Balance Server Testing / PO V2 Error Fixing thread
« on: September 26, 2013, 08:34:24 PM »
This is to everyone. While looking at movesets, Roloc and I noticed a lot of missing moves, or moves placed in the wrong category. This thread is for everyone that wishes to help. I am currently working gen 1 right now, but there will be reserved spots for the other gens.

How to submit:

-Compare the completed report with the pokemon in the teambuilder on V2 using our mod

-If a move is missing, write it down as missing

-If a move is in the wrong category, put "Not in [category name]" for example, butterfree has roost in the tutor category, but PO has it under "dreamworld". This can cause conflicts with movesets.

-If stats are wrong, state so

-If Abilities are wrong, state so

Other Roleplay / [OOCC] Poisoned Utopia Remastered
« on: September 10, 2013, 03:17:29 AM »
Any and all out of character Discussions will be held here. All additional RP details are here as well, and will be divided into sections on this post. If any change is made, it will be added here.

GM- Cortex J
Sub Gm- Blades

Locations

*Note: The following are the locations in the RP. Traveleing between each sector takes one post, and traveleing to the town of that sector requires another post. For example, if going from Sai town to Junk Village, you post a total of three times. One for exiting Sai town, one fro traveling to Pit Sector, and one for traveling to Junk Village.

Northern Underlands- Colder than the other areas of the underlands, this place experiences snowfall every once in a while.

+ Sai Sector- A small trading town is located here, called Sai. The surrounding area is covered in a large amount of snow as this sector is further north along the border. The town contains many kinds of merchants, as well as a medical center and blacksmith.

+ Pit Sector- located southwest of the said sector, this area contains a large crater that is believed to be the blast zone for the first strain of the virus. Junk Village is located within the crater, and as the name suggests, is mostly made of junk and scrap. Scavengers and machine workers live here, and the surrounding area is littered with piles of junk left behind by Utopia.

+ Sector 0- Located Southeast of the Sai Sector. An old lab complex is stationed here, protected by a few Golem. The rest of the landscape is dotted with broken transport vehicles and robots. Scavengers can be found here constantly.

West Underlands Abandoned buildings dot the landscape here.

+Callin's Sector- Mayor Callin's town, located to the far west along the border, is the main location of this sector. Inside is an arena in which people go to for fame and fortune, and is one of the few places that has actual laws. The area itself is located by a large mountain, which brings a nice breeze to the area.

+Wetlands- Located northeast of Callin's Sector, this area has high levels of rainfall from the increased cloud coverage from the north. Marsh Town is at the center, and the people here have made a living fishing for Mudskitters, the local edible monsters. This place is muddy.

+ Yontela Sector- Southeast of Callin's Sector, this area is mostly home to the poverty stricken people of the Underlands. They have settled into the rundown buildings of the countries old capitol, Yontela City. The surrounding area is almost as barren as the city, and few outsiders ever come here due to the rumors of thieves roaming the lands.

Eastern Underlands A natural area that consists of vast, open lands.

+ Hope Sector- Located far east of the Underlands, along the border, this place is home to the hidden rebel base. The town here is managed by Archie, and the laws here are meant to protect the citizens. The surrounding area is a vast meadow, which is said to bring Hope to all that travel through here.

+ Ragnal's Sector- Northwest of the Hope Sector, this sector also recieves rainfall from the north. There is a lakeside town here, known as Ragal's Town, and High Overlord Ragnal rules with an iron fist. The town is known for the large amount of robots here, and houses a medical clinic and Robotics factory. Ragnal's Laws apply here, and only here.

+ Black Sector- Southwest of Hope Sector, this area is well known as a literal concrete jungle. A variety of monsters live here, and no town lies here due to the high activity. The buildings that dot the landscape are mostly abandoned, but few dare to enter.

Southern Underlands Hot and humid area, this area has a natural mountain landscape.

+Hark's Sector- At the very south of the Underlands, this area belongs to Hark. The City of Hark is a great place to gain some new weaponry, but at a high price. The sector is mostly home to Humans, and is not as welcoming to monsters and chosen. The landscape is protected by large walls.

