Ok, I thought about it... the clothes of Ash in this small clip suggests that it's the Sinnoh League Season, and the matches that are carried out this way are undoubtedly Gym Matches. I just scanned the Episode where Ash gets to battle against Wake and he didn't have a Magikarp, but a Gyarados that got pawned by Pikachu in the first round...

So, my conclusion is that this small clip was fan made.

No, look closely.

It premired on CN, and I actually saw it on air.

It wasn't a gym really. There were 2 trainers, One had that Magikarp, The Other had a Feebas of a similar manner.

Yup. It's unfortunate that the full guide is not available yet. The episodes pictures help, but they are 2 seconds apart, so I missed a lot... anyway, that was impressive!
