Neicha stopped at the edge of a clearing. She spotted fire, and some silhouettes of humanoid animals. "Thank you Kaiyos I really appreciate it" Neicha whispered. "No problem! Good luck." She heard his voice getting further and further away. She turned her head back to the camp. Her ears lowered. "... Yeah... I definitely need it..." She hated attempting to interact with people, whether they were beastmen or not. She took a breath. Then stood up. "E-excuse me for intruding..." She face palmed in her mind. She had this pictured way differently. Now she seemed like some awkward deer. All faces were turned her way. It startled her and she was nervously holding onto the mask that rested on top of her head. "M-my name is Neicha. Neicha Felwood. A wandering herbalist..." She proceeded.

Neicha was scanning through the book once again. She wanted to read it so badly, she almost forgot why she obtained it. She snapped out of it when the goddess spoke up. Closing the book and putting it in her satchel. Most of the group had to go to the same area. Everyone agreed to go to their assigned area right away.
"Alright Kaiyos, would you mind giving me a little help? I'm not that used to these legs yet so I'm not really fast."
With that the spirit nodded dissipating before her eyes. Neicha felt a cool breeze. Kaiyos' voice reached her mind.
Just start heading in the direction that feels right and I'll do the rest!"
Neicha looked around. Then she went off her body felt somewhat lighter as she walked swiftly using her staff as support to prevent herself from falling over.

Looking around the deer saw everyone getting equipment. Mostly for self-defense. She figured they would need it because it would be a dangerous journey. But pretty much everyone almost seemed to break their back at the sudden amount of weight thrown on them. On the other hand, they would get exactly what they needed for their journey. Neicha's nervousness calmed down at that statement. She slowly closed her eyes.
Give me that which I require for my journey.
After she thought the last word, her satchel attempted to pull her down to the ground by the sudden change in weight. If it wasn't for her walking stick she would've fallen to the ground. She opened to see what had caused the sudden increase in weight, out of the satchel she pulled a large tome. She opened it on a random page to see the contents, instantly realizing it was a tome about all the herbs of this land. Her eyes grew wide while her ears raised up. She put the book back in the satchel and looked for other changes, her walking stick had transformed into a staff. And on her left side a long sword was slung at her hip. She nodded thankfully at the goddess, taking a little bow.

Carefully listening to what the goddess had to say she slowly slid the mask back up her head so her face became visible. From what the goddess said, this meant she was still sleeping in her hut. When she gestured everyone to sit down Neicha sat down on the rocks. The idea of worlds colliding seemed impossible, but so far nothing made sense at all. The fact that she was chosen to stop this cataclysm from happening made her lower her ears. Just what she wanted, more responsibility... And the fact that she could get injuries and actually die in her dreams kind of was scary. She hated when people put their lives and hopes on her shoulders. It was a large burden. And so far she wasn't even able to make any progress at all, what makes the goddess think she is suitable for a task to stop two worlds from colliding. She's a simple beast that couldn't even prevent humans from destroying her own home when she was still one of them. She was ready to refuse to help.

Before she could open her mouth one of the humans already spoke up. He too wanted to refuse finding himself incompetent for the task. She didn't blame him. The situation seemed hard to grasp. Besides, Neicha believed she had to focus on restoring the others from being a beast. Then she realized something. This IS the world of magic. Perhaps she could find answers to turning them all back into humans right here, in this world. Her ears raised at the thought of it.
"Um... I-I am not really that useful either... I just know somewhat about herbs... I'm not really sure how I can help worlds from colliding... But I might want to try and see what I can do. Just don't expect too much... There is just something I need to find out..."
She was nervously fidgeting with the stick in her hands.