+Jagged Sector- Northwest of Hark's Sector, this place is inhospitable due to the sharp rocks that litter the terrain. The one path that leads between Hark and Yontela is known to have rock slides.

+Deadzone Sector- Only the worst of the worst live here, and this is located Norheast of Hark's sector. The City of Doom is located here, and only exiles make a home here. They are in a constant power struggle with each other.

Utopia

The flying city flying above the center of the the country. The looming shadow leaves the area below dark, and junk accumulates here as well. Scavengers can be found all around here, and multiple paths are found that lead to the many bordering sectors. The only way in is by Airship, and only those that are worthy are allowed. Utopia has the best technology of the country, and the citizens are generally happy.

Events system

All events will be taken care of by the GM's. There are two kinds of events, side stories, and mini flips:

A side story is a quest that you and a GM work together on for your character. This is purely for roleplay reasons, but not too many can go on at once.

A mini flip is the coin flip event system. Simply request here in the OOCC that you would like something to happen, and the GM will use a coin flip to determine if that event is good or bad. These are small events that only affect the story in a small way.

Getting two out of three heads guarantees something good, while tails means something bad. Three heads means a very good event, while three tails means very bad.

Please use these to your advantage, but don't overdo it as well.

Do not post profiles here! Any profiles posted here without GM approval will be deleted! Please PM your profile to either Cortex J. (GM) or the blades slave (Sub-GM)

Playable Races

Humans- People unaffected by the virus. Though they have no powers whatsoever, they do have an easier time adapting to situations than the other races. They can use both lead and conventional weapons. Life span is 75-80 years

Chosen- Though they have a human appearance, they are not in any way. Each chosen has a power unique to them, and usually has them from birth. They have a weakness to the element lead, which drains both their powers and life force. Touching it can prove fatal. Can use conventional weapons, but unable to use lead based ones. Life Span is 45-50 years

Unique Monsters- Humans mutated beyond recognition, their powers are more physical and vary slightly from each other. They have a higher resistance to lead, but still suffer the same power draining effect. These monsters still retain their human minds. Unable to use lead or conventional weapons. Life span is 100-150 years

Android- Robots made to look like humans the predate the great war. Though they can act human, they can't go against their programming. They are highly susceptible to electrical interference, which can almost completely disable them. Able to use weapons and internal weapons. Life span is ageless, but most are at least 200 years old.

NPC Races/Classes

General Monsters- Any of the creatures that roam in then Underlands. They were more commonly animals that mutated in the same way. Noted monsters are the Zigarex and Grenchlar, which are very common, to the rare Milsot. They range from herbivore, omnivore, and carnivore, and most are usually docile.

General Robots- Remnants of the technological era, robots were the main way to convey status. They usually follow the same programming they once had many years ago, but some brilliant minds were able to reprogram them for their basic needs. Melonies and Security bots are common forms of robots, while the fabled Golem can only be found in areas of great importance.

Paladins of the New World- The elite soldiers of Utopia, they only have one mission: To take over the Underlands and expand their power. Most are genetic super soldiers to help combat the various chosen and monsters found in the Underlands. They are led by the President.

Utopian guard- The police force in Utopia, they are responsible for maintaining the laws. They hold a high standard for following protocol. Security bots make up most of the guard.

Rebels- Fighters in the Underlands that help hold back the paladins. They come in a variety of different races and can be found all over the Underlands. They all share the same goal: To retake Utopia for everyone.

Factions

Rebels- Group of fighters led by Wrench, they all wish the take Utopia and open it for everyone, as well as unify the 12 Sectors of the Underlands.

Paladins of the new World (Utopia)- Led by President Zeta, their goal is to invade the Sectors and expand territory thanks to the recent discovery of Infinium.

Other Roleplay / [RP] Poisoned Utopia Remastered| Night| Clear- Full Moon
« on: September 10, 2013, 02:08:32 AM »
In the year 2183, in a distant land, lies the barren wasteland of a forgotten civilization that once stood at the pinnacle of scientific discovery. This land has been known as the under lands ever since the last war, and out of the ashes rose the city of Utopia, the legendary golden city in the sky. The country has been since populated by the humans, and the result of a massive viral outbreak, the chosen and monsters, along with pre-war androids and robots.

