You get your claws, but then you go to scratch your neck because it itches, and you poke a hole the size of a gold ball into your lungs.

I wish that I could count to any number, in any language, any number of times, and I don't care what or if anything happens during, before, or after this.

i like them both even though this thread is kind of a waste in my opinion, just one of those types that people make for posts
The internet is, in fact, NOT serious business. If it can entertain a group of people for any amount of time, it is not a waste. So what if we're not getting any practical good out of this? Saying this thread is a waste is like saying video games are a waste.

People come on to pre beta once in a while, but they misunderstand the meaning of 'come on to pre beta', and start flirting with the icon on their desktop.
I wish that every obese person on Earth lost exactly enough weight at a healthy pace, by using a healthy diet, to become healthy Humans, and not one of them became anerexic or gained all the wight back, and none of the people who weren't overwight became fat.

And if you know the triangle of fire, the three essential requirements for a fire to exist is oxygen, fuel and heat. Remove heat through a blizzard, or asphyxiate it (the easiest ways) and it is not more... water instead, you can boil it, freeze it, but it will always be able to come back ::)

So, there is no real 'better' or 'worse', both have their advantages and shortcomings.
But CHARIZAAAAARD! doesn't have just fire. Even if his fire got pwned, he could do a few things to a BLASTOIIIISE!, the most graphic being picking it up by the tail, flying into the air, and dropping it from fatal heights.

This is all quite lovely, but the question isn't "Charizard or Blastoise?". It's "Charmander or Squirtle?". And, unless Charmander gets a teenage mutant ninja squad soon, Squirtle still wins.
Well, this is also all quite relevant, because charmander and squirtle turn into charizard and blastoise, and it's important to think about the future. Isn't that what all the elementary school assemblies taught us? And I noticed Charmander has the highest number of votes. So I don't care if there ARE Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles, Charmander is currently winning.

Alright, I support this idea, but I think we need to look at the downsides that it might bring...
Offhand, all I can really think of is that impatient players and angsty teenagers would get frustrated and produce rage, which they will use to go around bashing the PU team on the broadest chat option availible. Of course, the game shouldn't be made easier just to save players the trouble of muting immature people.

Guys, The United States of America has already gone over this. Charizard. Always. Wanna know why? If Pokemon had been going for realistic type advantages instead of fair, then fire would pwn everything. Water would evaporate, flying types would get turned to fried chicken in midair, grass types... Forest Fires. Rock types would turn into volcanos and BECOME fire. Steel would melt. Ghosts don't exist. Psychics... I dunno, they might be able to pwn fire to some degree. And the Normal and fighting types would get it worst of all.
Why, the very invention of the Flamethrower is proof that someone smart enough to invent one looked at some people and said, "Gee, I really wish I could light that guy on fire, but I'm not close enough to get the job done. They don't call heavy weapons "waterarms," or "waterpower," do they?
In fact, the only reason In Real Life fires can get owned by water is because those fires weren't being tended to by CHARIZAAAAARD!

I noticed Charmander has the highest percentage of the votes, by nearly twice that of it's runner up. Excellent choice, boys. Nobody can KILL IT WITH FIRE quite like Charizard. Even websites that hate Pokemon, love Charizard. On a slightly related note, the coolest profession in real life is being a Charizard Astronaut Ninja Robot.

I like all this, and I'm glad there will be a wait in between gyms also, now no one will be able to just fly through all the gyms, they will actually have to play and experience all the other features of the game.
Huh. I must've missed that one. Whoopsies.

Raikt never confirmed that there would be a waiting period... you act like he did
He isn't really. All he said was that there should be a wait period between fighting two seperate gyms.
Anywhoo, this sounds like a good idea to me, but I don't get the penalty of losing a trainer level for losing a match. Sure, it would make people be more prepared before the fights, but, 'cmon, don't all the old wise men always say that you learn more from losing than you fdo from winning? it's true. so why would your trainer get worse at training pokemon just because he lost a battle? Granted, making him improve would just make the game too easy, but, c'mon...

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Something not to do

No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. NO. No item mall.
Aside from the fact that pokemon is legally owned by a big company that probably loves filing copyright infringement lawsuits, there are a number of problems with an item mall.
1) Seeing as the MMO is gonna be as close to the games as possible, that means that we're going to be dealing with the same items, pokemon, etc. Nothing in the origonal game was so amazing that PU would really have any right - even if it was legal - to charge us money for it.
2) Amlost invariably, the moment an item mall is released by a small business, that small business instantly becomes greedy, and goes overkill on the item mall. I don't even PLAY runescape, and I know that they're progressively restricting more and more of the the game to the people that bought a membership.
3) And, of course, we have the lack of maturity of  the internets. Assuming an item mall is implemented and all the sudden only members can get third stage evolutions. Now about ninety percent of the game's population is running about with charmeleons instead of charizards. now the most popular phrase among upgraded players is "(insert 2nd stage evolution here) n00b". Sure, you can ignore them, but it would be really annoying if you couldn't go through the game without one in every ten players antagonizing you for not being upgraded.
