... better...

Awesome. I look forward to what you guys will show off.

Also, to everyone else, I posted some new things to show you guys what we have planned. One is the rough maps. You guys can now contribute work related to maps with the frame of reference for the beta.

The second are pokedex entries. It's my own take on the simplest feature of all. Identifying a pokemon. I hope you guys have a lot of fun with it.

At the moment, there's not really anything I can do to help. However, I am currently learning C#, and will be familiarizing myself with C++ when I'm done with my C# class. I'm also beginning to learn about the inner workings of Linux, so if you guys need help with a Linux version of the game, or need programmers in the future, I would be more than happy to help. Other than that, I don't really have anything else to offer. I'll try my hand at writing some quests, but I don't think it's really my thing.

I hope we can somehow get things moving a bit, and hopefully attract veterans and new members to the forums again. I've been checking in once in a while for over a year now. It's strange to see the forums so empty. A few years ago, these forums were brimming with activity, but now it's like a ghost town here. The problem is, I don't really know what can be done to catch people's attention besides making progress on the game, which will be difficult without more people on the dev team.

I've always wanted to help with the game, but haven't had either the proper talent or time. Regardless, I love this site, and the RP section has taught me plenty of things about writing, especially in dealing with my characters, that I would have been hard pressed to learn anywhere else. I've already spoken to a few people before about how I would like to help around with quest writing as much as I can for the game, and I would have submitted several of my own by now, but this is the busiest time of the year for me. If I can scrounge together the time, I'll see what I can contribute, but I know that I should be able to help with pokedex entries. In fact, if I can manage it, I plan to do a MAJOR amount of work in this section. I've been profiling characters for the novel I'm working on for a week or two straight now, so it's right up my alley, and is something I can do rather comfortably. Doing all 700+ on my own isn't likely going to happen, but I can do a good bit, I'm willing to put a little of my writing work on the side to help. Keep up the hard work!

Alright, saying it. We are in need of mappers. To anyone that is reading this, if you know anyone with any mapping or artistic skill, please lead them here, and specifically to the rough map thread. Some of you think you can't contribute. The major thing that is needed is getting the word out, and every one can do that. Post it, send it, grab a friend, whatever you can think of. Simply telling people what is happening here is enough, and will be greatly appreciated. I want to see this game released and thriving, you guys want to play something different than any other pokemon MMORPG. If we all work together, and put enough effort behind it, we can make this great thing happen.

Oh man, this makes me feel really bad for never actually logging in... I always check in on the project from time to time  but... At any rate, for years and years now, this project has held a special place in my trainer heart. It represents an incredible opportunity and has the potential to be exponentially larger than any Pokemon game to date and that excites me immensely. Sure, Nintendo has been letting us battle other trainers since day one and they've been making it easier and easier with each generation, especially with this latest one, but Pokemon Universe stands ready to bask on a whole other level. Again, thinking about that gets my mind racing with excitement. The thought of the unbridled freedom that Universe offers and the idea of a world with no 'endgame' that has the potential to constantly evolve is something I couldn't bear to lose or miss out on. Think about Bethesda recently and The Elder Scrolls Online. I haven't properly checked it out yet but from I know it takes everything fans love about the previous individual games and opens it all up at once with the bonus of being around other people in an open world who love it just like you do. Universe is to Pokemon what TESO is to Tamriel and as an avid MMO player, I can definitely say that  once finished, it stands to be a grand experience and adventure that few trainers have experienced before. (I say few because the developers have experienced it of course. XD) I could go on and on, but I don't think it's necessary. I'll finish by saying that maybe Universe hasn't QUITE gotten as much publicity and attention as it deserves, but that doesn't make it any less amazing and full of potential. Hang in there because you'll never know how great this could be until it's finished (or at least in an open beta state).

Huh, I've been here for a bit... in the shadows after my initial burst of fun in the sun.  I'm not one for words, but I've been rooting for this the entire time, and still am.  I'm just not quite active on displaying this, which I'm sorry for!  I don't think one user makes much of a difference, but I'm sure there's plenty of us who, like me, have just been faces in the background and silently cheering on.

So, I guess it's time for a proactive approach (and hopefully others follow suit). I may be up to my ears with college studies, but that doesn't stop me from sending out word to some people who could possibly help.

Not sure what a "mapper" entails, but I know a guy who I've used in the past to make little d&d encounter maps... plus he's in college for video game coding and stuff to boot!  Would that be of any help?

Actually, yes, that would help a lot.