For a time, the Underlands were considered a place of poverty and death, but the recent rise of the 12 Wardens and the sectors, and the discovery of the new element, Infinium, has given reason enough for Utopia to invade, and the rebels to fight harder. A new war is about to erupt, and this one may prove the end of life as we know it.

Rules

1. No God-modding. You are not all powerful. Any God-modding will receive one warning and a chance to edit. Further god-modding will result in a ban from the RP.

2. All posts must be at least a paragraph, or 4 complete sentences. You will receive a warning if a post is too short.

3. Proper grammar and spelling must be used at all times. IF u post liek this, you will recieve a warning. Further errors will result in a ban from the RP. Dialogue can be written in any way, so long as it is easy to read.

4. Your character has a life, and there will always be something to do. If you do not know what to post, request an event from a GM, do not complain that there is nothing to do.

5. Do not ignore other characters in the RP that address your character. If your character is ignoring someone for the story's sake, then simply state so.

6. Have fun :D

*For simplicity sake, all other parts will be posted in the OOCC

** Profiles will have their own set of rules as well.

Fan Fiction & Writing / Utopia: Generation Zero
« on: June 04, 2013, 04:36:27 PM »
A while ago, I did an RP called Poisoned Utopia. This is the story of the group of people twenty years before that RP takes place. For any of you who were part of that, if you want to know where each character was at the time, subtract the age by twenty years. I may include references to some of the characters in the RP. I read through the whole thing, gathering information and now I am ready to show the first part of the story. Hope you all enjoy it.

Note: Some characters simply would not exist in this part of the timeline. I realize this, and know you might be left out. Stay tuned, and you might notice your characters parents, whether they be in a brief introduction, or involved in a deeper way.

I may also restart the RP once this is done.

