Daycare for an MMORPG = Fail  :) That really doesn't have any sense.
A Breeding Centre only, would be better.
You give your Pokemon and an amount of money (different for each Pokemon? [Like rare Pokemon will cost more]) and you will have to come back after X day's.
It need to be an expensive service, otherwise it would be easy to make lot's of Pokébaby's from a rare/hard-to-get Pokemon and sell/trade it with other trainers.  :-X

i agree with the daycare to gain levels being a bad idea in general, but the breeding does sound very nice. you could make it so only a few select pokemon could be left a the breeding center. that way you do not have a large accumulation of rare pokemon in the game.

Rather than expensive, eggs should just take a long time. Perhaps several days or even a week. I mean... in the games, you can get an egg every ~2 mins, which is just a little unrealistic.

Now I know every breeder will hate me for making it hard to get a large number of eggs and choose the best, so perhaps the breeding system can be altered along the lines of inheritence of 4 IVs coming from random parents and the final 2 being independent. Another possibility is that every time eggs are laid, there is more than one, perhaps 3-6. This way you will have to wait between generations but still have variety to choose from. Yet another possible idea is to require a pokemon to be a certain age or level before it can breed.

Note that modifying the breeding system is low priority, and definitely won't be in any of the betas.
Remember, unless we say it will be included, a Team Member's speculation and ideas are still just speculation and ideas. Though it may be more likely to be included, there are no guarantees!

I second this. The 2 parent's level could be averaged and the chance of getting an egg will be once ever 30 minutes. Cuz you still need epic eggs moves.

there could be a limit on the number of times a pokemon can breed ~ akin to child-bearing age. one the limit is reached you have to catch another pokemon of the type you wish to breed (or raise the egg to the minimum breeding lvl).

I think you should be able to breed your pokemon yourself. But only if you've gotten a certain gym badge.Because think about the TV show for a second Brock wanted to be a breeder ,and he had to train before he could be one ,so I think at some point in the game you should be able to breed your pokemon yourself. You could have a system like the fire water leaf etc. stones.
Example.  pokemon        level      able/not able
             charmeleon        26               able

              Flygon               53            not able

              charmeleon        27              able

              piplup                 14           not able

See it could work just as long as you,

A. Have two of the some pokemon n the same evolution (no charmeleon, with a charzard)
B. Have room in your party for the new pokemon.
C.Have the right gym badge.

according to the pokemon anime and video games, we do not need to worry about some cross species relationships, some are okay, they do not need to be the exact same pokemon. gold and silver are probably the best example for this; when you looked at your team they have a little sprite beside them for the type of pokemon group they fit into (not the element type), any other pokemon that shares that sprite can breed with them

Don't worry about it. Breeding will not be implemented somewhere soon.

yeah i would rather the team just work on the game and get it done and then extra features to the game could be added later on
