News & Announcements / Re: ALERT! PU NEEDS MOTIVATION!
« on: March 04, 2014, 03:59:29 AM »
Hey all, glad to see that traffic is back up. I post very seldom (almost said seldomly *shrugs*), but I've just been patiently waiting and glad to hear that it hasn't been all for naught.  :D. I'm not very good at helping out much except for just spreading the word a little bit. Heck, I even suck at Pokemon in general but I just love to play. Hope the motivation continues to grow. I always thought this site was awesome, glad to hear its hasn't stopped progressing!

All known pokemon / types

Don't click if you don't want spoilers.

I'm a little disappointed that if you include mega types that less than 90 new pokemon, less than 70 if you dont include mega types. But were the gengar, aerodactyl, abomasnow, gyrados, and gardevoir actually announced? I missed any news of them.

Charizard looks even more like a dragon perhaps it's a sign?

Nope, Mega-Charizard is confirmed Fire/Flying still. At least it'll be a dragon-like Pokemon actually strong against fairy type.

Not to avoid your question, but to spin off of it and go in the opposite direction. I don't think it's fair that Blaziken got a mega evolution. Just for the sake that Blaziken is in a starter evolution-tier, regardless of how cool or uncool some people view that starter's evolution-tier, I just think now everything kinda loses balance with that reveal (unless every other starter will get a mega evolution, which then I approve).

Ok, so fairy?  ???
... I guess....whatever :-\

But I am more saddened by the fact that there is practically no hope for the sound type.

Game Features / Gym order
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:27:46 PM »
I checked the search function and I found a similar topic but the thread (involving world openness) made me think of another question.
In this region I know we will be able to travel all around, although levels of other NPC and encountered pokemon may influence us otherwise. But in turn it made me think about gym order. Between the 17 gyms, will we have to go through a set order?: to get to gym "B" we have to defeat gym "A" first? I know like most of the games some areas will need to be unlocked by using certain moves or HM's to travel to the next area or you can proceed to the gym but a sprite blocks the entrance to the next gym. However, what if you could choose a path to gyms "A" "B" or "C" and complete those in any order, for example. Then a certain item or move or HM or quest takes us to the next area where we could complete gyms "D" "E" "F" and "G" or something like that.

Not trying to dive into gameplay, but just checking if there could be a feature like that or if the mapping would be pretty much straight forward. I know I read somewhere that Miryus would definitely have a series of islands but I obviously don't know how much the islands influence gym placement.

I doubte sound will be a type. Light makes alot more sense to me ,and sound is just kind of....boring? Not much can be done with  sound , and it would be hard to convert many pokemon to sound. Light would be pretty easy to change some pokes types to , either that or maybe some pokes will get light evolutions?

I think it would be easy to create a sound type. It would be easy to identify pokemon to the sound type. The iggly family, possibly clefa family, snorlax could be partial sound, yanma family, whismur family, maybe audio and meloetta both forms would be half sound.

As for moves...there are tons of moves that can be turned into sound type. growl, screech, supersonic, yawn, snore, sing, perish song, roar...and i know there are many more.

Honestly, I'm less convinced of light type than sound type. Although honestly I think they need to wipe clean and restart every pokemon in type evaluations. I'm sure that someone has said this before, but Gyrados comes first to mind.

Namesake. Glaceon. Flareon. Espeon. Umbreon.  Leafeon. They all go back to names, lol

It could be namesake still. If light type pokemon are coming to fruition, then my guess would be Sylveon plays on silver... as in shiny... as in light.

I know its not completely thought out, but there are some names in pokemon that in the english translation I just think...REALLY?!?!?
But with the ribbons and what not, its a good chance for normal or flying is my guess.

Finally made up my mind.... lol
(and yes, I deleted a post from slightly earlier to make some changes)

My gym is going to be a straight path going up four stories with multiple battles along the way. One last battle among the final level.

It is going to be a mixed type,
but all of the first level will be stage one/ baby type pokemon....and an eevee
The second level will be stage two pokemon...and an eevee
The third stage will be stage three pokemon...and an eevee
The final stage will be me as gym leader with the lineup

Vaporeon
Jolteon
Flareon
Umbrereon
Espeon
Leafeon
My badge will be called the Eon badge

I cant decide on my own, so I am just curious to see how other people think... ???

If you were the had your own gym and you were the leader:
What theme would you use for the Pokemon in the gym?
What kind of features/ mechanics would your gym include?
Which Pokemon would trainers in your gym use?
     Which Pokemon would you use?
What would the name of your badge be and what might it look like?

Im a pretty classic guy, I would most likely choose to live in pallet town, but something also fascinates me about living in Curulean for the water pokemon and nugget bridge or Viridian for the tough training that goes on there!

I'd go with Squirtle because I think Blastoise is awesome. It is the definition of Hydro Pump;D

I always go with water starters (except in Pokemon Yellow, obviously. I wish Pikachu was an option  :'( ), although I haven't played all of the games yet.