Long ago, groups of scientists from around the country of Ceres were researching how to make people immortal. From this age of discovery, a virus was designed that would grant this ability to anyone, and anything it was given to. However, a young scientist my the name of Archibald Moore, angered by the loss of his robotics company and funding on his research, went on a full assault with his robots on the bio-medical firm. The resulting attack caused a massive explosion, that scattered an unfinished version of the virus across Ceres and the surrounding territories. Many people died, and those that remained were either immune, or mutated into powerful beings. A few years has passed, and three groups came to be, the Humans who were lucky enough to resist the virus, the Chosen, humans who gained fantastic powers, and the Monsters, grotesque creatures that usually went feral. A war raged between the groups for the remains of Ceres, but slowly died down in a age of peace. Utopia, the flying city, was built as a symbol of peace, and a new era was about to begin. Yet, once the city took first flight, monsters were deemed unworthy, and only a select group of humans and chosen were allowed to live within, thus bringing the death of Ceres, and the birth of the Underlands. Eighty years has passed, and nothing has changed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our story begins in a shack located in the southern sector. Cilus Farren, a young man, hair a crimson red color, wearing a simple black sweater and blue jeans, is sitting lazily on his bed. He has strings wrapped around his fingers, and moving them around out of boredom. As he yawns, he decides to check for his brother, Dagen, who went out to find some food.
"Hmm, let's see..." He activates his power, manipulating the strings with his mind. Outside are many machines and traps, all connected to the chosen. He concentrates his mind's eye on the broken robot wearing the head of a zigarex, looking to the east, "Nope, not there..." He moves on to a camera lens placed in a tree, checking the west, "Not there either. Dagen, where are you?" In the silence, one of the bells in the shack rings. A sensor has been tripped. Cilus knows it's coming from the north, and readies his defenses. Two robots carrying crude clubs are moved into position. Cilus looks through one of their eyes, and notices a figure running towards his home. It was a man with long blonde hair, wearing an open long coat with a white t-shirt and grey jeans. His left arm has a crude claw device with a battery attached to it. Dagen has returned.
"Cilus, unlock the door!" He yelled as he came closer. Cilus jumped up and removed the board that allowed them safety. Dagen burst in, and slammed the door shut, sealing the door. "Brother, what happened?" Dagen gritted his teeth, and looked out the window from the direction he was running. He responded in a half panicked way, "I may have pissed off some people. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I think they followed me." Cilus knew what this meant. His brother had been caught stealing again. His fist clenched, and he couldn't help but to punch Dagen in the back of the head. "Ow, what the hell, Cilus!" Cilus was breathing heavily, "Dagen, I wish you wouldn't resort to stealing. Every time you do, we have to leave another home. I'm tired of running, and want to live somewhere longer than a couple weeks."
"He went this way! There's some kind of shack." A small group of men, armed with swords and knives, approached the shack as well, surrounding it. Cilus was too distracted to try and stop them. One of the men started to kick at the door. "Come out of there, you little bastard! I'm going to chop off your hand and feed it to you!"
"Get away from here. I don't want to hurt you, but if you decide to stay, I'll have no choice."
The attackers laughed. One of them came up to the window, and smashed it, grabbing a hold of Cilus in the process. Dagen became enraged, and grabbed the culprit's arm with his clawed hand.
"Let him go!" Dagen activated his power, sending a surge of electricity into the unknown man's arm. The man keeled back in pain, and his skin was singed where Dagen grabbed it. Dagen jumped through the broken window, tackling his victim to the ground. He grabbed him around the throat, and let out another surge, killing him. The other men started to back away slowly. Dagen rose and looked at them.
"Unless any of you want to end up like your friend, I suggest you leave now." Dagen was fuming. Cilus looked out the window. This has gotten out of hand.
"Dagen, stop! You don't have to do this! All of you, just leave, please." The men ran from the shack, vowing to return with a bigger group to settle this.
Cilus came out of the shack, angry and frightened. He had everything packed. Dagen calmed down, and nodded towards his brother. They left their home behind once again, setting out towards the east. Neither could say a word to each other.
Other Games / Your Best (and worse) Moments in Video Games
« on: May 16, 2013, 06:18:02 PM »
Simple discussion thread where you get to tell us all about the best things you have done, and the worst things that have happened to you in any video game. We all had those moments one day or another, and sometimes those moments need to be shared, either for their level of awesome, or how hilarious they were. I will provide three of my best right now, and three of my worst, and then everyone can share theirs. Go ahead and comment on others as well if you find it particularly funny, or had the same thing.
