Learn moves from friends
« on: January 28, 2010, 02:18:27 AM »
since TM/HMs are something that you use one and you never get other could you add the feature to learn moves from a friend's pokemon?

example:
i have a kadabra without shadow ball
my friend have an alakazam with shadow ball
so i could give my kadabra to my friend and after some time my kadabra could learn shadow ball too

of course this must have some requirements like some battles with your friend, same pokemon specie or evolution.
the most importantly is to make the gived pokemon unusable and return it to the OT after a period of time to prevent steal

also you could add the feature to "sell" this so the players could become the move tutors

this could use you 1 slot for the other's pokemon and you must also use the pokemon with the move to teach

sorry my bad english if its so bad that you dont understand something say me that ill try to explain better

what if maybe there were certain moves that only other people could teach your pokemon, or that you can only learn from trading. kinda like in gsc charizard can only learn belly drum if it breeds with a snorlax. make it harder to get stacked moves, but a nice benefit for the extra time

I don't quite like it either. But since there will be trade facilities, and people will be able to teach moves to any pokemon, trading pokemon, teaching them moves then trading back cannot be prevented.

However, it would be good if pokemon who have learnt an HM cannot be traded over, except if they forget that HM move.

If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

I like this in principle, but it makes it too easy to get a move that would otherwise take a lot of effort.
Remember, unless we say it will be included, a Team Member's speculation and ideas are still just speculation and ideas. Though it may be more likely to be included, there are no guarantees!

How about, after you use a TM, you keep it but you are unable to use it yourself, instead you can trade it to a friend who will then be able to use it. The only problem I can see with this is people trading TMs back and forth,so the TM must 'Remember' that you have already used it.

Nah, I prefer it the way it is, that is you don't have the TM anymore in your inventory after you used it, unless you get/buy another.

I agree... If making all moves to easy to get, the game will get booring fast, I say make it hard to get new TM´s, but not impossible!

Sorry dude I dont like this idea very much.

Next time please specify what you don't like.

Although as the others are saying, it's true. The lazy people would just want to trade their friends for the better moves, or pay for them. It kind of takes out the point in raising the lvl of a pokemon. (besides for stats of course)

No....

I think he is trying to tell us something.... ;D

But anyway, I agree with the rest of the folks who say that this idea is not the best. The Pu devs are not out there working to make this game easier and more boring, but they are working their butts off trying to make this as fun and exciting a game as possible. This goes out to everyone in general and I know it has been said a million times but, please think over your ideas thoroughly before posting Anything that may infact create the game to become less fun.

Just thought I would point this out again ;)
