Completed Reports / #028 - Sandslash
« on: February 05, 2012, 04:58:28 pm »
Name: Sandslash
Number: 028
Type: Ground

Abilities:
Sand Veil / Sand Rush / Analytic

Base Stats:
90 / 100 / 110 / 45 / 70 / 65

Level Up Move Edits:
+ Curse

Move Tutor/TM Move Edits:
None

Egg Move Edits:
None

Example Set 1
Sandslash (M) @ Leftovers / Lum Berry
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Night Slash

Explanation of Set:
A valid Rapid Spinner set for the metagame. Swords Dance on the switch and defeat every Ghost-type in the tier in one or two hits with a combination of Earthquake and Stone Edge while avoiding a burn from Will-O-Wisp with its Lum Berry. Upon either defeating or scaring out the opposing Ghost-type Pokemon, Sandslash is then free to Rapid Spin unimpeded. Although the primary aim of this set is to Rapid Spin, it has more than this niche use; Sandslash is very powerful after a Swords Dance, and has the bulk to boost multiple times and function as a powerful wallbreaker.

Example Set 2
Sandslash (M) @ Leftovers / Metronome / Life Orb
Trait: Analytic
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Protect / Toxic / Rapid Spin

Explanation of Set:
With Analytic Sandslash has become a threat out of sandstorm aswell as in it. As long as Sandslash moves last, its moves have an increased power of 30%; Gyro ball 195 power and Earth Quake 130 power + STAB.
Curse is there to OP your attack while making sure you're moving last. This should make the held item 'Lagging Tail' obselete in this set. And you can therefor either focus on health from Leftovers or even more raw power from Metronome/Life Orb.
The 4th move slot is rather open to what your team needs in coverage. All good moves.

Sunny Form @ Life Orb
Modest
Forecast
252 Speed / 252 Sp.Atk / 4 Hp
- Weather Ball
- Energy Ball / Solarbeam
- Tunder / Thunderbolt
- Cheer up

Explanation of Set 1
This set is mainly for use on Sun Teams. Fire, Grass and Electric has pretty good synergy. Also, this set takes care of Politoed should he ruin your fun by changing the weather. Castform will immediately gain a water typing and can attempt to KO the opposing teams weather inducer with Energy Ball and Thunder/Thunderbolt. Thunder may be preferred if you're facing a rain team, but thats not always the case so Thunderbolt is still a good option. Cheer Up is there to hopefully find a place to gain a boost in your SP.ATK if you force a switch.

Snatch
Magic Coat
Focus Punch
Sucker Punch

Explanation of Set 1
If you know how to predict your opponent down to the detail, you'll be able to use this set. It's entire goal is to act out of what you think your opponent is about to do to you. Snatch will provide you with boosts and Magic Coat will provide a prober defense against Toxic and similar moves.
You have Focus Punch and Sucker Punch in your arsenal to take on the different foes.

Example Set 2
Revenger @ Choice Band
252 Attack / 252 Speed / 4 Hp
Color Change, Adamant
Shadow Claw
Retaliate
(Filler)
(Filler)

Explanation of Set 2
The main thing to this set is the STAB use of Retaliate which with Choice Band will deal an enormous amount of damage if this little guy is switched in after one of your Pokemon has died.
Your opponent might suspect this when you switch in Kecleon and Shadow Claw is therefore added incase he switches in a Ghost type.

Body Slam (E/FR/LF move tutor)
Fire Punch (P/HG/SS move tutor)
Ice Punch (P/HG/SS move tutor)
Iron Head (P/HG/SS move tutor)
Thunderpunch (P/HG/SS move tutor)

Egg Move Edits:
None

Example Set 1
Hariyama @ Life Orb
4 HP / 252 ATK / 252 SPE
Sheer Force, Adamant
- Fire Punch
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch
- Force Palm

Explanation of Set
Taking advantage of Hariyama's huge amount of attack power and mulitplying that with Sheer Force, Life Orb and STAB and you get some pretty decent moves that will do a huge amount of damage.
 - Fire Punch: 75P * 1,3SF * 1,3LO = 126,75Power
 - Force Palm: 60P * 1,3SF * 1,3LO * 1,5STAB = 152,1Power
Sheer Force negates the Life Orb recoil damage and thus making this set a decent one for an all around attacker.

Example Set 2
Hariyama @ Toxic Orb / Flame Orb
252 ATK / 80 SPE / 178 SPD
Guts, Adamant
- Fake Out
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch / Stone Edge
- Payback

Explanation of Set
This set is the Hariyama Standard more or less. Once again we take advantage of his huge attack power and turn it into somethign deadly. However, this time we have more damage but also recoil.
 - Payback: 100P * 1,3LO = 130Power
 - Close Combat: 120P * 1,3LO * 1,5STAB = 234Power

Example Set 3 - By Fred
Hariyama @ Life Orb
252 ATK / 128 SPD / 128 DEF
Sheer Force, Adamant
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Focus Punch/Close Combat/Force Palm

Explanation of Set
This set is similar to set 1, but assumes that Hariyama isn't going to be winning any speed races. Instead, he is given more defence to take the hits he will invariably have to face. Earthquake is instead of Thunderpunch to give better coverage, and will still get the life orb boost without the damage thanks to sheer force. Focus Punch and Close Combat also only get the life orb boost, but have incredible base power anyway. Choosing between these is a matter of preference, if you think you can out predict your opponent, Focus Punch; if you don't mind losing defence when you attack, Close Combat; otherwise, Force Palm.

Development / [April Fools] Not enough Pokemon!
« on: April 01, 2011, 08:07:16 am »
APRIL FOOLSConsidering this is a MMO, we have been forced to face the truth that we do NOT have enough Pokemon for an entire game.

We therefor open up for new Pokemon input, meaning that if you contribute some artwork, the balance team, will do its best to have said new Pokemon implemented in the game as soon as possible.

Above you see the first new Pokemon that we have accepted. (By Astrid)

We do not accept written ideas - only artwork, and only this week as of now.

APRIL FOOLS
Note: Goat was found on the internet, and is not made by Astrid. Credits goes to the real artist.