Edit: I think an update is in order. Over the past few days, Yuki, Roloc, and I have been hard at work on content for the game. We have a few interiors  done, and Yuki had the first town completed. I am still accepting pokedex entries, and Zatir is back to work on the editor. Declan has also contacted, and promises something special for all of you. Things are rolling again, but I can't promise a release date just yet.

This is my first post i think :p I usually just come here one time a week or so to see if there are any updates. Have not had anything to say so..

The thing that made me interested in this game is that it is going to be a whole new world to explore, and that is always fun :)

Don't know what more to say.. I jus hope you will continue with the game and that one day i can play it :)
This was probably the most useless post in this thread but just wanted you to know that I look forward to a game :p Hope it helped with something..

So, I was just thinking, and I think we should plan some sort of PU event to take place this Summer. I'm really not sure what, because I'm really not good with these kinds of things. I think we should do something that doesn't involve PO though, I think we need something on the forums. It might attract some attention, and possibly get the forums going a little bit more.

The key to getting more people involved in the development is to "rebuild" the forums. If we attract people to the forums, forum activity will increase. An increase in forum activity will encourage people to return to/join the forums. And the cycle continues on. Not only could it provide a boost in morale to both the team and the members of the forum, it will also likely yield more people who can join the development team.

I think one of the biggest issues is that only the RP and Guild threads are really active. I understand why; most (if not all) of the active members are part of a guild, and lots of them are RPers. Since the guilds were made so early on, there aren't many guild-related things for the members to talk about. These threads basically serve the purpose of the old Chit Chat thread. It's all random conversations about various topics. I think that, in the future, we're going to need to start making threads for these conversations. I think people might be more compelled to join in on a conversation if it's not in a guild thread.

Also, as a later goal, I would like to see the IRC active again. I've seen people on the forums say that they mostly hang out on the PU balance server (which is fine), but I have some fond memories of the IRC, and I know there will be people (like me) that would prefer to use the IRC channel instead of downloading PO solely for the purpose of hanging out with the other members.

I had more, but I'm getting tired now, and forgot the rest of what I wanted to say. I highly encourage everyone to try to get the forums active again though. I don't think we'll be able to make much progress at this time of year, but if we collaborate and start getting ready to get things going when the school year is over, I believe we can make some progress.

Now that I think about it, maybe I should start a separate thread for this topic.

Gotta say I agree with that, when I wasn't part of a guild I never looked in the pokemon knights topic, because it was a guild, and I didn't expect any conversations about other things than just the guild...

I agree mostly. Though I think it should have both a forum thing and a PO thing, last time we streamed PO over the forums and it was quite successful. It had something like 60+ viewers at one point. I imagine it would be even more this time as I have our balance server set to public and we get random people in all the time. Some like the idea of a balanced meta game others do not. Can't please everyone though.

I think one of the biggest issues is that only the RP and Guild threads are really active. I understand why; most (if not all) of the active members are part of a guild, and lots of them are RPers. I completely 100% agree. Thats why EE keeps it's guild thread about 95% guild talk, and chit chats on the balance server.

I would like to see IRC active again, it seems so dead lately. Though I will probably never return to it. PO takes about 1-5 mins to download depending on your internet connection. IRC needs to be downloaded as well unless you plan on using a web client at all times which is highly unlikely as the constant DC's will get annoying(Happens to everyone, I used to be on IRC 24/7 and saw tons of web client related issues) so either way you end up downloading something. Also in the near future PO will be able to be accessed via web client. :D But, we do need both so we need someone to bring IRC back from the grave.

I don't ever recall having problems with DCing myself, but I do remember Kamaran and Spirit having issues with it. Other than that, all I saw was the occasional DC or ghost problem. Maybe back then the problem wasn't as common, it could be a newer issue that popped up. My memory is kinda fuzzy.

So long as I've taken the initiative to try to get the forums going again, I could be our "official" forum reconstruction guy. That way you guys can focus more on the game, while some of the remaining members and I can work on rebuilding the forums. Since further development of the game will contribute to the re-population of the forums, and vice versa, I think it would be beneficial to have two separate groups working on the game and the forums. Not that we don't need the team's help, of course. It would just take some of the burden off of you guys and help you focus on the game.

Nah, it was always a problem, even when you were getting on IRC. I remember when you were getting on. :) Don't forget I'm one of those old members too :D I even remember when you joined. Was like a month after I made this account to replace my old one.
Great idea though, I can't wait to see what you come up with. Good luck.

