They're not including Pikachu since it's not actually a starter. In the anime, proffesor Oak gave Ash a Pikachu, since the all of the starters were taken. Yellow version was based on the anime, which is why the story is so similar. So, Pikachu isn't a starter. Only the grass, fire, and water starters will be in the game.

Pikachu has not been forgotten.

We just don't count it as a starter.
If we had allowed it, we would be forced to allow; Eevee, Espeon, Umbreon and many other Pokes from that were starters in sidegames. Note that I do not call Yellow version a side game, but simply states that you would be able to choose amoung too many starters.

With 5 generations so far, you should have a lot of choises for your starter.

yeah the starter pokemon are good but after playing every pokemon game (exept the side games mystery dungeon/Ranger etc.) starting with water, fire or grass is getting old, i wish game freak would mix it up a little for a change thats why my fave game at the moment is Yellow Version Electric FTW!

well yes, it would be great if in generation VI (lets face it, they're gunna make it) they change the dynamics of the game, starting with a choice of pokemon that arent grass fire or water (and a dark type gym would be nice too).

but if they were to do that they would still need to be A attacks are strong against B, B attacks are strong against C, C attacks are strong against A.

Whilst also keeping the A attacks are weak against C, C attacks are weak against B, B attacks are weak against A.

if they dont do that, bring in some uniquely typed starters eg Grass/Electric

and also they NEED to end the fire/fighting starters...seriously we're over them...Tepig was a step too far...Tepig can die

I don't want them to change the starters... How will I pick the fire starter then?  But, I agree I'm tired of these dual type starter pokmeon.  I think the starters should be purely Fire, Water and Grass.

This topic has gotten from starters in PU to starters in the Nintendo Games.

Don't expect that they ever will change the main typing of the starters. They will always be grass/fire/water. Those typings are elemental to the game (yes, a pun!) as we saw in Black and White.

Frankly I think all starters should be catchable within game play, I've always wanted to have more then one starter, as well I'd love to be able to have one of each stage.  Ie. A charmander, a charmeleon, and a charizard.

The PU team already said starters will be in the wild, they may be a little rarer they will be in the wild.

Also, as they have already said, not
yeah the starter pokemon are good but after playing every pokemon game (exept the side games mystery dungeon/Ranger etc.) starting with water, fire or grass is getting old, i wish game freak would mix it up a little for a change thats why my fave game at the moment is Yellow Version Electric FTW!

I've played them all at least twice, and I still get excited when I make my choose.
