Arceus is kind of an exception because it can be any type, but I consider it a normal type because it's the default type.

We're all entitled to our opinions, I suppose.

Egg getting hatched at the daycare? I believe you're confusing the word hatched with the word laid.

I'm not sure about the kind of boosts the person is talking about.

Rock, steel, and electric types resist fly.

No they aren't all bad. Just some like cut and rock smash that are only useful in the early game. rock climb is pretty weak as well.

I would actually count Fly as one of the bad ones because the extra turn could be used to freely switch to another pokemon that resists fly, or use a move like dig, dive, or protect.

Well that is pretty much how I use pokemon I give HMs to. I rarely use them in battle, except to take a hit for when I want to switch pokemon without letting the enemy get a free hit on my more important team member. I think utility is less demeaning than slave, but it may still be a little demeaning.

There are several good steel types in my opinion. Skarmory has great defense and is a well known physical tank. Bronzong is also an excellent tank. Metagross is a heavy hitter with a priority move that can take a few hits as well.

Scizor is an excellent sweeper that can also tank a bit with its many resistances and recovery through roost. Empoleon has one of the highest number of resistances out there, and also a good movepool.

Steel is a good tough type, and one of my favorites.

One day they will call me Chad the Water master! Or I might have a different water themed username in game. Tony Tsunami.

The American Flag Eagle is probably the coolest one I've seen. Some of the others look interesting too, like the little pokemon with green stuff surrounding it making it look bigger than it is.

That would improve things, and remind me of the way they do it in Ogre Battle 64. Still sucks to be 2 or 5 though.

Oh, very well then. That sounds fair.

Pokémon Roleplay / Elite Four to the Rescue
« on: August 03, 2010, 06:06:34 PM »
Story

A criminal organization calling themselves the Pokemon Rulers has kidnapped the four most renowned Pokemon Professors to work for them: Professors Oak, Elm, Birch, and Rowan. The police can't do anything to stop them, so it falls on the shoulders of the greatest Pokemon trainers to rescue the professors. The setting can take place in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh. whichever one the players would rather be in. It doesn't matter.

Profile
Name: (self explanatory)
Gender: (self explanatory)
Age: (self explanatory)
Appearance: (self explanatory)
Pokemon: (list the pokemon that you will be using. Since you are a member of the elite four, this assumes your pokemon are high enough to have learned any move it can learn. If you want different pokemon later, just mention going to the PC and switching for a new one.)
Other: (anything extra you care to mention)

I will be one of the Elite Four, and I will need three additional players. Maybe someone else to play Champion, if we include a fifth player, otherwise we'll just say the Champion stayed at the Pokemon League to handle the business matters there. If I get three players, that would be wonderful. If I'm lucky enough to get more, we'll find a way to fit you in.

My Profile
Name: Chad
gender: Male
Age: 19

Appearance:He wears a blue vest over a white shirt, with blue pants and a captain's hat. He is a water type trainer with a sailor moteif. Much like a sailor, he is muscular.

Pokemon: Blastoise, Swampert, Tentacool, Gyarados, Buizel, and Milotic.

Other: Most of what he uses are water types, though he has caught and trained other types before. Water is just his prefered type.

No. Can you imagine three or four pokemon attacking a single pokemon in a turn? Not many pokemon could survive an assault like that, if any.

The first to the goal will probably be one of the ones that play the closed Beta before it opens. They'll have a head start.

Are you saying Charizard likes to lay around and relax too, or are you saying Charizard could beat up a Slaking?
