Happy Birthday Mr_Dark!

I found this one but I;m not sure if this is the one you saw.
http://pokemon-universe.wikia.com/wiki/Pokemon_Universe_MMORPG_Wiki

But this is the wiki started by TheSolax
http://pokemonuniverseinfo.wikia.com/wiki/Pokemon_Universe_MMORPG_Wiki
Not sure if it's the offical one or not, but I think Mr_Dark approved of it

TheSolax's is the wiki I read, and it says it right under Professor Alder. I guess like the above posts, we'll just have to wait for clarification.

Trainers Lounge / Question about Time Period
« on: February 06, 2012, 09:22:01 PM »
So a while ago I read on the wiki about a Professor in Miryus that witnessed the battle between Kyogre and Groudon, and recently I saw a post by Mr_Dark saying PU takes place 100 years after Pokemon Black and White. Obviously said professor wouldn't be alive still, so my question is, has the timeline recently changed or is the wiki unofficial, or are these things just subject to change?

Hmm,strong topic.
Let the brawl begin: Lavaridge Gym VS Saffron City

Lavaridge:
-Incredibly boring and predictable(Yes,i know that you are standing there, not so ace trainer)
-Slow paced(long animations, two faily designed floors and trainers that only waste time)
-Required no skill wathsoever(By now you should be packing something anti-fire,if not...fail)
-Flannery is HOT(You freaking pervert! She simply uses fire types!)

Saffron:
-I missed this gym on the 1st fully finished run of Kanto(Totally unrelated to storyline city....safe for said bad team HQ)
-Made me go into the wrong gym...and think that the real gym was fighting themed.(Fuuuuu)
-Sabrina managed to wipe my charizard(Raaaage)
-Psychic types were overpowered(Fuuu u Alakazam)
-A overly complicated puzzle for my 6-7 year old brain(Youngsters always lose)
-Sabrina is smexy(And you cannot counter that)

Saffron Gym is the bane of my existence.

Sidenote:Failing on Johto?Join Ash!
I swept the floor with Johto... just like Red did :P

Hey, hey! I only failed at Johto in the end! Mind you, I wasn't using my starter. Right now I'm a little pissed off because I haven't made it to any town or "safe point" in Kanto and I need to fly back to grab a HM Pokemon real quick... I refuse to give my Garyados all these ridiculous water HMs, but it won't let me fly :(

I hated the ice skating because it made me think :P But naw, it wasn't that bad, just annoying. But on the subject of balancing, HG and SS are screwed. I lost to the freakin' Kimono Girls that only have 1 Pokemon each, all eeveelutions. I swear that one girl's Jolteon is waaay over powered on the offensive, and the Vaporeon ONE SHOTTED my Victreebel that was 10 levels higher than it. ... Something is wrong here.

Really? 'cause with an Ampharos (with Signal Beam, + electric moves) I got pretty much all of them relatively quickly, except Umbreon... That was the one that gave me a little more trouble. And I'm almost always under-leveled.

The ice skating throws me off for a bit too.

On the gym subject, the worst gym for me was Bryce's in SS, and I'm not sure why, when the team I had's main weakness is rock, and Brock was easy to take down....
Clair was a bit difficult too.... :/ But then I leveled my Lapras up, and it was better...
(On a side note, yay, I beat Red!!!)

It was weird, but the second time around I brought my Onix along to take out the Jolteon, and then used Victreebel to put Vaporeon asleep and finish it off with a grass move. One of Vaporeon's moves were really effective the first time though... Anyway, congrats on beating Red, I'm just heading into Victory Road now!

I really liked this, well done bringing the concept that's been flowing around here for a while and actually putting it together. About the collecting professions, I think there should be a special item the player needs to collect said things, like a pick axe, sickle, etc. and the item could break at one point, requiring either a new one or the raw materials to fix it. I bring this up as a suggestion to what normal raw materials could be used for as well.