My Best
The Magnificent Archer
One day while playing team fortress 2, back when I played a lot of it, I ran into a cp_gorge match. I went demoman of course, since I like to make things blow up. Well, upon getting to the point, I was struck down by a sentry, built on that one ledge over the entrance. Now, I did about three more attempts, all of which failed miserably. I got tired of it, and switched to my sniper class, with the huntsman. Upon leaving the base, I went to the right and up the ramp to take the far path towards the point. I shot an arrow through the door for some odd reason, and an enemy sniper walked right into it, headshot. I continued on, and a spy appeared and tried to backstab me, but I had my shield, and killed him with the kukri. I went down the stairs to see an enemy heavy firing away at the entrance. One arrow out, and he was pinned on the wall. I turned my attention to the sentry, which had not seen me yet. I figured if I shot it, the engineer would repair it, then alert his team. So, I primed an arrow, and took the shot, killing the engineer with a headshot. I then dropped the sentry with two arrows, allowing my team to catch the first point, and move forward to get the second in a matter of seconds, thanks to a number of spies that decided to wait at the second point for us.
The random exploding head
This one is from playing Fallout: New Vegas. At the beginning, I had just finished making my character, and putting his skills so he is effective with explosives. When I finally got up off the couch, I took one step forward, and my head exploded. Out of the blue. Just, BOOM. I wasn't mad though, I was too busy laughing to care. I imagined what my character was thinking (because he had a little personality), he woke up, knows there is a bomb in his head, ready to take him out, and he can only answer the doctors questions. If the doctor asks about a headache, he can say there is a bomb, and get it taken care of. But the doc didn't, and now, he has no choice but to embrace death. At least he's going out in a classy way (in his underwear).
*Note, sometimes a bad moment can count as the best
Conga line... OF DEATH
This one is from a game called Cold Winter. It was one of the first FPS I played. On one of the levels (I have no time to look up what it was called), I had a wave of enemies coming after me. Knowing I'm very well screwed, I took cover in  room with only one entrance. The enemies came in, one by one, and with each one, I had my pistol, one head shot after another, until they were all dead. When the wave was done, I walked out of the room with twenty dead bodies in a pile, and went on to complete the mission. If I had a recording, I would have conga music playing in the background, just to make that moment more epic.
The Worst
SSBB Buttwhoop
Super smash bros will always be my favorite game by nintendo. However, I had a friend that did everything he could to ruin it for me. He played MLG, and showed no mercy. Well, one match, I went with mario, and he went with marth. I was pretty frustrated about the one hundred losses before hand. Well, this was a stock match, and the odds were in my favor. We both managed to get each other down to one life, something I never done to him before. I hit him with my three hit combos, and racked up enough damage to hit him with my finisher, and simple fireball smash attack. Just as the attack hit, he blocked, the grabbed me, tossed me away, and proceeded to pin me into a corner, and hit away before finishing me with his flying sword special. I had him, but I lost.
Mewtwo ain't got time for that
I was playing heart gold, and got to mewtwo. I brought in all dark pokemon because I knew he couldn't harm them with his one move. I widdled him down to about one quarter health, and spammed all the pokeballs I had to catch him, but he popped out, every time. This went on for about an hour, and each time, he escaped the tiny container. I had no masterballs, just a bunch of pokeballs, a few ultraballs, and one heavy ball. It's as if the game didn't want me to have him. Well, he got me down to the heavy ball. This was my last chance, and he is pretty close to struggle at this point. I tossed my ball,it made contact. One... so far so good...Two... come on... Thr *pop*. He escaped, then went into struggle, killing himself in the process. Well played mewtwo.
Forever die on load
In a game called Darkened Skye (I got it for 5 bucks, and though some say it's not worth it, I rather enjoyed it.) Well, the woman, Skye, couldn't swim. I got to a level that had water everywhere. I fell in the water, and when the load screen came up, I accidentally hit save. No problem, surely they programmed it so that you spawn away from the water. Once I loaded, I seen Skye drowning, over and over again. All my progress up to that point, all the things I killed, the potions I found, THE SKITTLE, gone. I had to start over. All because I hit save instead of load.
In-Forum Games / The Box Game
« on: April 26, 2013, 03:41:08 PM »
This is a simple game. There is an indestructible box. Your mission is to do everything you can to destroy the box. However, there are a few rules.
