What they could do is have the player "employ" an NPC while offline, that way people can still have access to their pokemon/eggs, and you still get money. Just don't give it to your mom, she'll just spend it on berries and drugs.

I'm really hoping that leaving your pokemon at the Day Care won't be the only way to breed them. Maybe there should an option to buy a house/farm and letting your pokemon run free/have copious amounts of ditto sex

Is there any word on how the economy will work in this game? Do we just go around and beat other trainers or are there other ways to make money?

I now see why it's a bad idea and it would make the game take longer to come out.

Yeah, I can see how it's a bad idea from a technical standpoint. In a perfect world, picking any pokemon as your starter would be possible.... although, in a perfect world, pokemon would be real. lol

Jerry, the starters shouldn't be found in the wild. The starters should be special and not catchable. A good idea is to fight them but not to catch them. Thats the magic from the starters. They are strong, uncatchable and it evolves hard. If you can catch them, you should give us a weedle as starter. Dont destoy the starter poke magic.  ;D
From what I understand, we'll be able to choose from all starters from every current Pokemon game. Why not have an equal number of random "normal" pokemon to choose from just in case someone wants to start with, say a weedle, instead of a charmander?
The magic of a starter is to choose a pokemon that represents your personality. What if my personality is a bellsrpout and not a bulbasaur? I just think we should have the option, is all.

Is there any chance that someone could start with something other than a traditional starter pokemon? say.... a vulpix? I mean this in the sense that you don't catch one, but instead are given one as a starter instead of the usual bulbasaur or chimchar.

Trainers Lounge / Re: Rarity of Pokemon
« on: September 22, 2011, 06:45:02 PM »
I think we should have a certain Pokemon be more rare than others. Although I have some ethical problems with selling Pokemon (don't question it. I love my Pokemon and would never dream of selling any Pokemon for a profit, or at all), I can see how rare Pokemon could help balance the economy of this game; Rarity could be used as a standard for determining the "worth" of a Pokemon.

That being said:

Most people can make it through a Pokemon game (or any game for that matter) without the assistance of a rare Pokemon (henceforth shall be written as rPke). The reason why people like rPke are simply because they're rare; It's not because they're exceptionally good, it's because rPke bring prestige. If someone wants to spend hours looking for a rPke just because they want it, then I think it should be allowed. I think it adds to the experience of the game.

And that's what I think about that =3

Wheres Bunnery?

Look at that cute little fella!
I voted Torchic, Phione and Pikachu. I have to be honest: I had to look up Phione, but I liked what I saw. =P

sorry to spoil the vote but piplup ftw, empolian distroys all :D

Agreed. Although I am sad that Empoleon doesn't have more steel-type moves available to him, I guess he makes up for it by being resistant to just about every other type. lol
