[Pokedex Entry] Beedrill for Roloc
« on: March 17, 2014, 06:47:40 PM »
Pokemon #15, Beedrill, Bug/Poison type, Poison Bee pokemon.

Intro: Beedrill is a pokemon that is known for its aggressive behavior and appearance in swarms. Beedrill is a large bee, whose body consists of three pale yellow segments. The top segment is its head, which is mostly round and slightly pointed at its mouth. It has two round, red eyes and two antenna on top of its head. The middle segment of its body is connected to the arms, legs and wings. The arms end in a large conical stinger, and the feet consist of three segments that are designed to stand on, rather than cling onto surfaces. The wings are colorless and semi-transparent. The legs, arms and antenna are blue-gray. The bottom segment of the body is has black and yellow stripes, and a large yellow stinger protruding from it.

Habitat: Beedrill lives mostly in forested areas, in which it lives in large swarms, and often has its own territory.

Diet: Beedrill mainly eats the berries that grow in the forest. Beedrill may also hunt and eat larvae and pupa of other insects.

Biology: Beedrill is a pokemon that is extremely territorial and protective of its species, and very aggressive towards trespassers and apparent aggressors. It will use its three poison stingers to bring great harm to any target, and is relentless in its pursuit. A large external stimulant is necessary to dissuade a swarm of angry Beedrill.
If it is threatened, large groups of kakuna may evolve prematurely and become Beedrill in order to fight of invaders or take revenge on aggressors.
Beedrill is able to launch its stinger from its abdomen, and this stinger is also the most poisonous of the three stingers. It uses this for moves such as pin missile.
Beedrill's signature move, Twinneedle, is performed using its namesake stingers, and is rare amongst bug-type moves in that it is able to poison an opponent.
Beedrill is a pokemon that is well-loved amongst young trainers, especially Bug-catchers. The ability to train one's Kakuna to level 10 and evolve it into Beedrill is often seen as the first large step in a Bug-catcher's career. Bug-catchers with a Beedrill often become overconfident, and will start challenging random passersby to battles. Due to Beedrill's many weaknesses, in addition to most Bug-catchers' incompetence, this confidence only lasts a short while. Most of them then realise that a varied team is necessary to win more pokemon battles and only the most die-hard bug-fans will stick to their original path.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class D: No restrictions have been implemented towards catching Beedrill, since large swarms of Beedrill are known to harass people passing through the woods. However, extreme caution is advised, since attempting to catch a wild Beedrill is likely to anger the entire swarm.
The recommended way of obtaining Beedrill is to catch the docile Weedle or Kakuna, and evolve this.