Neicha had just returned to the village. Welcomed by the rest of the beast-men. Her joints were tired from venturing through the forest.
"Neicha, you should stop venturing on your own through the woods. At least take an escort with you. What would you do if you got lost?"
Said one that had the face of a wolf. Neicha rolled her eyes. She'd rather didn't bother anyone to come with her, and besides. Her sense of direction was ridiculous. Even when she starts doubting herself she still manages to get home without getting sidetracked. But she knew most of the people were mostly worried about her because she had some kind of knowledge about herbs. And one of their hopes on returning to normal. Neicha didn't like having that kind of burden brought on her shoulders, it seemed like a lot of responsibility, and besides it almost looked like they gave up on finding a way to turn back themselves. She did agree to help them find a way to turn back to normal humans, even though she herself had no interest in turning back into a human herself. Most humans were greedy beings in her eyes, that try and take everything from each other. Her eyes narrowed at that thought.
"Well if you excuse me, I have some work to do."
Having said that, she pulled herself up with the walking stick. The hunting group just returned from deeper woods, with enough prey to keep the carnivores satisfied. Neicha already shivered just taking a quick glance at their catches. One of the reasons she didn't want an escort to go with her. The majority of villagers were carnivores. She didn't even dare to think of what it would look like how one of them killed an animal right before her eyes. Therefore, she was glad she was a herbivore.

Once she arrived at her secluded hut she tossed her satchel on the table. She sat down on a chair and inspected the herbs she gathered.
"Belladonna, Wolfsbane... Silver leaf... Mageroyal..."
Skimming through the herbs in the bag she didn't really find anything helpful. Another 'fruitless' exploration through the woods. Most herbs she found were either deadly on consuming, or had healing effects. They would be very useful for safekeeping. With a sigh she rested her head in her hands on the table. Outside the dusk was already coming. Neicha wasn't really hungry and she didn't feel like seeking through all the herbs if she find anything new yet. She stood up swaying a bit, holding onto the walls to remain in balance, carefully walking to the bed. dropping herself onto the stacks of fur skins. The villagers insisted she took some since they didn't want to let anything go to waste and it would be much warmer sleeping with them. And honestly, it was better than sleeping on the hard wood planks that were supposed to be her bed. She fell asleep rather quickly.

Until she heard the noises of dripping water. Her eyes opened rather fast looking around if there were any leaks in the roof. Then realizing her roof made of stone... Stone...? STONE!? Neicha tried to crawl up in panic. Her roof wasn't made of stone! It should be wood! Her eyes shot glances right and left realizing she was actually in some kind of cave. Her hands were moving all over the floor until she found her stick laying next to her. Quickly she grabbed it and pulled herself up in a swift movement. Nervously she looked around.
"O-okay Neicha... Calm down..."
She breathed heavily shaking from head to toe. She slid the mask she wore on her head onto her face trying to calm herself down. At least there was no sign of whoever had kidnapped her... Yet. On the end of the cave she could see light. Apparently it was already day. Quickly she made her way out of the cave reaching the forest outside. It smelt different than the forest she lived in. How far from home was she? What would be the reaction of the other beast-man if they realized she had been taken away? She looked around, but nothing seemed familiar in the slightest. Then she spotted a boy in the distance. He was looking at her from afar. She just wanted to head for him when he turned around beckoning and then started running. He ran... She did attempt to run too, tripping almost immediately on the spot. Crawling back up as fast as she could running after the little dot in the distance that was getting smaller.
"Wait!"
She cried out.
"I can't run that well!"
She lost sight him when she set hoof in a grove. Looking around. There were a few people around this place. Was this a trick. She warily stood there. Catching her breath hanging on her walking stick. Her mask hid her terrified expression while she slowly looked around at everyone. She was ready to turn around and run away. But she doubted that she would make it far.

The sun was just rising as it painted the skies in orange and red. The only noise was that of the wind caught in the trees and the cracking of leaves that crushed below a pair of hooves. Neicha had woken up early to search for food. The air was somewhat foggy from the morning dew. Her green eyes gazed around. Her ears flicked in many directions scanning for any suspicious noises. The first birds started to sing. The deer-human lowered as she gathered herbs and put them in her satchel, then pulling herself back up with the walking stick she held in her other hand. Still not adjusted to her new legs she wobbled a bit before she stood stable. She ventured further into the forest.

Well yeah, the point of this MMO was that it would be entirely f2p without any stuff to pay for. The game was made because people found it fun to do and that was all that mattered. =w=;

