Rotational battles
« on: March 24, 2011, 12:05:37 AM »
So how does everyone like rotational battles? Personally I like them better than triple battles, and find them one of the better innovations of Generation 5. After reading the page on Bulbapedia about it, it says that being one of the inactive two in battle won't reset the slow start ability. That means the other two pokemon can fight during the first five turns, and after five turns you can bring Regigigas to the front and sweep.

I wonder if it's possible for two pokemon to have protect, and switch back and forth while using protect (or detect) without its chance of failing increase. If so, it could break a battle. Just poison or burn your enemy, then switch between protectors. Anyone without feint would be killed off.

I've only been through a couple of battles, but I like the idea. I wonder if other people do as well.

Yes, But this thread is about the rotation battles introduced in Pokemon Black and White Version. If you would,  Please stay on topic.

I like the rotation battles, though I've only had a few of them they are lots of fun.  They open up so many new strategies it's great..

Indeed, I liked them a lot too. For those moves (protect/detect) testing is required.

A pity there aren't any when you have beaten them :( I'll have to wait for a friend to help me with that testing,
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Currently playing Pokemon XY/ORAS/Shuffle and Clash of Clans and testing out PokemonRevolutionOnline and Dragonmon Hunter....

what's the difference between triple and rotation?
Even if one person steales waht you deserve, your reward will be even better than the last if you head down the right path.

in triple you have three pokemon that can take and give damage. in a rotation only one of your three is used and only it is hit. use bulbapedia or Serebii.

I got to admit, there is only one rotation battle in Pokemon White and I liked the idea very much. New strategies can be made like what Bing had said. I'm looking forward on this new battle platform whenever it is implanted into other MMO's of pokemon. ^^

I'm also thinking Slaking could be rotated around so he's never vulnerable while truant is in effect.

I guess they would have to be. They're very powerful pokemon, and the only reason they aren't uber in normal battles is their abilities. Rotational battles will make it easy to work around their biggest weakness, so they'll be kicked upstairs to ubers. That is unless they're just disallowed altogether.

True true... Or Regigas will be considered Uber in Rotation Battle but if it's in a different style, no.
