I don't LOVE Gen V, but i like it. it's cool. I mean, it doesn't have Pikachu, so OBVIOUSLY it's not perfect, but I like it. ^^

I feel like I'm the only one in america that loves Gen V. -.- They dont seem rushed at all to me, most of them look really cool to me. I'm pretty sure that the Gen VI pokemon(If there will ever be a gen VI) will be bad though, cuz Nintendo's going to run completly dry on ideas eventualy.

Not at all! I was surprised and happy with how much I loved Gen V ( the story and the Pokemon, and etc.)-- at least 30 times better than Gen IV, but I think I love my Soul Silver (which I got later) just a little bit more--the extended story and awesome pokemon of Johto and Kanto = <3
Except I want a dang Growlithe!!! >.< Vulpix has always been easy for me to get, but I always want a Growlithe/Arcanine....

This pretty much explains how pokemon are thought of.They are based off of myths and legends, and sometimes actual creatures. Mostly, anything that has to do with japanese culture. The only thing that is missing is a wolf pokemon. Zoroark, Lucario, Ninetales, and others like it are not wolves as people think. They are foxes, which appears a lot in Japanese culture. Arcanine is a legend, Mightyena is a Hyena, and many other dog like pokmeon are just dogs.

Going back from my rant, they use the culture first, then they decide the look, then they decided the typing. If they decided type before look, they may have a hard time coming up with pokes, so it makes sense why they draw inspiration from real life things, and their actual culture. Still doesn't explain Vanilluxe.

Ahaha XD I knew that they were based of of legends. Like Jirachi is based off of a star-festival or something. But I never knew Lucario was a fox-like Pokemon. I always though of him as a jackal. I mean, those ears...