Fan Fiction & Writing / The world we fight for
« on: January 07, 2015, 08:42:50 PM »
Heroes, what does a person make a hero...? Well... You gotta be strong. And help people whenever they are in trouble. Everyone will admire you, as you take down the bad guy, save the day get some fame. I would love to be one one day. Our town in Lundraga has thirteen of them. They are the guardians of a giant tree. They live on top of the tall mountain called Phadeon. Our town is at the foot of that mountain. I wonder how high the mountain is. On a clear day one can see a giant tree on the top. Yet there ain't no snow covering it. During the night you can see lights flickering. A beautiful sight, definitely. I wonder what those lights exactly are. Perhaps the guardians make the lights. Maybe. The guardians won't tell what is going on up there. Telling us it's better we didn't know. Huh? Oh yes, they barely go down the mountain to check on us. Actually, they only come once a year. Our town made a pact with the guardians since they don't really have any money. No one in our town likes fighting. So we give goods like food and other stuff to them. We basically put it all at the promised place at the promised times. And in return they would defend our town if we were to be in trouble. We have a bell for that that will be rung whenever the town gets attacked. A few will come right down and crush the attackers then go back up the mountain again.

Anyway, as I said before: one of the guardians comes down the mountain each year. It is in honor of the pact that we agreed upon years ago. And today is the very day that will happen and I hope to get a glance at that guardian! The streets are already bustling with people. They made an entire festival out of this thing. There is food everywhere, and lanterns set up in the streets, and games. Then the drums started playing. Before I realized what was going on I was already pushed all the way to the back of the crowd as everyone stepped aside to make way. I tried to squeeze my way through to get a better view, only to get pushed away.
"Get lost kid! Go find another place to watch."
Geez, old Gregor could be such a jerk. Especially on these occasions. I sighed looking for a way to get a glimpse from the guardian. I really looked up to them. I wanted to be one of them one day. Become a hero. People would either just laugh at my dreams. Or they would talk me in some petty task that they could easily do on their own. But they always have very annoying ways to get to me. I saw a stack of crates resting against the wall of a building. That's perfect! Quickly I started climbing up the crates, reaching out for the roof. I could just about make it and get on top of the building. From here I had a perfect view on the guardian that was walking down the road to the contraption upon where the bell was located. This year the guardian they sent was a man. He wore elegant garment. I watched in awe as he passed by, I couldn't keep my eyes off him. However, something terrible happened right then. I stumbled off the roof when a shock wave pushed me off the building.
"What the -- What was that!?"
I shouted confused. I wasn't the only one who had felt the shock wave. People were screaming and taking cover. I looked up in the sky towards the mountain. And what I saw terrified me. The silhouette of the tree on top of the mountain was vertically splitting in half. My jaw dropped.
"T-the tree! The tree is splitting in half!"
I shouted. People around me lifted their heads and turned to the mountain. The sky seemed like it was falling. The lights that once drifted around the tree were flung across the sky by the shock wave looking like shooting stars.

Before I knew it I already had started running. It was really tiring, but my legs kept going up the mountain. I had to see it with my own eyes from up close. The path was narrow, and I tripped a few times over the roots of trees. I'm not sure how long I had been running, but I started to run out of breath. And the air got thinner as I got higher up the mountain. Eventually I had to slow down and take deep breaths. I looked back, the town wasn't that far out of sight.
"Great hero you make, Kai..."
He mumbled.
"Can't even run up a mountain..."
I sulked, my legs were sore making me drop to the ground. I proceeded to lift my head to look at the broken tree only to meet with two yellow eyes glistering in the darkness. I couldn't make much from the silhouette of whatever that thing was looked at me.
"Wha... What are you?"
The thing didn't answer. Instead it looked ahead. Behind me I heard the voices of people. The villagers wanted to know what had happened too. They stopped walking when they saw the creature staring at them.
"What is that thing?"
"It must be the culprit!"
"Get it!"
The crowd cried out startling the creature which sprinted off the road and disappeared in the bushes. Followed by angry townsfolk. I just about managed to stand up.
"Are you alright?"
Asked a voice behind me.
"Yeah... I was just tired, and then suddenly that thing stood in front of me..."
I looked around and saw the guardian. My jaw dropped once again.
"I-- What!? What are you doing here?"
"I have something to look after up there. Would you mind making sure nobody gets hurt by that creature?"
I nodded. Then the guardian took a sprint up the mountain. Then I got up and looked around.
"The question is, where the heck did they go?"
Before I could even move the villagers had already returned.
"Er... Are you guys alright?"
I asked them. They hummed in agreement.
"What happened?"
They were making me curious.
"Well, old Gregor managed to stab that thing with his 'trusty' pitchfork. And the monster fell off the cliff and plummeted in the depths"
One of the men said.
"What was that thing anyway."
"We don't know, it was impossible to see in the dark."