Nah, it was always a problem, even when you were getting on IRC. I remember when you were getting on. :) Don't forget I'm one of those old members too :D I even remember when you joined. Was like a month after I made this account to replace my old one.
Great idea though, I can't wait to see what you come up with. Good luck.

@GBA
What took so long? :O get to work, kitteh!
I guess my memory just sucks then. Were you active when I joined? I don't remember you until sometime after EE started. Of course, I couldn't remember the DCing issue on IRC either, so maybe it's just my memory again. I was probably too busy being a douchey faggot.

I would help, but I suck at writing. so I will cheer you guys on from the background. Have fun, and good work all.
Well, you could always help us out with rebuilding the forums. Keep an eye out for a thread about it, I should have a few basic plans that will need expanding on. Suggestions on how to go about doing this will also be welcome, of course. I definitely won't be able to scheme on my own.

Yup, I was active. Wasnt too active on my old account but when I came back and forgot my password and made this account then I was active. O.o EE started a long time after I joined. xD Back when the d-virus made it O.O

Yeah, the forums were doing good up until about 9 months ago. But it just started teetering off slowly and never stopped.

That was a dark time for PU history. A very dark time. Even worse than the harley invasion, though I somehow missed all of that. I still remember having to battle the virus over and over again like some nightmare fueled by a twisted child in a dark alley. I won all of those matches, but still, winning felt dirty.

Anyways, game progress is still going strong. We have our official map editor, and Roloc is a beast when it comes to mapping.

That thread brings back memories. Powerpoke was spreading his disease (and was subsequently banned), Mr. Fox thought he was a big tough guy, and had some sort of imaginary rivalry with Frenchfry. Frenchfry made the situation a big joke for the amusement of others, Monzta and Ruby were busy being cool, the thread got spammed, and my level of faggotry was slowly decreasing.

Good times.

Dammit. I thought there were little boys that I could stalk. Well, off to another forum then.

Okay, so I'm going to be serious for a little bit. You might remember me as Simulacrum, I just recently had a name change. I'm a veteran member of the forums. I joined in 2010, and I was 12 years old then. As you can imagine, things didn't go over well. Some of the other veteran members managed to fix me though. I'm much less annoying and idiotic now. Then some stuff happened, most of the vets left the forum, and now I'm back to try to revive the forums, so that more stuff can happen. Because I like when stuff happens.

'
I'm 16 years old, joined at 14. I'm more active in the RP thread, always ahve been and probably always will be. For a while Xetroc and I were the only thing keeping it alive at all. I had decent grammar when I joined, but a broken keyboard. Learned a lot in 2 years about writing, and like to think I've improved... I'm also ice elite, wild card, and officer in the EE. Bow down to your superiors, Xetroc.

Everyone here pretty much knows me. A nobody who showed up, disappeared for a summer, then came back with such a crazy stampede that I went from guild leader, to prominent RPer, to all around cool writer, to freaking PU dev member in less than two years, to bored guy, back to PU writer, and now part of the EE. Dang, what a ride. I don't think I count as a PU veteran just yet, since I was not around during the good years of PU.

And no, I shall not bow to you blades, because I am far older, and therefore, superior. Being 21 has its perks.

A lot of the veteran members have been gone for a looooong time. All those great people from back in 2009 and some of the newer vets from 2010. There are still a few of them around though. Me, meowth, Toast, Noah, Bing,  Monzta and a few others. That guy that was obsessed with that girl that left was on IRC not long ago. I forgot his name :O

Lets not forget the oldest vet around.....Mr Dark xD

Kidding.  That guy that was  obsessed with that girl? Leo. Forgot what he used before he changed it to leo, but he went as far as tracking down the IP address and home of another member, ChibiVampire. And some people supported him. God. Some of us came to the conclusion that chibivampire wasn't even a girl. She was Leo himself. Weird poop.

For those that don't know, Carbon was a guy that got mad about something and took his revenge out on the members of the forums. He banned everyone. But Mr Dark being the awesome guy he is, he banned Carbon and unbanned everyone else.

Baka Gringo could be added to that as well. He will be contacting Nintendo directly by phone.

In my years as a gamer, I've seen games with good concept that failed to execute those ideas properly. Games like Test Drive Unlimited 2 - an open world online racing game where racers could roam freely while being able to encounter other racers and challenge them on the spot, with expensive mansions and cars taunting the player and giving them something to aim for. Sounds like a great concept right? But the game failed to execute and failed the expectations of many fans.

