Over the years, the temporary settlements turned into towns and cities as the land prospered with growth. Due to popular demand, the Pokémon League Commission set up seventeen gyms spread across the landmass, now named Miryus.

At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I now understand why the mods get frustrated.

Trainers Lounge / Ash and Giovanni
« on: January 09, 2012, 07:22:53 AM »
Anyone ever wonder why Giovanni was never revealed as Ash's father? I mean, there's never been much continuity in Pokemon aside from small ongoing plots, but you know, it's mostly always felt like filler. I remembered recently that Silver from Gen. 2 was revealed to be Giovanni's son and I immediately thought him and Red as being half-brothers. I know the whole main villain being the protagonist's father is cliche but still, it seemed inevitable. After all, who IS Ash's father?

Glaceon or Ninetails. I wonder if others will be able to see what Pokemon follows you?

Wrathes: Thanks and yeah I know, but I figured questing would focus more on the player's level rather than individual Pokemon, but you never know!

lubbies: Yes and no. It's already been established long ago that the more experienced you are at catching/battling, the more it shows. However, it was never clarified if that goes for contests as well, so thats another good idea! What I was suggesting was that if you use a certain Pokemon in a contest, they can gain exp. that way.

Ideas & Suggestions / Alternative ways of leveling Pokemon?
« on: January 08, 2012, 07:48:09 AM »
Hi, I've had an account for a while but never did much with it. Anyway, I've seen many topics regarding skill trees, talents, and job systems to truly make every player unique and not just all Pokemon trainers. If something like that is established, I think Pokemon should gain exp. through means other than battling. For example, if a Pokemon is successful in a contest, they may gain experience. Looking at some of the other suggested "activities" to take part in the game (IE: Breeding, Researching) well, obviously there isn't much exp. to be gained for Pokemon there. I just feel like PU has this atmosphere where you don't necessarily *have* to be a trainer. Albeit catching the Pokemon yourself is a given, you don't have to follow the Pokemon league to have fun. I don't know, just something I was thinking about because PU seems like it'll be much more open world than the other online Pokemon "MMOs", if you'd call them that.

General Chat / Re: Signature
« on: January 08, 2012, 04:47:55 AM »
Well first things first, you'll need an image in an accepted file format such as .png, .jpeg, etc. Don't worry about that though, most images are already setup like that for you. Whats important is that when you find a signature you want, surround it in img tags. For example, [img ] http://www.imageshack.us/pokemonimage [/img ] Without the spaces. Hope I explained it clearly. If you still need help and find an image you want, I can show you how to do it.

Wasn't sure the appropriate forum to report a "bug", but I figured I'd let you guys know that the word "Development" is spelled as "Develoment" when you click on the link. Sorry for being a pedant :P

Wow, pretty neat, I'm 17 and I've played since Red/Blue as well. Seems like my generation is the majority of the players here. No shame in that, I'll be a fan for life.

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Feebas locations.
« on: December 10, 2010, 02:55:28 AM »
I don't know, making it an event pokemon would limit the amount of players that can catch it. Which, depending on how PU will work, could be a good thing. Personally I like to think that a Pokemon MMO should be like a "real" pokemon world where what each trainer has depends on their skill and what not. Not every trainer should have a Milotic, and this would sort of guarantee that ...

I like the idea of the low chances on certain tiles, but it should definitely change daily. That makes it more of a challenge and even something to be proud of once you catch it.

By the way, what if someone was just a huge Feebas fan and didn't want it for Milotic? Heh.