Where the hell did Prof. Oak study? He should get a refund since he missed all the 500+ Pokemon. He said there was only 150 I wonder if how he passed he final exams with that lame excuse.

Well Nintendo are kind of idiots for that :P Sometimes I swear the anime makes it seem like just as Ash is arriving in a new region, the Pokemon there are just then being discovered for the first time. Which would make no sense for obvious reasons.

And about the Legendaries, at least the Bird Trio are rebirthed every once in a while... All 3 are like Phoenixes, so they get the knowledge of their predecessor. The exception is Mew, which there is only 1 of. The old Mew dies once it's egg is laid.
They "die" a lot more often than the Ancient Pokémon like Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza.
Also, the lore tells that Arceus were the shaper of the universe. That means it must be VERY old! Same goes for Dialga, Palkia and Giratina, which were the first ones created by Arceus...

If mew contains all the Pokemon's DNA shouldn't it be like the god of all Pokemon? I mean if it has every Pokemon's DNA then that means it also has Arceus's, right? Which is kinda weird since Acreus uses plates, right? So before the Universe was shaped he just floated in his psychic ball in nothingness... or something like that? That would explain why he is always curious and floats around the world like it's never seen it before.

Well, we don't really know where Arceus came from, but it created Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina first, then the other legends like Mew and all the trios. Mew may be the "god of all Pokemon" in the sense that it's like a ditto :P, but Arceus is still god of everything. The fact that Mew is very baby-like and innocent was always curious to me. I don't really think Mew is intelligent, maybe more so just pure and rare in the sense that it holds the DNA of every Pokemon. I mean really, what is Mew's purpose? All the other legendaries seem to have some purpose like being a Guardian of something or a protector/watcher, etc., but Mew just wanders around aimlessly, enjoying the little things life has to offer.

Still doesn't really explain some of the other happenings. Particularly in "Pokemon Chronicles" which featured a lot of game characters turned into anime characters like Ethan, Kris, and Eusine from S/G/C. At one point Raikou is badly hurt and they take it to a Pokemon center like it's nothing...and another episode Silver battles Moltres and almost catches it, but decides not to out of pride. That show in particular kind of made the legendaries seem well ... less legendary.

I agree, we really don't know the average lifespan of a Pokemon. I guess this is sort of because the anime never really confronts the subject of Pokemon dying, despite that numerous times they've made references towards death. Like in the first episode where Misty asks if Pikachu is still breathing, implying that it could in fact be dead. For the legendaries, I'd say the fact that they *are* legendary could be reason that they live so long, but what exactly makes them legendary anyway? In the games they're pretty average Pokemon and I guess the only thing legendary about them is the fact that there's only one of each in existence...but wait! That also conflicts with itself, because there was an episode of Pokemon Chronicles where a trainer finds a baby Lugia and protects it from Team Rocket. This, to me, meant that either the Pokemon Company screwed up in continuity, or the baby Lugia was that of the original Lugia, but then of course who did it breed with? Also, how can a Haunter die anyway? It's already a ghost Pokemon :P

You'd be surprised by the number of people...

Well a good friend of mine actually makes some decent money off of Yu-gi-oh TGC contests so hey... I guess you're right come to think of it. It's funny too because hes not like a super geek or anything, or at least he doesn't come off that way, but yeah, he becomes a strategist master in those things haha

Blackthorn. When comparing the level scaling to the 6th and 7th gyms before it, Clair's pokes are much higher, as well as he kingdra is stupidly fast so if you don't have a really good lan to take out an over levelled killing machine, well you're gonna have some fun.

Funny you mention that, as I'm playing SS now and I just suffered my first loss in the game, to Clair. It was ridiculous and I was even using hyper potions. Makes me think I won't stand a chance at the Pokemon League...

Bah, I wasn't sure what "EX" but I was leaning on it being something to do with the TGC. Who even still does that? >_>