But once I saw the screenshots of PU back in 2009, I knew it wouldn't be one of those games. So i signed up and kept my eyes on the project ever since. I've tried to recruit friends to the cause. But they've all said "But its not even in the beta phase". I just want to see this project come to fruition, to prove my friends wrong. A good, functioning and active MMORPG of Pokemon only exists in my wildest dreams at the moment. My message to the PU team is to keep working at it. You all didn't put in this much work to scrap it all.

You're not alone GBA, I'm off for one weekend and the site suddenly becomes active...
I'm not complaining or anything lol, because activity is obviously a good thing. I joined about a year and a half ago, left about half a year ago because my schedule was ridiculous and I didn't have time to keep up, but I missed the community we had and so I came back like a month later. Needless to say, my schedule is still absurd, but it's whatever.

I googled Pokémon MMORPG. Saw Pokémon Universe. Went in, downloaded something without looking at the post date (Which was April 1st.) Got mad, and then joined the forums because, heck, I made an account for all this. Slapped pixel arts on the forum.

Next day... Joined the PU pixel art team. .w.; Boredom did and still does weird stuff with me.

Well ive been reading this for a bit and i guess ill just do a quick intro for those who dont know me. Im a 16 year-old, turning 17 in a couple months, and i joined the site back in 2010, so i was like 13, so this'll be my 4th year lurking around, waiting for the MMO. I apologize for not really being active like AT ALL, this year especially is the toughest yet cuz im in a boarding school so my schedule's pretty packed with classes and then i work for a while in the afternoon, so I dont have the most free time xD sorry guys. But i want you guys to know that im still here and i check up on the site whenever I can and im not going anywhere :) Though, I must admit, most of the people I used to talk with and stuff are kind of gone, no that any of you aren't interesting :P Haha, it;s been great here honestly, i remember most of the stuff mentioned, and xD yeah i remember the stuff with ChibiVampire and Leo, omw. But yeah, im sure im not the only one that still lurks here though is inactive.

Surprisingly i didn't know about Bakagringo doing that ._. i thought the guy was pretty cool when i first met him.

I think Kamaran's pretty cool, taught me a couple of things about gimp and other image editing stuff, so im still rpetty grateful for that.

Oh, though we never really talk anymore, I would have to say Jerry is still my favorite Team member cuz he's just so nice and awesome and helped me a ton back in the first couple of days i joined back when i was 13 :D Keep it up Jerry ;)

Dat Roloc man ._. makes me wanna quit pokemon forever i swear. I rarely win against him on PO xD And here i was, when we started using PO, that i'd pwn seeing as how im a pokemon veteran Been playing that blue version since i was 8 (though im not really sure how i ever passed it...) so i figured i'd do amazing, but nope :s Roloc's too good man. Props. Learn alot from the guy. Oh and sorry i havent mentioned it and might be a bit late, but congrats on the baby Miss Wednesday and Roloc. :) You guys are awesome!

No, I was just sh*tting you about that. I'm seriously a 15 year-old guy. One thing you should know about me, is that I love sarcasm.

Monzta: Yeah, I was annoying. I've went through and read my own posts. By the time I was done, I wanted to pull my hair out. I was lucky though; you, Frenchfry, Silver, and a few other people fixed me. I think you'll find me much less annoying than before. I've matured over the years.

Roloc: That was Leo. His name before that was Unbreakable, I think. He changed it not long after I joined, if I'm not mistaken.

I remember the Chibi incident. That was hilarious. Hey Monzta, remember when we were messing around on the IRC channel that one time? I changed my nick to Angel, and someone who obviously wasn't following the chat took a screenshot, and Leo thought that Chibi was back. At the time, I felt kind of bad, but looking back it was hilarious.

The IRC channel was chansey awesome. I have so many good memories from there. I wonder if I still have all of my screenshots on a flash drive somewhere...

Xetroc: That would be the most awesome thing ever.

Also, I remember when deadae and Pokepower were here. There was some seriously funny poop that happened when they were here. I should go back and read some of those posts, I remember laughing my ass off at a lot of the posts that were made.

Also, I'm still working on that thread I was talking about. I'm doing my driver's ed class right now, and also trying to catch up on school. I've been behind schedule all year. I'll get around to it though, I figure I've got time since most people are pretty busy this time of the year anyway.

