implementing the Move-teaching maniac and/or Move teacher?
« on: July 10, 2010, 02:21:58 PM »
Move tutors and move relearners, are there any plans to implement this in PU?

Used search (using a variation of keywords) and was unable to find a topic on this.
Am I a ghost or a man? Or a man-ghost offspring that come from mi father's inexplicable penetration of mi mother's ghostly woman parts? Or am I a child imitating a man's ability to change into a ghostly form in order to preserve mi appellation?

Well, they were in all the other games, so I don't see why they wouldn't be in PU. To me, leaving the move tutor out would be like leaving out professsor [insert type of tree here], or mixing up what the starters would be, just for the hell of it.

Try reading the two linked articles or bringing out an authentic Pokemon Red, Blue, or Yellow. I can almost assure you that neither of these appear in the older games.

So it isn't too farfetched to complete the game without implementing this feature. But it wouldnt be a bad idea to implement.

I remember a move relearner in red...
But even so, if it was only left out in the older games, then it's more like leaving out the ability to run, or... more than six colors.

Move relearner in the RBY series? I never ran into one until I played RSE where Heart Scales were required in exchange.

Anyway, Move tutors and move relearners I think are essential. For a good team, the moves know by the pokemon on levelling up or through TMs are not always enough.
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Nnnnggg... These letters to describe the generation are frustrating. The first time I saw RBY, I thought someone spelled ruby wrong while trying to emphasize it.

Anyway, I haven't played red in a few years, so I don't remember every detail. Hell, the only reason I played it three years ago was to see if you really could get mew on the nugget bridge.

But's it's easier to describe them...

RBY - Red/Blue/Yellow
GSC - Gold/Silver/Crystal
RSE - Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
FRLG - FireRed/LeafGreen
DPPt - Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
HGSS - HeartGold/SooulSilver
BW - Black/White
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.

R/B/Y - Red/Blue/Yellow
G/S/C - Gold/Silver/Crystal
R/S/E - Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
FR/LG - FireRed/LeafGreen
D/P/Pt - Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
HG/SS - HeartGold/SooulSilver
B/W - Black/White

Added Slashes, not as confusing, is it?

'You' is more time consuming than 'u', but all the cool kids type 'you' anyway.

I don't like text talk in forums. It makes it more difficult to read, so it's more time consuming the other way round. If there was a limit in the length of a post, then I'd have understood, but seriously, there is virtually no limit to the amount you can type, unless you want to post a whole book of several hundred pages, which I doubt people would like to read.
