If you mean in the game when it's released, then no. You can only choose from starter pokemon. If you're talking about an RP, it depends on if they say you can only get a starter pokemon, or if they say you can choose any pokemon.

I meant on the forum, not on the game, silly people!  well if I can choose a pokemon, I will choose arcanine, if it has to be a starter pokemon, it will be teipig ( did I spell it right? ) is it ok if I pick more then one pokemon?
