How do you update my media?

How do you get the My Media section in the profile to work, ive tried urls, links, short urls, how do i do this? And if it matters im trying to get a video from youtube.

square brackets [] are usually acceptable as well, and on a standard american qwerty keyboard, its faster, as you don't have to hit shift.

I put the 'Old Embed Code' in the options in youtube and it works.
