I'll use Solar Beam. I can't believe I didn't think of that before.

Yeah, that's going to be a big advantage against some teams. If a certain move isn't working out for me, I'll replace it with Solar Beam ;D

How are you guys gonna deal with Castform? Officially, he's normal type, but the fact that he can also, very easily, become fire, water, or ice type defeats the purpose of what - if I understand Daedae's motives - this guil was made for. If I remember, he/she wanted to prove that it doesn't take a balanced-type team to make a good trainer. Castform takes that one-type concept away.

I would consider Castform Normal type since that's its default form, and thus would be for a normal type trainer. Same with Ditto.

My bent on it is is that Castform only gets another type under weather conditions, like a rain dance team it would be primarily a water type, a sunny day team it would be a fire type. but it is up to the trainer using it.

I think that it will be one advantage of using Castform in a normal team. It being at first a normal pokemon, being able to change type during the battle to optimize its abilities, is the way normal pokemon found to cover more types.

Hence, all the way to Normal team Castform and Ditto.
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Eh... I just think it kind of defeats the 'nomal type' part of it.
Once ditto or castform transforms, they aren't normal type anymore. Then, the normal type trainer is using a fire type, or a water type, or whatever else.

But by birth they are normal type... it's within their 'power' to temporarily adopt a particular type for a match.

With ditto it is more than tempory, it is there untill you switch him out or he gets killed. Castform yes 5 to seven turns unless you have drought, drizzle, or snow warning in effect. they could kill the balance of power.

Well that's the thing about normal types. They tend to have quite large move pools, and some have unique abilities. They are normal, but certainly not bland.

I don't really know what else to say about them. You want me to say Castform can be on a normal, fire, water, ice, or rock team? I believe sandstorm lets him transform into rock nowadays.

As for Ditto, he becomes whatever his opponent is. You want to say he can be in any team?

For simplicity's sake I'd rather just have them be on a normal team. That's the type they're considered as, and I don't really think they're game breakers.