1. You can't say the box is destroyed, as this would end the game.
2. You may attack the box any way, and say it moves in any way.
3.Your attack must be slightly more impressive than the last attack. So, no going from punching to nuke.
3. No double posting
I'll start:
I kick the box high into the air.
This is the out of character for the RP. All extra things will be explained here, and this is your main source for communicating with the other players. You can also live chat with players on the PO balance server, in the RP talking channel. Any and all questions will be answered in this post block.
Notes
What if I don't know what weapon to choose?
Here is a list proposed by darkstar. Just google image search one that seems interesting. Note, swords are left out due to an overabundance of sword weapon profiles.
-Spear
-Knife
-Battle Axe
-Warhammer
-Flail
-Boomerang
-Pistol
-Shotgun
-Rifle (Sniper or otherwise)
-Blunderbuss
-Bow
-Crossbow
-Trident
-Claws
-Maces/Clubs
-Shield
-Chainsaw
-Sickle
-Whip
-Scythe
-Lance
-Cannon (a heavy, handheld one)
-Heavy Arms (like boxing gloves but metal)
-Halberd (a long axe with a spear on the end)
-Fan (Like a Japanese fan, the kind with blades on the end)
-Bowgun (Light, Medium, and Heavy, though I wouldn't recommend heavy)
-Yoyo (Yoyos can be pretty deadly, since they originally had blades that came out when you threw them)
-Switch Axe (A giant, heavy axe with a blade on the other side which can swing around to make it become a heavy cleaver)
Hopefully, that will give you some ideas if you don't have any or needed help finding one.
RP is Full! Last spot is reserved!
Profile notes
You must make two profiles for your characters. You can't be partners with another persons profile. This ensures simplicity and prevents the excuse "I'm waiting for such and such to make a post. " If you schoose to be a lone weapon, you only need one profile.
Your weapon character can be no larger than eight feet in weapon form, and must remain only one kind of weapon.
If you meister dual wields ( like death the kid), your weapon profile must include both names of the weapon. Example:
Name: Rocky and Ricky
Age: 25 (Twins {if not twins, put the age of the name that comes first, then the age of the second name.})
Weapon type: Dual claws
Soul attacks
Soul resonance- This is the combined attack. Soul resonance starts at level one, and increase to level three (EX. Witch Hunter -> Genie Hunter -> Kishin Hunter). It will be upgraded as the RP continues. The GM's will determine when this level up occurs. Your soul resonance can be anything you can think of, and counts as a single use move per battle.
Soul Burst- Lone weapons have a soul burst. Since this is not combined power, you may use this multiple times per battle. Soul bursts only level up once, and will be determined by the GM when it will level. Can also be anything you wish.
Other Roleplay / [Closed] Soul Eater RP| Time : Afternoon
« on: April 19, 2013, 05:26:49 PM »
Plot: Ten years after Asura was defeated, Death thought it would be best to open a new school in the east. This school was exactly like the old one, except is lead by his son, Death the Kid. After twenty years, it has become a perfect rival to the western school, even participating in contests of strength and wisdom. You have been granted permission to attend this school, where you will work with your weapon to collect 99 Kishin eggs, and one witch soul to make the perfect weapon. Good luck students of EDWMA, as with all that deal with souls, evil waits around the corner.
Setting: This RP takes place in an exact copy of the old school, located in new death city. Your missions will take you around the entire world, where you will fight Kishins of different varieties.
Rules:
1. No Godmodding. Your character is not all powerful, and not all knowing. Any Godmodding will result in a warning, and further infractions will result in being kicked.
2. Use proper grammar and spelling. If U post liek this, you will be asked to revise it, or it will be revised for you. Refusal to revise, or continued use will result in being kicked. Character dialogue can be typed in any style, so long as it is readable.
3. No flaming, no cussing, and no trolling. Words like hell and damn are fine when used in context, but more extreme words are not allowed.
4. All posts must be at least 4 complete sentences. These include actions, narrative, and dialogue. You will have enough to make four sentences. Short posts will be asked to be revised.
5. You do not control battles with the Kishins. The GM's (Cortex and Blades) will play as the Kishins. This will ensure there are no one hit kills.
6. Be creative and have fun. :)
Other Games / [3DS/PSP] Unchained Blades
« on: January 11, 2013, 06:17:02 PM »
Genre: RPG
Players: Single Player
Wifi: No
Release date:
(PSP) June 26, 2012
(3DS) Jan. 3, 2013
Metagame score: 6.1
My score: 5.5
Yet another game I chose to write a small review for, I bought this game on the release date for 3DS from the E shop, and I must say, it is interesting. Unchained blades follows a series of story arcs that tie into each other, as well as bringing an anime feel to the role playing element.
Gamplay:
The game is a first person dungeon crawling game. The movement takes some getting used to, but navigating is not impossible. Dungeon maps are revealed with each step, and random encounters may happen from time to time. There are quests you can take to make the dungeon crawl seem more productive, but there are too few at times, and you must do certain events to unlock more. Over all, it feels like a constant level grind, and thus, takes away from the experience.
The skills system is not too complicated, but acquiring a skill does not mean you can use it immediately. Some skills require the right Anima, which is only provided by followers you can recruit during your dungeon crawling.
Though the game play is tedious at times, it does have it's moments. The comic relief can is enough to make you want a little more, and winning a fight when on the verge of death can feels satisfying.
Battle:
The battle system is turn based, where speed is the deciding factor on order. In it are many options, and real strategy is taken into consideration. The skills a master can learn can decide a battle. There is also a chance to "Unchain" and enemy, which is like catching a pokemon, but needs to meet certain conditions before it can commence. These unchained monsters then become followers, who have anima to make other skills usable.
At most times, a battle will not yield any experience. This is due to a simple leveling clause. If you're too high a level, you can't get experience from weaker monsters. This almost forces you to seek out stronger mosters, which often can rip your party apart easily.
Death is not forgiven in this game. If every master in your party dies, it's game over. If you didn't save often, you have to go back from your last save point, which can make hours of progress lost easily. If one of your masters die, then you must take a walk back to town to revive them early on in the game, as items to revive a person from death are pretty much reserved for later in the game.
Battling can get tense, but is still enjoyable in itself. I'm not saying it's all bad.
The game is not perfect, but it is a good way to pass the time. You can overlook the many flaws within the game, and once you figure it out, things seems to get easier. Defeating tough enemies is satisfying, and actually recruiting them is even more so. The story is well written, and the characters are enjoyable. I recommend this as a casual game to escape to while waiting to do something else.
If you already have the game, how about sharing strategies, or rave about it as well. If you don't have the game, take some time to think about it.
Pokémon Roleplay / [OOCC] Pokemon Guardians
All discussion about the RP will take place here.
Keep in mind that this RP is meant to be a practice RP for new players, as well as be a refresher for more experienced players. Constructive criticism is welcome, as we all want to get better at this.
Pokémon Roleplay / [Profiles] Pokemon Guardians
« on: December 24, 2012, 07:50:58 AM »
Do not post profiles here. Send them as a PM to the GM. All profiles posted without GM consent will be deleted!
The following are the profiles skeletons for the RP. There are specific guidelines for your character to follow. You are only allowed one active character at a time.
Factions
Aura Guardians: The lawful good protectors of Sinnoh. Each one is a highly trained battler who work in harmony with their partner pokemon. They are located in temples all around the region, and offer their services free of charge.
Order of Darkness: The chaotic evil destroyers. Their mission is to find a way to free their master Darkrai, and plunge the world in never ending darkness and nightmares. They operate in secret, and are responsible for assassinations, uprisings, and widespread destruction.
Aura Powers
All trainers have the power of aura. Aura is what links the trainer to their pokemon. Below is a lost of powers that are used by a trainers aura.
Aura Healing: Able to heal injuries that a pokemon or human has taken. The target must keep still, as any disturbance can break the cycle, and interupt the concentration of the healer. The healer can't self heal, and must seek out a healer.
Aura sense: Able to sense the auras of all living things within a short range. These individuals can mask their won auras, allowing them to hide from others with the same power. However, all auras look the same, and can make it hard to differentiate enemies from friends.
Aura seek: Able to see long distances in a single direction. Perfect for recon style characters. The singular direction makes it hard to pay attention to close quarter surroundings.
Aura barrier: Allows the user to summon a protective barrier for a short time. The barrier can break from devastating attacks, and prolonged use causes fatigue and distorted senses.
These are a few. You may suggest a power, but it will be analyzed before being added to the list.
Equipment
Weapons are allowed in this RP, however, they will be used in conflicts with trainers and pokemon alike. You are limited to swords, daggers, shields, armor, and the like.
Pokemon
You may use any pokemon from gen 1-5 that is not on the banlist in the RP rules. Your pokemon may be anything that evolves within 20 levels. Higher level pokemon will have to be trained to that point.
For example, you may start with a charmeleon (lv16), but you can't start with a charizard (lv 36).
