how the battle should be animated like a gba or animated .ect
« on: January 23, 2010, 11:20:48 PM »
a suggestion on how the battles are
should they be animated almost like the battles like they move around and show the attacks or like the battle on a GameBoyAdvance were they just stand there and show a little animated move ?

please post on how we think the battles should be?

Well, while being animated is pleasing to the eye, it can make the system lag and make you lose time. On any pokemon game, I used to switch off the animations. I only see them in the wireless battle room where it cannot be switched off. It saves time most of the time.
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

It's okay to talk about other ways, but the way it will be is like in the GBA games. This is 100% because we don't have the artists to make any other kind of animations.

Animations will probably be faster than in the gameboy games, by removing the delay between the text displaying the attack and the attack animation. It may be possible to turn animations off for NPC battles only, but I'm not sure. I understand what you mean, Hyakko, fighting many wild battles in a row can be frustrating because of all the delays before, during and after each battle.
Remember, unless we say it will be included, a Team Member's speculation and ideas are still just speculation and ideas. Though it may be more likely to be included, there are no guarantees!

I always liked the animations because it gave the feel that it was a battle in the world of pokemon and not just a press a button something happens kind of game. (even though that is what it really is)

Anyway i would prefer animations.

About animations, I have always wondered if one day, there will be some 'playback' of a match in 3D. Like for example, you have your match first and when you choose playback, you see a sort of mini movie with the pokemon able to move in all directions :D

Well, it's only a dream.

Not yet, because we don't have all the animations. We need someone who can make these for us.

And once you do they will be way more awsome than the ones from the real games!

So if you guys had more people on the team (with experience in all the needed areas) wouldn't the game be finished (not literally finished because we know no online game will ever truly end) much faster, and newer things come out faster, and even all the art work in the game be finished faster?

Of course. There is so much work to do for the content-team (art, design, map, sound, script, story), but we don't have many people in that team.

... because it's hard to find skilled and active people.
