Pokegear?
« on: July 30, 2010, 09:39:49 PM »
I haven't seen anything on the pokegear utilization on the forums so I thought I'd bring it up. I have always liked the idea of pokegear for both fuction and the added little bitsit brought to the game.

I was thinking that it would be cool to get the "numbers" from different trainers to send messages. The pokegear could also be used to activate special events from in game trainers or npcs that you excange numbers with too.

It could have the radio to that could effect the pokemon or just for a change from the standard tunes. Also could have a talk show that could just give hints on pokemon locations and trainer tips too.

Of course the map would be in it too to save inventory space. It would be cool that the pokegear could be upgraded so it would only get more useful.

Any other ideas for the pokegear from you guys? (That if is planned on being implemented in the game.)

Implementing the Poke gear would be great. Just the idea of giving NPCs the ability to call players for rematches, quest/event help, or just say hi would add another extra layer of depth.
Am I a ghost or a man? Or a man-ghost offspring that come from mi father's inexplicable penetration of mi mother's ghostly woman parts? Or am I a child imitating a man's ability to change into a ghostly form in order to preserve mi appellation?

It would be a great addition to the game. Using the mobile phone would  be a cool way of private messaging.

Anyone Know how annoying that is? Scenario: Im climbing Mt. (*), A bug catcher calls, "Hi, Bye."
5 mins later, Exactly the same thing happens.

You should have the Ability to turn it off, right?

Anybody who has played the pre-beta knows there is an option to private message anybody on your friends list.
I can't see NPCs calling you randomly like in the orininal games. (too much work) but perhaps it could work the other way round. (you call them and explain about how you pwned some metapod)

I was joking.
Realisitcally, an option to ask for a rematch or something would be good.

That works, you could also have Story-Related characters call you on Time-Based Events, like Baoba, or Prof Elm Did.