*Note: GM's and Subs will have higher level pokemon, as well as legendary characters. These are meant to 1. Bring a sense of plot for the RP. 2. Prevent other players from one shotting the Gm's whose characters are important to the RP storyline. Gm's and subs will be active. Legendary characters will be part of special events.
Plot: Long before the age of technology, before we knew pokemon as it is today, there were a group of people known as Aura Guardians who shared a bond with pokemon like no other. These masters of aura fought to protect the world for all living beings. However, with every good cause, evil lurks to plunge the world into chaos. The Order of Darkness, villains who abuse the power of aura, wish the bring darkness across the land in a never ending nightmare, all in the name of Darkrai.
Follow in the steps of the guardians, or walk the path of destruction as a dark soldier. Decide the fate of Sinnoh in the long lived battle of Good versus Evil.
Map
Sinnoh Region
Towns
Twinleaf- A small town located near Verity Lakefront. It is dotted with small wooden houses. Though it lacks an inn, the citizens are known for their kindness and hospitality.
Sandgem- This fishing village is said to have the finest fish in all of Sinnoh. The villagers have mastered net fishing. The inn is famous for serving a plate of fish with every room rented.
Jubilife- The bustling city marked with strong stone houses. The orphanage is located here, though it has begun to fall apart. The weapons produced here are considered the best of the region, but the most expensive as well.
Oreburgh- A mining town that provides coal for all of Sinnoh. Miners here work together with Machoke and Excadrill. The Oreburgh temple sage is currently studying the minerals that come from the mine, as well as documenting strange rocks that contain bones of pokemon (fossils).
Death valley (Floaroma)- A barren wasteland that holds nothing special. The residents here are working to make it livable, though efforts have proven futile.
Eterna- A town known for its rich culture. The statue of Palkia and Dialga is the main attraction. and many people pray to the pokemon. The Eterna Temple sage is trying to unlock the secrets of the Ancient Pokemon.
Hearthome- Though there is nothing particularly special about this town, the people note how happy pokemon seem to be when they pass through. Even the most aggressive Primape become calm. The Hearthome Temple trains guardians to master their aura powers, and the sage studies the bond between master and pokemon.
Solaceon- A lone house exists here, where a pokemon master is willing to train humans and pokemon to work in perfect harmony. The ruins are home to Unown, as well as rumored to house other secrets.
Veilstone- The entire city is the main HQ of the guardians. The leader resides here, managing every temple, as well as keeping his knights in prime form. The Sage here helps with training guardians further, and is considered the wisest of all of them.
Patoria- A marshland that is used as a guardian field training ground. The temple sage studies the different pokemon that come and go from this land.
Celestic- A peacful village that tracks other myths of Sinnoh. The shrine is considered a sacred place, and offerings are left for Arceus to keep Sinnoh safe.
Canalave- The port town that is the trading center of Sinnoh. Resources from other regions pass through here. The towns people can be seen swimming in the waters by the ships. The Canalave Temple sage is on a mission to document all things that happen in Sinnoh, and store it in the Canalave Library for all to use.
Snowpoint- An ice covered village where villagers are known to be tough and cold. The Snowpoint Temple sage keeps a close eye on Regigigas, who he believes once tried to destroy the village.
Sunnyshore- A rocky beach that has been changed into a town for inspiration. The villagers here have made many new innovations to make life easier. The sage here has a collection of mystical artifacts that she works tirelessy to unlock secrets from.
Full Moon Island- The land of darkness, it serves as the base for the Order of Darkness. Getting to this island has proven impossible for ships, and only the dark soldiers know how to get to and from this place.
Crescent Moon Island- Home of the legendary pokemon Cresselia, it has been recently abandoned by the pokemon for an unknown. The lunar wings that used to be available in abundance are pretty much gone.
For RP's sake, the following will be changed
Inns- All pokemon centers will be called Inns. They do offer healing services, but they charge money for room services.
Temples- All pokemon Gyms will be called Temples. They are where the Aura guardians are stationed, as they are the main protectors of Sinnoh. The main temple is located in Veilstone.
Markets- Poke marts are markets. Though this seems like a minor change, keep in mind that poke balls and potions do not exist. They mainly sell trainer equipment and pokemon food. All markets have a blacksmith, an alchemist, and a tavern.
Canalave Library: All written knowledge is contained here, with scrolls and books containing important historical texts, as well as legends passed down from generation to generation.
Valley windworks, Fuego Ironworks and the pokemon league do not exist. Full moon and crescent moon island are considered locations as well, just past Iron Island.
6. Be creative and have fun.
