Locked threads

ok this has been annoying me lately because i can't post. I understand that it's to reduce spam and etc, but isn't creating a new thread of the same topic more annoying then anything else? If so why are like all the threads locked? Im going through the threads on the first page of some of the boards and thought of some ideas but I cant post them because the threads locked.

When there is no reply in a thread for a couple of months a thread gets auto-locked to prevent resurrection.

If you think you have a good discussion and the other topics are locked, feel free to open a new topic and just refer to the locked on saying it's locked so you created a new one.