The guardian returned from the mountain. His face was pale.
"Guardian, you are back, is everything alright?"
One of the townsfolk asked.
"No it's not alright. Everyone's dead."

Yui had been pulled out of her astrals body before anything had happened at all. Looking around slightly confused.
"It looks like Yui has won by a technicality."
"Huh what...? Technicality?"
Mixed feelings went through her mind. One of the first official battles of this year, and it got canceled, she had a feeling of disappointment she didn't want an easy battle. She wondered why Angelo would suddenly back out of the competition, did he get unwell? Did she intimidate him in some kind of way. She slowly turned her back to the sync station, walking back down the stairs trying to figure out what had happened. She noticed guards entering the building busily discussing something. She walked straight towards them.
"Excuse me? What happened to my opponent? It appears he had left and didn't return to the stadium"
The guards looked at each other silently. They all attempted to talk at the same time followed by another silence until one guard stepped forward.
"Well, as it appears Angelo went to have a bathroom break just before the battle."
Yui tilted her head.
"Bathroom break? That doesn't take very long does it?"
"Usually not no, but it appears his illness caught him. He was standing on top of the building when he fainted. Then he plummeted down. He even hit something very hard on his way to the ground."
"... I see."
It were hollow words she would always say when a sentence didn't reach her at all.
"We apologize for the inconvenience. Please have patience for the next battle."

Yui sat down with her back against the wall, staring at the giant monitor, trying to process what was told to her. The more she repeated that sentence in her mind, the less it made sense. The only thing that seemed to make sense was the fact that Angelo went to the bathroom. It makes perfect sense to withdraw to the bathroom in a public place whenever you start feeling unwell. However, the top of the building didn't seem to make much sense. There were signs pretty much everywhere with directions to the bathroom. There is one very close to the stadium for crying out loud.

Then she thought of the other option: He backed out, and used the bathroom as an excuse to get away without having to face embarrassment directly. Why would he have backed out? It doesn't make sense to go all the way up the building. The battle grounds are pretty much on the ground floor so he could've easily left the building via some kind of back door. Spectators would recognize him if he would take the stairs up. Yui opted to ask other battlers if they had seen him going somewhere. She immediately waved the idea away. There must be a reason the guards would tell such a story, probably to keep the astral battlers from getting uneasy. And Yui wasn't the kind of person who would want to make people feel uncomfortable.

In any case, she was stuck at the arena grounds for the time being. She had to focus on the matches that were to come today.

Yui reacted a bit confused.
"Yooeye? What...? Oh! No, you pronounce it like You-e."
She sighed.
"Wait, I think I've seen you before somewhere... Oh right! I passed you on the way to breakfast. I guess some people are comfortable wearing pyjamas...?"
She synced in closing her eyes. The noise of electricity rushing through her ears and the cold feeling once again becoming apparent in her hands. Then she opened her eyes....

When Yui just about synced out the guards motioned her to follow him to the stadium.
"Yush, I've done everything I can for now. Let's do this."
She followed the guard. Just about not bouncing in excitement. Once she entered the stadium she was amazed by the amount of people gathered together. Her heart was pounding with excitement. She looked around and found her name at one of the sync stations. She immediately rushed towards it. With a big grin she waited for her opponent.

Yui kind of was staring at the guy at the salad bar stacking his plate with a large pile of food. She somewhat remembers someone stacking that amount of food before during breakfast.
Large appetite I guess... Who am I to judge, anyway.
She took another bite from her sandwich looking a bit around. It had become busier over time. A lot of people probably left the sparring room by now a good time to head for the sparring room. A good time to test out some new things she came up with during lunch. She finished her sandwich hastily and then made her way to the sparring room. When she entered the guards just looked at her.
"Er... It's fine, I don't need a sparring partner for practice on this one."
The guards just simply nodded. Yui headed for one of the machines. She skimmed through the stages and decided upon the Championship forest. It was perfect for when she needed a target. And if she needed some light it would be easy to fly above the treetops. She synced in, closing her eyes. Instantly feeling the cold rushing through her body. It was worse than the previous time and she heard a lot of whispers passing by. When she opened her eyes she stood in the forest. Spreading her wings wide lifting off into the sky. The voices died down and the cold feeling retreated to her blackened claws. She then proceeded to practice what she had in mind.