Hello to all. I was actually worried about this site because every time I tried to enter for the past month, it kept saying 404. Glad to see that it's still alive. Honestly though, this site is by far the best PKMN MMO site I've been on, and the game isn't even out! When I first got here, I didn't really say much. I normally read the chats of topics to get some laughs. Shortly a month after, I ran across a topic that intrigued me enough to join it. it was called "The Dark Ones". next thing everyone knew, i was all over the place, and started making my own topics(even though they died quickly). that alone kept me here, the anticipation of an MMO that actually used data similar to the actual game was a bonus. I still think that everyone who has decided to help with this project shouldn't give up on it. even if life throws curveballs, any help that they give brings this site one step closer to mass success. So don't give in just yet. you still can finish walking your path.

Apologies for it being long, late, or off topic.

Um, hi guys.

Been away for a while due to work related things taking a bit more of my time; this time of the year is the 'busy season' and two weeks ago, I was a crash course for a certification of ISO 27001 (Now I'm a certified ISO 27001:2013 implementer and auditor!). Last week was a bit hectic with an announcement from manager that I was put on an assignment abroad and this week, I'm not in the country but in Madagascar. The internet is not always reliable and the work is a bit new to me, so I'm kind of overflowed with work. I can't believe I'm in a country even less developed than my own xD but oh well, I'll try to survive here for the next 3 weeks to come :P.

After seeing so many notifications in my inbox, I just had to see what was happening around here and I'l glad that the activity is picking up a bit. I hope I'll be able to acquire some new skills for when I too will be ready to be more active and also be able to bring some contribution :)

Keep up the good work!

Wow, I wish Roloc and I could travel, where are you from?

Hey all, glad to see that traffic is back up. I post very seldom (almost said seldomly *shrugs*), but I've just been patiently waiting and glad to hear that it hasn't been all for naught.  :D. I'm not very good at helping out much except for just spreading the word a little bit. Heck, I even suck at Pokemon in general but I just love to play. Hope the motivation continues to grow. I always thought this site was awesome, glad to hear its hasn't stopped progressing!

Wow, i'm always so late to see this topics!

Anyway, should I even have to say what the team has accomplished?

This year, when i started learning philosophy in the 10th grade, my teacher immediately asked the following question:
"What is the point of trying to answer impossible questions?"

I replied, "It is not the outcome that matters  but the road to said outcome, take for example the human dream of building the perfect utopia, it will never happen yet, we keep working towards it. Why? Because on that road, it keeps getting better.
And 2 is closer to 10000000 then 1."

I'm sure you're all young adults with enough insight to understand what i tried to portrait there even though it was written/phrased poorly.

But for those who didn't I'll clarify.

Even if you don't release this game(which i'm completely conviced you will be able to release it) you're working on what noone else has been able to.
Just take a look at most Pokémon MMO's, totally not in depth, non detailed and quite unfun to say so.

You guys and gals, each of you is our "rebellious hero"
No matter what you do decide we've got your backs.

Peace out, "Back to my horrible math studies."
*Vanishes in a totally not artificial pillar of holy light and fire*

I'm new here, but I'm VERY excited about this, if it gets created.  I've been a pokemon fan all my life, and I have never seen a good online MMO.  The last game I played was Diamond and Pearl, because I never got an advanced DS.  This game, however, sounds superb and I truly hope it gets created.  An entire new region with entirely new pokemon, all fanmade?  What's not to get excited about!  Keep up the good work, and thank you for everything!

Sorry, no fan made pokemon. The art and pokemon base stats can be different, but the pokemon are the ones that are already known.

Highly doubtful. Most people probably never even heard of your country before you named it. xD

Read through every single post in this thread.

Anyway, I would just like to say that even though I haven't been around posting here.  I still check the forums ever few days or so to see how things are going and such.  I have a very heavy workload now, mostly due to school. but I miss all of my old friends from this awesome forum.

I remember spending a lot of time in the rp section of the forum.  So many good times were had there.  I am glad I got to actually be a part of getting that started, and also glad to see that people still rp from time to time.

So yeah, I miss ya all,  hopefully in the coming weeks when I'm done with school for the semester I can come back and bug everyone again. :)

I have to admit that looking at what is already up on the forum and facebook, I'm completely filled with joy about what's already accomplished. Every new thing you guys bring and post makes me even more excited about PU than before. :D

I think it really was a great idea to post some maps every now and then on facebook. :)
Would it be an idea to put a contest on facebook (and the forum?) to think of a (creative) environment people would like to see, either explained in text with a less decent map in paint (for the non-mappers) or created with mapmaking programmes?

Good luck to everyone putting effort in Pokemon Universe. :)
