Wouldn't it be better to choose your starter from a larger amount of pokemon?

Of cousre there would be some you can't choose as a starter because they are rare or whatever, like dratini, larvitar, bagon and others.

I thought gen 5 wasn't incorporated yet.

What i think is : How many WILD Bulbasaurs do you see in the games without hacks...none.
How many wild dratini do you see in the games without hacks...few. By your logic we wouldnt be able to have any of the designated starter pokemon because they are rare.

This is just my opinion on your opinion.
